The food is soooo good and super yummy! They won’t give the WiFi password lol, but the place is gorgeous and the meals totally blew us away — we loved it! 🔥
Love the decor and the food was so flavorful, as was the margarita. Plenty to take home for lunch tomorrow. But oh boy the shrimp enchiladas and vegan enchiladas -- wonderful. WIth the chips you get 3 types of salsa. We argued over which was better, finally each was delicious in its own way.
small, mostly tables with 3-5 bar stools. Minimal hours. Great food and margs. Not in a very walkable place but they have a small parking lot. Would go back.
Excellent enchiladas, and terrific margaritas! The service staff here is exemplarary - they are very prompt and courteous. Both the 'house' margarita and mezcal margarita are both lovely. There's lots of outdoor or patio seating available, so come earlier and enjoy a beautiful evening.

An excellent authentic Mexican restaurant with the mole dishes being their speciality. it is easy to load up on their fresh chips and mild to medium dips. They have a variety of Margaritas made strong. Grandmas chicken and the Mole burrito were wonderful. Parking is limited and they don’t take reservations. So if you go with a big group might have a long wait. Service also is fast. Update Dec 22 still a great place. My son loved the Carne Asada. Grandmas chicken was slightly sweet with flavor. The Mole poblano had slightly spicy chunky pieces of Chicken. Update Feb 18th. Good drinks and chips.
WOW this place is so cute and from the cocktails to dessert this place is fantastic. Hubby and I went here ladt night for the first time and we were able to sit out front on the little patio. They give you chips and three salsas to start you off. We each choice a margarita and they didn’t disappoint. Hubby had enchiladas de mole and I had chile relleno & tostada combo plate. First the mole was so smooth and had wonderful flavors my plate was very good and the sauce on the chile rellono was a little spicy but flavorful. We finished with chocolate cake made in house because they ran out of flan. *tip come early if your going on a weekend because it’s a small cozy beautiful place and it get very busy. If you live Mexican food this is a must try.
We love to come here and eat in person. But take out is great too. We love their guacamole, enchiladas and just about everything.

I've been here a couple times and it has been so good every time! I keep forgetting about it when I'm in town, but I'm glad I came tonight. The chorizo and frijole appetizer is excellent. The shri…
Food is always great. Drinks are awesome. Not crazy expensive. Great service too. Parking is a pain when the lot is full.

Every detail. ambience, flavors, quality food like no other. Personal touch. Gracias mucho y Vive!
Great place, too bad it only opens for a few hours several days a week, but you are in for a treat. The staff is great. The food is outstanding.
The only complaint about this place is that it is in a parking lot right off of noisy El Camino. \n\nOnce you walk in, though, all of that disappears. \n\nOnly one word for the food- "Delicious!" E…
Very cute ambiance. The portions are great. The food is yummy. parking is not the best but totally worth it! This would be a great place for a private event.

We have come over the years since Sol opened. Our recent visit reminded us how unique these restaurants are. The bar drinks are pricey, but excellently crafted. The Guacamole is served promptly and pairs well with the three salsas. The Guajillo (Enjococado) has a stonger flavor than most restaurants, yet has a richer texture. We forgot how unique the Lomo de Puerco is; so indescribable but delicious. Even the beans and rice are top notch. Points off for inconsistent plating temperature and dining room noise. Recent improvements for accessibility are appreciated.
One of the best Mexican restaurants in the Bay Area. Excellent taste, really good ambiance and top class service. The quesadilla was amazing and so was the margarita! Bistec ranchero is a must try! However, this place is definitely on the pricier side compared to other similar type restaurants.
Not my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area but it’s definitely one of the decent ones. We went there on a Wednesday night and it was slightly crowded. The tables are too close to each other so that was definitely one of the reasons I’m not giving 5 stars. I ordered Enfrijoladas and guacamole. Both were above average, the Enfrijoladas could have been better with more salt though. Their service was above average too, they forgot to bring silverware at first but other than that they were attentive. Overall it could be nice for a night out during the week.
I’ve been coming to Vive Sol since I was a child and I always really enjoy my time here. The menu has some good options and the food is definitely made really well so it’s not too risky to experiment with different dishes. It’s a little on the pricier side, I will say, but still had great service and enjoyed our meal a lot. It’s also worth noting the bathrooms are outside around the back. Not sure if that’s a good or bad note for some but worth mentioning. Great place for a slightly more upscale but still casual meal with family, friends, or a date.

I had camarones a Cilantro. The food was good, not extraordinary given the price. The nachos we had as starters were good and the mezcal cocktail they have was delicious. The staff is super friendly and helpful when you want something custom.
Very ordinary experience. Good came fast but that's about it. The chips had no salt. Chipotle chips are so much better. The salsa was spicy. Not flavorful. The veggie tacos were expensive and not tasty at all. Most forgetful experience. The food truck nearby has so much better tacos
The food didn't seem as fresh as previous visits. The refried beans were hard going for everyone and the dish could have been warmer. Still tasty though and I love the corn chips and three dips that are always served. They only take reservations on slow days like Wed, Thur, Sunday but they don't take reservations when closed and it was impossible to hear what was being said on the phone and I had to repeat myself 5 times. The restaurant itself was also really noisy. Sit outside if you can. Service is always prompt and the margaritas are still great.
Good standard Mexican food. You get free chips and 3 types of salsa as soon as you sit down. The salsa verde was definitely the best. The margaritas are good sized and not too sweet. I ordered the shrimp enchiladas with mole sauce. They were good. Not amazing, but not bad at all. We had a good experience overall but I don’t think I’d go out of my way to come back.
Nice little hidden restaurant with fantastic decor and outside seating area. The house margaritas are absolutely the best and make sure to have one! The food was very authentic Mexican dishes, but was a little bland for my taste. The mole sauce had absolutely no spiciness to it and had more nutty & cocoa flavors than chilli peppers, the "grandma" sauce was very creamy and more sweet to taste. The chili rellaño was not what I was expecting... The batter was more like a cake batter and was soft -not crispy & then douse it with sauce which just makes it more "soggy".
Food is good, ingredients fresh. But it is not impressive. Carnitas were rather blend, guacamole was also missing some spices. They have a nice selection of generously sized drinks. One star down for the ambience. It is pretty dark and very loud around 6-7. We were there twice and the guests were mostly big parties and it was almost impossible for a couple to have a conversation.
Vive Sol famous for their beautiful ambiance and Mexican food. I ordered Enchiladas Al Chipotle and Ensalada Mixta from their menu. They have pretty good service and enough sitting area.

Place used to be good. Now it's overpriced food. They also charge you for additional baskets of chips. $7 for chips is crazy!
I’m Hispanic & this was bad. Fish tacos are usually fried not soft tortillas, beans cold & dry rice 29.00 & staff was not good. This was Friday night.
