Tried a bunch of food and was really good. The view at the Pier was an added benefit. We went there in February. So sitting under the sun in the cool breeze and dining was great. The tacos was great. Carne Asada was a little too oily. But tasted great. Nacho chips had a huge portion. The fries were bombastic.

Absolutely loved the food. We ordered chicken Tacos and Enchiladas. Service was fast and the place was very clean and beautiful! Would love to go back there if I ever come back to this city. However I felt it’s quite expensive than what I expected.

Their patio is a very good place to hangout. And it has great view of the docks and the city skyline. Their food was amazing and they’re pretty quick to serve. We tried cheesy nachos, sweet corn, and couple of vegetarian tacos and it was so good.

A bright new Mexican spot on PIER 39 with a variety of tacos and small bites. They have a full bar with a handful of frozen margaritas, as well as agua frescas. The staff are delightful and friendly! I look forward to dining on the patio when it’s warmer!

Really delicious food. The 2 tacos special come with a fried tortilla, so if you want something more traditional make sure you note that. There’s a margarita flight which is delicious!!! 1 is enough for 2 ppl. Make sure you try their ceviche! Nice views and super friendly staff

Stopped for a quick bite and this was perfect. We had the chicken tacos which cost US$7 each and you can customise the ingredients which we did. They came out quickly and were super fresh. We ended going back for another one each so safe to say we thought they were delicious. An added bonus was the outdoor seating which had a nice view over the marina.

Was visiting San Francisco in January, and went there on a whim while visiting the piers. The first time we had Brian (or Bryan, I cant remember) who was amazing so we went back again. David was our server at the bar this time, but he was just as amazing. Both are very welcoming and great conversationalists. The food was great, especially the fish tacos and the hibiscus margarita. Would definitely revisit if I'm in the area again.

Nobody was here when I visited on a Friday evening which I thought was a little strange. The tacos were good overall but the drinks had very little alcohol. It's a counter serve place and I hadnt expected much, but was surprised by the lobster taco and shrimp taco. The Baja fish was a little dry.

Love these tacos! Great flavor and so many options. Even vegan ones. They are expensive though. We had 10 tacos for $72. The staff was nice but very busy. I liked the vibe of the place and that they had cleans restrooms.

The food was good. We got a Shrimp Taco and a Baja Fish Taco. Between the 2, the Shrimp was the MVP. The Margaritas were super good too. Our orders came out quickly, were still hot, and the host at the front desk was not only super complimentary to me when I ordered, but also in person when she came out on the patio. Between in inside seating and the patio overlooking the water, the atmosphere was great. They were also playing great music.

Great views, the food is great and well priced. The drinks however, very high price (excellent margaritas) but $24 was a surprise even for San Fran. The service was excellent, fast and courteous. I would certainly recommend and would return. Pier 39 is such a great place, Taco Cantina certainly fits in.

The carnitas were dripping in oil, the Al pastor portion was smaller, and the ceviche tasted fishy, lacked seasoning and did not seem like it had enough lemon. Unfortunately have to decrease my rating. Still a nice place to sit, cheaper than the other options in the area. But no longer anything special for me. Way over price! $80 plus! for 2 drinks and 4 tacos 😳 👎 NOPE old fashion was full of sugar….however he was kind and made me a mojito which was awesome! Thank you

On July 12th, I experienced the most terrifying and dangerous allergic reaction of my life at Taco Cantina, due entirely to your staff’s negligence. I clearly and explicitly informed both the waiter and the chef that I am severely allergic to shellfish and that my food must be prepared on a grill with zero shellfish contamination. This is not a preference, this is a life-or-death medical requirement. Despite my clear instructions, my food was prepared in a fryer where shellfish and other seafood items are cooked. Thirty minutes later, while walking up Stockton Street, I began struggling to breathe. Emergency medical services had to respond immediately, administering an epinephrine injection to save my life. Food allergies are not a minor inconvenience they are a serious, potentially fatal medical condition. This incident could have ended with my death. The lack of care and disregard for proper allergy protocol shown by your staff is unacceptable and inexcusable. Your team’s failure to take my warning seriously and to follow basic cross-contamination prevention procedures put my life at extreme risk. I expect a formal acknowledgement of this incident, an immediate review of your food-handling protocols, and assurance that no other customer will ever be put in this position again.

Obviously being located on the tourist trap that is Pier 39 the prices at all restaurants will be higher. But over $8 *per* taco? This place is having a laugh. We thought there would be two per portion and then one tiny taco arrived. I’ve never paid over $5 for a taco anywhere - a tiny piece of taco with one piece of fish? The actual taste was nice but unless you want to pay $8 for a single tiny taco don’t eat here.

Be careful to not move the Impossible Taco as it may leave a trail of oil behind it. I ordered the vegan tacos and they were blend and greasy.

My husband had a carne asada taco & said he’s had beef jerky that was more tender. I had carnitas that was ok. Hubby had a rum & coke was only 1/2 glass! Expensive for what we ordered. Would not go back but it’s a tourist place, so they don’t have to be consistent.
