If you’re Indian looking for good authentic Indian food, this is the place. If you’re not, but are still looking for the same, this is still the place. The food is delicious and truly tastes like home, and I love everything on the menu. Plus, eating here is a lovely experience. It’s a staple.

Thank you Divya and Team!! We did the large catering order for our company event and the food (Samosas, Chole, Paneer Makhani, Biryani) was very delicious and authentic. They did the delivery on time and were very accommodating with all of our requests.

We had an absolutely delightful experience at Veeray Da Dhaba! The food was outstanding, bursting with authentic flavors that truly captured the essence of traditional Punjabi cuisine. Every dish we tried was cooked to perfection, with just the right balance of spices and freshness. The service was equally impressive— attentive, friendly, and efficient, making us feel welcomed from the moment we walked in. I highly recommend Veeray Da Dhaba to anyone craving delicious food and excellent service. Will definitely be back!

I went in craving some naan and a quick meal. The KINDEST woman helped me and serviced me, making me feel so welcome as a solo diner! Food was amazing!!!! My fav was their aloo starter (I forgot the name but it is the potato fritter w chickpeas and tomatoes). I will def come back! What made me love this spot was truly the service. I wish that I asked for her name, I would put it here for all of you to read about!

This Indian restaurant is a total standout. Best butter chicken I’ve ever had, insanely flavorful dishes, and warm, unforgettable service. A neighborhood gem. Full Review: This Indian restaurant is a total standout. Best butter chicken I’ve ever had, insanely flavorful dishes, and warm, unforgettable service. A neighborhood gem. We’ve officially found our go-to Indian spot, and honestly, it might be the best Indian food in the area. My partner and I were so blown away, we came back three times in one week. The space is clean, cozy, and welcoming. The staff? Incredibly kind and attentive. Lakshmi went above and beyond. Her recommendations weren’t just good—they made our entire experience unforgettable. Now for the food: Butter Chicken – Unbelievably good. Creamy, perfectly spiced, and the chicken was insanely tender. Easily some of the best we’ve ever had. Lamb Chops and Tandoori Chicken – Bursting with flavor, juicy, and perfectly cooked. The sides that come with the lamb chops had us in heaven. Carrot Pudding – Yes, this dessert deserves its own shoutout. It's rich, warm, and one of the best sweet dishes we’ve had in the neighborhood. Every single bite was packed with flavor. No matter your spice preference, they get it just right. This place isn’t just a hidden gem. It’s a must-visit for anyone who loves Indian cuisine. We'll be coming back again and again.

We had a fantastic experience at Veeray da Dhaba. It was a Sunday night walk-in for the five of us, and we were lucky enough to be seated right away by Shivam. We got straight to ordering our food from their very reasonably priced menu, which included appetizers Achari Paneer ($10), Samosa Chaat ($9), and Achari Chicken Tikka ($10). Our mains included Goat Biryani ($20) and an extremely delicious Jackfruit Biryani ($17) - an absolute treat for Vegetarians or prior meat eaters who turned Vegetarians like me. The Dhaba Dal ($16) was delicious and was thoroughly enjoyed by our little one. Specific shoutout to Sanjeeda who was very friendly, accommodating and interacted with our little one and made it a pleasant experience for all of us. Also to our host Shivam for being kind enough to waive off our corkage fee!

My friend brought me here for dinner and let me just start off by saying this is by far one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to in NYC. It’s pretty small, but it’s cozy. The staff are very friendly and attentive to your needs. We ordered a couple of main things: the Samosa Chaat, Butter Chicken (mildly spicy), Paneer Makhani, Lentil, 2 Butter Naans, and Basmati rice. Everything was absolutely delicious. I would definitely come back here again whenever I’m craving Indian food, and I definitely recommend stopping by, especially if you’re in the area.

Small hidden gem in this area, this spot is a wonderful concentrate of kindness and tastefulness. In a month I kept coming back, trying a lot of chickens with great pleasure. The last time I ate there, a week ago, a couple of Indians from Mumbay were there eating by chance too, for the first time, and they confirmed the quality of the food, I've experimented all the times. Very suggested! Chicken Korma, my best choice (my Karma). Just writing about it make me miss. Very curious to try the new concept restaurant that will open soon 45th St and 3rrd Av, as I learned from rhe kind and smiling staff. It has been 30 years I travel to New York. There's always the possibility to discover new magic places to eat. This is surely one of them! I realized that I didn't take many photos of the dishes (too commited to eat). A reason to come back soon. Warm memory of the experience. Thanks.

WOW! Insanely authentic and tasteful Indian cuisine. I highly recommend this place whether it’s your first time trying Indian or your 20th time. The menu comprises select dishes because they pride themselves on serving dishes that they make perfectly. It was my first time trying goat and I was so happy I took our waiters recommendation to order the Bhuna Goat curry. Super awesome staff which just added to the experience! I wish I could order something new and eat at this cozy establishment every week!

This food here is so delicious and flavorful. The first time I went I was so blown away by the flavors, I had to go again the next week because I kept thinking about it. The waitress recommended the aloo tikki chole which was addictive. Now it is my go to. I also loved the chicken korma, which was a little bit spicy. There is a ton of vegetarian options so I will definitely be bringing my vegetarian friends here!

A tiny store front offers amazing flavors. Great sauces with chicken apps, 3 different naan and rotis. Bbiryani and saag came out hot and flagrant, and heat one of the lamb dishes is for real native hot! Suggest getting the in store made mango lassi to cool off. Took a little time for dishes to come out in waves, but definitely worth it.

I’ve been here 7 times. This is my favorite restaurant in NYC. I order Goat Biryani every time I dine in here or get take out here; and the dish is an extraordinary and purifying experience. I go here to erase the memory of any recent bad dining experiences. And it’s affordable!

Vegetarian food is spot on! Fresh and tasty main appetizers, especially aloo tikki with chole and bhel puri. Dal makhani and paneer makhana were fingerlicking. Rasmalai was so so good. Try this place if you are around. My friend tried Chicken biryani and wasn't convince but rest all were amazing. Friendly staff.

Very nicely done Paneer Vindaloo, however, it took 3 attempts with several different wait staff to be able to order this. It gave the impression that certain items may not be made to order but it was hard to tell what was going on. The food itself was great, nice spicy curry and fresh paneer. Rice is not included here and is a $4 charge. The colorful far far were quite salty.

The host was friendly . For my taste, food was mix of okay and good and . Couple them were great ! In starters , we ordered paneer pakoda and dhabe wala gobi . Gobi was sweet like desert and disappointing. Paneer pakoda was also disappointing. In main course, we ordered butter paneer, bhindi masala, chhole pindi , pepper chicken and chicken biriyani . Biriyani was good . Pepper chicken was great!!! Bhindi masala was very good as well . Rest were average. The tandoori roti was good and the pooris were the best . Because of the great taste poori and pepper chicken, I will give 4 star.

We tried this restaurant for the first time and had some good experience. Ordered variety of dishes and they were almost good. There mutton kabob are perfect and tasted so delicious. Curries were also tasty. They had different naans on the menu. We tried jack fruit biryani for the first time and honestly not the best. Flavor was ok but we did not like it very much. May be the jack fruit idea is not our thing. The ambiance is neat and well maintained. The service is also good and fast. Overall this is a decent place to have Indian food.

Decent Indian spot. Had the lunch special with saag paneer. Came with naan which was cooked perfectly (thin, a bit crispy, not doughy). Also had the butter chicken which was good but not at Curry Corner in Lacey WA level.

⭐ Overall Rating: 7/10 The service here was absolutely incredible — warm, attentive, and really elevated the overall experience. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite match the same level. The Achari Paneer was decent but lacked the signature achari punch I was hoping for (6/10). The Jackfruit Biryani was underwhelming — it didn’t have enough salt or biryani flavor, and felt more like a pan-tossed masala rice (5/10). The Veeray Di Gobhi was disappointing too — only four pieces for $10, i’d love to pay more and not compromise in quantity, and they tasted more like cauliflower tossed in a generic sweet-and-tangy sauce rather than something distinctive (5/10). On the positive side, the Amritsari Chole were absolutely amazing — perfectly spiced and paired beautifully with the puris (10/10). The Chicken Bukhni Kebab was flavorful and well-cooked, though not particularly standout (8/10). Overall, the experience was a mix: top-notch service and a couple of solid dishes, but much of the food could use more depth, seasoning, and authenticity.

Mediocre at best!! You can find better options in Manhattan. Utterly disappointed by the food that was served to us. The website claims that this place is owned by Chef Hemant Mathur, who's the first Indian Chef to earn a Michelin Star in the US, however the food that we had did not do any justice to that claim. From the very beginning, we called to book a reservation a day earlier, and were assured that it had been confirmed. When we showed up at the restaurant, we were told that there was no reservation in the system, even though they verified the phone number which we used to make the reservation. We were seated after waiting for about 10-15 minutes. We ordered the Chicken Kabab appetizer, which was good, but everything entree we ordered after that went downhill. We ordered the Dhaba Dal, Chicken Biryani, Sarson Ka Saag with Makki ki Roti and Pindi Chole The best dish was just the saag, the makki roti was tasteless and pulled down a really good saag instead of elevating it. Everything else felt like it had been cooked at someone's home as opposed to a roadside Punjabi Dhaba alongside Indian highways as the website claims. We ended up feeling that we can cook better food at home than paying for this meal. I have never had such flavourless food on any roadside Punjabi dhaba in India. I am sure NYC has better Punjabi food to offer than this.
