Preguntas frecuentes sobre Downtown Burritos
Opiniones de Downtown Burritos New York
Ive been eating at Downtown Burrito for decades (since they were called Downtown Bakery!). Never disappoints!
I stumbled upon this place by accident and have been back many times. As a vegetarian, it's hard to find a breakfast burrito with so much flavor, but they've outdone themselves. I've recommended it to everybody. The workers are kind, and the food is fast; unequivocally, the best breakfast burritos I've tried on the East Coast.
Just ate here for breakfast after my sister recommended the place. Steak breakfast burrito with potatoes was amazing and delicious, will be coming here next time I’m in nyc.
I only would go back because of Mario! Please make him GM. Best customer service ever! Also best tacos in the city
This was a great find for a busy Sunday in NYC! Everywhere was packed and we wanted good food. Came here and were able to order right away and sit down. Menu is extensive and everything looked really good. Food came quick. I got the chilaquiles and my friend got the burrito. Both were amazing. Prices were fair and we enjoyed sitting in this cute restaraunt.
A hidden gem in the East Village! I ordered the chicken enchiladas with mole poblano sauce and was seriously impressed. The chicken was tender and well-seasoned, and the tortillas held their shape perfectly without getting soggy. The star of the dish was definitely the mole poblano sauce—rich, deep, and full of flavor. It’s got that perfect balance of smoky, spicy, earthy, and a hint of sweetness. Even though the dish might look a little "unusual" at first glance, trust me—it tastes amazing. The sauce really takes everything to the next level. Highly recommend if you’re craving authentic, flavorful Mexican food that hits all the right notes.
Downtown bakery’s sudden closure nearly a year ago was as cataclysmic a loss of any restaurant could be for a neighborhood that has no shortage of restaurants— but surprisingly few Mexican restaurants that are affordable and delicious, and most importantly, do breakfast burritos in the morning. Their return is a blessing. The menu has been tightened up and the interiors refinished, but the food is the same. Their breakfast burrito is essential east village. Go order it and let’s hope this restaurant never closes again.
As of last Friday, Downtown Bakery-- err, I mean, Downtown Burritos, as the former employees have bought the business and renamed it from the former owner! What you'll get now is the same amazing quality and service by the guys behind the counter but with a chic, renewed, and renovated dining area. While I lament the tribute Mets' flag that hung next to some photographs, I enjoy the blank slate for many new exciting things to take fold. Check out the nicely made wooden bench they have for those dining in. I chowed down on the veggie burritos made with spinach and green peppers, doused with their delicious green hot sauce and sour cream.
The tamales are excellent. That’s a litmus test for me. They don’t serve them in the husk which is fine. A huge menu with a large variety. If there is something you want and it is not listed just ask them. Best for takeout and to get something quick. The food is authentic and it’s a great value for the neighborhood.
Not impressed with the food as it was very bland and didn't have any sauces in it. I asked for jalapenos and got 4 from a jar. I thought this was supposed to be "authentic". I had to also ask for hot sauce which was a squeeze bottle at the counter. I've eaten better Mexican food in Texas.
