We had a good experience at Water Bar overall. The soup was great and full of flavor, and the poke bowl was tasty, though the portion was a bit small. Service was okay and the atmosphere was pleasant. The highlight for us was definitely the view — beautiful and relaxing, making the visit enjoyable despite a few minor downsides.
Awesome! I like the theme, and while it's typically dead after hours, they can deliver a crowd! Mostly known as an eatery. Food is pretty good. 👌
I had an amazing meal here! The ceviche starter was fresh and zesty, a perfect way to start. The fish tacos and salmon sushi roll were deliciously innovative, blending flavors beautifully. As a bonus, we received a free dessert, which was the cherry on top of an already fantastic dining experience. Trendy ambiance, great service, and delectable food make this spot a must-visit!
Great view of the ocean, food drinks, and good food. I definitely recommend. We got oysters, tots, and fish tacos. The oysters were fresh, but a little small. Wasn't sure if it was worth the price point. The tots had cheese and cheeto dust on top, delicious. The fish tacos are a California staple, and they nail em here. The drinks were good and stiff too. We were happy customers.
Came for valentines dinner and loved it! Food was amazing, super flavorful and well cooked(we had the short rib and the coconut halibut, crème brûlée and lemon tarts for dessert) and drinks were too(blonde ale and house margarita)! Staff is super chill and nice, we got there early for our reservation and got seated immediately and server was perfect amount of communication and letting us chill. All in all we’re super excited to come back, especially during summer!
We stopped by Waterbar on Christmas Eve for a drink before dinner. We stay down in PB for the holidays every year, and have seen this place since it first opened. Last year around this time we peeked our head in to see the space, but didn’t stay. Located upstairs, the venue is large and well-lit, with windows overlooking Pacific Beach and the boardwalk. When we arrived, we were greeted by a local patron at the bar. He noticed my 49ers hat and made a joke about keeping me and the owner away from each other, because he is also a Niners fan. Immediately loved the vibes. There were a decent amount of people there for it being Christmas Eve, but it was still pretty open. We were seated at a long high-top table for our group of 7, with one kid. The restaurant was all decorated for the holidays, and they had a pop-up situation with some fun themed drinks and even a giant inflatable igloo for people to play in! We ordered a variety of beverages, many from the “Tinsel & Tides” menu, including the Candied Cranberry Punch, Maple Smoked Old Fashioned, and Spiced Peartini. All of which were fun, and received positive feedback on taste. In addition to the holiday drinks, they have quite an extensive list of around 14 cocktails, and 2 mocktails. The cocktail prices range from $15 - $18, and even have fun little photos on the menu next to the description. They have a section of 6 specialty margaritas, over a dozen canned beverage options, and over 2 dozen beverages on draft. You can find an entire page of wine options. From bubbles, to rosé, to whites and reds. You can buy it by the glass or the bottle. Beyond drinks, there’s a nice looking food menu. Mostly seafood and Asian inspired, the menu featured items such as crispy calamari, crab Rangoon dip, ahi tuna poke, ceviche, sashimi, and various sushi rolls. There are several soup and salad options, as well as a dozen or so entree options, and a half dozen side dishes such as fries, coleslaw, veggies, and mac & cheese. There’s also a brunch menu, which is available Saturday & Sunday from 9am - 2pm, and includes some boozy drink options like a Bloody Mary and bottomless mimosas. There are around 8 entree options, and another 8 or so brunch themed sides. While we didn’t get to try the food this time around, the menu looked good enough that we are planning to come back for a legit meal. There is an “Oyster and Martini Wednesday” from 3pm to close, where oysters are 50% off, and martinis are $10. We happened to be there on a Wednesday, however the deal wasn't applicable due to the holiday. Our server, Destiny, was friendly and helpful with info and drink recommendations. The vibes were great here, and everybody was very welcoming. This is definitely a place we’ll be adding to the regular rotation during our trips to PB! IG: @bbnem.eats
Had a great experience here while visiting from out of town! Michael was our server and was so friendly! The food was delicious! The oysters were from Baja and so tasty. The open windows and view of the beach was also great. Highly recommend this place for good food and a beach vibe.
Really enjoyed my visit for happy hour! Good happy hour menu btw. Grabbed a table next to the window... beautiful ocean side views. The sunset was spectacular! 😍 Customer service was on point and the convenient parking lot made the experience even better! Will definitely return!
Visited this location on a work thing. Gave me an excuse to try as many things as we wanted (lol) kept it simple and we ordered a fish sandwich, Caesar salad (I know boring), fish and chips, fried calamari, and some other stuff that I forget. Food was good, definitely got our moneys worth (and by ours I mean the company chose well for a tax write off). Staff was super friendly and helpful and took their time answering our questions, especially given how large our party was. We visited in the evening around 5pm on a Wednesday night and the restaurant was not as busy as it appears in some of the other reviews. It was actually surprisingly quiet and it gave is the chance to talk to each other without having the need to yell over music or other tables. Parking is super tricky, there is some parking in front of the place but because it is a busy area, I would not rely on it. There is parking to the sides of the building but it's not super close and its a few minute walk.

View is amazing at sunset!! Food was great! Loved the sweet chili wings! Gets a little cold after sunset if you’re seated by the windows but they closed them for us no problem. It’s a great spot to enjoy the view, a drink and people watch 😊

I was looking for a nicer place to eat from the usual beach bars and saw this place. It was going to be a bit more expensive but looked very nice. Arriving at 3pm I was handed the happy hour menu (Mon - Fri 3 - 6pm) and saw $6 draft (good selection) and happy hour food. I got 2 sushi rolls (spicy ahi and yellow tail) for $8 each (regular $15), as good as any sushi bar. So I had good food and beer for a very reasonable price, good service and a nice place to sit and watch the ocean.
We walked on the beachfront to the restaurant. Parking may be right. Fun upstairs joint overlooking the beach and the Pacific. There was a DJ and the music was hopping. Jess, our waiter, was fabulous and just the right amount of attentive. The food was delicious and ample. I had the fish tacos and garden salad with a creamy vinaigrette and my date had the steak frites after an chilled half-dozen oysters. The cocktails were well-made and delectable. A fun night out, and we'd go again!

Limited seating against the ocean window view but beautiful if you get lucky and get a table there. The staff was nice and opened the giant window next to the table so we could see and hear the beach. Went during midday and again for breakfast, and both times were amazing and the food was great. The espresso martinis are great but a little pricey yet well worth the experience of sipping one while smelling the ocean and enjoying the breeze from just above street level. Definitely recommend for anyone visiting or out for a night.
We came in on a Saturday around 6 for dinner. It had a good crowd, but we got in right away for a table for 4. Good food and service over looking the beach. we hung out for a few hours. As we were leaving, it was turning in to a night club with a cover charge of what I believe was 40 bucks.

Great looking restaurant with a killer view of the ocean. A huge selection of liquor on display. We enjoyed our meal and left happy and full. The pricing is pretty reasonable. We tried the Lobster Roll, Clam Chowder, Double Smash Burger, and Fish & Chips. Everything was delish. A great place to enjoy overall. We parked in their lot directly behind the restaurant. They offer 2,hours of free parking.

The location on PB is amazing and the food is not bad at all. I loved their calamari that you need to try. The servers were very friendly too.

As a native Alaskan, I’ve become pretty picky about the quality of claimed “fresh fish” from restaurants- but the Waterbar’s Coconut encrusted Halibut was phenomenal. The fish was flaky, not under or over cooked, and not greasy (having been encrusted in coconut batter). The blood orange butter wasn’t overly sweet and complimented the subtle but tasty tropical flavored theme. Would definitely recommend.

I had the sweet and spicy wings, good flavor and presentation, wings were a bit dry. My wife had the fish and chips, which were good. Drinks on the pricey side. Great service and atmosphere.

Pretty nice restaurant overlooking Pacific Beach. Food prices are on the higher end, the taste of the food was decent, but needed something more for a higher review. The calamari appetizer dish was a little greasy. The fried fish from the fish and chips was good but the fries tasted "off". Scallops were made perfect but the combination on the plate with the blanched peas and carrots lacked some flavor. Also had a sushi plate that was tasty.
