Tip: Visit on a Saturday night for live music and a lively environment, but be aware that the music can be loud. Consider trying the salsa sampler, but only if you can handle major heat.

The food is quite good. But the service and atmosphere were what earned the extra stars. The live music was just right. Did not distract and was lovely. Our server was fantastic. He made the experience next level. The food is very good. I think with a few touches it could be even a little better but that is not in any way a criticism. Nothing was disappointing. I just want a little more surprise!
Had a great time at Cuishe Cocina Mexicana. The bone marrow was insanely good, and the bistek torta and tacos were full of flavor. I also loved the salsa flight, it was fun to try different salsas and each one had its own kick. Cocktails were delicious and paired perfectly with the food. Overall great vibes, great food, and definitely a place I’ll be coming back to. 🌮🍹
I went tonight and had great cocktails and amazing food. Taco Tuesday is a vibe. Great choices to the point of me devouring my food. Can’t tell you how amazing the food was. One of the best Mexican food restaurants I believe in San Antonio. Not a Tex mex restaurant but a great Mexican restaurant. Please try and I promise you will be impressed.
Took my wife here for Valentine’s Day, wanted to try something new. The food did not disappoint, our servicer was top notch (Memo), drinks were exceptional, and the band did not disappoint. This will be our new spot moving forward
My husband and I visited this restaurant on a saturday night. I reserved the table for 2 online. Arrived and we were seated right away. My first impression was good. There was live music, the waiter was very friendly and knowledgable. To drink I ordered the Acapulco cocktail, it was Mezcal and guava puree. It was really good. We ordered the Queso fundido con chorizo to start and we liked it. For my entree dish I ordered Enchiladas potosinas that are filled with queso fresco and my husband had the Cazuela Lengua en Salsa verde. Everything was delicious. I highly recommended. I will be back to try other dishes.
We had a great experience at Cuishe Cocina Mexicana. The dishes are absolutely delicious and very original, with creative flavors that really stand out from typical Mexican food. You can tell a lot of thought goes into the menu. They also have an excellent selection of tequilas and mezcales, with plenty of options to choose from. The service was very attentive and friendly throughout our visit. We started with the chicharrón platter, and it was spectacular, crispy, flavorful, and perfect for sharing. Overall, a fantastic spot for great food, drinks, and a great atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back.
We had a wonderful experience at CCM. Service was perfectly timed, attentive but not intrusive. The vibe was geared toward a relaxed crowd with modern decor and trendy music. The food. We had Barria, enchiladas, and tortas and it was all delicious. Sensible portions. It's upscale dining, so slightly pricy, but dad always said that if its good food, its worth it, and the whole experience was outstanding.
Awesome restaurant! We went for dinner and came back the next 2 days for dinner because not only was the food delicious, but the service was amazing and the ambiance was great! Definitely recommend stopping by! We tried different things from the menu every night because it was all so delicious. It’s authentically Mexican food but elevated flavors!
Extraordinary place, the only real, genuine and unique Mexican restaurant in San Antonio for real. Food is out of this world, atmosphere is super nice just perfect, the staff Ricardo lovely and knowledgeable handles things exactly the way they have to be! We love it, we were the twice in a week and we planning to keep going often, we’re so in love! The desert is the most delicious thing on earth!
I dived into this spot on a Saturday evening after having dinner elsewhere. The drinks were great, and the live music had everyone vibing. Definitely need to go back and try the food because all the plates I saw coming out looked amazing. Update: Came back for a birthday celebration and so glad we picked this place. The food is authentic and gives you a “taste of Mexico” Customer service was excellent as always.
Dont be like me 🥸🙊 It took my wife 3 years to convince me to go here and I regret every day that I missed out on this excellent restaurant. The ambiance is super chill, trendy with plants hanging from the ceiling and live music (Sat night). I was still skeptical (being a hater 🥸🤡) thinking it was all a facade. That thought was crushed when our server introduced himself and drinks were delivered. Super friendly staff, very helpful and the drinks were delicious. We ordered almost every taco plate for the table so we could all sample a little of everything and it was all super delicious! 🤤 The pork belly meat was super tender and somewhat sweet which balanced the heat of the salsas. The bistek tacos were 👌 with thin cuts of meat and a delicate balance of seasoning. My favorite however, was the Trompo (al pastor) tacos. They were perfect. The right amount of al pastor seasoning, no grease dripping from the tortillas, and an excellent composition of pineapple, onion and salsa. You can tell the owners/chefs here out their hearts and souls into these dishes. They care about the product that comes out of the kitchen and we get to benefit from this love of food. Don't be like me! Go there sooner than later. I will be back frequently to make up for list time and try as much of the menu as possible.
I highly recommend checking out this fantastic restaurant! From the moment I walked in, the service was top-notch and made me feel right at home. And let's talk about the food - it was absolutely delicious! Every dish was expertly prepared with fresh ingredients and bursting with flavor. I can't recommend this place enough - if you're looking for a fantastic dining experience, this is definitely the spot to visit. Jorge, our server made the difference!
So much fun! We went on a Thursday night and they had music videos playing with the words on the screens at everyone could sing along! This is an upscale place, but they definitely have a great sense of humor. The food- I had the shrimp tacos that were finished on the grill, and my husband had the ribeye. The tacos were a perfect balance of flavors. The shrimp was cooked to perfection, with the poblanos and cheese adding layers of flavor and texture. The ribeye stole the show though, (and while we did not get it, you can have one of their steaks literally coated in edible gold before it is served to you😳). The ambience was a quality rustic feel, with a lot of wood and beautiful art. The only tiny negative I had was we kept asking for drinks that weren't sweet, and they really didn't have any unless you went with straight pours. The selection of mezcal though... Whoa that they have down to a science. . We will definitely be back
We went because I wanted to try the quesadillas de sesos but were told they haven’t had them for over a year. They are on the menu in the restaurant and the menu online. I was disappointed because I really wanted to try them. I ended up getting the flautas even though I read some reviews saying the chicken didn’t have much flavor. I especially liked the crunchiness and size of the flautas. The chicken was plain chicken without a lot of seasonings, but I like it like that because the chicken absorbs the salsas. We had also ordered the salsa sampler. I am used to an order of flautas coming with guacamole and sour cream, so I was missing that. My husband ordered the salmon and thought it was delicious as was the salad included on the plate. He said while he liked the taste of everything, he would have preferred salmon served with a choice of two sides as he isn’t much of a salad guy. The wait staff was very attentive and the atmosphere is very nice.
Good drinks. I pride myself on finding the best and spiciest salsas and let me say this place had the best salsa I’ve had in San Antonio. It was so layered and deep with its flavors and the spice was ridiculous! Don’t get the salsa if you can’t handle major heat. There food offers a very unique experience with lots of flavors.
We came here for my birthday and had a party of 8 in the main dining room. The food and service were great however, we couldn’t even talk to each other because the music was obnoxiously loud. We saw multiple people and servers try to tell the band to lower the volume and they refused. We even tried to tell the band to lower the volume and they wouldn’t. It really took away from the night and made it very hard for us to enjoy ourselves.
We had a couple of dishes and shared, the drinks were really good; the bar tender made them to our liking. We had Paloma’s and cantaritos, I would stick with Paloma’s only next time; cantarito was good just too much. Chicharrón de pulpo was divine, delicately fried for that gentle crisp all while maintaining the tender texture of a perfectly cooked octopus 10/10 wouldn’t recommend. We accompanied it with fried panela, guacamole and cebollitas asadas. The fried panela came out cold so it lost its life, guacamole perfectly seasoned, fresh and chunky, the cebollitas could’ve used more time on the grill. We also ordered the esquite con tuétano, I was super excited about this dish. Although is was a grave disappointment, the esquite was super dry and flavorless. There was no bone marrow in the dish at all, seemed misleading as it’s served out of a bone marrow bone (tuétano). They give you three dots of mayo to cover the esquite and that still didn’t help the dish. 0/10 wouldn’t do again. I let our waitress know after the 2 bites we took and she asked if we wanted it boxed, I said I would like it taken away we would not eat it. (We were still charged for it) We then ordered the grilled octopus, thoughts were if they can fry an octopus image what they can do on a grill. Wrong, I was oh so very wrong, the grilled octopus was over cooked and rubbery, the pastor flavor was caked on the octopus leaving behind the sweet over seasoned tiny little over cooked octopus. We also didn’t finish or even touch this dish much. 0/10 wouldn’t not recommend. The pictures on google showed this luscious thick octopus, that was not what was served. They did the fried octopus so well I’d probably go back and try some other things. It seems meat is their top dish so next time I’d go for that. The ambiance feels like I’m somewhere in the Yucatán. Great for date night drinks and apparently dancing on some Thursdays! Service was impeccable, we were attending as though we were in Mexico. For that I would give this spot 5/10 would probably do again.
Not knowing what we were walking into. Place is excellent for the young ones. They have loud music, kareoke, and very lively environment. I didnt care for the queso fundido due to getting cold really fast. The corn tortillas were too oily for my liking. I did like the salsa sample platter.
I had such high expectations of this place and arrived quite excited. Seeing all the glowing reviews and media features, I was hoping to have a revelatory culinary experience, which is what fine dining should be about. I absolutely love the concept of serving legitimate Mexican food in fine dining that is oddly rare in the states. So I ordered the quesabirria as the waiter recommended. It was flavorful enough but honestly nothing to write home about. The birria was quite good, great concentrated flavors of aromatics and spices. But it was about the same as the taqueria in my neighborhood. Good but not outstanding and nothing unique at all. And it was so greasy that it very quickly got completely sogged out. As for the drinks, I was also excited to try such an extensive selection of fine tequilas. I expected it to be quite a refined offer of the best and I do love a good unique cocktail. That is, if you can get any in your drink! I ordered the cuernavaca cocktail. Sounded so yummy as guanabana.is certainly not a common drink ingredient but unfortunately fell beyond flat. First of all, my glass came out completely plain. Just liquid and ice. Nothing to indicate that it's a cocktail. By appearance it very well could have been a fountain lemonade. My friend's drink also had the minimum salt rim but no garnish whatsoever like the other photos other people posted. Is it too much to add the cucumber garnish? Did the bartender take the night off even though I see him right there behind the bar? But much more upsetting, in both of our drinks, we did not smell tequila, we did not taste tequila, and there was no buzz of tequila. At most, there may have a quarter shot of tequila, if at all. My bet would be there was none at all. The cocktails only offer tequila ghosts. The broken promise of tequila. Getting stood up by tequila. The deadbeat non-existent tequila. We paid nearly $20 for each cocktail, which ended up being mere sodas or mocktails and we didn't get the booze we clearly paid for. My friend and I may not be Hispanic but perhaps there was an underestimation of our palates and exposure to cultural foods. If the menu doesn't suit my taste, that is one thing. But I truly do not appreciate not getting what I was told I was paying for. So it's a hard pass for me from now on. Service was polite so I will drop in one star for that. FYI the minimum tip is 20% here
I came here for a family dinner, the whole experience was underwhelming. I am not sure if they were short staffed or not, but our service was just “okay.” Our waiter Jorge was kind but not super attentive due to having another large table to serve. The reason the restaurant gets a two is because of the inconsistent, bland food. The majority of our food was very bland. Some of the meats were tender but lacking flavor. My sister and I ordered trompo tacos and the meat was inconsistent, she had large tender pieces and I had small greasy scraps. I would not recommend this place for authentic Mexican food.
This place looks nice. It’s in a nice area. The server and staff were ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ all the way. It looks nice. Maybe it’s better for dinner. Not great for lunch. Disappointed in the food. It was average at best. Probably best to avoid the $$$ side of the city for good Mexican food. The place has some unique things. Lacks on the fundamental foods. We got the chilaquiles. Mine was the cream sauce one. Sauce was good. Every part of the rest was mushy. Soft, 99% no crunch. All soggy soft mush. Like something for grandma at the nursing home. If that was the goal, perfect consistency. Covered in a think layer of cheese, that I’d expect in a French onion soup. The other dish was a red sauced. Same as mine. 99% soggy mush. Unlike any chilaquiles I’ve ever had. Not in a good way. I’ve never had lousy chilaquiles until Cuishe. Not kid or family friendly. Unless they are eating a full size meal. No kids menu. We paid $17 just to get her a piece of meat on a tortilla. Also lacking. No sides. Nothing. Again servers and hostess was great. Go here if you want to socialize with nice staff. Not for good food. Especially not chilaquiles or tacos. I could have gotten tacos 200x better at west ave tacos for 15% of the price. Servers:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Food:⭐️😢😢😢😢 Environmental:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Family friendly: ⭐️ Likely to return: -⭐️
Went for my birthday because of the 4.6 rating they had. The food was below average at best. The service was good 👍. I got the vibe that it's more of a night club. Thus the 4.6 rating I gather. I won't be going back unless it's just to drink and salsa dance.
