Great atmosphere! Food was delicious! My friend almost choked and Julia saved him. She also has great recommendations. Couldn’t ask for anything more! Will definitely be visiting again soon!

Nice place and great staff. Food was good, but on the expensive side. Seems like a casual pizza / Italian place.

Glad we invested in the wait. Overall good. Food and service was good. Can't wait to try more dishes next time. The one disappointment was the chocolate flourless cake tasted stale. Would normally give less stars for ending on a bad note but giving benefit of doubt that next time will be a strong finish.

We just ate here tonight! It was a very enjoyable evening. The pizza was very good. I had prociutto, arugula and cheese pizza. We sat in the open area so we could enjoy the weather and people watch. I will eat here again!

The food is excellent. We had the carmine pizza with hot honey and eggplant parmesan with house wine. The eggplant was fabulous and I'm picky. Our waiter,Quinn, was awesome!

Exquisite. Authentic New York pizza. Prices normal compared to everywhere else nowadays, but quality is way higher than everywhere else. I’ve found that lots of pizzerias “shrink” their pies to save money lately. Not La Porta. And it just tastes perfect. Just right all around—crunch, heat, cook time, cheese to sauce ratio—everything. And the chicken rolls were heavenly. I ate two hours ago and cannot stop thinking about how much I want more. Well done. God bless La Porta. Best pizza you can find on Long Island.

Delicious wood fired pizza served off a blessedly uncomplicated menu. Situated across from the Shipwreck Diner at the foot of Main. Ingredients are fresh. Service is competently provided by a young wait staff. The front of the restaurant is often open on warm days, and you can linger over an espresso and watch the families walking by on Main street.

This spot is a slice of Italy in the heart of Northport 🇮🇹✨ Started with a round of crispy calamari — light, golden, and the marinara was straight fire 🔥 I went with the Lucas Branzino, pan-seared and served over risotto and spinach in a dreamy white wine butter sauce. Paired it with a glass of cabernet and didn’t want the night to end 🍷 Definitely making this my go-to date night spot!

June 1, 2025 My wife and I usually grocery shop on Sundays. After shopping we genarally pick up food for dinner close to the Stop and Shop. Since we were very pleased with the food when we ate at La Porta we decided to get take out from them. We were not disappointed! After putting the groceries away we enjoyed our take home choices: calamari with marinara sauce, rigatoni and an arugula/beet salad. I will not hesitate to get take out from here again! May 10, 2025 My wife and I went to lunch with our son at La Porta last Saturday. We were celebrating my birthday and Mother’s Day. This is the first time we’ve eaten at this restaurant. We were very happy with our food and the atmosphere of La Porta. We had calamari and the arugula/beet salad as appetizers. My son had the chicken parmigiana hero and my wife and I split the chicken piccata entree. I recommend La Porta and will definitely eat there again!!

Stopped there to eat based on a recommendation. Instead of ordering pizza we order pasta dishes. The scampi pasta was totally out of control amazing. My wife ordered the broccoli rabe and sausage pasta and that too was just crazyicious What an amazing pasta menu. We will try.the other offerings next time. We returned to the restaurant later that weekend to try the pizza that was recommended and we both liked it as it was baked in a very cool looking wood pizza oven imported from Italy. We have been to Italy several times we don't think there is better pizza than the pizza we had in Naples at a ferry terminal waiting to go to Positano. Our experience!!!

I rarely write reviews, but La Porta was too good to not review! Came here over the weekend and everything was perfect- from the service, to the decor, to of course the pasta! I ordered the preferito with rigatoni it was amazing! We also tried the eggplant parm and the ama la carne pizza. Everything was delicious, if you’re in Northport or not and want to make the trip- La Porta is definitely worth the visit!

My daughter & I came in for lunch today and we absolutely loved it! The best pizza we have had on LI and La Porta Spritz was refreshing! Reminds us of a place in Brooklyn we used to go to. Our server was terrific, the host was fabulous and we LOVED the decor! Looking forward to coming back with more family and friends!

Newish, family-owned and good for gluten-free! La Porta opened less than a year ago, replacing a nasty pizza takeout place. It’s been upgraded a ton, and serves traditional Italian-American fare, wood-fired pizza, and a full bar, including some Long Island microbrews. They have gluten-free pizza crust, gluten-free penne, and a special gluten-free entree, Chicken Leonard, which I thoroughly enjoyed. No ill effects. Service is attentive without being intrusive. Prices are pretty good for the Northport waterfront, with a meal running $25-$35 per person, not including alcohol. My girlfriend had the Chicken Parm and loved it! And she learned Italian cooking from her Sicilian nana! Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in the area.

La Porta is the perfect place for a family night out. The atmosphere is absolutely gorgeous and the aroma when you walk in is incredible - it sets the tone for an amazing meal. The food and drinks were delicious and everything is made in-house from the dough to the sauces to the mozzarella. The kids haven’t stopped raving about the giant mozzarella sticks served with both marinara and vodka sauce! The wood-fired pizza and fresh pasta were also outstanding. You couldn’t ask for a more attentive or welcoming staff. We even got to meet the owner, Rob who came over to check in and chat with us - such a class act and very passionate about what he does. We’ll definitely be back often. Highly recommend! La Porta is a must-visit. Taste for yourself!

Top of the line food, entertainment, and not to mention beautiful surrounding location right on the Long Island Sound. Easily the best Eggplant Parm I've ever had in my life. Unique and delicious menu in general (ex: the mozzarella sticks come with vodka and marinara sauce. Who else does that??). Owner Rob Simmons comes up with great dishes, runs the place perfectly, and is an all around great guy. Do not miss La Porta! PS these two guys Evan & James are insane musicians- go when they're playing!

I actually had a very good experience here- 2 weeks in a row. The pizza is very good. My daughter enjoyed her pasta. Decent selection of draft beer and we ate at the bar one week-Pat, a local guy bartends here, real good dude, then we sat at a table the next week. Service is great and the prices are average.

Tonight, Friday August 1st 2025 We went to La Porta. We ordered the Izabela pizza and the Stada pizza. Both were delicious. Good size pizza too. The other tables food looked delicious and steaming hot. our waitress Gianna was very attentive as was the rest of the staff. Will be back again. Highly recommend this restaurant. There is no reservations it's first come first serve.

Solid spot. La Porta in Northport absolutely hit the mark. The food was fantastic.  Pizza was killer, crust had that perfect crisp and you can tell everything’s made fresh. Place has a great vibe — not pretentious, just good energy and even better food. Met the owner Rob too. Great guy, came over to say hi and made sure we were all good. Looking forward to going back. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re missing out.

So cute! Their Buffalo pizza is amazing, it’s nice and simple, has the all the flavor but doesn’t have a lot of spice which was a plus for me. I also love their chicken piccata and the clams are nice and fresh. I’ve been many times.

I can’t say enough about LaPorta! It is certainly an amazing spot in a great location. The menu is filled with delicious pasta and pizza choices, as well as classic Italian starting courses. The drinks are fabulous and the desserts are off the hook. My go to is the vodka pie with sausage or meatball….thin crust….zero flop. This is real authentic Italian cuisine in Northport. Live music every weekend!! I couldn’t ask for more. Definitely a must!! Enjoy

Pizza was really good. Garlic knots not so much, but we loved the atmosphere of Northport. Replying to Owner's reply. It has been a while since this was posted 3 years ago. What I remember is that the Garlic Knots needed a little more garlic and salt. One thing I liked about previously living on Long Island is how the water there makes the dough taste better. Amazing though for me to see that the Knots picture is my highest viewing picture at over 368K views since posting it, but back then they weren't the best part of the meal. The best part is the atmosphere and location of the restaurant. We miss and still love Northport. Even after living in Colorado for the last 22 years, when we get back, we come to Northport to eat, socialize and enjoying the local establishments. Thanks for the reply and allowing me to clarify my taste buds.

We had an incredible experience at La Porta, everything from start to finish was perfect! Rob was absolutely wonderful. He went out of his way to make our visit feel special, and it truly showed. The food was outstanding. We were celebrating my daughter’s recital, and La Porta helped make the night unforgettable. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the service was top-notch, and the meal turned a meaningful moment into a truly special memory. We can’t wait to come back. Came here on a busy Saturday night with 2 young children. Hostess was amazing, they pulled two tables together for us so we didn’t have to wait with the kids. Great service! Waitress was great too, she had the kids food out quickly. Food was excellent, highly recommend the pesto pasta and margarita pizza! The kids spaghetti was homemade and delicious too. Wonderful experience! Will definitely be back!

I cannot say enough about La Porta. When rob and the crew first opened we were in love with the look and feel of the restaurant. The food itself is AMAZING. The pizzas come out quick and are so crispy (buffalo chicken and carmine are our faves) . The atmosphere is lively and the large wide open front facade adds to the ambiance. La Porta is a top notch Italian restaurant pizzeria and really looks out for their community. Hiring local high school kids and donating to local charities and events. If you want to have an amazing meal made by people that truly love what they do and who they serve, La Porta is the place hands down.

They did a beautiful job with La Porta! Myself and my family very much look forward to and love eating there, it's one of our new favorite spots! La Porta recently opened in the heart of Northport Village, and it’s already become one of my favorite spots. The space itself is beautifully designed with a sleek, modern aesthetic and cozy touches that make it feel welcoming. You can tell a lot of thought went into creating the perfect ambiance. From the get-go, the service was outstanding. The staff was super friendly and went above and beyond to accommodate us – from adjusting drinks to our preferences to checking in throughout the meal to make sure we were happy. It’s rare to feel so genuinely taken care of. We started with the giant mozzarella sticks and calamari for appetizers – both were crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The mozzarella sticks were gooey in the best way possible, and the calamari was tender and fresh. It was a great start that really set the tone for the rest of the meal. Drinks were also a highlight. Even though I wasn’t drinking alcohol, the bartender was happy to create some refreshing and delicious mocktails just for me. I really appreciated the extra effort to make sure I had a great experience. For my entrée, I had the spinach and artichoke pizza – hands down the star of the night. It was made in a brick oven straight from Italy, and you could really taste the difference. The crust was perfectly charred and crispy, while the toppings were creamy and savory. Absolute perfection! We also tried the housemade gnocchi, which was light and pillowy, with a delicious sauce that really tied it together. The eggplant parm was another hit – crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with flavor. Of course, we couldn’t skip dessert. The tiramisu was probably the best I’ve had in ages – so creamy, rich, and balanced with just the right hint of espresso. The tartufo was a fun treat, and to top it off, I had a cappuccino that was also imported straight from Italy. You can really taste the authenticity in every bite and sip. Overall, La Porta checks every box: amazing food, warm and attentive service, and a gorgeous atmosphere that makes you want to stay all night. I can’t wait to go back and try even more from their menu!

Popped by La Porta for a casual dinner and had an awesome experience. We started with the mini risotto balls, which were crispy on the outside and creamy inside, paired with their amazing marinara sauce that really brought it all together. For the main course, I went with the Lucas Branzino — pan-seared and served on a bed of risotto and spinach in a white wine butter sauce. It was so good, the fish was perfectly cooked, and the risotto was creamy and flavorful. Definitely a standout dish. And for dessert, the Affogato. It was made with real Italian ingredients, espresso, gelato with a little Kahlúa. It was the perfect sweet balance. To top it all off, I had a slice of the pistachio cheesecake, which was creamy and not too sweet. Perfectly rich and the perfect way to end the meal. Can’t wait to go back!!!

I was in the mood for something cozy and La Porta definitely hit the spot. Started with the homemade gnocchi in vodka sauce and it was amazing. The gnocchi was soft, just the right amount of richness, and the sauce had a perfect balance of creaminess and flavor. We also tried the Artichoke Pie — a wood-fired pizza with Alfredo, garlic, spinach, and parm. So good, definitely recommend it if you're a pizza person. Definitely a place I’ll be back to for more comfort food.

The Lucas branzino was perfectly seared and paired beautifully with risotto and spinach. The Antonio Amore rigatoni with sausage and broccoli rabe was hearty and comforting, and the Al Funghi pizza had incredible depth from the mushrooms and sweet onions. Had the best time at La Porta! The staff was incredible and the food was amazing. I had the gnocchi with tomato sauce, mozzarella sticks (their vodka sauce is one of my favorites), and the chicken ceasar salad pizza. They also have a full bar and I tried their Aperol spritz, La Porta Spritz, and the Ranieri, all so good and consistent! For dessert I had to try their chocolate flourless cake which all their desserts are imported from Italy, and an espresso martini. Overall, had a great experience and I can’t wait to come back!

La Porta 📍Northport, NY @laporta_northport This place is special! Newer to Northport and right in the heart of Main Street, La Porta is doing it right! The restaurant features authentic Neapolitan pizza made in their brick oven that they got imported straight from Italy. They also offer great appetizers, classic Italian dishes, and a full bar with handcrafted cocktails. Also, do not skip on their dessert including their pistachio ice cream, pistachio cheesecake, and classic tiramisu. We absolutely loved every bite and sip from this meal. The baked clams were fresh and flavorful. The pizza had a nice crisp with ingredients that paired excellent together. The entrees were delicious and the portions were pleasing, but not overwhelming, leaving you just enough room to indulge on one of their signature desserts. The service was excellent and very welcoming. Our server was nice to give her recommendations. We love it here and we know you will too! Arriving and getting to know Northport, a very busy place, and I really liked it. Walking and getting to know it, I was really drawn to La Porta restaurant. It was my first time here. Went here for the first time and will definitely be back! Very welcoming staff and excellent food. Our favorite was the Hot Honey pizza “Carmine”. Plenty of pepperoni and just enough kick! Also had a goat cheese salad and baked clams. There was live music the night we were there that was excellent. All in all very enjoyable evening, reasonably priced, great service and good food. Nice addition to Northport.

I have been loving La Porta since they opened. We had been lacking a local pizzeria in town for years but it was worth the wait. These guys put the extra time and effort into making the place look beautiful and we appreciate it. That oven from Italy is awesome and the pizza keeps getting better as they put the finishing touches on everything. Keep up the great work!

I’m from the Hamptons, Sag pizza, and brunettis pizza are the only good brick oven style pizza places. The revamped La Porta has to be one of the best Neapolitan/thin pizza I’ve ever had. The pizza style is kind of like Lucali BK style . Really good place. And not crazy expensive.

The entrees were delicious and the portions were pleasing, but not overwhelming, leaving you just enough room to indulge on one of their signature desserts. The service was excellent and very welcoming. Our server was nice to give her recommendations. We love it here and we know you will too!

Arriving and getting to know Northport, a very busy place, and I really liked it. Walking and getting to know it, I was really drawn to La Porta restaurant. It was my first time here. I loved the place, very comfortable with unique decor, pretty chairs, and the smell of the wood This is how they cook pizzas." The service was excellent. The girl who served us was very friendly, and the food was delicious. I recommend it. Cozy place and I always enjoy it in good company.

This place is absolutely phenomenal with amazing meals, service is out of this world. The atmosphere is approved! I give this 95.6/100%!

Such a great addition to Northport Village. The pizza was really delicious and the service was outstanding. The prices are very reasonable. Great tap beer selection, supporting local breweries.

I was skeptical when I found out that the new La Porta only sold pies, but I've since come to really enjoy this place, and am a frequent customer both for dine in and take out. My only concern is that I've never been to a pizza place on LI that doesn't serve garlic knots or garlic bread. There are not enough sides or appetizers that are worth the price when ordering take out. Just something for the owner to consider.

LaPorta has become my family's go-to in Northport Village. The imported brick oven running at ~800 degrees imparts a genuine taste of Italy that can't be beat. The hostesses, servers and runners are always friendly and attentive and the bartenders are pros. Yes, it gets very busy - because it's GREAT - be patient, it's worth it! Thank you Rob Simmons for this gift to Northport Village!

Their menu is small but that's a good thing because what they do they do amazing. Fresh gnocchi, meatballs that are incredible, you will not be disappointed.

Eggplant parmesan was really good. And a great value. Next time, I will get pizza, which seems to be their specialty with a great pizza oven!

Food is excellent. Prices are all over the place. Martinis are $18, while heros are $12-$14. There is no TV at the bar despite the wires being hooked up. Maybe that will change later on.

Good food, prices and service. We came on a Friday night, got seated quickly, but it took a while for our waittress to come over. We started with the espresso martini and the Amalfi. We had the pesto pasta and chicken parm. Food came out quick, service was good. We thought the servings were a little smaller than other places, and good, but not great. The drinks were good, also not great, and a little pricey, while the entrees were reasonably priced. Very cute place with outdoor seating and a bar, but only about 6 seats at the bar. Will come back to try other entrees.

I ordered there pizza and really wanted to like it. Unfortunately it was average at best. I put it on a par with Dominos. However, we also had an eggplant parm sandwich that was very good!

So this is my third time coming to LaPorta and every time I come I bring someone who hasn't been there before, the ambiance is great and its a clean place, market pricing, pizza was good. However this time I was very disappointented. First let me say I am a big fan of this type oven and pizza. Cooking this type pizzia at 900 degrees takes two minutes and I have been invovled in two pizza parlors in NYC that specialize in this type pie for more than ten years. We placed our order at 1:15 PM and the pizza showed up at 1:40 PM, 25 minutes is much to long granted they had a table of five guys that ordered five pies but still that is too long. More importantly in that 25 minutes that we sat there both staff members walked by our table and didnot notice both our water and soda glasses were empty. Nor did they notice when they brought the pizza that we had no water. To get the check we had to chase them down in there safe zone, the bar area where they were chatting it up. You need to do better on staffing I hope you find my comments constructive.

I went in with my girlfriend at 9pm on a Saturday, and it felt like we were interrupting an employee party since they were all either eating or drinking at the bar. Our order was rushed and they brought out our entrees before the appetizer because “the kitchen was closing”, even though it was 9pm and the website says they close at 11pm. They also messed up both of our entrees orders (we asked to sub grilled chicken with chicken cutlet, they said no problem, but both of our entrees came out with grilled chicken). The food itself was pretty good and the prices were high but not crazy high. Overall it was just an odd experience and felt unwelcoming.

Loved the idea of a good brick oven pizza in northport and was looking forward to opening. It takes time to get it right and hope the owner will learn and improve as it has great potential. The pizza should be better! The dough is kind of tasteless and the sauce is dull. We also had a calzone which was better and the marinara sauce that came with it was better than the pizza sauce. Ordered as an appetizer mozzarella and tomatoes. Small portion where the mozzarella was kind dry and plain and tomatoes could be better( felt like they got it at a grocery store and cut it up). Need better produce and have good olive oil and vinegar available. They try hard and care so hoping food will improve. The place is great, service was good but did not know the menu. We’ll come back in a few weeks and see if they improved as we would love for it to be successful!

After almost 2 years of waiting to have pizza on Main St tried a margarita pizza and sadly very disappointed. There was really no taste, thin sauce and a lot of crust and they don’t offer slices. The former owner had much better pizza. Go to Linda’s in Ft Salonga no comparison

Good food, but a little pricey for what I had. The chicken milanese only had one long, thin piece.

Really wanted to give this place 5 stars - so close to home . Went with friends and we all agreed that the Pizza would have been 5 star in our opinions however the crust was kind of tasteless it was missing something- I would say some salt . Hope the owners read this for the new location planned for Northport ! If so - it will be a home run - Northport is in dire need of a good Pizza joint !!!!

Well if you like your meatballs that are like over mixed and tough then this is for you. The Eggplant was passable and the chicken parm was over cooked. Apparently the personal pizzas are what you should be getting. Lunch time was an atmosphere of 20 somethings watching TV and on their phones in-between serving you. The bathroom was out of toilet paper and hand soap .... all this was at 12:30 in the afternoon. They need to do better it's Northport after all.

Only giving 2 stars due to the change. Long time Northportian here , came back to visit our go to pizza spot. We now live in Florida. I used to take my kids when they were little for our weekly pizza hangout. I was hoping they would still serve single pizza slices. Renovation and food is great (pizza was MUCH better before renovation though) but disappointed that we can’t just walk in for a slice. Honestly, my local New York style pizza in Florida is much better tasting and authentic than this pizza. It was a great joint for a mom and kids to have a simple meal, bring back pizza slices !

Stopped in for a quick lunch, Margarita pizza was ok, the dough was bland. The clam pizza was absolutely awful. First, there were almost no clams to be found, in fact there was far more RAW jarred chopped garlic than anything else. So much raw garlic that It was inedible. I was really looking forward to trying the place out as we have been watching and waiting for it to open. It is beautiful but they need serious help in the kitchen. I truly hope they get it

Service was really bad, Jv at best. Staff is not well trained at all. Dishes, (our main courses) were served 12 mins apart. My food was then cold with congealed sauce. It did not make for a pleasant dining experience at all. The general manager was absolutely no help whatsoever. Dare I say, lame. He did not offer to do anything to make me happy or even invite me back to give the Restaurant another try. The Barr staff had offered a free drink as a concession… However, I would’ve been trashed because I had no food in my belly. So what sense did that make??? Needless to say, both of our dining experiences was ruined as a result. Would love to see this place succeed however I can’t see it happening until they get a really good general manager who knows what they’re doing and how to run a tight ship. Also… Please hire some Experienced servers who know their Menu and the contents of cocktails when ordered. Again, I wanted to have hope for this place, but I’m not sure I can support them at this point… Which is really too bad

I’m sorry to post such a negative review but it is what it is. The food was decent to good (but not great) so there is hope. It was the service which was …well hard to comment on service when there was none. Multiple young waiters were standing around starting at their phones, hanging out and talking to each other and ignoring the customers—most importantly us. I had to track someone down for everything we wanted: Parmesan cheese, soda refill, to go box, the check, picking up the check when I wanted to pay. It was as if I was interrupting their hang out sesh. There were large plates at our place setting when we arrived. When they brought over our food on other plates, they just left the EIGHT large empty plates on our table, taking up all of this room. We pushed them out of the way but one would think you may want to remove them if they are not in use. EIGHT LARGE EMPTYL PLATES at our table. The one person who was working hard was an older woman who was the hostess, cleaning up, doing take out orders. Give her a raise, hire some attentive waitstaff, and can these lazy reluctant participants in your restaurant. Lastly on the food, two of us ordered calzones which came out literally ten minutes after the other peoples’ food. So I guess they take longer but maybe something they can fix.

My good friend was telling me about here experience here and since I've personally been served food with a roach I felt it important to share. She recently ate here and was served a salad with one tomato, one cucumber, and ONE ROACH. I've attached a photo since the dead roach was placed on top of her salad dressing cup. Management did not offer any apologies or compensation for this unacceptable service. Any restaurant with roaches in and or on their food should offer compensation and assure the customer they will deeply clean their restaurant and call an exterminator. Any other course of action is unacceptable, especially a pizza place in long island with all the competition.

Cute outside and good pizza. Terrible service, dirty tables, long wait times. Overpriced. Not worth its spot in the village, mostly everything is overcooked... except for the pizza, personally a bit too cheesy for me but to each their own. Caesar salad is good Linguine and wine sauce was gross...

Just had lunch here and the service was Slow and terrible. Food was not even hot. It tasted as if it sat for a long while prior to giving it to me. Servers not attentive at all. It’s like I had to do his job for him. Won’t ever return to this place.

Some of the worst pizza I’ve ever eaten in New York: very chewy, poor in flavor, and waaaaay too small for the price. We ordered three different pies, all of which were a waste of money. Ignore my service rating, I ordered takeout, and clicked stars on it by accident The interior looks nice at least, but it’s not worth it in my opinion if the food is saddening.

Unfortunately with the new renovation/ownership or whatever happened… this place went from a go-to pizza spot to a complete scam of a restaurant. The food was disgusting, I won’t even get into it. My main issue was when a server brought over 2 salads to our table. We ordered one salad and assumed they split it onto two plates for us which would have been very nice. However, after a few minutes the server came back and said “sorry these weren’t for you” picked up the salads and BROUGHT THEM TO ANOTHER TABLE!!! We breathed on those salad for 5+ minutes and my boyfriend touched his… Regardless, this is a HUGE safety issue. And as mentioned, food was really really bad and extremely overpriced. I’m truly sad with what this place has become. Go to the nice new hotel down the street and spend the same amount of money for a much better experience.

We ordered the calzone with meatballs and the 12” buffalo personal pizza. Both items were bland and the crust was chewy. The calzone must have had only 2 oz of sliced meatballs in it and the rest was cheese and the same with the buffalo pizza. It was very disappointing to say the least.

I grew up going to la porta pizza. I'm 24 and since early teenager till about 19 I would go with my girlfriend of 10 plus years to la porta pizza quite often. It was the best pizza in northport. Fast forward to it closing down and being revamped. I pay $17.38 after tax for a maybe 10 inch personal pizza pie that was suppose to be 12 inch. (They told me they don't have regular sized pies, so I went with the 12 inch). The pizza is now horrible in taste and quality (it looks like a frozen precooked pizza and looks like it was made with kraft parmesan cheese). Only thing I can say is good is the new look of the place and the workers are very polite. I'll never be going back unfortunately. Yours truly..... Lady Whistledown

Stopped by on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, sat outside with our pooch and ordered a ceaser salad and NY pizza. Long story short, bought out our salad, before we got plates or utensils, once we got our utensils the salad was ok, but had to eat it off the bread plates because the server never came back with our plates, the pizza was dropped off at our table by another older guy and we still had no plates. When we got plates the pizza was COLD and actually rubbery, maybe somewhere in the world this might be the norm. But pizza is supposed to be served piping hot and this was not! It was not good at all. Did not charge us for the inedible pie. So ok, the servers were nice but need training.

Ordered 2 pepperoni pies. Told 25 minutes. Arrived in 15 to find them sitting on a stool behind the host podium. (2) 12” pies were $39. Expecting delicious pizza for the ridiculous price. Got home and found 1 had NO pepperoni. Ate 2 slices of the pie that had no pepperoni. Was completely flavorless and dense. Would not have again even if it was free. Restaurant hot a facelift but food is awful.

C
Chuz Alert

They ruined it. From a causal pizza place to a fancy pizza restaurant. Was much better when you could walk in grab a slice for 3 dollar then walk out. Now you have to sit down and order a personal pie which at minimum is 18$. And for 18$ it’s not great. There are much better local pizzerias when you get better pizza for cheaper. Overall super disappointed and wish it never changed.

I was very excited to try La Porta for the first time but I was sorely disappointed. I ordered over the phone to pickup spaghetti with turkey meatballs + garlic and oil for myself and spaghetti with meatballs for my husband My grandson, a sweet boy, picked up the food and when he arrived back home with the food, I became deeply saddened as all my hopes for La Porta faded into oblivion — they messed up my order: I was given a small portion of spaghetti with just a tiny bit of oil and garlic, maybe enough for a side dish but nowhere near enough food for dinner. While I was annoyed the meatballs were forgotten, I was more annoyed that they gave me so little spaghetti. Even worse, the noodles were tasteless and pasty — it was bad but it wasn’t the worst. My husband was content with his meal but also felt the pasta was lacking in numbers. Prices are reasonable but seems like it’s because they don’t give much food.

We are not a happy camper at this moment . We re not being used of being served of foods altogether. We haven't started our appetizer and drinks yet and they already served our main courses. It’s like we’re being warned that we have to eat as fast as possible as we can. We don’t have time to talk and laugh. We’re just like really !!! No going back our first and last. We should dined to Main street cafe .

Be Cautious When Paying! My recent experience at La Porta left a sour taste, not because of the food itself, but due to a troubling incident with their staff. I ordered a margarita pizza to go, which was priced at $19.55. When I went to pay, I handed the hostess a $50 bill. To my surprise, she returned only $0.45 in change, claiming I had given her a $20 bill. This was incredibly frustrating, as I distinctly remember handing her a $50. She took the money over to the bartender, and upon returning, adamantly denied receiving the larger denomination. Both the hostess and the bartender seemed to be in cahoots, and I left feeling ripped off and frankly, quite angry. As for the pizza, it was just okay. Nothing remarkable, certainly not good enough to outweigh the feeling of being scammed. My strong advice to anyone visiting La Porta is to be extremely careful when paying, especially with cash. Double-check your change and consider paying with exact change or a credit card to avoid any similar issues. It's a shame that a simple take-out order turned into such a negative experience due to dishonest staff.

We were seated promptly before dinner rush - 4;45 pm. Waited an hour for an appetizer that never showed up or our entrees. Waiter provided no meaningful updates. Spoke with manager and told him we were leaving. He did comp us our cocktails. Complete failure of service. We will NOT be back.
