Very impressed! 10/10. We ate loaded fries, Beef and brisket burger and has awesome conversation with (Mark) the owner. I love great stories while I eat so this was right up our alley! We were just passing through to Tao, NM and decided to stop in. We are so glad we did! Thank Mark for being so kind to us and sharing fun stories.
Such nice people and really amazing BBQ at reasonable prices! We sat outside with our dog, it was the perfect place to get a really delicious lunch while passing through Post, TX. The brisket was cooked to perfection, the fries were fresh and well seasoned, the okra was crispy and the beans were simple, but very flavorful. My husband got the Wheeler burger, the smoked burger patty had a beautiful smoke ring and the flavor was out of this world! Thank you so much for the food, service and welcoming our dog on the patio!! Just as a note; There was at least one review that said the brisket had a lot of fat, while there was some fat in the brisket, it was the perfectly rendered and melted in your mouth kind of fat. The meat would not have been as moist and delicious if that fat had been removed before it was cooked, while I don't enjoy eating fat, I had no issue setting a few pieces to the side and my husband was thrilled to eat it.
Stopped on our way to Palo Duro Canyon from NW Georgia. Absolutely delicious. Real food in a real town with local very sweet owners.

Really enjoyed the food; brisket burger sandwich and street tacos were delicious. The Wheelers are lovely people and chatting with them while we had lunch was a nice experience as we travelled back home to Houston from Palo Duro Canyon. Thank you!
Rustic BBQ place with excellent food, great service and good conversation!! Everything you need after a long drive! Get the burger with brisket and coleslaw! You won’t be disappointed!!
Stopped by a few days ago while on a university trip with a good-sized group. Service was so fast and friendly (we were all back on the road in under an hour even with plenty of great conversation in between), and the food was AMAZING!! Some of the best brisket I've ever had. Next time I'm in the area, I'll definitely be stopping by again!! :)
Had a great lunch today at the Wagon! Food was excellent and the Wheelers were most friendly. We will certainly stop again and recommend you do the same!
How come there's only 5 stars on this rating system? We need more stars! Passing through from Tehachapi, California. This place was amazing! I hope you're hungry when you show up here. Great portion size for the price. Four of us left full and still couldn't eat it all. Brisket was as tender and juicy as a wagyu tri-tip. It melts in your mouth and tantalizes your taste buds. The potato salad was delicious. All of the homemade flavors and hospitality that you'd expect from a quaint little Texas town. Definitely give this place a try.
If you’re looking for locally sourced, smoked to perfection meats, this is your place! The Wagon BBQ should compete in competitions, it’s THAT good. And I grew up eating BBQ from Lockhart, Texas which is world renowned for its pit masters. This place is right there with the best of the best. If you’re driving through town, look no further and stop on in. You’ll be glad you did
They got the burgers out quick. This was a nice change from typical roadtrip fast food and the couple working who I assume were the owners were awesome to talk to.
I will most certainly give this place a full 5 stars, we enjoyed the lunches and the great conversation. I had the sloppy bucket... it has fries, beans, brisket, jalapeños, cheese, and you top it off with extra bbq sauce...WOW, what a meal. I will definitely bring some more of my family to try other items as well. Great food and conversation.
Super friendly owners and one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. And I’ve had a lot of burgers.
We just left there and the WHOLE family loved it. We were traveling thru from Ga (Go Dawgs)! I had a big BBQ sandwhich, wife LOVED the brisket, boys had the slop bucket. This was all soooo good. And the friendly folks told us some of the good sites to see to help out on our family vac. If we EVER get to come back to this part of Texas we will go out of our way to visit The Wagon Wheel again. Oh and one part that meant the most was as we walked out the door he told us God Bless you.
hands-down the best barbecue I’ve had in a long time!! traveling through we saw the sign looked authentic, tasted authentic, quick, convenient, cold drinks, hot food, hotter staff!! you would be amiss for not stopping by.
Road trip to Central Texas - great stop here. Highly recommend the turkey - best ever!
The brisket is moist and very tender! The fries are not to be missed, fresh cut and served with little rings of sautéed sweet onion. I’ve never had anything like them. Great service and big servings!

Some of the best bbq you will find in Texas. And the cheeseburgers are huge!!! The owners are just the sweetest people you’ll meet as well. This will be our go-to spot when traveling this way!

Everything you expect from a small town restaurant in northwest Texas. Like eating at home. Very low key. Relaxed. We were just driving thru on a long trip, found the place via Google. Glad we stopped! Lively conversation with the staff. Great brisket and sausage plate! Lots of food for modest price. Burger was cooked well done... was still good, but if the place wants to be known for burgers, they could work on that... a bit of pink (medium) wouldn't hurt. Ocra was fried hard, a minute less would be better. No complaints. Praise for good people working hard to make ends meet providing home-style meals to locals in Post and the occasional passersby. The place has that rundown blue-collar feel which is a staple of Texas BBQ atmosphere. If driving by, look for the Open sign.
Great place, very conveniently placed for the traveler. Corn was cooked perfectly, burger was good just not very exciting. Can't beat the atmosphere.

My hiking buddy and I were on our way back south after dropping off another friend at the grand canyon. We were passing through Post and decided to stop for lunch. We pulled over at a Subway but on exiting the vehicle, were hit by the heavenly smell of smoked meat, and followed our noses next door to The Wagon. Wonderful pulled pork sandwich! I grew up in north Mississippi, close to Memphis, and consider myself to know something about BBQ. One of the best I ever had. One of the other reviewers complained about the amount of fat in the meat. I reveled in it! Fat is where the juiciness, tenderness and flavor come from! If you're a gluten free, fat free, joy free type, go next door to Subway (no offense guys) and have a salad. If you want some lip smackin' goodness, stay at The Wagon. Remember, if you stop eating bacon, you're still gonna die.

We stopped here driving through based upon ratings. We love good Texas brisket! What we got was tender brisket that was probably cooked in the oven. No smoke ring. Not much of any seasoning. It was meat. It wasn’t BBQ as I know it. We had slaw and potato salad for sides at $2.50 each. They were meh. I gave it 2 stars because the owner was very nice. The meat was tender. The pulled pork might be a better option.
