Excellent pastries, done the right way! Flaky and crisp on the outside and soft in the center. Tried the apple danish and croissant and it was perfection. Good coffee too, classical music, large windows with a view of Victorian homes make this the perfect place to relax.
Best cinnamon rolls around!! Serves lunch with homemade soups and yummy sandwiches too!! Other yummy baked goods too. CASH ONLY!!

Fantastic bear claws and other pastries we tried! Came back to try the chicken soup and was blown away! Soo good. Reminded me of my Italian grand mother's soup. Great find.
Awesome food, cash only to avoid the govt theft, owner and baker knows the quality of his product and does not need false niceties to nurture the feelings of thin-skinned cowards. Order, pay cash, and enjoy the tasty treats. Will be back for more.
I consider myself a self proclaimed pastry and dessert specialist and Fournier's Bakery is the best on the Peninsula. And the service, even tho not overly friendly, is professional and quick. I live in Carmel and travel to PG just for an awesome cookie. Kevin's pies are so amazing you eat the entire crust. His milk chocolate brownies when available are quick to be gone because he is not selfish with the icing. I recommend having lunch there as well because you will not be disappointed with any choice.
While I initially walked into this café searching for pastry sustenance, I received much more than I initially expected. Upon first walking and I was greeted with a smile from ear to ear by a jolly old fellow. While, I don’t know his name, I believe it could be Edwin since Edwyn, in English, means Happy Friend. I felt cordially invited in and began to peruse the pastries. The owner, jovial as ever, walked me through each pastry. In fact, he gave me a brief backstory of each one, an apple danish which he had tasted with his first love, Keylime pie from grandma‘s kitchen. A chocolate chip cookie that a best friend shared before the war, devil’s food cake, the dish that was served at his mother's funeral. While Edwin elaborately spun tales, I grew a connection to each pastry. These baked goods are more than food; each indicates a unique story and experience. In the end, I chose an array of delightful treats. With a twinkle in his eye and a grin on his face, Edwin handed me the bag. Upon leaving the store and reflecting now, I realize I’ve received much more than just simple pastries. I received a connection, an experience, and, most notably, a new friend
On the road, I was looking for a blueberry muffin. Popped into Fourniers and was not expecting much as the ambiance is unremarkable. I purchased a blueberry muffin and then saw olallieberry muffins in a nearby case. I asked proprietor which was better - blueberry or olallieberry and he recommended the olallieberry, so I also purchased an olallieberry muffin. OMG -- the olallieberry muffin was superb!!! Loads of fruit -- not too sweet -- just the right size --- it was amazing! Blueberry was better than average, but if I'm ever in the area again, I'll be getting the olallieberry! Yum!
Oh my... I used to work at Toasties down the street never got a chance to come into this Bakery, but went three days ago and got them marionberry cheese pastry! Amazing! Will be taking some with me next time I visit my mom in Fresno! That's how delicious these were! Would definitely recommend this bakery!♡♡♡
We come to Pacific Grove 3 or 4 times a year and Never miss a trip to this bakery. Absolutely the Best.
I had the most amazing cherry tart danish here, flaky crust, just the right amount of streusel around the edges. A pure joy to eat. The bear claw was also yum, with a delicious almond paste inside. Best we have ever had. A local brought his dogs by to say "Good morning" to Kevin & off he went to get special treats he took outside to them. So glad he is still baking as there is a touch to these pastries you can't get elsewhere. Baked with love.

I ordered the curry chicken half sandwich and really liked it! I'd never had curry chicken in a sandwich before but it was delicious. They serve it with a side of Kettle Chips so it was pretty filling for me as a mid to somewhat petitte woman. I highly recommend the place. The desserts look great too!
The pastries are freshly made and delicious, especially the muffins and cinnamon rolls. Unfortunately the coffee is weak and tasteless and he does’t make specialty coffees which I believe is a big mistake for an otherwise lovely environment. I found myself picking up a pastry and getting coffee elsewhere...
Breakfast pastries were better than market pastries but not up to other top Bakeries on the peninsula. However. their Grove Cookie (oatmeal chocolate chip cookie with coconut) is excellent.
First time here. It's comfy and I loved the apricot cheese danish. Coffee was good and it was a fair price. The baker was working hard and it just felt like a happy place and we walked away with happy tummies!!! Cash only.

Rude fellow behind the counter. Cash only. No posted prices. No espresso. Only coffee sizes were 12oz and 20oz. Ordered 2 small coffees and a muffin and it came to $9. Muffin and coffee were fine but it's a weird business model.

Food was good! Man behind the counter....hmmm. I could not get a smile, hello, twinkle in his eye for the life of me. Almost became a challenge. Then as I was eating I started thinking about why he was so unhappy...Did he just have a bad morning? Is he always like this? Is is family ok? I tried to say goodbye on my way out but he was not having it. I still think of him and wish him all the best...but I don't think I will go back because it was a bit stressful...
This rating applies only to our own experience of course. This 'bakery' was completely empty of all baked goods when we were there in the morning and the explanation was that the baker was 'off today'. The completely empty shelves looked quite forlorn but there were some customers enjoying sandwiches outdoors so we ordered a panini and half sandwich and they arrived after a while and were quite tasty if on the sparse side. They were advertised as coming with 'chips' and we thought that might mean french fries but turned out to be a small collection of tasty potato chips. This place is in an excellent location which deserves somewhat better than it gives at the moment.

Bitter latte made from burnt drip coffee and scant amount of milk. One of these places where you have to pay the tip first even though no one is serving you at a table, paid highest tip knowing you’ll get substandard service if you don’t, didn’t make a difference, this guy put so little milk in the drip coffee it couldn’t be considered a latte which is what I ordered. I really feel sorry for the owner, his pastries are good but his staff are terrible.
Entered the bakery and asked if they offered gluten free products. The man behind the counter looked at us with shock and disgust. He continued to look at us as if we were unwanted and undesirable. His disdain was palpable. Very unfortunate because the coffee and chocolate chip cookie were very good. Will never return to this establishment. Sir, if your that unhappy stay home.
I didn't have the chance to try the food here as they only accept cash, which was inconvenient for me since I don't usually carry cash. The staff member seemed unwelcoming, lacking any smiles or warmth. Considering the remote locations I've stopped at in West Texas, Kansas , Tennessee and Utah. where even small towns accept cards, it's surprising that this establishment doesn't. Hopefully, the neighborhood gets a better bakery soon. Even those bakeries smell better by the way.
