Subarama

Subarama is a great sub shop that is near and dear to my heart. I grew up coming here and the new owners have really brought new life back into it. They have excellent service (even with being short staffed sometimes -- you just have to have patience in the lunch rush hours). You can tell they really care about this business and what it to thrive while also supporting other local businesses. Their food is delicious and I'm never disappointed. I try to tell everyone about them because I'm always surprised at how many people have never been. They go the extra mile for their customers. With being a regular, they even have written down my order and I can call it in quickly on a busy work day! Appreciate you guys!

Best sandwich in Redding. I usually go between the favorite child and farmers daughter, but I am eyeing the tri tip. They pay attention to a lot of fine details on the sandwich that makes a huge difference, and don’t assemble it without understanding that different components of the sandwich should be prepared in different ways. Like toasting with garlic butter exposed and heating the meat separately so they maximize the Maillard reaction and you get different textures with each bite. Just a fire sandwich all around.

Amazing food, we had a family favorite sandwich with soup and a lemon bar. Very good quality and tasty, the employees were kind and polite. Cleanliness was on point too. But definitely go here for the delicious subs. Worth the money

Seriously the best tasting sub/ sandwich I have ever had. Bread fresh, meat and cheese were flavorful. Really cool atmosphere. MUST GO IF IN REDDING!

Stopped in on vacation. so glad we picked local! food is amazing! so many options. inviting atmosphere. love the local art as well. I was craving a good sandwich and this place exceeded everything i had expected. ❤️

We stay on Hilltop in Redding a lot. Subarama is my new favorite go-to spot. The food is delicious, and the owners are absolutely amazing! I highly recommend!!

The best sub sandwichs in Redding look them up go there, you will be blown away. I personally love their chicken bacon ranch, make sure you get everything on it.

This is such a good sandwich shop. Fresh and always good. Its not a big deal bit the crushed Ice is great with your drink. Kind of odd that it makes this place a plus but it does. Oh and the soups are awesome with a bread bowl.

The subs are amazing. It never fails I always get excellent food here. The service is great. Jodi is the best. Always greets us, and makes the subs perfect. I only eat here when Jodi is working.

My favorite sandwich in town now. Never got around to going in, but they have onion rolls, bread bowl soups, ghost pepper jack cheese, good pasta salad, and you get to choose three meats for your sub. There are a lot of great options and it is super tasty.

I "threw a dart" and landed on this place en route to Oregon. Easy off and back on I5 and did not disappoint! Tasty sandwich with quality ingredients, served up by a friendly crew. 5/5 would recommend

A 'locals' sandwich shop. I've been going here for 22yrs, and have always been satisfied. Great sandwich choices. Great service. Never get my order wrong. And, they're always delicious! Love their French dips! Yum!

Our new " go to" place for sandwiches. So fresh and tasty. They really do make it your way. And so many to choose from. It'll take several visits to try them all. If you want something different from the old mundane sandwich, stop by and enjoy a really great sandwich. 👍

Best subs in Redding hands down can't wait to try more of their offerings

I noticed this place had a lot of good reviews. One review specifically recommended the “Farmers Daughter” sub as being excellent. That was no lie, and it had much more flavor than a Subway’s sub. The ladies behind the counter seemed very nice. I ordered and paid for my sandwich online and it was ready 20-30 minutes later when I came in (as they advertised) so thumbs up for prompt service.The only slight thing that was off putting was that the interior was kind of dimly lighted. I don’t eat out much but, I would definitely return sometime and try out some of the other sub sandwiches!

Haven't been here in a long time but I stopped by recently and found out that there are new owners that completely stepped up the quality and service! Had an excellent sandwich and everyone was super kind and provided a easy going and hospitable environment. Will definitely be coming back!

Really nice girl working alone, answering phone calls and taking care of customers. Doing a great job. The sandwiches were huge and very good we enjoyed them watching the 49er game.

New owners really doing a great job! My sandwich was super yummy and the woman who made it was very friendly and a pleasure to order from! The mac salad and Italian pasta salad were killer with NO sugar added, which I appreciate since it seems that sugar is added to everything nowadays. 10/10 can't wait to go back!!

Great place. Management and employees exceptional great atmosphere they actually put meat on your sandwich unlike Subway. And the flavor of their food is mouth watering. I highly recommend trying them out, you won't be satisfied with Subway food anymore. Your greater with high enthusiasm and smiles. My family takes advantage of their hospitality more often than other fast food restaurants in town when out for the day and don't feel like going home and cooking. Fair prices as well. Great place to eat. Try them out

I hadn't been here in years and came by on whim as driving by only to find it had recently been bought by a new owner. The place is amazing now and I have been in at least a dozen times in the last month. The French dip here is now my new favorite in town, and I tried a pizza sub for the first time today and it is next level.

The most meat I've ever gotten on any sub anywhere in town. Food was amazing. Quick service from great staff. You can tell when the staff really care about the food they are making. Definately my go to sandwich shop from now on!

Found this place when I was visiting Redding. Subs are one of my favorite things to eat. This place was great! Got turkey with tons of veggies. Lady behind the counter was so nice. I wish I had a Subarama where I live. I'll definitely be going back if I visit again. Way better than big chain sub shops and prices are same, but you get better food.

Big big shout out to the workers, one lady in particular who took and delivered for free to our house. Told her we didn't have a car and I fell out the shower last week, did damage to my foot. When she delivered it, she ignored our tip and our sandwiches were humongous and inside of the bag was a big cookie that read " Get well soon". Omh! Bless all their souls. Customers and people, make this place your first to order from when your wandering what to eat. Their food is fantastic and the worders are even more fantastic. Thank u so much you guys there. It's still a great sandwich shop. I found the sandwiches are still big and full of meat. I especially love their Dutch Crunch roll but my new fave is the herb-cheese bread. No skimping on chesse nor flavor. Prices are reasonable for what you get.

Sometimes slow but always friendly service with some of the best sandwiches in town. Really friendly vibe with local art hanging on the wall that's available for purchase and the owner seems to want to help her community which is lovely too see

It was a nice atmosphere and the lady working was very nice and made the sandwich good. They have vegan options, store bought (Tofurky meat and Chao cheese)not made in house, but it’s nice to have options. The sub was a great size for the price. It was good but not great if that makes sense? Not sure what it was needing, maybe more flavor to the bread itself? Either way, if I lived here I’d definitely go again. Was nice to stop in while traveling through for a bite to eat though.

A local sandwich shop with a flair all its own. The tri-tip sandwich is among the best I've eaten. If you have a passion for heat, partake of the ghost cheese. I'll be visiting again when I'm back in the area or checking out their Anderson location!

Don’t be scared by the exterior , the sliced turkey sub was delicious after a day at the lake. It’s def has a diner feel to the place

It was under the best sandwich shops in Redding. Not so much! They only made 1 sandwich out of 4 correctly. They also had a bakery... The sprinkles sandwich cookie is ur best bet. Pass on the great looking brownies, not so good.

There was a white hard rock like substance inside one of the meat balls on my sub and it cracked my tooth. Also my bread was burnt but otherwise a decent sandwich.

Got a sandwich here today as I saw a ton of good reviews on our local page for it. Got home and it was missing one of the meats, lettuce, and cucumber. It already felt on the pricey side for what it was & really didn’t feel worth it at the price of $13.99 for a build your own 6 inch, to get home and have 3 items missing. The biggest plus is the bread being soft. Other wise the taste was average. Might give it another try sometime, but uncertain as there’s other local places that’s been really consistent and delicious.

The lady making our sandwiches was rude and not friendly at all. The sandwiches were just ok. Subway is cheaper and equivalent in quality and taste or even better than this place. Charging 40 cents for olives and peppers is unheard of for a sandwich shop to charge. I did not have a first time good experience here.

One of my all time favorite sandwich shops to get for lunch but as of late, everytime i get there my order is never ready after calling in or ordering via doordash with plenty of time before hand to have it done. I would like to keep going here as a loyal customer but i cant just stand there for 15 to 20 minutes of my 30 minute lunch to watch them scramble to make a sub par sandwhich. Will be not going there for a while hopefully they can get things together.

Disgusting. I ordered the favorite child on Dutch crunch and please see the picture because that's what they gave me. The Bread was soft and squishy and not even properly baked. There were two employees and one of them was sipping a drink and not washing her hands and then touching up the baked bread with her bare hands. It was hot inside, so they had fans going, but they hadn't dusted them in probably 5 years and it was blowing right on the food.

I've enjoyed these sandwiches for years, but today was awful. She tried to give me bread flatter than a tortilla that was obviously not fit for customers, the meat was presided instead of sliced to order and dried out, and the bread that wasn't flat was stale, there's no way it was cooked today. All this coupled with absolutely terrible operating hours. Just go get a sandwich from subway or Safeway. This was not worth 15 dollars for an 8 inch sub. Also her attitude tucked and she acted like I was being abusive by ordering a sandwich. I wish I could give this place zero stars. DO NOT GO IT IS NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY

I waited almost a half an hour for a wrap. They called me up with the wrong order twice and promised they were now “working on mine.” Both workers were on the cell phones for the next 10 mins . As I waited with my pager and asked for my money back they said “we have a lot of orders.” Meanwhile no one else was waiting and they quickly gave me my order after I complained, which was half of what my daughter got from the same order earlier. An apology or acknowledgement that they forgot would have made my experience slightly better.
