If you like lamb, you have to try the lamb burger. My husband loved it. The mushroom appetizer was very good.

The food is always fresh, recipes are creative...always have a great meal. The ambiance is vibrant.

I'd go again just for the wonderful dessert soufflé. My wife had the scallops, I had the fried chicken since it was Thursday.

My wife and I have been here several times the last year and every time is a great experience! The food is amazing and the staff is always friendly. You also can't go wrong with their souffle of the day. One of our favorite spots, we will be going there many more times in the future.

Hands down the best chimichurri I've ever been lucky enough to splash atop elegantly seared beef. Great drinks, great desserts (superb strawberry souffle served in a moment?!), worth the visit.

Flatiron catered my husband’s 50th birthday party yesterday for 40 people and did an AMAZING job. We have been going to eat there for years, but I did not know they catered. First of all, Craig and Jessica are very nice, and don’t you want to support nice people? Who wants to work with jerks? They had a wide menu to choose hors d’oeuvres, standing stations, mains, and sides. The food was delicious. Esp. the lamb meatballs and crab cakes hors d’oeuvres, the mushroom and potato gratin, the NY strip, and the pork skirt steaks. They made a chocolate cake with peanut butter ganache per request. We had 2 signature cocktails which were great, one with gin and one with local applejack We had a sparkling rosé, a white, and a red wine- Wine is my passion, and I am very picky and Jessica made great choices. Their servers and bartenders were all lovely. Guests all ate with gusto. Highly recommend. :-)

This is the restaurant that my husband, son and I keep going back to. The service, the food, the everything, so damn delicious!!! The menu is always exciting and delicious. The Soufflé of the day plus the always on the menu fantastic chocolate soufflé are so good, I mean really freaking good, dream about good!!! We will be sad when we leave the area, might be worth a plane ticket to come back and eat at this fantastic restaurant!!!

One of the best ribeye steaks i have had in a restaurant. Cooked perfectly. Excellent wine. A real treat to find this quality in RED HOOK, NY.

Red Hook is fortunate to have flatiron. Good tap list. I got the hanger steak and frites- stellar, perfectly cooked. Pop's lady got the pasta and mushrooms. Looked fantastic. Pop got the duck confit in crepes. Not exactly what he was expecting but it was tasty. Our server was delightful.

Well executed overall. As a vegetarian, for a steak house, always have a great pasta, seafood and vegetarian 'burger' Another visit recently, wonderful choices. Seafood is a highlight, a plus for me. Did I mention the appetizers? And, of course, dessert!

Terrific place to celebrate my husband's 83 birthday! Food was great and service unusually friendly and non intrusive. My favorite: branzino (sea bass)with brocolli rab in an exquisite sauce!!!!!!!!! We can't wait to return.

Everything from the wine to the entree to the dessert was delicious! Tuesday night is apparently wing night so had to try those (ordered garlic parm)… excellent! The steak was extremely tender (best chimichurri I’ve ever had) and the creme brûlée was out of this world. Very cute atmosphere and service to top it all off! Highly recommend trying this place!

The daily special drinks are good the chocolate soufflé was good although the scoop of chocolate. Ice cream was my favorite. Loved the mushroom toast and chowder! Not a long wait either. Ps. The bread they bring out is delicious.

Walked in for dinner with absolutely no expectations since we were starving. I’ve been to my fair share of New American restaurants and boy was I BLOWN away by Flatiron. The food was fantastic and you could tell that care and detail went into every plate. The service was great too, very fast and friendly. I can’t wait to go back!

The night we went the menu was very limited. Food, drinks, and service were good, not great. We will have to try again because the most self important, self absorbed and rude person in the entire state of New York was seated next to us. She talked loudly about how she was put upon and nobody was smart enough to understand her woes. It was so bad it ruined our meal. Which isn't easy to do.

The service, food and drinks were superb. The flavors were complex and distinctive in every dish. It was the most satisfying meal out we've had in a while.

From Chris the bartender to Sean our waiter, the service was excellent. Jess and Craig have maintained incredible food and friendly, inviting atmosphere for many years now. It's been our go to restaurant for date night for the last four or five years and we have never had a disappointing meal or inattentive service. Make a reservation because lots of other people feel the same way!

Top quality food and drink. Service was friendly and informative. Shrimp and grits was perfectly prepared. The baby octopus was the best I ever had. The fresh baked bread was stellar. I wish I had room for dessert the choices were so tempting.

Very good meal and wine. Lovely staff and management. I left my purse there and couldn’t retrieve it for a week. They were great and nice about it from the first moment I called. It’s important to support good businesses who are also good people.

My favorite was the beer selection; its local and diverse, with delicious fruit sour ales. The staff was tentative and knowledgable and the owner is respectable, and runs a genuinely nice restaurant. Highly recommend!

We had a great experience overall Food and service were better than average but my husbands duck burger was supposed to come with Cracklins which we were told "make the dish". Dish came out without the cracklins and when we asked, waiter said they were out(we werent told)and he would make it up at the end. To our disappointment, we received nothing and paid for dessert. Poor practice in that regard

Been there a couple of times. It's always very busy and the food is pretty good. It's nice to see they have grass fed options for beef cuts. Sadly, they don't seem to take special requests for Paleo diets.

Nice but traditional place, nothing fancy. A bit on the pricey side. I had the pork, it was good, but the side wasn't really good. On the other hand, the chocolate souffle was heavenly!

I had the veggie burger—made with eggplant. It was pretty good. I know it’s a steak place but I would have appreciated some/more veggie entree options on the menu. The beer selection was pretty good—they had my favorite variety Kölsch! Clean restrooms. Competent staff.

This place is usually amazing. Went for a late dinner and was pretty disappointed. Salmon (not pictured) came to the table RAW, like raw raw… i asked for medium steak (sirloin pictured ) and got rare… The appetizers were 10/10 but something went wrong with our meals this night :( recommend going earlier for dinner

An extraordinary experience for an unindicted coconspirator and his muse. Food was exceptional, staff was great! The bar provided an exceptional discourse and yummy drinks. I tipped in Euros. If you pass this place by, your missing out in a discreet past and wonderful people.

I have ordered take out at Flat iron multiple times over the last few years. I have been dining out for the last 47 years and I have never had experience like I had tonight. I ordered fries and a glass of wine while waiting for my mashed potatoes to take home, as I was leaving and paying my bill the bar tender “ Lee A.” went out of his way to give me the smallest change possible after I handed him a $100. I was handed back EIGHT PENNIES. I have never heard of this happening in my 47 years of dining out. What a disrespectful bartender. I still gave him a 15% tip and left an extra nickel with the EIGHT Pennie’s so that he doesn’t haven’t to do this to the next customer. What an experience, wow.

Do not feel this place lives up to the standard they had originally set. I understand things change, but do not feel the menu defines well the food being served. The food was passable, but the tortellini and shrimp dish was more a slightly spicy soup. Not at all what was expected. The red snapper fish was ok, but really delicious would be a stretch. Third time I've tried it here, will probably not make it a forth

Our first trip to FlatIron was Saturday August 29. Wait was perfectly reasonable. Service was excellent, food immaculate. Perfect 5 out of 5! So I took my wife out for date night yesterday September 4th. Waiter was very kind and gracious. However, after making our order it took an hour an 40 min until I finally asked if they were close or if we'd have to leave... Our waiter apologized and told us the kitchen was getting bombarded with to go orders and they were working those first and then the diners. I don't agree with that policy, but by that point it was too late to go somewhere else. Then dinner came. Unfortunately my wife's was so over salted it was not edible. We split mine but it was "ok". We informed our waiter that we wanted to leave. As an apology they did not charge us for the meal. It was very good and gracious of them. Customer service is first rate. So it's great or sub par. You have a 50/50 chance. But the service is excellent. So three stars is the best I can give.

Not super, i dont know how they get away with charging 25$ for pasta...

The day we went, we were seated in the side where there was no electric. Eating in the dark was not a great experience. I had the hamburger and wasn’t even able to see if it was cooked to a medium until after I bit into it and found it well done and dry. The fries were good. But the chocolate soufflé was delicious so at least that filled me up. Shame that they didn’t offer anything to compensate for the lack of lighting in our section. We haven’t returned which is a shame as I’d like to try them again since their desert is phenomenal

Went here several times before pandemic hit..It was awesome!! Went tonight, it was so so..received 3 tiny pieces of bread And not enough butter for the bread.Wife ordered fillet medium, it was raw. Duck was ok..Portions are small for the price. Also was never told the price for the fillet special..44 bucks!!! so not worth it..hope things get back to the way they were..Service was not like it use to be either.

Food was very good. Service not so much. Our waiter never offered drinks, specials, dessert or coffee. The real down side was the noise level. Our party of 3, at a small table had to yell to hear each other. Did not enjoy.

We went to try it out and came back with mixed results. The staff was great and attentive. The food was mediocre. I ordered the escargot- flavorless, The bone-in rib eye; rare- could have used some seasoning. The best thing I had was the shaved brussel sprout salad. Seriously. It was very good and the presentation was on point. All in all, the place had good staff, good decor and good location. I just personally think they have to raise their game as far the dishes they offer. I am just going on what I had that night. I will say I would and probably will give it another chance.

The restaurant is open usually to 9pm on a Thursday. Upon leaving the owner was back behind the bar chatting with his friends who i guess are more important than other customers. I gave one last request to why he would treat customers this way and expect them to return. He said he didn't care. Maybe it's a bad night for him for some reason. But it's not a way to keep locals supporting your restaurant. Again, we've had lovely service from Jessica who wasnt there last night. maybe something is wrong and it's an aberration but it's hard to see ever returning. Sadly, Craig lost some good ongoing local business. Beware folks.
