Opiniones de Vive Sol Mountain View
Fantastic Mexican food. Vegetarians can enjoy most varieties of enchiladas and a few types of burrito as well. Mind blowing Nachos (with guacamole, sour cream, and beans). Very sinful, very delicious. Damage for two people with two enchiladas, a Nachos and two lemonades was ~$70. So definitely not a budget option. But was worth every $. Came away with two doggie bags, so great portion size. Fantastic ambience and friendly service staff. All in all definitely a place I will visit again, on occasion.
We went back here after 10 years! Our kids are now old enough to enjoy Mexican cuisine and they wanted to go. We sat outdoors and it was like sitting in a tropical place. It was so lovely! And the food and service was amazing! Definitely a place we are going to add to our regular rotation.
A perfect place for a Date Night - well decorated garden style outdoor seating and great mood lighting. Chips and Salsa are to-die for. They had Vegetarian options available - which is a blessing for us as we don’t have to ask for veg substitutes. Veg. Burrito and Enfrijoladas both were delicious and served in good quantity. Make sure to visit early, as it gets busy pretty quick and the ambience looks beautiful during sunset. We loved this place and definitely going back.
Great service. Chips with 3 different kind and if salsas were simply amazing. I never fill up on chips, here I ended up doing that. We ordered enchiladas Mexicanas with green sauce. Portions were right for one person per entree.
I would expect the average rating for this place to be 4.6-4.7. We sat outside and the vibes were immaculate. we got the ceviche to start, which was one of the best we’ve had. We got mango margaritas which tasted much better than your average fake frozen margaritas. For our food, we got the Pollo Guajillo and the Bistec Renchero, and both were pretty awesome in quality and taste. Definitely coming back to try other dishes!!
I love this place. The food is amazing, in particular the Guajillo sauce is heaven in my mouth. Their margaritas are fantastic and they have lots of different options. They give 3 different salsas with their chips, which is a nice touch. The place is always packed but I've never had to wait more than 20 min. The decor inside is beautiful too and creates a wonderful ambiance. I took my mom here while she was visiting and we ended up coming back again before she left bc she loved it so much. I highly recommend ViVe Sol.
Some of the best mexican food I've had. Their house sauces are amazing. Best mole I've ever had! Great service as well. Great atmosphere as well. Couldn't ask for more. I do not give 5 stars often... this place easily earned 5 stars!
My favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. The enchiladas suizas are my fav. The margaritas are one of the best I’ve ever had. Brought several friends here, none were disappointed! Always good service :)
Always love the food service and atmosphere here. I’ll have to take and post pics next time I go… need a good date night OR family night option? This place
Food is delicious and the service is great Portions vs price could be improved but the quality and taste is good value. Three different salsas amd all are great. This is a restaurant not a taqueria so don't expect low prices.
Friendly service and good food. We love the ambiance here. Feels like an outdoor restaurant with the big windows and pleasant breezes though the dining area.
Amazing food. Ambience was beautiful. Would recommend. Mole was out of this world. We will be back.
The guajillo sauce is reason enough to come here, but everything we've tried here is amazing. This is my favorite Mexican place. Great upscale food, excellent atmosphere. The decor inside is gorgeous. During nice weather, the outside seating area is very nice as well. I've been coming here for more than 10 years now and it is always excellent.
The carne asada was really quite tasty. I also had a margarita on the rocks and it was pretty good. It was early evening and they had the window open with a nice breeze flowing through the restaurant. It was quiet and we were able to have nice conversation. We didn't feel rushed out of the restaurant which was nice because I was with a colleague on a work trip. Highly recommend this place!
Food here is amazing. The enchiladas mole are a favorite and they make some mean margaritas. Staff are helpful and the only thing to watch out for is that parking can be pretty limited.
Excellent food (lots of regional and home style dishes, not just the usual burritos and enchiladas.), friendly staff, outstanding margaritas.
big portions, great tasting food and a really nice cozy atmosphere. Service was great as well. we came in without much expectations, but its one of the best restaurants we've visited in recent months. oh ya and the margaritas are STRONG! overall a great vibe.
I have been coming here for over 15 years and it has consistently been one of my top 3 restaurants of all time. The food is fantastic and the bar in which I hold all other Mexican restaurants. The margaritas are also on point. The servers are all great and the atmosphere is so welcoming. I LOVE Vive Sol!
One of my family's favorite restaurants! Great quality Mexican food that is flavorful and fresh. The drinks especially margaritas are really well made. Good service. The prices have increased recently and are a bit steep per entree, but the food is great!
Best high end Mexican in the Bay Area, full stop. Flavors are like nothing you’ll find at your typical smashed beans and rice alternatives.
Loved the salsas. So much variety, and each one, so unique. They custom-made a gluten-free fajita for me. We were a big group and I got to taste so many dishes on the menu. Each one was delicious. The cocktails hit the right notes too!
One of my favourite restaurants. As a frequent visitor to the USA, I was introduced to ViVe Sol over 10 years ago, and I have continued to eat there ever since. They do killer Margarita's
Our new local after Fiesta Del Mar closed. Very good margaritas. Nice menu with some pseudo-genuine dishes from their home state of Puebla. The outdoor seating area is nice. Super friendly staff. Kid friendly.
Parking is available on the street, front and back of the restaurant. One thing we noticed as we walked in, the lighting was dim and relaxing. We sat at the bar. The ambience was nice. We could converse without having to shout. The bartender was attentive and was great with suggesting drinks and food. We enjoyed the rajas de pollo, great flavor. Your choice of corn or flour tortillas. Some dishes come with rice and black beans, which are cooked to perfection. My friend enjoyed an enchiladas dish. It was flavorful and had a creamy sauce. For drinks we had a chavela and Sauvignon Blanc.
I used to go Vive Sol a lot when I worked in Lost Altos, so I pleased to see they were still open. We had dinner here for my boss’ birthday recently and they were very accommodating. Our server was very nice and patient (it’s got to be tough with a large party), he managed us very well 😆. The food is good; delicious, well portioned, and uncomplicated. Not a lot of flare, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The decor of the restaurant is lovely, however it’s so loud. Couldn’t hear anything said at the other end of the table. What can be expected from a packed restaurant? Yet, being so busy, our food came out in a timely manner. A great time was had by all.
Easily one of my favirote spots. Food's fantastic, I strongly recommend the Rajas Pablanos and the Serrano plates. The guajillo dishes are also very good, as is the molé; the molé here is a bit sweeter, more distinct to the area the resturant is basing itself in.
The food is soooo good and super yummy! They won’t give the WiFi password lol, but the place is gorgeous and the meals totally blew us away — we loved it! 🔥
Love the decor and the food was so flavorful, as was the margarita. Plenty to take home for lunch tomorrow. But oh boy the shrimp enchiladas and vegan enchiladas -- wonderful. WIth the chips you get 3 types of salsa. We argued over which was better, finally each was delicious in its own way.
small, mostly tables with 3-5 bar stools. Minimal hours. Great food and margs. Not in a very walkable place but they have a small parking lot. Would go back.
Excellent enchiladas, and terrific margaritas! The service staff here is exemplarary - they are very prompt and courteous. Both the 'house' margarita and mezcal margarita are both lovely. There's lots of outdoor or patio seating available, so come earlier and enjoy a beautiful evening.
ViVe Sol is a delightful culinary gem! From the moment you arrive, the convenience of their spacious parking lot sets the tone for a fantastic experience. The restaurant boasts a charming and inviting atmosphere both inside and out, perfect for a cozy dinner or a lively gathering. The staff exudes warmth and friendliness, enhancing the dining pleasure with their attentive service. The menu is a fusion of delectable flavors that tantalize the taste buds, leaving you craving more. Whether you're seeking a romantic evening or a joyful meal with friends, ViVe Sol is an absolute delight, offering not just great food, but an all-encompassing dining experience that keeps you coming back for more. 🌟🍷🥂
An excellent authentic Mexican restaurant with the mole dishes being their speciality. it is easy to load up on their fresh chips and mild to medium dips. They have a variety of Margaritas made strong. Grandmas chicken and the Mole burrito were wonderful. Parking is limited and they don’t take reservations. So if you go with a big group might have a long wait. Service also is fast. Update Dec 22 still a great place. My son loved the Carne Asada. Grandmas chicken was slightly sweet with flavor. The Mole poblano had slightly spicy chunky pieces of Chicken. Update Feb 18th. Good drinks and chips.
WOW this place is so cute and from the cocktails to dessert this place is fantastic. Hubby and I went here ladt night for the first time and we were able to sit out front on the little patio. They give you chips and three salsas to start you off. We each choice a margarita and they didn’t disappoint. Hubby had enchiladas de mole and I had chile relleno & tostada combo plate. First the mole was so smooth and had wonderful flavors my plate was very good and the sauce on the chile rellono was a little spicy but flavorful. We finished with chocolate cake made in house because they ran out of flan. *tip come early if your going on a weekend because it’s a small cozy beautiful place and it get very busy. If you live Mexican food this is a must try.
We love to come here and eat in person. But take out is great too. We love their guacamole, enchiladas and just about everything.

Every detail. ambience, flavors, quality food like no other. Personal touch. Gracias mucho y Vive!
Great place, too bad it only opens for a few hours several days a week, but you are in for a treat. The staff is great. The food is outstanding.

The food here is good but not great. The portions are large, the Margaritas are refreshing, and the satff is attentive. The bathroom is outside, which is a tiny bit odd, but not bad. It does get pretty busy at dinner time, so you might have to wait, so be ready for that
Excellent ambiance. They specialize in margaritas and premium tequilas. The mole sauce had a lot of flavor and tends to be on the sweeter side. Would definitely visit again. The bar service could use some improvement though.
Great selection of margaritas. Mole sauce is dark, rich and a bit sweeter than normal -- my favorite. Service sometimes falls off a bit when they get busy, and the plaster walls make for a loud dinner, but the food is always great. (When it's available, the outdoor seating is much less noisy.)
Comfortable atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff for the most part, and most importantly, absolutely delicious food. They seemed a bit quick to be rid of us, though, removed the chips and salsa from the table before we were done with everything yet the restaurant wasn't anywhere near full. I'd gladly go back, but don't think you're going to rush me and my chatty friends by nabbing the chip basket so early.
Tucked away in the heart of Silicon Valley, Vive Sol is a vibrant Mexican restaurant specializing in Puebla cuisine, offering a delightful escape for those seeking authentic flavors. The restaurant boasts a warm and inviting atmosphere, adorned with colorful decor and lively music. Its extensive tequila selection is a testament to its commitment to quality, featuring a wide array of premium options to satisfy any palate. Vive Sol's menu is a celebration of Puebla's rich culinary heritage, showcasing traditional dishes like the flavorful Lomo de Puerco (pork loin) and a variety of enchiladas prepared with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Their margaritas, expertly crafted with top-shelf tequila, are a must-try and perfectly complement the bold flavors of the cuisine. While some reviews mention longer wait times during peak hours, the consensus is that Vive Sol's exceptional food and vibrant atmosphere make it well worth the wait. Whether you're a seasoned connoisseur of Mexican cuisine or simply looking for a memorable dining experience, Vive Sol is a hidden gem that promises to delight your taste buds and transport you to the heart of Mexico.
What can I say about this place. The establishment is quite nice. Good customer service, food is good, drinks are good, chips and three options of salsa a good. Its above average why I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. If you haven't tried it, you should. I'm very picky on food.
Nice place for Mexican food! The food are pretty good, not sure if it’s authentic but definitely special. great selections on the menus, and some comes in different portions. Regular portion is quite large. Nice atmosphere for celebrations.
Charming spot, but a little noisy. Food was almost great. Mole was a bit too sweet. Beans were delicious. Grandma's Chicken had a great sauce, but the chicken was a bit over done. The service was attentive but a bit rushed. They have an outdoor seating area and I suspect that on a warm evening, that would be the place to sit for an enjoyable evening over very good margaritas.
Food: 4 Customer Service: 4 Ambience: 5 Location/ Parking: 5 Cleanliness: 5 Reservations: N/A This restaurant is situated in the heart of Mountain View, CA and conveniently located on W El Camino Real. This Mexican restaurant has their own parking lot, so there is no issues with parking. My hubby and I decided to enjoy this restaurant recently, based on their Google reviews and while we was visiting the local area. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouthwatering starters and main courses that will appeal to everyone. Everything came out very fast and hot and was well seasoned. Everything we ate was fresh and delicious. The chefs use the best quality ingredients to produce dishes that are simply delightful. I’m giving this restaurant a 4 rating mainly because of their customer service was slow, and the food itself was just typical Mexican food that was overpriced. I’m pretty confident that we wouldn't return for another visit and tried them again.
The service is great with friendly folks all around, but the food and drinks are just alright. The margaritas and nachos in particular aren't amazing. I liked the chips and three different salsas, which they do a good job refilling. They don't have air conditioning, or perhaps it just can't keep up with hot summer evenings, so after an hour you really just want to leave and cool off.
The only complaint about this place is that it is in a parking lot right off of noisy El Camino. Once you walk in, though, all of that disappears. Only one word for the food- “Delicious!” Everything was SO flavorful. I reluctantly say, “If you’re looking for a hidden gem, then you MUST try this place!!”
Big hype but average food and average service. Limited Veg options, waiters would not talk about diff sauce platter unless we specifically asked.. it was an ok experience, have had better experiences at a couple of other Mexican restaurants..
I haven't seem many good mexican restaurants around the area but I was surprised with Vive Sol---from the moment I entered I knew it was a good place. The overal indoor and outdoor design is very good. Service was good as well. I went on a thursday evening and they pretty full overall. They have a good selection of food, we ordered bistec ranchero and Serrano. Both were good but Serrano had an amazing taste! We also ordered some piña coladas....which were delicious! As you wait for your foood, they provide chips and salsa (3 different kinds) which very good. Overall a good first experience, i did feel its a bit pricey but if the food is good, I can't complaint :)
Upscale, decimals loud restaurant that sometimes has outdoor seating. Delicious, fresh Mexican food with plenty of choices. Lots of tequila brands, fresh margaritas not strong enough. Chips served with 3 different superb, fresh salsas. Cool sun-themed wall decorations, good place for business, family, friends dinner out. Parking can get full quickly. Clean bathroom is outside, spookily around the side of the building, making it a relief to rush back inside to the comfort of your table.
Even with reservations it's still hard to get a place to sit. The margaritas are great. Highly recommended are the prawns and avocado cocktail served with nachos (delicious) and for mains, grandma's special chicken (creamy and tasty) served with rice and beans. Service can be a tad impersonal and slow
I hadn't eaten here in a couple of years, and am glad that their food and service is still great. My usual order is the Chicken tortilla soup, but I opted to try something new. I ordered the Chicken Mole and a Cadillac margarita. Hubby tried the Mezcal margarita which he enjoyed very much. We will be going back for more delicious options for date-night.
We have come over the years since Sol opened. Our recent visit reminded us how unique these restaurants are. The bar drinks are pricey, but excellently crafted. The Guacamole is served promptly and pairs well with the three salsas. The Guajillo (Enjococado) has a stonger flavor than most restaurants, yet has a richer texture. We forgot how unique the Lomo de Puerco is; so indescribable but delicious. Even the beans and rice are top notch. Points off for inconsistent plating temperature and dining room noise. Recent improvements for accessibility are appreciated.
One of the best Mexican restaurants in the Bay Area. Excellent taste, really good ambiance and top class service. The quesadilla was amazing and so was the margarita! Bistec ranchero is a must try! However, this place is definitely on the pricier side compared to other similar type restaurants.
Not my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area but it’s definitely one of the decent ones. We went there on a Wednesday night and it was slightly crowded. The tables are too close to each other so that was definitely one of the reasons I’m not giving 5 stars. I ordered Enfrijoladas and guacamole. Both were above average, the Enfrijoladas could have been better with more salt though. Their service was above average too, they forgot to bring silverware at first but other than that they were attentive. Overall it could be nice for a night out during the week.
I’ve been coming to Vive Sol since I was a child and I always really enjoy my time here. The menu has some good options and the food is definitely made really well so it’s not too risky to experiment with different dishes. It’s a little on the pricier side, I will say, but still had great service and enjoyed our meal a lot. It’s also worth noting the bathrooms are outside around the back. Not sure if that’s a good or bad note for some but worth mentioning. Great place for a slightly more upscale but still casual meal with family, friends, or a date.

ViVe Sol has a lot of spirit. From the minute you drive up to the restaurant you're greeted with bright colors and fun decor. Once you step inside, guests are immediately welcomed by the bar- perfect for a margarita (or two) while waiting for a table. The menu is expansive and has options for everyone. The quality and flavorful food draws a consistent crowd. The downfall- the wait staff is bustling and busy, diminishing the quality of the service.
Experience wasn't great. We arrived about an hour before closing, and they wouldn't let us sit outside because the patio was already closed. Inside was sweltering, and we were sweating the whole meal. We ordered the mole poblano and enchiladas al sol. Food was okay but not worth paying over $20 per dish. We also ordered a jalapeno margarita that was pretty good, but I wouldn't recommend the mango margarita. It had artificial mango flavoring and we could not taste any tequila. We did like the chips and salsa a lot, but ultimately would not go back.
I had camarones a Cilantro. The food was good, not extraordinary given the price. The nachos we had as starters were good and the mezcal cocktail they have was delicious. The staff is super friendly and helpful when you want something custom.
Very ordinary experience. Good came fast but that's about it. The chips had no salt. Chipotle chips are so much better. The salsa was spicy. Not flavorful. The veggie tacos were expensive and not tasty at all. Most forgetful experience. The food truck nearby has so much better tacos
The food didn't seem as fresh as previous visits. The refried beans were hard going for everyone and the dish could have been warmer. Still tasty though and I love the corn chips and three dips that are always served. They only take reservations on slow days like Wed, Thur, Sunday but they don't take reservations when closed and it was impossible to hear what was being said on the phone and I had to repeat myself 5 times. The restaurant itself was also really noisy. Sit outside if you can. Service is always prompt and the margaritas are still great.
Good standard Mexican food. You get free chips and 3 types of salsa as soon as you sit down. The salsa verde was definitely the best. The margaritas are good sized and not too sweet. I ordered the shrimp enchiladas with mole sauce. They were good. Not amazing, but not bad at all. We had a good experience overall but I don’t think I’d go out of my way to come back.
Nice little hidden restaurant with fantastic decor and outside seating area. The house margaritas are absolutely the best and make sure to have one! The food was very authentic Mexican dishes, but was a little bland for my taste. The mole sauce had absolutely no spiciness to it and had more nutty & cocoa flavors than chilli peppers, the "grandma" sauce was very creamy and more sweet to taste. The chili rellaño was not what I was expecting... The batter was more like a cake batter and was soft -not crispy & then douse it with sauce which just makes it more "soggy".
Food is good, ingredients fresh. But it is not impressive. Carnitas were rather blend, guacamole was also missing some spices. They have a nice selection of generously sized drinks. One star down for the ambience. It is pretty dark and very loud around 6-7. We were there twice and the guests were mostly big parties and it was almost impossible for a couple to have a conversation.
Vive Sol famous for their beautiful ambiance and Mexican food. I ordered Enchiladas Al Chipotle and Ensalada Mixta from their menu. They have pretty good service and enough sitting area.

I would not recommend this place. 1. Bones were in our chicken quesadilla 2. The staff are very uninterested, not happy and not friendly. 3 It is overly expensive for what you get ($8 extra if you want to share a meal). The only good things were the water girls smile, queso appetizer and margarita.
Place used to be good. Now it's overpriced food. They also charge you for additional baskets of chips. $7 for chips is crazy!
I’m Hispanic & this was bad. Fish tacos are usually fried not soft tortillas, beans cold & dry rice 29.00 & staff was not good. This was Friday night.

I'm sorry to say that this Mexican restaurant was the worst I've been to. We ordered a veggie burrito, two fish tacos, and one chicken taco. We paid $30 for two fish tacos that were greasy, tasteless, and disgusting. I was really disappointed with the poor quality of the Mexican food they served. The only good thing was the black beans, but even those seemed like they were straight out of a can. Waitress are good 👍
This is the last time I go to this restaurant!!! If your reading this, don’t order from here. We call and did a complain about the food one my order was wrong two the rice was uncooked Which seem they don’t care if their customer gets sick. Me and my parents always order emboladas de mole form this restaurant. Even do in my opinion they put a lot of Chicken. I wanted less chicken of one of the orders. It gets even worse we call ask for a manager or the owner to talk about my order didn’t do anything.
