Opiniones de Barcade New York
This place is is awesome! They have a lot of the classic arcade games like Mrs Pacman, Daytona USA, Golden Axe, Milepede, and Qbert. They have some newer games too, all in arcade format. You have to buy tokens from a machine instead of rolling up with quarters. They have happy hour, Monday to Friday, from noon until 7pm. The special is $1 off beer (not $1 beer...$1 OFF beer). They also have hot dogs. There is no Game Over at Barcade!
Very fun place for good drinks and a good time. Alone or not, you can play in the arcade and drink.
I had a great time here, although there are some games that are poorly calibrated and it's very easy to lose all your coins, I recommend not using the shooter type ones, one of the bartenders seemed like he was having a bad day with everything and made faces when you asked him for a recommendation
We wanted to find a bar that we could casually drink at and stumbled upon barcade. It’s a different vibe then most bars but the beers are really good. There are a lot of arcade games to choose from. Great to come with friends or even a date night. If you like IPA I highly recommend the yes farm yes beer one!
Had a good time with a friend there. Bring a lot of quarters Try the different Beers Don't buy a cocktail, a little bit expensive
Great side street bar with a very nice atmosphere, selling all sorts of different beers and ales, it has lots of different retro video arcade machines all over the place, very friendly staff who are prepared to go e you advice on the different beers that they sell, great vibe and definitely recommend if you fancy a drink in new york
Good retro game selection, most of them have spots in between to set your drink which is very convenient and there are tables spread throughout the space with a good amount of room to seat you and your group. Did not try the food just went for drinks and games.
I had a great time here with my partner! Great place to go on a date or with friends! The tokens for the arcade is very cheap and I loved the atmosphere! We sat at the bar for a while and had a great conversation with the bartender (who I sadly forgot his name). The security at the door was the only not-friendly-AT-ALL at the place, other than that it’s s must go !
This lake is so peaceful. With plenty of space. You can bring the dogs, they have a park for the kids. Plenty of bathrooms. Grilling area. Bring ur grill. Love it
Fun bar with old style arcade games ranging from pinball to classic racing car. Plenty of draft beers available at decent prices. Expect it to be busy but that all creates a great atmosphere. Beers range from $8-$10 and each game play is a quarter dollar. There is a change machine in the corner as you walk in where you can switch up your paper notes to coins. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the drinks. Tokens are 25c each
This place is so much fun. I wish I could do my JoystickTV streams from here but something tells me that wouldn't be allowed LOL.
I am really impressed with this place I came in to a warm welcome with a relaxed vibe as if no one is staring at you . I am not much of a drinker but they have a large selection on tap . As for the food I am not a fan of bar food but this place proved me wrong I got a lunch special for $15 and it took a little time but my gawd it was good everything was fresh like I was a eating some 5 star over price meal , I tip my hat to the chef .They have a large number of vintage arcade games and I felt I wanted to try them all . So I highly recommend stopping this place
Food, staff and selection of beverages, was outstanding, and for some odd reason I don't know who was working in the back that day, but he must have been working at five guys,The way he gave me fries
Is like nostalgia and clubbing had a loving child: Barcade. At first, looks like a gimmick. Old videogames and alcohol? Make no mistake, I don't drink. I was there for the games. I were in similar themed bars in Denver and other places. . . And I had a blast ! People from all over the world (Me included) just crossing punches in street fighter, or showing off how to pass levels in sunset riders. Patrons were great and nerds just like me having a great time. A hidden gem in NYC !. Pricing: Good. I mean is NYC, so expect things to be pricey, but it was surprisingly good. Will I return? a resounding YES !
Great beer and game selection. Bashi Bashi owns, and watched a girl projectile vomit onto the floor. 10/10 night
I recently visited this Barcade location with coworkers and had an absolute blast! It's the perfect combination of arcade and bar, with a huge selection of retro games and pinball machines that will transport you back to your childhood. The service at Barcade was outstanding, with friendly and attentive staff making sure everyone was having a good time. The atmosphere is lively and fun, making it an ideal place to party with friends or celebrate a special occasion. I highly recommend Barcade for anyone looking for a unique and entertaining night out. It's definitely a one-of-a-kind experience that you won't find anywhere else in the city. Don't miss out on the chance to relive your favorite childhood games while enjoying a few drinks with your friends at Barcade.
Love coming to the barcade! The first time I went to the downtown one and both have their pros. This one is a lot more spacious with group and driving games that we all loved! It’s a great way to pass a night! Once we brought outside food and the bouncer was super friendly about telling us to put it away, always a great experience! It does get crowded and rowdy when people are passionate about the games but never in a bad way. I’d recommend their fries, we always order them!
Whether you’re a noob, an amateur, or a pro at classic arcade games, you’re sure to have a great time here! $5 in tokens lasted me about an hour and the cocktail selection is nice and well priced! I had a slight issue with something but the staff were more than fine with helping me which is always a cherry on top. I hope to visit the location in Brooklyn with different arcade games soon.
Absolutely love the energy and vibe of this place. Grab some tokens and drinks and lose yourself in the nostalgia of pinball and old arcade classics. (There are a lot of wild new games - please try the game 'Bishi Bashy' it will have you cracking up. The bar tender we had was quiet but fantastic drinks expert. Please try the Rose Blood and Brooklyn Mule. The token value is great and the cost of food and drinks is good value
Barcade is average priced for NYC, and it's such a fun place! I really enjoyed the games, and the food & drinks were tasty. I had the loaded nachos with pork and a Brooklyn Mule and loved both. My friends enjoyed their food & drinks as well! The staff all seemed friendly, they actually made a mistake with my order at first but were so nice about it and fixed it right away
UPDATE: 4/2025 - had another work event here (thanks for always accomodating us!) and the beer list is STILL stellar for true beer lovers/enthusiasts. 👍💯👍I will always stop in when I'm in the neighborhood just to see what's on tap. CHEERS! 🍻 2023 - Fun place, but it's the pretty damn spectacular beer selection - WOW! Didn't expect that. Good rock/alternative music too. Went for a work team outing. Plenty of fun games, retro and new, a few pinball machines, and a 4 player Pac-Man game. Great for team bonding, you can get packages that incl. food, drinks, and game tokens. The food was fine, the beer selection STELLAR. Looking forward to coming back!
This is a great spot for a group of friends, solo solo or even date night. It's the one stop shop for it all. Don't get me started on how amazing the staff is there. They went above and beyond without hesitation. They all deserve a raise!!!!!!!!!!
Much larger arcade than expected! Lots of different cabinets to choose from, tables in between to place your drink down safely, pinball machines, japanese minigame machine, and amazing selections of beer that were unexpectedly affordable and delicious. A definite must go, I ended up buying one of their neat King Diamond-esque merch shirts! Honestly I could rant and rave about it for days, just go!
This place is so fun! We come here pretty often to play games and get a drink. They rotate their taps often which is awesome. The beers can be a bit hit or miss but there’s always plenty to try! The food is what you’d expect from a bar like this it’s not great but it’s not bad. You can play quite a few games for around $5-10 worth of tokens so it’s affordable to come play. I’ll continue coming back here it’s so much fun and a great atmosphere!
The Barcade in Chelsea has always been my favorite location of theirs, because the size of the joint and game selection is excellent. The Discs of Tron cabinet alone keeps me coming back year after year, and then of course there’s Joust! I also can’t think of many bars or restaurants where the food and snacks started out good and kept getting better, but the Chelsea Barcade has done it. My wife and I recently stopped in and had the ‘Bama Chicken Sandwich and the Jersey Burger, and both were delicious! The accompanying fries also came out super hot, crispy, and in large portions. Avery, the bartender, was so friendly and made an excellent drink recommendation that my wife appreciated. Can’t wait to come by again soon! P.S. - Can you please bring back Golden Axe???
Fantastic bar arcade. They have quite a few arcade games and even a handful of pinball machines. Most were multiplayer. The bar had a lot of options for drinks and even food, with more seating than I expected. You can buy tokens for the games on your tab, but they do charge an extra percentage.
The atmosphere here was really cozy and nice. The people working here are super sweet, want to shout out Derek for being extra kind! Recommend this spot to others 😊
Great place.. owner Joe is awesome..my daughter has a drink named after her.. so if you ever find yourself there get the “Lyla drink” it’s delicious.. great vibes and great video games… we will be returning again soon.
This place is absolutely incredible! 🤩 Barcade is a fantastic bar and arcade that includes an endless selection of draft beers 🍻 and an impressive collection of old and new arcade games 🕹️: 4P Pac-Man, X-Men, pinball, co-op shooters, and so much more! Really enjoyed spending time here and trying out all the game stations! 🎮 Bar 🍺 staff is friendly and the service is quick! ⏲️ I wish I came here more often!
This bar was mentioned in our guide book as a place to visit and as a happy coincidence it was next to the second hotel we stayed in on our NYC trip. The bar is full of retro games machines. You play with tokens which you can get from a machine for cash (ATM on site). Huge range of craft beers and ciders from the east coast. The barman was friendly, made jokes about my being British and explaining the lagers first, and knew his beers. There was a great range of sour beers, IPAs Pilsners and ciders. There’s a good buzz about the place even though it wasn’t busy when visited (Monday afternoon!). We didn’t eat but the food looked good. Worth a visit for something a little different. Definitely if you like arcade games and pinball. Was a great recommendation.
I had an amazing time at Barcade! A friend recommended this place, and it honestly turned into one of my best days in New York. I got to play so many classic games like Pac-Man, Crazy Taxi, Tetris, and a few racing games the selection is fantastic and brought back so much nostalgia. What I loved most is that it’s not just about the games; they also serve great drinks and snacks. I ordered a burger along with a drink called the Jungle Bird, and both were delicious. The food filled me up perfectly, and then I could relax before jumping back into the games. The atmosphere is super fun, with good music and a lively vibe. It’s a perfect spot to hang out with friends, enjoy some drinks, and relive arcade classics. I highly recommend Barcade to anyone in New York whether you’re into retro games, looking for a fun night out, or just want to try something different. Definitely worth the visit!
I was very happy to visit for the first time yesterday. I didnt try any of the food here, so I have not rated it. I did see some burgers roll past that looked pretty good though... The music was a perfect mix of rock, metal and alternative. The bar is a large space and the sound system has that club feel. I was then very happy the games I played volumes were clearly loud enough to enjoy whilst still enjoying the music. I visited early in the afternoon so it was still relatively quiet, but all the patrons there were having a good time. Some enjoying a beer, some playing with their partners or group of friends. The bar stays open until 2am most nights and 4am on Friday and Saturday. Black Knight 2000 jammed the first time I tried it. I mentioned it to a nearby manager later. He immediately repaired the machine and returned my tokens to then enjoy the game a good few times after. I also saw Pulp Fiction have a playfield clean during my visit. Playing that machine was the highlight of my visit. I highly recommend Barcade, especially for pinball nuts like myself! I'll be going back later and this time enjoy a few beers with my games.
I discovered this place because a friend celebrated their birthday here and rented out part of the space. Honestly, it’s such a cool spot! The games are super vintage and fun to play, and surprisingly, the food is amazing too. It’s bar food, like burgers and wings, but it’s really tasty. The drinks were great as well, both the cocktails and the mocktails. I had a great time here. It’s definitely a fun place to hang out, and I would absolutely go again!
Just moved back and tried this place out. Was amazed by everything the food, the drinks and the Service where impeccable. There was was slight mix up with my food but it was corrected with the up most professionalisum had the veggie bueger. Scott is probably 1 of the best bartends I've seen in awhile. 100 out of 10 would recommend
Great place. Staff grumpy and killed the vibe. Like a surly teenager at an arcade. But with tats, a 20 a day habit, and a too-small beanie cap. Machines good. Food was sub-street food level with more grease and less charm. But it's still a good place I'll come back to.
I LOVE Barcade! The food is great, nachos and chicken sandwich and salad are my go to’s. The music is always perfect- interesting mix, stuff I’ve never heard and stuff I haven’t heard in FOREVER. The games are awesome - Tetris is my jam. Pinball is growing on me and they have an awesome selection. It’s a really big place but always seems welcoming and the bartenders are great- the beer selection is crazy and I never know what they are or how to choose but the bartenders will tell me about the different types and let me try ones that sound good- and they have a full bar and cocktails too. I really like this place and everyone I bring loves it too. Great spot for sure!
This is one of my favorite places to go to. A nice sized bar and a wide selection of beers to choose from. The games range from your classics to more modern titles. There's enough variety to entertain most people. It can get crowded during peak hours so I like to go in the afternoon before 6 pm on the weekends. That way you can have space to comfortably play and enjoy your beverage. I've been multiple times since it opened at this location and NEVER had any issues or saw any issues while there. Everyone seems to be respectful and into having a fun time.

Such a nostalgic spot for gen-xers and millennials. If you're looking for a little childhood fun with adult drinks. Barcade can't miss! \nThe bar keep is top notch! Great service!
Great bar! Only writing this review because I saw others say the door guys rude. Not the case. Just have your id! Very well run business. Very fair prices for Manhattan! Will be back!

Nice bar where you can grab a drink and play a good variety of arcade games with friends. *They check your ID before you can enter. The games all require these tokens to play or u can use quarters. They have exchange machines inside for the tokens in case you dont have any coins. Some of the games required more tokens than the others. Overall, it was a nice place to visit.
I had so much fun at this location. Enough room where the crowd isn’t over whelming and still had room to enjoy the games. Could definitely make a friend here or there or play with randoms. The pinball machines are so cool; the margs were so good and strong too.
This was a fun place to hangout to play retro arcade games and drink. They have a good amount of games (they have 4 player pacman!) and a large space so you’re not crammed. They have a large craft beer selection, and their prices are decent! The food is typical bar food, tastes better after drinking. They have some tables along with bar space, which is nice!
If you’re into retro arcade games, check out this place. Not much different than other arcade bars I’ve been to in various other cities but I did like how the high scores were posted on a chalkboard along the back wall. The games run on tokens and there’s 2 machines that dispense tokens, about 25 or 50 cents to play. The drinks were fairly inexpensive ($7-9 a pint, $6 a shot) and I didn’t try the food but it looked good.
Prefer this location over downtown. Bigger, more open space, and better-maintained in my opinion. We went earlier in the day shortly after they opened, so everything was very clean and in order (including the bathroom). Most arcades token operated...taking 1-2 tokens for most games. Tokens can be purchased from machines throughout the space at 0.25 cents each.. (4/$1, 20/$5...). Service both at the bar and at the arcade area were great. Nice to see staff testing out the machines throughout the space. All machines we tried were working as expected. Beer prices were fair (for NYC) at about $8. Pints for the more common weaker stuff (under 6% or so) and 10oz. pours for the stronger stuff. Very easy to get to in the midtown area...lots of major stations and transportation hubs closeby. Given the average prices for beer and food, you'd definitely want to go there for the games...think of it is an arcade that serves beer and food...not a bar/restaurant with an arcade.
The games here are so much fun and really take you back (who doesn’t love Asteroids?). The beer selection features some great local favorites that you’ll definitely want to try. The vibe is that perfect mix of laid-back and lively—just the right size to feel buzzing without being too crowded.

An amazing place if you're looking for a fun spot to eat, drink and play. Unfortunately all of this becomes irrelevant once you interact with the bartenders there. As someone who isn't familiar with beers, I of course inquired what kind of selection they had as their menu doesn't have specific types ex. (Dark beer, Blonde, [country] lager). And their menu full of filler text instead of being straight forward. I kindly asked one of the bartenders on further information and being met with a "The menus right there" and having it shoved in my face instead of trying to help and explain the selection. Luckily another bartender came over who didn't have an attitude instead was met with a "order fast and get outta my face". I was in a group and didn't wanna ruin our last night in the city, leaving an incredible sour mouth in my taste. Let's try to be a little more understanding. If you need a smoke break as it was obvious the bartenders needed to hit their pens go and do it and comeback with a come up. 0/5
I’m very torn on the number of stars to give. 1 Star for a great beer list. 2 Stars for having lots of great games. Loss of one star because it was way too warm inside and there are no places to hang your jacket, so you just have to carry it around if you aren’t lucky enough to get one of the few tables before you get there. I love this place outside of the “Happy Hour” timeframe. Just gets too packed.
Some of the machines swallow extra coins, but fun! A bit steep but use your tokens carefully and you’ll have lots of fun.
You don't come here for the food or drinks, you come here for the games and vibes. But they do have some nice beers on tap.
Had a good time, the chicken wings are pretty good.. I Played Street Fight Alpha 2, TMNT, a racing game, pinball and a few more. Game tokens are cheap too, reminds me of the 90's how you can be in the pizza shop playing games all day with just a few dollars in your pocket. I would say they can do better cleaning after customers who eat and leave, At least wipe the table down and the broken games should be removed and replaced with better classics games. Drinks were good too, We need Marvel vs Capcom in here! Overall fun night. Pull up and try it for yourself
We had a lot of fun hosting my work holiday party here. The only downside was the food setup—random people kept taking food—and although I paid extra for the soda package, every soda I tried tasted flat. That said, the food itself was good and the staff was very nice. The games were amazing and a ton of fun; they really brought me back to my younger days.
Firstly the bar staff was very attentive and nice and environment was cool. I was happy to see a trans flag behind the counter to know the place promoted inclusivity, however the security guard on the other hand seemed to have something against queer people or people in general lol I went to check my coat in the coat check and had asked him how his day was (as I do with literally everyone) and he was silent so I just shrugged it off and went back inside to play games with friends. Then when we were done, I went to grab my coat and, trying to be a decent human being, I tried to make conversation and say “I know you’re ready to go home huh” as it was late and proceeded to say “have a good night”. He then exploded at me and said to me “bro you’ve been trying to talk to me all night, this is sexual harassment, your sexually harassing me” I was so shocked because I was literally just trying to be kind. I laughed it off and left but then came back and told the bar staff what had happened cause I didn’t want anyone else to have the same experience.
the place is ok, no more than that the arcades dont work well ,the buttons are broken , and it feels like they will never fix them , they just want your money play how ever you can with what you have and thats it. you can not have a good time with a broken controller. the bartenders are a little lazy they work just like the games, sometimes good someothers a complete desaster.
I really wanted to go in, but the bouncer treated it like it was fort knox. He wanted to search our bags. We had nothing to hide, but it was a turn off and extremely unnecessary. It was not even seven p m. So we went to the bar around the corner instead. When I look at the reviews below, they all say the same thing. If they just changed the security guard they would probably be a lot more famous.

If I could give the service a 0, I would. I went here with my friend and had the most awful. experience. We sat at the bar for several minutes while the bartenders kept checking on already-seated patrons. We were also coincidentally the only Black people at the bar at the time, and it was NOT busy. There were even open seats. We left to play games due to the wait, and we immediately saw the bartenders tending to other patrons, who were not the same skin color as us. Awful experience. I would advise other Black people to not go here.
The place looks cute outside but the doorman that day I came is not friendly, forcing us to listen to him after we claimed we understand for multiple times. We feel uncomfortable so left.
Watered down drinks machines with issues.Go elsewhere . Spent almost 300$ on alcohol. WHAT EVER COCKTAIL YOU ORDER IT WILL BE BOMBED WITH 🧊. ITS BAD~ As for the machines, the best machine like street fighter alpha 3 , buttons don't work... Its immediately apparent that they DO NOT maintain the machines.
Spot is fine but the security guard was extremely rude and aggressive for no reason, as other reviews seem to mention as well. Completely ruined the night. Wouldn’t recommend going for that reason.
Javier the manager completely disrespected me on another level, he should not be the manager of this place. Dont even know what Barcade was thinking when they hired this guy. Incredible unprofessional
The bouncer is extremely rude (the big guy, not the one with dreads). Do not come here. I came here based on recommendation from Hyatt place but I regret it. I’ve asked the concierge at Hyatt place to never recommend this place to any guests. He asked me to stand to the left. I looked to my right, and he yells at me “what are you looking to the right for? Just do as I tell you” I’ve never had an experience like that in my life with any bouncer. He seriously needs to get fired right away and the owner of this place needs to do serious reconsideration of their security team. This wasn’t even the end of the conversation- he went back and forth with me 5 times asking me if “im good” even though I was trying to de-escalate.
Extremely disrespectful bar-tender with me and my friend we clearly didn’t want to help Us when we seat the bar for no reason. We got us a couple of drinks ( some Paloma drinks with mezcal) and he didn’t event mix them he just pour some juice into the glasses and give it to us when he confronted him about it he got hostile with my husband, I am not sure if he was racism or homophobic, or what but he didn’t seem to have any problem with anyone else but us, when I ask the security( a dark skin guy) about it he said that he has had multiple problems because of the same and if we would like we could call the managers the next day, he apologize but he said that he just worked there and he couldn’t do anything, I am not sure if anyone understand THIS IS NY this like that have cause and effect
i’ve been here multiple times with great experiences. Unfortunately this last one was insane. my bf and i went in on halloween night…. while playing a game he ended up reopening a cut in his finger and started to bleed… when i went up to the bar to ask for a bandaid and paper towels the old bald bartender completely ignored us for bout 2 minutes, after he finally helped us i simply asked if they had bandaids he looks at my bf finger and says “um im sure we do” then proceeds to go enter orders and check people out before even getting it….. when he finally did i just took them and didn’t say anything and he yelled “you’re welcome” at me i laughed and told him to do his job…. which really set him off because he came behind the bar and started approaching me screaming that’s not his job….as if he’s not.. in.. service… work.. insane lmao.my bf had to hold him back? he told security to kick us out when we were already on our way and i told them i wouldn’t be paying which they didn’t charge us(they knew they messed up clearly) and security even said he wasn’t told about all that and was sorry. not to mention we saw the bartenders take multiple shots…. so they clearly employ old lazy/angry drunks
I’m totally disappointed!!! I came all the way from Panama finding a retro 80s Arcade and they rejected me because im underage and only people of 21 years old can enter!! They should make another local for underage people/all ages who like retro stuff.
Horribly crowded, loud & obnoxious crowd Belligerent security guard at the door Save your money and don't waste your time The only cool thing we're the nostalgic arcade games. Not worth even checking out the games, the vibe & atmosphere were so bad. NEVER, EVER AGAIN!!
