We had dinner to celebrate a birthday with five adults and a toddler, and we had a wonderful time. The food was excellent, from the appetizers to the trio of first courses, and finally the fantastic saddle of pork. The tiramisu was also excellent...we'll be back soon, as it's also close to home.

The kitchen is well-equipped, and the wine selection is good, including the Barbera by the glass. The dining room has a '90s vibe, maybe even '80s. It's up to you whether that's a plus or a minus. I'd definitely go back.

Excellent food but terrible service. There were two of us and we ordered one appetizer and two first courses. One of the two first courses arrived after my companion had already finished his. For me, this is a gross and unforgivable mistake for a restaurant like this that serves excellent food.

Decent value for money, with a few niggles here and there in the menu and service. The food is authentic, although recently it lacks that touch of refinement in both the recipes and the service, characteristics that have always distinguished this restaurant, setting it apart from traditional mountain trattorias. The comparison with the courtesy and attentiveness of the elderly owner, who is no longer in the dining room, is undeniable. He knew how to advise his customers well, directing them to the freshest products of the day.

I had fond memories of this restaurant when I used to come with my grandmother at the turn of the century. However, this time I can't give it a positive review. The food wasn't well presented. For our first course, we ordered tagliolini with venison sauce, and I didn't see or taste any venison at all. The broth flavor overpowered everything. The balsamic-glazed pork tasted only of vinegar, except for a few spots where what should have been the glaze was burned, and the bitterness wasn't at all pleasant. The service was sloppy: the waiter brought us our wine after an interminable wait and mistakenly brought a dish to our table that wasn't intended for us. The atmosphere is truly 1980s: it wouldn't take much to modernize the place a bit and make customers feel at ease. The only positive note is the truly affordable price: with water, wine, a first course, a second course with a side dish, and coffee, we spent only 30 euros each.

Maybe we got the day wrong because the memory was different. A real disappointment; there was only one (good) young man in the dining room who basically did everything. After a long wait, the appetizers arrived without the wine we'd ordered with the food. Then a recommended couple (friends of the owner) arrived and within 5 minutes they were served drinks and food, all brought by the owner while the poor guy served almost everything else in the dining room. Vitello tonnato served with smoked swordfish, and the hot appetizers weren't up to par with the restaurant. When I asked for wine, people at other tables whispered to me that the same thing had happened to them too. And to think we'd even made a reservation... I'm reluctantly forced to say... Never again!
