Opiniones de Wakaba Sushi & Noodle San Francisco
Located in the D wing of San Francisco International Airport, this little Japanese "fast" food serves up some warm comforting food. Broth is simple yet flavourful, but most importantly it just satisfies when you're spending hours waiting for your next flight. Food gets served up quickly, and there's plenty of tables to enjoy your meal!
Fast tasty and cheap (for an airport) what more can you want. The teriyaki chicken bowl take just a few minutes from ordering to being delivered hot and ready. If you are traveling through the d gates and want a good place to eat stop by here. Friendly staff and fast service. The chicken bowl is a healthy portion and will keep you full across a long flight.
I'm in SFO all the time. Wakaba is one of my stops and fave restaurants there. Healthy and filling broths and soups, good portions and good price especially for airport food. Quick and easy pick up and go. Highly recommended
The teriyaki bowl is it's pretty hefty and at $14 not unreasonable price (for airports even). Would be nice if served in some kind of to-go package as it's that big you'd probably want to eat half in one sitting. Even more cost effective if you split it with someone. Very tasty and fresh too. Service was surprisingly fast. The utensils are.... odd... these flat wooden things. They work okay but are more obnoxious. Overall solid dining choice and I recommend 👌
Very nice portion bento box with a lot of Teriyaki chicken and some salmon. Pretty tasty and satisfying for airport food.
I had to come back after it left such a good impression on me the first time. The soup for the beef udon was freaking delicious like I remembered it. It is so satisfying and does not disappoint. The beef was good but I wish it had more flavor. The beef curry is still as good as I remember it. I'm not sured what happened but there was a random piece of chicken in it --- The udon noodle with shrimp tempura was freaking delicious. The udon noodle came out pipping hot but it was so good, I couldn't stop eating even though I was sweating like crazy and burnt my tongue every time I took a sip of the soup. The shrimp tempura was oily and was more of a side dish. The beef curry rice was also freaking delicious even when it was cold. The curry was full of flavor and the giant pieces of carrot and potato were nice. I wish I could have tried it when it was hot but I was too full after eating the udon noodles.
Tired of burgers and fries? Mexican food that’s becoming less authentic? Individual pizzas that will not fill you up? These items are featured at most airports throughout the US. How about some Japanese cuisine? Enter, Wakaba, Sushi and Noodles restaurant, located in terminal 2 at SFO. Thus far I’ve tried their Miso soup, Chicken curry, and salmon plate. But I find their beef curry very good and filling. It runs about $15.00 plus tax, but for the airport I don’t think you can beat that offer.
Fantastic bento box! I asked to substitute the chicken, and they happily offered two shrimp tempuras instead—delicious and perfectly cooked. The rice was spot-on—fluffy, and clearly they knew how to cook rice. Service was fast and thoughtful, with both a spoon and chopsticks, plus napkins provided without needing to ask. Seating was easy to find, and the location couldn’t be more convenient—right in front of Gate D10 in Terminal 2. Highly recommend for a quick, satisfying meal at the airport!
The deluxe ramen is amazing. One of the best meals out of all airport foods I’ve tried. Lots of quality protein: beef, chicken, tofu, and a tempura prawn, plus lots of healthy seaweed. I’m impressed!

Food was good and decent value for airport meal.

The deluxe udon was delicious! And you can order it to go and it's an easy meal on the plane! I wish they had a Wakaba at every airport this would be my go to for sure. Great portion size as well and fast service !
Surprisingly good for airport food, and affordable comparing to other places. The spicy tuna sushi roll was good, and the salmon bowl was even better, it was really good and a larger portion than I expected. I wish it had a bit more teriyaki sauce though but still very good.
I only tried the tempura soba but everything looked delicious and prices were completely reasonable for an airport. You can either buy a premade sandwich for $20 or a freshly prepared Japanese dish for the same price, you choose.

Airport dining is typically overpriced and not good. Wakaba is an exception. My beef curry and rice was delicious. Not cheap but worth it. The carrots in the curry were the right texture - not mushy but firm enough to feel fresh. It’s a hearty meal, too. It’s a good place to stop on a layover.
One of the better priced options in terminal 2 in SFO, most items are <$15 before tax. Service was great, they seem to take care when preparing and do not feel pressured by the lines and only take in orders they can handle! I took it to go, but it is a food court style so nothing special about atmosphere. Food tasted good, but the spicy chicken wasn’t spicy. :)
Decent quick Asian food for the airport. It’s overpriced for what it is, but it’s in the airport so what do you expect. I’m usually not a huge fan of California rolls but I did like theirs—not too mayo-heavy as California rolls often are. I was hungover at the airport with a queasy stomach, so wanted to eat something carb-y but not too heavy or oily. Their deluxe sushi platter was perfect for that! Felt much better after eating it.
February 2025: Ordered a chicken teriyaki over rice 🍚 to bring on the plane. The chicken seems like it was char grilled. Rice is a short grain rice that is sticky. Pretty tasty 😋. Vegetables are the mixed vegetables you get from a frozen bag. Could use an upgrade. Teriyaki sauce is poured over everything. Service was friendly and food came out fast. Overall, happy with this dish. Better than other airport options.
The Teriyaki Chicken good, and accompanying rice is better quality than expected… and the Miso is very good, but the price is very high and it’s still airport food. The seating is food court style open seating.
For airport food, it exceeded expectations. The atmosphere in the airport is thick with stress, so you are already predisposed for a bad experience, but the curry was excellent. The hearty chunks of soft carrot and potato were comforting as were the American-sized hunks of tasty chicken. The chicken seemed cut by hand and there were little bits of skin, fat and cartilage attached which I loved, but might not be everyone’s cup of tea. The curry sauce was stimulatingly spiced and it was warm and soothing to my perturbed soul. Bonus: if you arrive at the exact, right moment, you can get a freshly made box of sushi, before the rice gets hard and cold from the fridge! No wasabi hidden under the fish in the sushi. This was appreciated by my teen. Why don’t they use mayo or cucumber in the Californian California rolls? Regional variations I suppose. Price seemed fair. Only $15.50 for the generous bowl of curry. 20ish for the sushi. This portion was shared between three people.
Wakaba would be a good spot to grab some sushi in terminal D except that there really isn’t any place to sit. For premade sushi, it’s reasonably good although at an airport premium price. They do have a large selection of sake, and it was not crowded.
Better than expected. The tofu udon comes with a lot of wakame. It’s a little salty.
Airport food that is fast, and somewhat healthy. Ordered chicken teriyaki. Was good for airport food I suppose. The teriyaki sauce is quite a bit sweet and not very spiced. Veggies seem like frozen bag veggies. Chicken is boiled but cooked well. About $16.
Great dining option at Terminal 2 in SFO (post security check for departures OR arrival at Terminal 2). We've tried their Teriyaki Chicken Bowl, Curry Beef Rice and Curry Chicken Rice. All were great but our favourite was the Curry Chicken Rice! Homey and tasty! They also sell Calbee chips and a variety of sake and other Japanese drinks!

It's an airport spot, so should be judged accordingly. Prices are high but standard for airside restaurants. The udon was springy and served with a warm, comforting broth. The tempura shrimp were crispy without being too greasy. No complaints for a satisfying bowl of noodles.
Not what I expected when I ordered a hometown favorite. This is not Seattle style Teriyaki. The chicken tastes stewed, not grilled. Somehow the chunks of chicken thigh are dry. The sauce is okay but missing some expected characteristics. This sauce is not as sweet as Seattle style, but it is not the right consistency to flavor my rice. But what really turned me off is the semi-cold microwaved mixed vegetables on top. The menu photos didn't show what this dish looked like.. I would have passed, but now you can see a photo and make informed decision. Next time, I will get teriyaki after the flight.
Mid service, Teriyaki Chicken was alright at best. Came here because it was cheaper but wished I went to Andale instead.
I showed up for my flight VERY hung over and so a nice bowl of soup sounded like a good idea. The broth was tasty, as were the noodles and meat. Otherwise it was crappy and way overpriced at $18.
Fine enough food and no problems with the service, but the combination of airports being too expensive and San Francisco being to expensive means you'll be paying nearly 30 dollars for 8 dollars worth of sushi. I'd avoid eating anywhere in the airport. In fact, I'd avoid San Francisco. Bring snacks with you when you fly so you can avoid eating in airports during layovers.

Over priced and the food was poorly prepared. It seems the ramen is a simplified version of ramen. Or maybe it is just not a good bowl of noodlr at all since they seem to cut the corner by not providng quality ingredients at all. We understand it is inside the airport where people have few choices of ramen to select from. The noodle is not well cooked, and it has very little amout of meat. Not worth the price.
Lines were short, service was quick, food was hot. Serving is good for 2-3 people if you’re a small Filipino. Expensive as usual. Teriyaki chicken rice bowl is $16 with all the tax. If you’re coming from Asia then you be expecting authentic tastes with best ingredients with the price paid - but this is America so overall 2-2.5 stars for what I ordered.
The teriyaki chicken tastes like they boiled a chicken breast and ladled a sugary sauce over top of it. The chicken didn’t taste fresh, either. Least satisfying meal I’ve attempted to eat in a long time.
Review by an American. If you know what teriyaki is, skip this place. If you've never heard the word before, keep reading. The chicken was cooked well, the teriyaki sauce tasted ok, but I wouldn't call this "Teriyaki Chicken." It was plain roasted chicken, with little to no taste, with a light drizzle of teriyaki sauce. Even though I got an extra sauce on the side, it wasn't enough to save this dish. Add a bed of rice and some canned succotash, and you get a perfect disappointment of a meal for $16. It was mostly edible. Recommendation : change the name of this restaurant to "Baka" in honor of those who like the food.

Ramen soup (with chicken) had a very strong fishy taste. The chicken teriyaki bowl was dry and the chicken was fatty. California sushi rolls weren't fresh.
The food is awful. Frozen veg and plain chicken on rice with a 1/4 cup of bottled teriyaki sauce dumped on it. The sushi was mushy and clearly not fresh enough to be any good.
