Amazing views. Right on the water. Food wasn’t great but what you would expect from a restaurant on the pier. I got the fried oysters. I needed to add salt and some hot sauce. I would definitely go back next time I’m in town.
Great atmosphere with the fireplace and ocean view it feels very special. Good value for food. With each main dish you get a soup and a salad. After dinner coffe by the fireplace is our favorite part of experience.
Food was great! We got two lobster tails and a steak ,oysters and clam chowder. Only thing I would skip next time is the clam chowder. Our waiter was super cool. I loved it's vintage look and atmosphere.
Many decades ago, I lived in SoCal and Old Tony's was a favorite hangout. I told our Granddaughter this last weekend when we were visiting and she insisted we go. I was not disappointed! It looks exactly as I remembered it, although the Pier has changed. Tony's was known for their Mai Tai's 🍹 (which had been my go-to in the old days. 😊) So we all ordered one. Yum! Even better than I remember! So we ordered a 2nd round. I wasn't driving so it was cool. 😉 And we had just had lunch so we all had full tummies. Our server was attentive. The atmosphere was lively. We were upstairs so the views were amazing. The only drawback for us older folks, isn't climbing down the stairs to use the restroom. It's the climbing back up! 😁 If you've never been to Tony's, you're missing out on an amazing restaurant. And climbing those stairs snd check out the view.
Can't go wrong with this place! The view can't be beat and the drinks are strong. They used to let you keep the glass when you order a fire chief, but maybe they were just out when we went because they didn't have that option on our visit. The bartender was super busy and barely paid attention to us but we weren't there for the service. Sit back, relax and listen to the live music.
Never miss a summer visit to Old Tony's. The classic Mai Tai is my drink . I have a collection of take home glasses. It's always busy no matter day or time. A very nice local man named Andre, invited us to sit at his table since there were no seats. We were watching a man and his dog playing in the surf. It was a great Sunday afternoon.
In LA for a quick work trip and so glad I decided to stop here for dinner. When I saw this sunset menu for $26 I honestly was in shock. Delicious seafood and soup for under $50?! I will be back. Amazing service, kind people, lovely views and such a bargain for $26 getting soup and a full meal.
Food was fresh and delicious and the table over looking the Ocean 🌊 was just perfect! Think this will be our new favorite restaurant! Edit: Valentine's Day lunch we ordered 4 of the Fire Chiefs from down stairs in the restaurant & they tasted like fruit juice compared to when we went a few months ago to the upstairs bar area. If you want a real strong Fire Chief then I highly highly recommend going upstairs
Hadn’t been to Redondo pier in 30+ years and nice to see Old Tony’s still standing. We just had appetizers, shrimp cocktail and clam strips, and both were excellent. Classic decor looks like Vegas Disney from the 60’s. Hopefully the Redondo pier can keep some of its original charm, as some of the structures are falling into disrepair. Long live Old Tony’s!
Had a brief, wonderful time there! I say brief because we only stopped by for a drink. The views were incredible and the service was fast. I would definitely want to go back for dinner.

Old Tony’s on the Pier is a classic Southern California spot with a warm, nostalgic atmosphere that never disappoints. The view alone makes it worth the visit—you’re literally sitting right over the water, watching the waves roll in while the sun sets behind the boats. The wait staff was incredibly friendly and attentive from the moment we arrived. Our server made sure drinks were always full and that we had everything we needed. I brought my father here for his birthday, and the staff made it special with a surprise dessert and a genuine smile. The in-house photographer was also polite and professional, capturing a great photo we’ll keep as a memory. The food was fresh and flavorful—the seafood was cooked perfectly, and the clam chowder was excellent. Inside, the place has a relaxed 1960s–1970s vibe with signed celebrity photos on the walls, giving it that timeless pier charm. It’s a little tight inside and the restrooms are small, but that adds to the old-school character. Overall, Old Tony’s is a great value for the price and a perfect place for celebrations, date nights, or simply enjoying a classic Redondo Beach experience.
We didn't use the bathroom, but everything seemed clean. The service was swift, attentive, and pleasant. The chowder was kinda warm, not as tasty as I hoped for, and I would probably skip it next time. The oysters were perfect! The fish and chips were just how my wife likes them, and the fries were hot and fresh. The view is priceless. Thank you.
Service was good and view. Salmon Chowder was excellent. Sanddabs was tasty but could have been present better on plate.

Good location on the water with tables outside. Prices reasonable, service very good, and food was surprisingly good. Fair wine and beer selection and prices. Recommend for casual dining.

We absolutely love Tonys. My family has been coming to this iconic restaurant since it opened. We come for holidays, birthdays, weddings and anniversarys. Its the place we go to. So, having said that we ( 11 of us) came to Tonys on Christmas eve. We got seated quickly and was served by Lora. Lora was an absolute gem. The food was good but there were some misses. Our biggest disappointment was the Mai Tais. Now this is Tonys big draw. The drinks were nothing like they used to be. They were very inconsistent and tasted of coconut rum and pineapple. I have had many mai tais over the years and they were never made this way. The fire chiefs were also not good with too much grenadine in it. I feel like Tonys is going down hill which is very sad to us. I really hope that management can make the changes and bring back the famous Mai Tai and keep the true treasure that Tonys used to be.
We visited out of curiosity and were fortunate to get a great seat with a stunning ocean view—truly one of the best vantage points to take in Redondo Beach. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to the setting. Prices felt steep for what was offered, particularly the $9.50 charge for a bottle of Corona, which came across as excessive. The zucchini was decent, but the shrimp were disappointingly small. Service was another area that fell short. Our server seemed overwhelmed and wasn’t able to give us much attention, which detracted from the overall experience. While the view alone is worth a visit, the food and service have room for improvement.
Service was great!! Food wasn't especially great. I didn't taste the love like at some places... \nGreat view of the water!
A bit disappointing. Wife was wanting crab. Was on their 'market price' board but we were told they haven't had crab in months. Shortage? \n\nI got my studded shrimp. Delish. She got the sea bass. …

The place has really gone downhill. The service was excellent! Our server was wonderful! She saved this place from not getting one star review! The food was terrible. The views are wonderful! The tables are grimy and dirty everything feels sticky! The shrimp mac and cheese look like Kraft mac and cheese and it was overcooked. The clam chowder was cheaply made! I was very disappointed because I haven't been here in many, many years and to see it go downhill like this was very sad! Please scrub down your tables and chairs, in fact retire them, get new updated furniture! Fire your cook or get him to start cooking properly! You have a gem being located on the pier! Get back to your roots and bring back that great food!
