I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. The food is always absolutely amazing. The view is astounding. This past weekend, I hosted a bridal shower at this venue. Angie, the event manager went above and beyond. Mark, the owner personally came out to greet us. Randy was our assigned server for the day. He was Fabulous in every way. I highly recommend this establishment for cocktails, lunch, dinner, and especially for any event. You can be sure that the staff at waterways will go the extra mile to make your day perfect!
Meeting with friends for a civilized lunch. Seated outdoors ... Great atmosphere. Quiet, so easy to chat and catch up. The food was delicious from the stone crab claws and conch chowder all the way through to the unimaginable size of the snickers dessert. My beet and goat cheese salad was devine. Thanks to our server, Christopher, I added grouper. The Argentinan steak sandwich was so flavorful. And we had a shrimp stir fry also. What a wonderful way to spend the holidays.
This review went above and beyond my expectations. We went here for our grandsons birthday and it was fantastic. The greeters, hostess, waitress, food, and atmosphere were simply amazing! The food was hot and delicious! Even our grandchildren ate their food! That in itself was a first! We will definitely go back. There are fish in the waterway that the kids could feed and the waitstaff even gave them fish food! Also a beautiful floating bar!! Of course the view was spectacular as well! Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience you deserve a 10!
Upon a recommendation from a fellow Yelper, Paul and I had an early dinner at Waterway Cafe since we happened to be close by after a doctor appointment. What a lovely and serene place this was especially since we sat outside on the deck overlooking the water and the various boats sailing by. One in fact docked to have dinner here. Savanna was our adept and friendly waitress. She gave us time to review their 3 menus 1. Specials. 2. Happy Hour. 3. Regular dinner menu. We had happy hour drinks first and a couple of appetizers/ the Calimare was delish and the crab cake was one of the best and beautifully presented. I had the Chicken Milanese which was a very generous portion- I took half home. And Paul had MACADAMIA CRUSTED CHILEAN SEABASS He gobbled it up which he never does. I agreed that it was amazing. We indulged in cappuccino and a very light and delectable pistachio cheesecake. Wow! I just loved sitting there and didn’t want to leave. We look forward to returning and introducing our friends to it.
My wife and I celebrated a very special Valentine’s anniversary this evening at the Waterway Café. Forty years ago today, we moved back in together after three marital separations. By God’s grace, He healed our marriage and family, and we’re now approaching our 52nd wedding anniversary. We enjoyed a beautiful evening at an outdoor table with perfect weather. The food was extraordinary — the fish dip, crab salad, and king prime rib were all fantastic! Our server, Sophia, was outstanding — knowledgeable, attentive, and always serving with a warm, genuine smile. She even took our photo by the water, giving us another memory to cherish from this special day. We’re so thankful for the wonderful experience and everyone who made our evening perfect. It truly couldn’t have been better. We’ll definitely be back!
Great view on the water and friendly service. Service was also quick! Only constructive criticism I have is for the Shrimp Po boy. It could use a little more shrimp and a little more Po. The bread was good but not proportionate to the shrimp. It was delicious, just needed more Po!
My Monday lunch date was awesome the food, service and atmosphere at Waterway café was top tier 10/10 recommend. Ask for Sasha and be sure to eat outside to see the beautiful intercoastal waterway.
Rainy when we arrived but cleared up. Sat on patio, magnificent! Paris our server knew everything and following her suggestions we had the crab spinach artichoke dip, lobster shrimp stir fry, and crab stuffed yellow tail snapper. We took peanut butter cake home and it was SO GOOD. The double rainbow was the icing on the cake. Beautiful location, beautiful food, and every person we passed was very nice. Thank you.
I want to say thank you so much to waterway Café and especially our server and hostess Lisa!!! We held our staff Christmas party and happy hour here and it was such a wonderful evening to sit outside. The food was absolutely delicious and the appetizers and desserts recommended were spot on. We had such a wonderful time and I sincerely want to say thank you! Merry Christmas!
My husband and I went here for my birthday. We had the best service and food. There was an issue with my husband's steak but the owner couldn't have been more agreeable and he was brought a whole new plate. We sat out by the water on the floating bar and watched the boats go by, so relaxing. We will definitely be back
Our server, Hardley, was great! He was very patient with my elderly Aunts that were visiting from Georgia. The food and drinks were perfect. We sat outside and they enjoyed watching the boats pass by. I highly recommend this newly remodeled restaurant.
Love Waterway! My friend flew in for the weekend and we had an absolute blast here! The scenery is fantastic. We ordered the crab cakes, Spicy Tuna Stack, and the Conch fritters. Everyone enjoyed each appetizer! The drinks were also fantastic I got the costal reef rita. Definitely recommend and will be back soon!
Nice and new renovation. I have been so anxious about the new opening of this restaurant for awhile. I already love the location and the vibe. The whole menu changed which I love. The price gone up over double but I love the food now, just not everyday dinner spot anymore. We love everything we tried. The gratuity included system is rubbing me in a bad way but that’s ok, I tip more anyway. It’s just blah. The car valet is annoying , I wish they didn’t occupied almost the whole parking lot for valet. Plus when we got the car the valet guy couldn’t pull our car to the front because of the traffic jam. What a joke that we had to walk for valet.
After an appointment with Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, my party of four stopped here for lunch. It was the first time for all of us and was recommended by a staff member of Bascom. We all had a wonderful experience. We were greeted with smiles and were seated in a booth overlooking a spectacular view. Our server, Paris, was very attentive and friendly. We ordered the crab cake and the spicy tuna for the table. Both were phenomenal! I ordered the Roasted Beet & Goat Cheese Salad. The rest of the table ordered Shrimp Stir Fry. All of us were extremely happy with our choices. Paris recommended the Orange Florida Sunshine Cake for dessert. It was delicious, moist and large enough for us to share. The beet salad was refreshing and plentiful! The Stir Fry serving was ample as well, but no one had any leftovers to take home! We all had a GREAT time! Thank you Paris for your hospitality and lively personality! I highly recommend Waterway Cafe
The renovations turned this place complaining around! It was absolutely delicious from start to finish, accommodating our large party, beautiful ambiance and awesome service! Cannot wait to go back!
So, this 60 year old Cards fan and her 80 year-old mother recommended this place to me today and... I wish there was a way to thank them. Don't go anywhere else of you haven't tried this place--it's awesome. Fast service, food is properly cooked and fresh. Our waitress made a few recommendations that we tried and loved-- Appetizer: Blasted Shrimp was just perfect mix if you like something hot or Their Crab Cake was great. Entre: Seafood Rigatoni--I was skeptic because scallops have to be perfect to make this dish and I loved it. The sauce is sweet. Also I tried the Blackened Bass, which they don't always have, but it was also good. They have specials through the week and discounts, but it was great quality for the price value. Enjoy!
We were looking forward to visiting Waterway Cafe after its renovations, and our recent experience certainly lived up to the excitement. Naturally, we chose to sit outside to enjoy the view of passing boats and the pleasant February weather. Our server, Chris, went above and beyond, sharing insights about the new menu and his favorite dishes. We began with the conch fritters, which Chris highly recommended, and they were incredibly fresh. It's been a while since I tasted such high-quality conch fritters. For our main courses, I opted for the beet salad paired with blackened grouper, while my husband enjoyed the blackened grouper sandwich. Both dishes were delicious and generously portioned, allowing us to take home some leftovers. We’ll definitely return! Thank you, Chris, for the amazing dining experience!
Just had my daughters bridal shower at Waterway Cafe. What a great experience. The wait staff was amazing. Best I have ever had. Everything came out perfectly timed, food was excellent. They served 35 people without a hitch. Angie the manager was so accommodating. I would certainly recommend anyone to have an event here.
What a difference a renovation makes. The restaurant is beautiful. It’s a pleasure to sit on the terrace. I’ve had several meals here and they’ve all been delicious. Fish was very well prepared. Attentive and knowledgeable servers. Get the orange cake for dessert.
This is an amazing place. The food is great especially the fish dinners. The service/staff are top notch. The location is perfect on the water.
The food was excellent. I enjoyed everything I tasted and ate. Our party ordered 6 different adult drinks, all of which were delicious. We ordered apps, entrées, and desserts. The atmosphere is wonderful and something very special. Being out on the water made it all the better. Our server was super quick, friendly, and did a great job.
What a wonderful lunch! The special lobster and shrimp taco salad was delicious! We started with calamari which was very tender. We also had a crab Cobb salad (outstanding), mahi Reuben, mahi tacos and a burger. The food was outshined only by our server, Christopher. He went above and beyond with his friendliness and service. We will certainly return!!
The food here is always so amazing and fresh. You have to try their salmon - it’s the best you’ll have. Their smoked fish dip is also delicious and have great cocktails and some NA options
First visit to Waterway Cafe after the remodel. Spectacular job. Delicious dinner. Spicy Conch Chowder. Grilled Swordfish. Key Lime Pie. Sat at an outside bar to watch boats sailing the Intracoastal. The $35 million super yacht Golden Eye sailed through the PGA Blvd drawbridge. Make sure you sit outside!
Waterway Cafe is a fantastic spot. Recently redone and the new setup is great. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was unbeatable, and the service was excellent. We ordered the burger, Mac and cheese, mahi sandwich with fries and had some apps too. It was all incredible (minus the ranch, it didn’t taste like actual ranch). Sitting outside made the experience even better, with beautiful waterfront views and a relaxing vibe. Whether you’re grabbing a casual bite or enjoying a night out, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommend!
Everything about our lunch here was a 10/10. Although it was busy we were seated as soon as we walked in. The atmosphere is casual yet elevated. Both outside and inside seating was an option with plenty of tables. Our server was Sasha, she was kind and peppy. To drink I ordered the Coastal Reef Rita, although it was strong it was well balanced. We got the Crab, Spinnach & artichoke dip as an appetizer and I could honestly eat it every day. I had the warm burrata salad as my main dish, it was a lot of food but delicious. My partner had the lobster roll, he's from New England and really enjoyed it. It was chopped so a little bit of a twist on the traditional lobster roll. Overall a wonderful dining experience we will definitely go back. There is an automatic 20% service charge added to the bill. Both the host and our server made sure to mention this to us which was appreciated.
Before arriving into the West Palm area, we research restaurants, and this came highly recommended and rated. If driving, don’t be in a rush to get there like me as you’ll go right pass the driveway. 😂 They have adequate parking. We dined at 5pm, and even during their Happy Hours, we were able to park close. Didn’t see valet, but they do have a large pull up area. Reservations - Since they have multiple choices of dining, indoor, partial roof, and outside, I recommend making reservations for your preferred dining setting. We sat outside and with reservations were taken to our table immediately upon arrival. Our waiter (Jasmine) was very attentive to our needs and was checking in throughout our time. Whether refills, ensuring table was clean, to accommodating our 2 kids, the service was phenomenal. Menu - There is something for everyone. We tried a few things on the dinner menu: Blasted Shrimp (Bang Bang), Buffalo Chicken Fingers, Chicken Caesar Salad, Rigatoni Pasta, Lobster and Shrimp Fried Rice. *Check for Happy Hours and Specials. Atmosphere- The restaurant sits on the inlet, as boats pass coming in and going out. Very peaceful and no speeding boats going pass. You can walk the dock. They do have a pull up dock for those arriving via boat/watercraft. Overall, a definite yes 👍🏾 upon our return to the area. Great vibe just minutes away from beach, but with that on the water vibe.
Waterway did a great job with its remodel. Beautiful prime location. Hope they add live music on the dock and open area. Service was wonderful. Staff is friendly and great looking. Everyone is always so pleasant. My server, Sabrina, was exceptional. Thank you!!
Great place with water and bridge views. Amazing floating Tiki Bar as well where you can stop by for a drink 🍻 if you are boating 🛥. The place was established in 1986 with an extensive menu that has something for each one. No bottomless drinks any day, but nice happy hours are on the weekdays. We tried the fried shrimps appetizer and the grilled Mexican-style ones that were outstanding. Grilled steak salad and Seafood Gumbo where very good. Service was attentive. We will be back..
Loving our time at the Waterway Cafe, Josh (out server) us amazing. Jim (manager) met us at the boat, greeted and assisted us with tying off, getting our table and being comfortable. Brought our family out for an amazing day on the water, a phenomenal lunch and great time. Waterway Cafe made it happen. We are thankful for the amazing experience and great meal
I came here for lunch with my husband and I’m glad we did. It was very spacious inside but we chose to sit outside under the covered area to enjoy the mild weather and the overall experience. The view was nice, the food was really good and the drinks were tasty. I will definitely be back.
Visiting florida for a couple of days and had a stone crab craving. I must of called 6 restaurants and nobody had stone crab. Water way had them. Omg deeeelish, i had a bunch of crab, crab cakes and a lobster roll. I needed a wheel chair to get back to my car. Everything was so good and delicious. Highly recommend
This is a nice restaurant. They have a huge parking lot and it's right on the water with the windows open. You should probably call ahead no matter when you go, I bet it's always pretty busy. We went for mother's day. Got the Margherita pizza, calamari and shrimp for apps and around the table we had swordfish, gumbo, fish fry, salmon. It was really good. Service was fast considering. I felt bad for the waiter Seth he was really working it. Thanks!! It was nice.
Visited the renovated and remodeled Waterway Cafe with a group of 10 friends. They only recently reopened for business in January 2025. Wow!! What a difference! The long overdue renovations were worth the wait. The restaurant is now more spacious than ever. There are indoor and many more outdoor seating options available; basically, the outdoor seating wraps around the North and East side of the building. The bar seems twice the previous size and there are great nooks with couches and seating conducive to chatting with friends. The atmosphere was peaceful. The views are the same consistent ones of the intracoastal, the bridge and the many boats passing by. If you enjoy dining near or “on the water,” add Waterways to your list. Our server Celene did a fantastic job taking care of us. Her warm, friendly smile and demeanor, as well as her thorough knowledge of the menu, the history of the restaurant and the attentiveness to each of us at our table was quite impressive. She’s professional and very mature for her young age 👏🏻👏🏻🎉🎉 She’s a keeper! All staff are friendly and accommodating. Hats off to the Chefs in the kitchen. From the appetizers, flavors and portions, to the entrees, everything ordered was prepared to perfection. The presentations on the plates added to the appetizing nature of the food. The Valets were friendly and efficient. Was a busy Sunday. Chase, in particular, was hustling to make sure customers didn’t wait long, providing great service! Thank you. Will definitely be returning with other friends as well! Kudos! It was a delight dining here today! Looking forward to your additions of Happy Hours and music, perhaps, in the future.
Beautiful waterfront restaurant. The server Anna B was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious. Our group of four had swordfish, fish and chips, steak salad and seafood rigatoni. Each dish was excellent. We would highly recommend this restaurant.
The place was very cute! I would definitely come again! We had the calamari, pistachio crusted grouper and pistachio crusted Chilean sea bass. The Chilean sea bass was amazing! The drink I ordered was ok. Service was good but could have been better, however we did show up 30 minutes before closing.
I've been there twice and the food has been absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is beautiful and the staff are attentive. It can be on the pricy side but they have some more affordable options as well. I love their seafood. Its the perfect place to celebrate any occasion.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Memorable Waterfront Dinner in West Palm Beach I took my wife and daughter to Waterways Café in West Palm Beach for a special evening, and everything about the experience was top-notch. When I called ahead, they let me know that no reservations were needed—just come in. When we arrived, the hostess, Tia, greeted us warmly and helped us choose the perfect table right on the dock. The view of the water, the boats going by, and the sunset made for a beautiful atmosphere. Our server, Claudia, was absolutely wonderful—friendly, attentive, and very professional. She and the rest of the staff worked as a great team, making sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. We started with the smoked fish dip, which was fresh and delicious. From there, we shared a specialty pizza, followed by three amazing entrees: a flavorful pasta dish, a perfectly prepared pistachio-crusted grouper, and a juicy Churrasco steak sandwich. Every dish was excellent. To top it all off, Claudia surprised my wife with a specialty peanut butter dessert for her birthday, which was thoughtful and absolutely delicious. It was such a nice gesture and really made the evening even more memorable for our family. Between the beautiful views, outstanding service, and incredible food, this dinner was well worth the drive. We’ll definitely be coming back—and we’ll be asking for Claudia and Tia again!
had a great experience visiting waterway, the staff that took care of us were very nice and personable, and the manager Melvin that came by to check in on us was incredible, and was present and checking on the other tables throughout the night. i tried the mushroom pizza, the steak salad( steak was so tender), and the broccolini appetizer, everything was tasty, and i would definitely return again.
I had not been to waterway for many years. I was there on 2 /20 as a guest for a class reunion and stepped from away from the festivities to have dinner at the bar. I was delighted with the glazed salmon topped asparagus with mashed potatoes. The dinner was outstanding. I'm not easily impressed by food, but this was over the top. I will be back. Not to mention the atmosphere, attentive team & amazing new design of the restaurant. Spectacular! I will be back for sure. There are not many places you can go in Palm Beach County to dine with a water view. This is a must see & dine!
This place never disappoints. The moment we walked in Charlie had waters with lemon slices ready & we went with the special of the day and the mahi mahi with lobster bisque mashed potatoes that were substituted for the garlic mashed potatoes were delicious and worth every bite. We also had the crab stuffed yellowtail which was also superb & ended the evening with a slice of fresh key lime pie. We will definitely be here again when we are back in PBG. Ask for Charlie he’s an excellent server and the chef here is top tier. Always get the special
Great experience....had an amazing server I wish I had gotten her name she was very attentive and super friendly. Entire staff was very helpful. Tried the lobster roll and crab cake both delicious. Tried all the deserts but the Snickers cheesecake. Favorite was the pistachio one definitely worth a try. Runner up was the key lime.
We recently had the absolute pleasure of hosting our staff holiday party at Waterway Cafe, and it was truly such a wonderful experience. We brought a group of our 27 teachers, and from start to finish everything was seamless and welcoming. The atmosphere was warm and festive, making it the perfect place to gather, relax, and celebrate together after a busy year. The food was absolutely delicious—every dish was beautifully prepared and enjoyed by everyone at the table. The service was attentive and kind, and our staff felt so well taken care of throughout the entire evening. Randy and Monica were great! Laughter, great conversation, and incredible food made the night feel extra special. We are so grateful to Waterway Cafe for helping us create such a memorable holiday party for our team.
Go! Happy hour food and drink menu on Friday was until 6:30 pm. Had the steak tip salad- top notch. Husband had cuban sandwich which he loved. Daughter had chicken Milanese dish with arugula also delish. The atmosphere is amazing and service as well. We also received complimentary drinks from Corona and crown royal which was delectable.
Can’t say enough about the excellent experience, that we had today. The service was spot on. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. Our server, Owen was great. Very friendly, informative and accommodating. The ambiance was very nice. We sat outside. Nice view of the intracoastal, seated in a comfortable booth. The food was fantastic. Smoked fish dip appetizer. Delicious. Blackened Salmon Alfredo, on special. Delicious. Burrata salad. Delicious. Maple glazed salmon. Delicious. Key lime pie. The perfect ending. Old fashioned cocktail, was made to perfection, as well. Met Mike, on our way out. He asked how our experience was. Easy answer. We’ll be back. Looking forward to it.
We did a reservation on the back by the canal with a view of the waterway and it was amazing experience seen all the boats going by and the waves. The attention and the atmosphere were top notch. The food was delicious, everything was super delicious, we ordered the tuna tartar , the crab guacamole, my salad was so good that I think it can be a plate by itself and my favorite, my lobster rolls An unbelievable experience that I’m willing to comeback soon from Miami to eat here again and again
Excellent food the past 4 times I have gone. Love the new seating areas and the new floating bar. Too many people in the beginning said it was not good. I went and it was fabulous glad I did not listen. Amazing menu !!!!! Very pleased. My husband is a crab cake snob from Md. He said the crab cake was as close as you can get. Conch fritters amazing and Ahi Tuna advocado app delicious.
Waterway Café is a beautiful waterfront spot in Palm Beach Gardens and made for a perfect lunch outing. I recently enjoyed a spectacular weather day here with a friend, and we chose to sit outside, which truly elevated the experience with gorgeous water views and a relaxed coastal atmosphere. Our server, Blake, was outstanding—kind, attentive, efficient, and incredibly understanding throughout our visit. Service like his makes a real difference, and he absolutely deserves recognition. We started with the lobster guacamole, which was fantastic and full of flavor. For entrées, we ordered the crabcake dinner and the grouper, both of which were well-prepared and enjoyable. One area that fell short was the mocktail experience. My friend does not drink alcohol and requested a virgin piña colada, which tasted like a premade mix. We then tried fresh watermelon juice, which unfortunately had gone rancid. Thankfully, the third attempt—a nonalcoholic Moscow mule—was a win and very much enjoyed. The only truly irritating aspect of the experience was the automatic 20% gratuity. While we fully support tipping—and would have tipped Blake very well based on his exceptional service—automatic gratuity at lunch felt unnecessary and detracted slightly from an otherwise pleasant experience. Pricing is definitely on the higher side for Palm Beach Gardens, but the on-the-water setting is lovely and inviting. One thing that would take this place to the next level would be live music, which I think would be a phenomenal addition to the ambiance. Overall, Waterway Café offers a wonderful waterfront atmosphere, excellent service, and solid food. With a bit more attention to non-alcoholic beverage quality and a few experiential enhancements, it could truly shine. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5)
Went for lunch, service was awesome, our server, Colby was very attentive to our needs, took very good care of us! Food was great, we had an appetizer, Conch Fritters, Shrimp Po’Boy sandwich, Marguerite Pizza, and Chimichurri Steak, all were delicious! Cafe was newly renovated and menu revamped! Beautifully done and delicious! We sat outside, on the water, Intracoastal Waterway, lovely view and perfect weather! We were told by the hostess, as she was seating us, that a 20% tip would be automatically added to the check, as we appreciated we were told in advance and understood very much, as with many tourists and visitors during the season, many do not tip, which makes it necessary to add on! Would definitely go back, as a wonderful place to bring family or friends!
This is a really nice place a d not outrageously expensive. I had the Fuji apple / brie pizza which was absolutely awesome. My companions enjoyed their calamari & fish & chips. Our server was excellant. She was attentive but not overbearing, she gave us perfect service and helped me decide what to get. Be aware that parking during season can be an issue, I ended up getting valet parking. Bring some cash for their tip. Speaking of tips, be aware the place charges a 20% "surcharge" on the bill no matter how many people. This is regarded as the tip. There still is room on the credit card slip to add a tip. Luckily we had a heads up about this. As long as you know this going in, this is a really nice place to eat. They have happy hour specials and happy hour menu.
Very nice experience here. Our server was gracious and took very good care of us. My son and I were there for a quick bite this past Thursday. Wings and calamari. Both were cooked well. We had a nice time. Glad to see this restaurant is still going strong!
Espectacular vista y lugar
Great pistachio crusted grouper with roasted vegetables. Yummy mango margarita. Beautiful water views with a floating bar.
Lovely place next to the water channel. Huge place with a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside at the bar. Perfect place, you get to see the boats pass by and the draw bridge open and close. Really enjoyed the Florida weather. We got the golden margarita for drinks, which was good. For food we got the appetizer out of the chefs special menu, the Carolina bbq ribs. The sauce was amazing and the meat was well cooked. Would have been better if the meat was a little tender. Presentation was excellent though. For main course I got the Mediterranean salmon with orzo salad. The salmon was cooked to perfection. The orzo was a good but a little cold. For desert we got the chefs special cheese cake with strawberry. The dessert was excellent. Really enjoyed the food and drinks. The staff was friendly and service was perfect. Highly recommend this place.
We had a large group and although we had reservations we missed our timeframe due to a late business meeting. So it was our fault they had to scramble to find a place for us and try to serve all of us. So service was slow but not totally unexpected. Under better circumstances, I think it would be a great place right on the water. They were trying their best to accommodate!
Waterways Cafe is gorgeous. Bar area is right on the water. You get the breeze and covered shade from the Florida Sun. Seafood is delicious, fries are crispy, views are all things south florida. Great vibe, great time. Note: Restaurants should not enforce 20% gratuity on a small table, especially when the staff does not smile. This should be the customers choice always. I gave the mandated 20% and while she hovered over me as I signed, she told me to click 3% for the other staff. Awkward moments. Menu was lovely. Get the Peanut Butter Cake!!!! Crab Cobb Salad Crab Cake Appetizer - best thing here!! Fish & Chips Peanut Butter Cake - best dessert!!! Vanilla Creme Brulee
We sat at the bar on a Wednesday at 6pm, no wait. Ordered two apps (lobster guac and conch fritters). Both delicious and I would say nice portions. Also had two beers each, one cappuccino, and the peanut butter cake, which was also delicious. A little tough to get the attention of the bartender to be honest. The bill which includes a 20% automatic tip was $108. We left happy. Update: we had dinner tonight and it was truly delicious. Two managers in addition to our wonderful server, Cienna, checked on us. The pistachio grouper . wow wow wow.. we had the gumbo, the lobster stir fry and white pizza.. all delicious. Do not skip the snickers explosion and get 4 spoons.. great night!
The new renovation is gorgeous! This is one of our favorite places to go for special family dinners, even larger parties, and when guests are in town. However, the new menu prices were a bit surprising... and for the price, the watermelon salad with shrimp special wasn't that filling. I went home and ate an additional meal. The food is always delicious, beautifully plated, and fresh. I am not certain this is the right price point for the casual dining experience.
Muy lindo lugar para comer, ofrece una linda vista para ver los botes pasar. Exquisita comida, muy rápido el servicio. Un restaurante donde el ambiente es acogedor, casual aunque también elegante.
I’m posting this review as I’m sitting at the bar. The view is amazing. We have been sitting here for over an hour and we’ve had one drink. The bartender put the menus in front of us and then basically left. Waited on every Other person at the bar other than us. The menu looks amazing, but unfortunately we didn’t get to try anything ,so we are leaving.
Our first visit since the rebuild It is an absolute stunning remodel of the old Waterway Go for the atmosphere and the constant parade of million dollar yachts have a drink and appetizer. Based on waitress recommendation I tried the lobster roll IT WAS HORRIBLE canned claw meat that was over processed and like rubber bands, see photo$37. Owners if you are reading take it off the menu if you cant get better lobster. The salad was good. There is a weird 20% tip added to all bills. I guess the poor execution by staff caused the management to require it. I usually tip more but not this time.
The outdoor seating provided a pretty atmosphere, but unfortunately the service was very poor. Most of our party liked their food once it came, however. Unfortunately, it was very overpriced. Not worth the money, in my opinion.
It was my first time since they renovated the place. It was very nice. Every staff member made sure you knew that they were going to Charge you 20% gratuity no matter what. Even on one glass of wine that cost $20. Which is where my complaint is. I was waiting for a friend to show up and I went to the bar and asked for a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. The bartender asked from New Zealand or California. I said New Zealand. I go the bill $25. I paid. Reluctantly the 20%. Now, Im sitting and I just happen to look at the Sauvignon Blanc wine. They had three listed. starting $13, $16 and $20. The Bartender DID NOT EVEN GIVE ME THE OPTION TO CHOSE. I figured they had one. I'm okay not going back. The bartender wasn't even that friendly. The food was okay. NO BIG DEAL. And i definitely, don't need to be obligated to pay 20% tip for lunch or mediocre service and definitely not $20 for a glass of mediocre wine.
Here's my opinion. They have some work to do. I'm sure it will get there and it's very natural to start off with kinks and glitches. The servers definitely need some more training and a customer should be told that the service charge is added to the bill. My server made it seem like it was a restaurant service charge and that she should be tipped more in addition to the 20% charge as I brought the charge to her attention since she did not bring it to mine. She then held up her fingers in quotes and said, yes the restaurant tax on a "service charge". I'm glad I looked instead of just handing over my card. I would actually never want to work here if I were a server. This means they have to claim all those service charges instead of getting cash tips which is what I like to give. As for the food, I thought the lobster guacamole was a good value. There was lots of lobster meat in it however, it had basically no flavor. I then split the steak sandwich with my friend. I did not like the marinade at all. It tasted like lime and Italian dressing. It was on the thin side and they put spring mix all over it which wasn't a good fit. The bread wasn't that great either. The place is beautiful but they have to dim those lights inside. It would change the whole ambiance. We then went for cocktails outside and the bar service was good. I don't know who that manager was but he did not even say thanks for coming or greet us on our way out the door. He just kind of stood there and talked with the hostesses. I didn't get his name. Anyway I think it will work out, it will just take a little bit of time.
Great place on the water with two sections for options to sit outdoors. You can sit and watch the drawbridge go up and down as the larger boats pass through. Thr food was averagely priced. The food came out quickly for being so busy and all was super fresh. The fish and chips - super good. The burger - so super good - great flavor. Our server on the other hand...not so great. Which left our glasses empty and never getting us the condiments or extra napkins needed. We did however really like the guy that brought our food to us...he had such a fun personality. Would I go back? Possibly...having bad service kind of does it in for me. I didnt love love it so I'd probably look elsewhere.
I remember WaterWay Cafe 18 years ago , it was so quaint and beachy with Reggae Night on Sundays and that is where I met my husband . He knows all the bartenders. We went back yesterday after after it had been remodeled for the first time I was impressed with the appetizer as impressed with the service the drinks fine but four drinks and one appetizer was over 100 bucks. That’s what was a little too much for me to swallow also parking was a nightmare we had to park somewhere else and walk other than that. It was beautiful restaurant very modern, but I think it’s more catered to be also wealthy than it is to middle class, very expensive but good. This is more of a Boca Delray type of a restaurant.
Pros: * beautiful landscaping * seated quickly / no wait * lovely water view * chill atmosphere Food wasn't bad, but definitely wasn't worth what we paid. We got the octopus salad, buffalo tender appetizer and the blackened salmon. Cons: * staff lacked personality and seemed annoyed we were there * prices * it was uncomfortably hot
IT'S BACK ✨️ I recently went for lunch at the newly refurbished Waterway and had a good experience. The staff greeted us kindly and seated us quickly. The space looks fresh and inviting, with a lovely atmosphere. The menu was quite similar to the previous one, but with some new additions. Upon entering, we were informed about the mandatory 20% service charge, which I had also seen online, so it wasn’t a surprise. The service was great, and the food was okay and as I expected it would be. I wouldn’t say the menu is aiming for a high-end feel; it’s more casual dining in a beautiful setting. Both bars were lively, and I’m excited to return to try some of their drinks. While the drinks list is on the pricier side, it’s in line with the area, so it wasn’t unexpected. There’s no Happy Hour at the moment, but that’s understandable for a newly reopened spot.
The overall vibe of the restaurant was good and it had good decorations and the outside seating was nice. However, while we were dining there many times glass dropped and broke because the employees were being lazy and reckless. I recognize stuff happens but it shouldn't be happening to the point where it becomes annoying (4+). When we were eating the food was very good especially the Mac n cheese. The staff were also kind of rude as the food runner got mad at people at our table for "not saying what dish was ours" That put a bad taste into our mouths and honestly they should have seat numbers so they don't have to awkwardly auction off the food. The waitress was fine and was a bit upset we had to automatically pay a 20% tip but it is what it is. Overall they need a better system and better employees who care more about customers and not just going home.
I’ve been a loyal patron and neighbor of Waterway Cafe for many years. The new ambiance is undeniably beautiful and chic. Transitioning from the local waterfront watering hole we all once loved into an upscale dining experience. So it’s normal to see some backlash with such a significant change. We only stopped for appetizers and drinks but enjoyed both. Definitely pricey but it’s what we’ve come to expect at upscale establishments in the area. Like many, I was not a fan of the added 20% gratuity. Although, I did feel the service was good. Ultimately they’ll thrive, but mostly due to a lack of waterfront dining options in the area. The transformation is impressive. However, I see plenty of room for improvement starting with the creativity of the menu. A few more local seafood options would be nice. Finally, the introduction of a happy hour should appease many of the disappointed locals. Good luck and congratulations.
Beyond expensive and a were told when seated that 20 percent would be automatically added to our bill. I'm sorry, is this Miami Beach now? Turn off # 1. Sat out by the newly renovated tiki bar, great views!! There was a DJ and the music was so loud at 6PM we couldn't hear each other at ou2 small high top table. Turoff # 2. Let me be clear we're not old and found it really unpleasant. I can't imagine all the old people trying to eat enjoying it either. Princess was a top notch server! She bought the charm, she's a gem. Decent cocktails but very pricey. Spent over 100 dollars on 4 drinks and 1 appetizer.Turnoff #3 Decided not to stay for dinner as planned. I like the new look but the prices, automatic 20 % , blaring loud music and nightmare parking- turnoff #4 has us not eager to return. May try it again sometime at lunch.
I had high hopes for this place, however, it did not meet my expectations. The food was ok but not really anything to write about. Biggest disappointment came when I ordered an espresso to finish my meal. After waiting too long, my espresso was delivered in a dirty cup that had obviously not been washed. That pretty much ruined the meal for me.
Waitress Savannah was great. Manager Rick was atrocious - belligerent from the minute we walked in the door. Cute atmosphere and mediocre and high priced food do not compensate for his complete disrespect of customers. There are plenty of other options around that we will be sure to frequent instead.
The location and the view is beautiful, however the food is flavorless and overpriced. The cocktails are ok in taste, but for the price the portion could be bigger. The menu is small, and bland. The parking lot is very small, to a point were the valet drivers have the majority of the parking spots. Beware there, the cars are parked horribly. To be charged a gratuity charge for a two-person dining is weird. This charge prevents the waiters from receiving a bigger tip, that probably why the service is not that good. This place gives me its all about money. And I will not be coming back here.
Very, very over priced and they add a mandatory 20% service fee. We ordered an appetizer of bacon wrapped scallops on the special menu for $22. There were 2 scallops on it. $11 each!! Bill was $170 for 3 for lunch. No deserts. Also small self parking lot. Takes time to actually find a spot. Only good thing was the view. Better to go north to Blue Point where food is half the price, parking abounds and chill relaxing outdoor atmosphere.
My husband had dinner tonight he couldn’t believe how bad the food taste The appetizer was slow coming out and 2 minutes later his food came out he said the food was cold. Pasta under cooked the shrimp and seafood was bad.
didn’t like my grilled chicken at all and my waiter asked if i wanted another, i said many times no, and then he threw away the old one and gave me a new one even tho i said NO. still charged me for two and i didn’t like nor eat either. the second chicken was just as gross
So tonight is New Years Eve. I just got back home. I’ve had a horrible and great experience in the same night. About a week ago we made a reservation at waterway cafe for be years eve. We were asked if we wanted standard or out door seating and we requested standard. We arrived and as you know it was 52 degrees outside and they tried to seat us outside( there is no heating by the way) I told them we requested standard seating. The staff stated to me that standard means inside or outside and inside was all booked but they may fit us in if we wanted to wait an hour and a half or so or we could leave. What an absolutely horrible attitude to have. So we left and went over to Matteo’s in North palm Beach near the honey ham. The matre di said he could fit us in. The food was absolutely phenomenal and the staff there is the best. They saved my New Year’s Eve. Shame on you waterway cafe for the way you treated a good customer.
We had lunch and we were extremely disappointed. My husband had the conch chowder and he saw only a couple bits of conch. My lobster roll was good but the French fries were terrible. They’re too heavily coated and were cold. The calamari was way too greasy and very strange looking when I took off some coating bc they just didn’t taste right. They were a brownish color and definitely not white. The fries are 100% better at the Yard House, the Cheesecake Factory and even McDonalds! I’m mad at myself we didn’t asked for the manager to see our plates. If we go back, and the food is not appetizing, I’ll definitely ask to see the manager.
