It’s a friendly neighborhood food truck. The food was fresh and tasty. The Aloo Gost had a homely taste. The Papri Chat and Chicken Pakora were flavorful. The food is halal here. The have a phone number and you can call to order ahead.
I have been waiting for this restaurant!!!! Me and my sister , mom went to dine in && let me tell how amazing everything was , vibe was lovely and food was perfect also definitely recommend chicken sheesh kebab with rice 💁🏽♀️ 🔥
My husband brought take out home yesterday. Everything was delicious. We had chicken keema naan, sesame seed naan, and seekh kebab and a cheeseburger. I look forward to getting falooda and iA catering in future too.
I stopped here on my way back to Connecticut after a meeting because I was craving good Pakistani food and found this place randomly on Google — I’m so glad I did. I believe I spoke with the owner when I ordered over the phone. She was incredibly kind and patient while taking my order. I explained that I’m very picky and wanted my food prepared a very specific way, and she delivered perfectly. The chicken karahi tasted homemade with a nice restaurant-style kick. The chicken biryani was delicious, and the naan was exactly how I requested — thin and perfect. I was even able to warm it up the next day and enjoy it, which rarely happens with naan from other places. Overall, this is a wonderful family restaurant. When I arrived to pick up the food, I noticed her son helping out, which added to the warm, family-run atmosphere. The portions are also very generous compared to any Pakistani restaurant I’ve been to. They’re running a great business. I will definitely be back and will likely be placing a catering order soon. Thank you again!
We had one of the best halwa poori breakfast in town, after a long time! Also tried a couple of other breakfast items, all delicious but the parathas and the paya salan were chef’s kiss! 10/10 highly recommend.
One of the best Helva puri I ever had. The place was very clean. The Lady at the counter was lovely and friendly. The Omelette and Parata was delicious. I would recommend this place for sure.
Had their Halva Puri /Chanda. And the Omlelete Paratha. Delicious home made breakfast. Definitely a must return spot.
I don’t know how people can complain about the food here- service and food were impeccable. Sweetest lady at the front and my gosh the burgers, parata rolls, karhai chicken, the naans were all straight from Pakistan. I can’t wait to go back!
The food was amazing! The food was warm, the fries were crispy. The food was hot right out of the kitchen, and the hospitality of the workers were amazing. They treated us with care and kindness. The atmosphere was very clean, and uplifting.
We started ordering catering from Baba Tikka and it is so good! The biryani was delicious and just amazing (very rare to find) and the chicken handi was phenomenal too. Baba tikka has some really gifted cooks, this is a ticket back home for those that miss really good Pakistani / desi food. Thank you!
It’s a nice little cozy spot close to Jersey City. The food and vibe reminded us of Pakistani authentic tasty khana. Seemed like a family owned place and the chef/owner with his wife came out to ask if everything was good. I really liked the goat and chicken karahi and samosa chat. Falooda was also pretty nice.
The food is unique to this area and very tasty. The person working there told me that the Sizzlin Chicken and Butter Chicken are their most popular dishes. I tried the Sizzlin Chicken and it gave me the sense of a more elevated version of Rafiqi's Halal. Green sauce was great whatever it was. The Chicken Handi is like nothing I've ever had, savory and garlicky. The Qeema Nan is soft and meaty. They went out of their way to accommodate me. There's so much more to try so yep we'll be back!
I was impressed with the quality and quantity of the food from this halal place. their kababs are great, you can try chicken chappli or seekh, both have good flavors. I love their biryani, its delicious , must have - we get it catered all the time. Owner is good person and makes great variety of amazing Pakistani food items.
Baba Tikka Restaurant definitely hit the spot! We ordered the chicken pulao, mixed grill, lamb over rice, carrot kheer, falooda, and gulab jamun — everything came out fresh, flavorful, and comforting. The chicken pulao was aromatic and perfectly cooked, the mixed grill had a great smoky taste, and the lamb over rice was tender and well-seasoned. For dessert, the carrot kheer was rich, the falooda refreshing, and the gulab jamun warm and melt-in-your-mouth good. Great food and overall a delicious experience. Highly recommend!
The food was okay, the price is a bit expensive. My butter chicken didn’t come with rice or any side and although the chicken was in a sauce it felt dry/overcooked and there was also an insane amount of grease on top that i had to skim off. My husband liked his roll and said he would get that again. I would go back again but try different items. They did package my bag horribly and i didn’t notice until i got home. The yogurt sauce was all over the mat of my car.
Shockingly Poor Takeaway Experience - Undercooked and Terrible Value I ordered a large takeaway meal for six, spending over $400, and were deeply disappointed on every level. 1. Terrible Value & Tiny Portions: The price point is completely unjustified. The $38 mutton karahi was in a container so small it looked like a personal side dish, not a main. The total order was nowhere near enough to feed our group. Extremely misleading and expensive. 2. Major Food Quality Issue: The achari chicken was particularly bad. The chicken itself was undercooked and rubbery, and it tasted like the curry sauce was made separately and just poured over the top. There was no integration of flavors, and the poorly cooked chicken made it inedible. This is a basic cooking failure. 3. Unpleasant Environment: When picking up, there was a strong, off-putting smell of sour/bad milk inside the restaurant, which is a major red flag for cleanliness and food safety. Final Verdict: This was one of the worst takeaway experiences l've had. I will never order from here again and strongly advise others to avoid. Between the outrageous cost for microscopic portions, undercooked food, and concerning smell, there is zero reason to give this place your business. Save your money and your appetite. MY RESPONSE TO YOUR REPLY Thank you for your response. I am writing to firmly correct the record. Our phone call was not a resolution discussion. It was a brief, 2-minute call where I explicitly stated I was busy and could not talk. You ended the call after stating you would call back later to discuss the matter fully. I never received that follow-up call. Therefore, no comprehensive discussion of my complaints ever took place. Since you did not provide the opportunity to address my concerns directly with you, I detailed them publicly in my review. My review stands as an accurate account of my experience: 1. The portions are unacceptably small for the prices charged. A container the size of a single-serving side dish, sold as a main course for $38, does not feed two people. This is a matter of objective value, not perception. 2. The achari chicken was poorly prepared. The chicken was undercooked and rubbery, and the curry lacked integration, tasting as if it had been cooked separately. This is a quality and execution failure. 3. There was a distinct, unpleasant odor in the restaurant at the time of pickup, which contributed to a negative overall impression. Your attempt to dismiss my valid criticisms by claiming we had a full conversation is UNACCEPTABLE, MISLEADING and a complete LIE. A truncated call where I could not speak does not constitute customer service or resolution. Furthermore, I see my experience is far from isolated. A glance at other reviews reveals many, many similar complaints about extremely high prices, subpar food, and very small portions. The striking consistency of these honest reviews from different customers suggests a clear pattern of issues with your establishment, and leads me to question the authenticity of any overwhelmingly positive feedback. My review is truthful. I do not recommend your restaurant due to the poor value, inconsistent food quality, and the inadequate handling of this feedback.
We dined in yesterday afternoon. It took around 25 minutes for our food to come out. We ordered a $17 chicken handi curry (that doesn't come with rice or naan), a $7 shammi kabab appetizer and a $18 chicken biryani, and a naan. The menu prices are attached to this review. The chicken handi's quantity to price ratio is extremely high. You can see the tablespoon for comparison to the size of the kadhai, and the size of the biryani, it was very small for the price we paid for it (especially considering no rice/bread comes with it!) The chicken handi tasted like the gravy was cooked separately, and unmarinated chicken breast was mixed into into the gravy at the last moment— it did not taste like one cohesive dish, the chicken itself didn't have any flavor or even salt (all the flavor was from the gravy) and was not worth the price we paid for it. The chicken biryani was decent, but there was only one piece of a drumstick, 2 bony pieces of chicken with very small amounts of meat (pictured on my plate) and 1 medium, normal sized piece of chicken with the rest of the large pot consisting of biryani rice. The ratio of meat:rice is off but at least the $18 price tag is okay compared to the handi. The naan was good, the shammi kabab was okay, and the "salad" was laughable— pieces of lettuce, one slice of an onion and a slice of lemon! Who eats biryani with lettuce on the side? We ultimately did not voice our disappointment about the quantity & price because we knew that would not result in anything. We had to accept our loss that this was the quantity we were served and that is how much we have to pay for it.
