Such a rare gem! This was a hidden treasure. The atmosphere was beautiful with a cackling fire in the back. We started off with a sopaipilla filled with wild rice, pinto beans and Chico’s over chimayo red chili & some delicious calamari over a lemon parsley butter sauce. For our entrees, we did the wagyu steak & the pork chop with fresh vegetables and potatoes. So good we could barely put our forks down. Our waiter Zach was great and friendly. For dessert we tried the famous Flan, ice cream trio with fresh berries, and the lava cake. As full as we were, we had to finish our dessert. The food was reasonably priced and so tasteful. I can’t wait for our next visit.
We had a wonderful New Year’s Eve dinner. Beautiful dining room with classical guitar music and cozy fire. I had delicious lamb chops and veggies. Others had the posole, halibut, and filet and all were very happy. It was a special and memorable dinner for our family with incredible service, quality, and ambiance.
Best food in Santa Fe. This restaurant changed the name due to old owner passing away and the service or food are phenomenal!!!
Great restaurant in Hotel Chimayo
El Rincon is a very special, small dining room experience that delivers exceptional farm to table quality food and personalized service. My Black Angus fillet was excellent and was served with mashed potatoes and asparagus! I talked about it all week!! Don't miss this experience on your next trip to Santa Fe!!
What a find, the staff provided amazing service and every courtesy. Food was cooked to perfection, I would highly recommend.
We love love love this place!!! Service was awesome, food was the best we had on our stay this week. The new name has not changed anything about the restaurant and its place in our heart .....wonderful!!!
My wife and I went to Santa Fe for our honeymoon and had dinner there. It was amazing, all of the above was amazing. Thank you all so much for everything
Our group of 4 enjoyed a great dinner at El Rincon. Elegant setting, delicious food and very attentive staff. If we were local, we would come back again !
We had an incredible Mother’s Day meal. I can’t wait to return. Our server had tremendous wine knowledge, and the price fixe options were all delicious.
All of Estevan’s amazing recipes and outstanding service! A truly hidden gem that has thankfully kept in the family!
Awesome place! amazing food, great service, and everything was absolutely wonderful.
stellar service from Sean, great food. great Christmas Eve experience.
Superior food. Sides complemented the main course.
Incredible menu and the ambience of Old Europe. Great service, too
Great food!
Great place for dinner!
To start, this restaurant has *exceptional* service. My wife accidentally dropped a knife, someone jumped to take it away and replace it. Water, drinks, dishes, anything and everything is attended to by all members of staff— bus staff, waiters, and manager— at the highest level. The food is quite good. Some of the pairings are strange to me- for example the wagyu steak came with an enchilada. Sure that’s very NM but not quite what people might expect. Lamb chops were sublime. Portions were good. The restaurant is intimate and cozy. Fireplace was burning wood (Dec visit) and everything was decorated nicely. I do wish they’d have salt and pepper on the tables. I realize that’s a no-no for high end restaurants but come on now, I’m an adult and maybe I like my food salty. Overall, definitely one of my top picks for downtown Santa Fe.
One of the best meals I have ever had! Everything was truly amazing! The atmosphere felted like a warm family hug and I cannot rave enough about the food. Impeccable!
We just finished what was probably one of the best meals we've had in a very long time! I had the arugula, apple and goat cheese salad and a glass of the Albariño Grabazán, followed by the filet and finished with the Taos Cow cherry, Mexican chocolate and caramel ice cream. The service was excellent and the cafe's ambiance is warm, cosy and inviting; definitely El Rincon!
The food is on another level. Each dish was one of the best I've ever had. The atmosphere is cozy and the service is great. I will definitely be back
This may be the most overlooked place in Santa Fe. Both our meals were served perfectly! I can not say enough about the Lamb Chops, incredible! Our server Zach was fantastic. Small place, great atmosphere, incredible Lamb and sides.
El Rincon is a delicious northern New Mexican restaurant in the heart of downtown. We were lucky enough to sit next to the fire where our server Gabe took exceptional care of us. He was knowledgeable in Wine selections as well as sent in the correct direction with appetizers, entrées, and dinner We will definitely return!!
Amazing food. Best steak I’ve had in years, dad’s halibut was amazing, mom’s lamb was extra tender and amazing. The wait staff was fantastic. Can’t recommend it enough.
Upscale cozy restaurant with a unique farm to table menu!!! The food was excellent. Salmon appetizers,Estevan salad with the best vinaigrette ever!! The Arctic char entree was so buttery and moist. Followed up with Goat milk flan, what can I say? Superb service! I’m coming back next week.
We had an incredible meal at El Rincon. The starter chili relleno with mushrooms was absolutely one of the best things I have eaten. The lamb and quail were handled perfectly in delicate sauces. Great service and wine as well.
So surprised! I read the reviews on Santa Fe restaurants and I cannot wait to try them…. This was a Huge disappointment, blend, uninspired, faceless plates of food that I was sad to just see them, never mind taste or composition! You Foodies can keep this town!
The food is tasty if only the portions were of a decent size. I found it to be pretentious and ridiculously expensive given the stingy portions served. The service was slow and it is not a place I would recommend to anyone.
Made a reservation weeks out they wait till One hours before to tell me they have enough liquor license via a text. Trash restaurant don’t waste your time
I have literally never left a one star review. Typically, I think people who leave them are stuck-up and rude. However, given the number of 5 star reviews, and the fact I'm writing this review eating a delicious do-over dinner at another restaurant, I felt I needed to leave a warning for others so they don't throw away $100 on a dinner for 2 that was one of the worst dining experiences my wife and I have ever had. The service was perfectly fine, the server was nice and attentive and was very understanding when we sent the very very undercooked steak back. However, the food was incredibly disappointing. If you're looking for an enchilada, Smith's has a frozen food section I'd recommend before I recommended this enchilada. The steak we ordered, as I mentioned, was incredibly undercooked the first time, still undercooked the second. We decided it wasn't worth asking a second time and technically safe to eat so we just wolfed it down. Calamari had some nice green chili flavors, no huge complaints on that dish other than the small portion. As for the atmosphere, not as advertised in the pictures. Looked like a fun/upscale place with lights, ristras, the works. We walked in to no ristras, music that made us want to take a nap, and an empty restaurant on a Saturday night. I mentioned it further up but it was SO disappointing we made space to go somewhere else and eat a second dinner because that simply couldn't be our last meal in Santa Fe. Thankfully, the portions were small enough we didn't have to try too hard to make space for a second dinner. Stay away.
