What a great place with an expansive menu readily available at many hours. We usually go for weekend brunch but the whole menu is available. Their scallop dish is phenomenal! Love their mimosas but you can find great wines in the wine shop which is integrated into the dining area. They have great wines from all over.
My. Oh. My. What a find!! From the time Bebe and I walked in, we felt welcomed. Bebe is my service dog, she’s been traveling with me for two years now, so we’ve had a lot of eatery experiences. Despite her being service and us being permitted to sit inside, I requested to sit on the porch, it’s such a welcoming vibe! Ross seated me and offered to turn on a deck heater for me, which I gratefully accepted. Lars was helping another table and I asked her to get my waiter, yet she offered to expedite things by taking my order, which I appreciated. Lars was able to recommend a fabulous glass of wine to go with my chicken. It was under $10 per glass and a total hidden gem! First course was the goat cheese salad, which is a fabulous mixed green salad with goat cheese, pickled carrots, and cranberries (craisins?). So yummy! I ordered Mary’s chicken while Bebe ordered the puppy bacon. What a fun treat! We’ll be back, what a great experience! Fabulous food, service and vibe. Love it!!!
My husband and I moved to OB last month and have driven the by this place a number of times and we're really excited to finally try it! And while my expectations were blown. This is such a cute Chic fine dining restaurant in the heart of OB! The vibe is so elegant in Old School and cozy! Instead of a wine bottle menu you go and pick out your own wine bottle yourself which is really cool and a fun date idea! I loved everything about this place, our server was amazing, the food was tasty, and I loved the wine! I love the seafood risotto and my Tawny port wine to close the night with our flourless chocolate cake!
This was our favorite meal during our stay in Ocean Beach! Its a wine store/restaurant, upperscale but not snooty. The wine was more than affordable and the staff was very knowledgable. We shared the beat salad, I had the Cioppino, my wife had the sea food risotto. Both dishes were outstanding, and very reasonably priced. If you're looking for a nice meal in OB, dont miss 3rd Corner!
What a great hidden gem! This is one of those times when online search exceeds expectations. After a long day in Sea World we wanted some gourmet food with good wine list. Not only this place has amazing food options, they have a wine store with amazing selections and apart from their wine menu by the glass you can pick any wine bottle from the store with only $7 corkage fee. What restaurant you’ll ever have a bottle of champagne for less than ~$50 and a 1er Cru Bourgogne Pinot Noir for less than $90? Impossible, but yet… possible at this wonderful place. Will definitely return next time we’re in San Diego. And will definitely let our friends know whenever they visit. Thank you so much!!!
This has been a favorite for years, but even though I travel a lot I am always so happy when I come back here to dine. One of the best part is the incredible wines they have! It’s a total five star six diamond experience thank you guys
Loved our dinner here while visiting friends. The service was attentive and helpful. I really enjoyed one of the specials, a duck breast that was perfectly cooked. Other guests loved their cioppino, short rib pasta and seafood risotto. Wine recommendation was spot on.
The food is amazing. I love their seafood risotto and the sea boat scallops. All the staff provide great service. This is also my go to place to buy wine. Their wine selection offers really great old world and new world wines from large to small production wine makers and they have some of the best prices too. They also do wine tastings on most Saturday afternoons. There Wednesday hamburger and wine special is also a must.
We came for dinner and really enjoyed the service and meal options. We loved the seafood risotto and steak, two very good meals we both shared. The service was great, food came in perfect time and nice and hot. Lots of guests celebrating and enjoying birthdays and more, a good setting for a gathering of sorts.
We had an excellent experience at The 3rd Corner in Ocean Beach. The service was warm and attentive. The food was outstanding, fresh, flavorful and beautifully prepared. I enjoyed browsing through the great selection of wine displayed throughout the dining area. I also appreciated that they serve filtered and high quality water. We started with the Caesar salad, which was crisp and refreshing with a creamy dressing, generous shavings of parmesan, and topped with anchovies that added a perfect briny kick The shrimp pasta was perfectly cooked, with generous portions of shrimp, savory herbs, and just the right amount of cheese on top. The short ribs were incredibly tender and rich, served over creamy mashed potatoes with a delicious gravy, paired with fresh sautéed vegetables. The baguette was also baked fresh and had a perfect crust. Everything we tried was spot-on. Highly recommend this place for a great meal and top-notch service!
My husband and I eat here at least twice a month. It’s one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants. Excellent food, prices, & service. Noise level is lower than most restaurants. You can actually have a conversation, imagine that! Seating is in many different rooms: one room holds rows of red wines, seating and a large bar. Another room holds rows of white wine and sparkling wines, plus seating. A third room is seating only. The best selection of wine in Point Loma, and maybe in all of San Diego. I’m a fan of their prix fix menu on Sundays: salad , entree, dessert for about $30. Excellent mussels and fries, salads, hamburgers, ahi en croute, salmon. I’ve stopped ordering the duck confit because the skin has been soft and flabby lately. I prefer it crispy. Also there has not been a sauce served with the duck confit like at some other French restaurants. That’s about the only item I dislike on the entire menu.
Lovely little spot for brunch, fine wines and a delightful experience indoor or outdoor seating. I’ve been coming here for years with my family and it’s a favorite anytime I’m in San Diego. My mom and I went recently and enjoyed Bloody Mary, sangria, salads, soup- and our favorite: the Brie baked in puff pastry. The new outdoor seating is just lovely
Wonderful wine selection - by the glass and retail by the bottle with $5 corkage if you drink while dining. Great prices and lots of options. They hold tastings and wine dinners as well. TIP: Join their wine club which puts you on the mailing list! Full bar including interesting beer, cocktails and spirits. Happy hour Tues-Fri in afternoon as well as some late-night happy hours. Interesting menu. Our faves are scallops, roasted chicken and pork chop. Nice brunch on Saturday and Sunday with bottomless mimosas. Great staff. Reserve as they are often fully booked on weekends. There are multiple seating areas but all indoors.
This is a favorite spot both to buy really good wine at great prices and to enjoy a wonderful tasting or delicious meal. The food is consistently well-prepared and tasty. I've particularly enjoyed their pastas and seafood and their Sunday night special prix fixe meals. They also offer a good selection of beers and cocktails, but their wine selection is outstanding and attractively priced. Service is always friendly and attentive. For wines, you can pick out your bottle from the shop and pay just a small corkage (I think $5, but it may have gone up), but no markup on the bottle. Great buy! They also do special wine dinners, too.
We had a lovely meal this weekend, outside on the back deck/patio. I’m only giving 4 starts because 2 of us got the sea bass and both were slightly overcooked. My friend who got the duck loved it. Desserts were great too. Definitely a nice place to go with a group of friends.
Good food in a pleasant atmosphere. Fresh ingredients, well prepared. I liked being able to buy a bottle of wine in the wine shop and having it with dinner.
Had the short ribs and the chicken sandwich. Wife says short ribs are the best she's ever had. Meanwhile, the chicken sandwich was basically flavorless. The chicken had no flavor it was the strangest thing. All you could taste was some pesto. Wine selection seems very vast and impressive and affordable. Will go again but not for the sandwich.
