Opiniones de Shaw's Restaurant Santa Maria
Always busy, always loud, with a great bar and a fun atmosphere , Shaw's is clearly the best American food restaurant in Santa Maria. If you like meats, chicken, and fresh fish grilled of an open fire, crisp salads, great homemade sides, then this is the place. The staff is always welcoming and the service is attentive but not overbearing. Come alone, as a couple, or with a large party... you'll be glad you did.
If your looking for steak or seafood this is the place to go. As soon as you walk in you get that smokey oak wood scent in the air and you know your food is going to be great. The steaks and seafood we're out of this world and cooked to perfection. One of the tri tip steaks comes with a chipotle dip, ask for this with any steak as it was out of this world. Can't go wrong eating here.....enjoy
The bartender was such a sweet ❤️ Kimmie is cute bubbly and friendly. The drinks are good and not too expensive. I like to go and have a quiet beer and good conversation, Kimmie is smart and well educated, she could easily work any where, I'm just glad she chooses Shaws. 5⭐s
We were told we needed to go here for a Santa Maria Tri-tip experience. We loved the hometown feel, the nice atmosphere, our waitress, Bridgette was awesome and explained the salsa and crackers thing…lol. We got the tri-tip and linguica special and wow, we were pleasantly surprised. We are taking home as much as we ate. Portions are huge! Delicious beans, bread and salad as well. Great place!
1. very friendly and professional service 2. Great ambience 3. the steaks, the salads, the food in general was excellent!! 4. the grill over the fire is special, but in a good way, as you can see in the picture - you can taste that 👍👍 We ordered The baby ribs, one Rib eye and the pork chops It was amazing definitely worth the money!!
The tri tip sandwich made my day! It was great! I will be back!
This is THE place I take out of town guests. I’ve consistently had a great meal here. The atmosphere is perfect for a fine steakhouse. My opinion is that it is head and shoulders above the “other places” in Casmalia and Nipomo that “shall not be named”.
Very large portions i got the ribeye.. it came with soup. Beans,Large toast, veggie plate, enormous loaded baked potato and a tomato soup. Price is fair and the service was good. There are plenty of fancier options but this one just works its filling tastes good and indont have to spend a ton of money
I had the baby back ribs, the portion is insane! I absolutely loved it. I will definitely be coming back!
Relaxing environment. Clean facility, you can dress up or come in after a long day of work. There is no judgement at all! Loved the service and quality of food. The staff were all welcoming and polite, knowledgeable and welcoming. Make a reservation if you'd like, we did just in case.
Visited this restaurant on a fluke, just driving through town. We ordered the tri tip and linguica plate, tri tip sandwich, and nuggets for the little one, with all of the fixins; veggie appetizer plate, salsa, baked potato, fries, cole slaw, piquinto beans, and garlic bread. The beef was tender and juicy. The linguica was flavorful and perfectly spiced. The nuggets were real chicken breast. The portions were large and the service was great. Everyone was so friendly from the moment we stepped in, throughout our dining experience, and even while we were leaving. You must try the chipotle sauce!
This restaurant offers a truly unique dining experience with its focus on wood-fired cooking, which adds a distinct and delicious flavor to every dish. Our family thoroughly enjoyed sampling a variety of meats, each expertly prepared and seasoned to perfection. The ribs, while not falling off the bone, had an incredible depth of flavor that kept us coming back for more. The service was warm, attentive, and efficient, ensuring our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. What stood out most were the portion sizes—generous enough that three dishes comfortably satisfied our group of five. To top it all off, the white chocolate and cherry pudding was nothing short of exceptional, offering a perfect balance of sweetness and texture. This restaurant combines great food, excellent service, and an inviting atmosphere, making it a must-visit spot. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable meal.
Excellent service and the steak was cooked to perfection. The sides were good and atmosphere was exactly what I would want from a steakhouse. Easy 10/10.
We arrived around 9:10 PM, promptly seated, Aimee was super knowledgeable and friendly. She definitely helped make the experience an 11/10! The food was delicious and perfectly cooked, we had Filets and the Rib-eye that were expertly crafted! The drinks were superb and the entire night was fantastic. Will definitely go back again!
When you start with a relish tray you know you are in for a treat. Starter salad is ice cold and what an overlooked treat. The dinner comes with a loaded baked potato, garlic toast and a side pot of beans. I typically don't love beans but you can tell these have been perfected over their 70 years. If you say you can make a better tri-tip you are lying. The tenderness and perfect seasoning can't be beat. Congratulations on your 70th year and please don't change a thing.
OMG! Food is crazy good! Parking is horrible. That was our only complaint. Once you get past the busy and rather crowded entrance/host-hostess station, service is friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The aromatic presence of open-grill cooking envelopes the restaurant and the food delivers on that promise. Definitely make reservations. Dress comfortably.
Wow! What a great experience!!! The Santa Maria Style BBQ dinner was excellent! Cooked perfectly and very satisfying! But the thing that really made this place special is the staff! Bridget our server was amazing! Attentive, friendly and happy to make our stay great. Alex our back server was equally wonderful, and to top it all off… Jeff, the manager was absolutely second to none. I called first, and because of his super friendly phone etiquette… we decided to go there. Then when we were there, Jeff was everywhere! Stopping at every table, including ours! He was seating, answering the phone, checking in with his servers and even bussing tables enthusiastically. His sincerity should be emulated by any and ALL other restaurant managers! The owner of this place should be very proud to have someone like Jeff running the show for them. Can’t say how very impressed I am by him, his staff and his truly hospitable manner. Shaw’s Steakhouse ROCKS! Thanks Jeff!
Tina is the best waitress I've ever had, I was there a year ago and she remembered me immediately. Always a smile and impeccable service. 10 out of 10! I'll be back next year land you can bet she'll be the one I want! Had the 20 oz. COWBOY Cut Ribeye medium rare ( like butter) and baked potato with ceasar salad. What more can I say. See ya next year!
Shaw’s steakhouse was a recommendation from a work colleague and it was amazing. The tri-tip special was more food than I could eat, but it was delicious. Relish app was interesting and tasty. Crackers with butter and tomato salsa was also surprisingly tasty. The staff was friendly.
We loved it here..... our steaks were cooked just the way we liked them. The baked potatoes were baked right ✅️ definitely coming back.
I am so pleased to have come back. I have not been in Shaw's in about 5 years. And it did not disappoint. Staff was amazing. The restaurant is beautiful. That nice rustic feel of a steakhouse. And truly one of the most tender flavorful French dips I have had. Onion rings were fabulous. What a great place to have lunch. A true staple of the community. If you come come hungry.
Delicious food and Greta atmosphere! Loved the clam chowder and the bbq absolutely delicious.
I ordered the "Cowboy Cut" ribeye cooked medium. Was very impressed that the steak was a perfect medium. I also ordered the pork ribs. Dipped in their chipolte bbq sauce is a must. The bread pudding is am🤩zing! Our server, Teena, was supurb-prompt, professional, knowledgeable about the menu and had a comical edge that made us really like her. I still prefer Jocko's ribeye to Shaw's, but the over-all experience was heaven. I'll be back!
Casmalia hitching post has been my favorite steak house for 30 years but shaw’s is my #1B Very cool inside the restaurant since the rebuild and great food, large portions.
Wow is a mild description. This place takes BBQ to a higher level. The beans alone makes this place stand out. The meat is amazing and the sausage is to die for. Not sure if they serve anything bad..
I just want to say to all your staff at shaws, thank you so much. It was our first time having dinner there, and it was my daughters birthday . The entire staff went above and beyond to make my daughter's birthday a special night. The food was absolutely amazing, and I can't wait to go back again. You have an incredibly great group of people working there. Thank you so much again for making a great night for my family.
Shaw’s is always a good choice for a great meal! Casual dining, menu has something for everyone. Bartender lacks knowledge, but they do ask if they don’t know what drink is your asking for.
Great place. They served up some huge portions. The special that night was Tri Tip and linguica. It was delicious. The Chipotle BBQ sauce that it came with was super tasty. We dipped everything in the sauce. Fantail shrimp was hot and crispy. No room for dessert. We walked out of there stuffed. The staff was helpful and friendly
First time there with my family and in-laws. It was AWESOME. Delicious fillets, baked potatoes, and veggies. Wine and drinks selection superb. B-day desert was a delight! Our staff of Alyssa / Angel / Omar was fabulous. A great team of folks, very kind, talkative, cared about your service. For those with food allergies, they do a great job making sure your order is prepared safely to avoid issues to the best of their ability. A must visit for those in the central coast.
Juliana at Shaw’s Steakhouse truly made our entire dining experience unforgettable. From the moment she greeted us, her energy was warm, vibrant, and effortlessly funny…she had us laughing all night. She has that rare gift of making you feel like you’re her favorite table while still being incredibly professional + attentive. I ordered the 10oz New York with the mushroom butter special, and it was absolutely divine! perfectly cooked, rich + full of flavor. Juliana’s recommendations and enthusiasm made the meal even better. She didn’t just serve us dinner, she created an experience. If you’re dining at Shaw’s, ask for Juliana. She’s an absolute delight and the kind of server who turns a great meal into a memorable night. 10/10 service.
We just happened to stop by this lovely restaurant while visiting just one evening in Santa Maria. This restaurant is quite lovely, our server, Lillian, was just darling, and I cannot say enough about the steak. We ordered a huge 20 ounce Center Cut Ribeye to be prepared medium rare and it was most delicious. We ordered one meal to share because of its size, and that steak along with a baked potato, and cup of Beef Stew was just perfect for the two of us. We would most certainly return if ever in this area again.
Amazing food! I usually get their grilled chicken breast with a baked potato and I can never get enough. Their cocktails are just as good. The ambience is great, the music is great, the staff is great especially Gustavo Arana. He provides us with the best service every time we go without a fail. I highly recommend everyone to ask for him the next time you go! :)
One of the best Steakhouses in California! The Food is Awesome and Authentic! You can see the grill while it is being cooked!!! I was going to take pictures but I did not want to distract the cooks! The Atmosphere is great too!!! It's like once you go in you are traveling back in time!!! Excellent set up! The bar is also awesome.. but the best part is the Service.. If you get the opportunity to go! Ask for Gustavo Arana!!! Very professional! Attentive! Knowledgable! And very Friendly!! Thank You Gustavo for your awsome service and for making us want to go back again and again! Very recommended!
My wife and I occasionally return to Santa Maria to visit family since this is where I am from. The Thanksgiving holiday brought us back here this time. The turkey day feast came and went but since we were here back in red oak country, I wanted a good steak before we returned to the Bay area. On our previous trips we used to frequent the other “steak” house on north Broadway. But the last 2 visits were very disappointing as you can see from the review that I left them. It had been a while since we visited the other steak house on south Broadway, Shaw’s. My 20 oz Ribeye steak was like night and day. It was juicy, seasoned well and grilled to perfection as was my wife’s salmon. The rest of the accompanying dishes were great as well. Our server Rosie was the best. She was very knowledgeable and even gave us a short historical insight into the fire that occurred a few years ago that we knew nothing about. My wife, being an architectural buff, was wondering if the ceiling in the main room was original. That’s when Rosie chimed in. Her knowledgeable and attentive services were well appreciated. All in all, I believe that we have found our new steak house to visit when we are in town. Great service, great food and great atmosphere. Thank you so much.
We're from St. Louis and were road-tripping to Pismo Beach when we made a special detour just to experience Santa Maria-style BBQ—something we can't get back home, especially the tri-tip with pinquito beans. After a bit of research, we chose Shaw’s Steak House, and wow… are we glad we did! From the moment we walked in, the experience was warm and welcoming. The hostess was friendly and attentive, and our waiter went above and beyond—he even helped me select the perfect wine pairing for my meal. And then came the food. Absolutely incredible. The tri-tip was tender and flavorful, and the pinquito beans? Worth the trip alone. They even brought out a relish tray to start, which was such a fun and delicious touch. I was so curious about the beans that I asked the waiter, and to my surprise, he checked with the cook and shared a general recipe with me—how generous is that? The portions were huge, the quality top-notch, and the service impeccable. Shaw’s wasn’t just a meal—it was a highlight of our vacation. Highly recommend putting this place on your itinerary if you're anywhere near the Central Coast!
Of all the Santa Maria steakhouses, id say this is tied for first place with Far Western in Orcutt. The atmosphere here is upscale and pleasant, the greeter is amazing, and the oak pit BBQ is amazing. The food is really good with a lot to choose from. Got a NY strip that was well cooked and delicious. Overall, a top notch restaurant. Probably the best in Santa Maria City limits.
Went to Shawn’s Steakhouse last night with a couple of friends, and had a very delicious dinner, and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. The service was amazing and food on point, I’d say the ambiance was fairly standard (not impressive) but good enough for a steakhouse in Santa Maria. I only took off one point (instead of 2) for the “atmosphere” because they recently remodeled the men’s bathroom and that was very nice. It smelt good, and there was plenty of room to do your thing and leave without bumping into other patrons. Overall I would definitely recommend this place for anyone. Who’s looking for a good steak place the pricing is on points with your above average steakhouse so I wouldn’t go here looking for a deal per se. Also, when they see you, they bring out the relish plate and salsa for you to enjoy, and beans (SM style) when they serve you your meal.
This is our second time here since they re-opened. We didn’t review the first time, because well, they had just re-opened and we thought maybe they had to adjust to the Covid safety measures and getting back into the swing of things. My husband ordered what used to be his favorite drink here, the Cadillac Margarita, and it was not as tasty as when Sofia and Vicky worked here before the place burned down. It did not even look as good as it used to. He ordered the baby back ribs and again he thought something what lacking. I had the filet and it was cooked exactly as I like, medium rare and it tasted good. The rest of the food was fine and like we remember. Service was good; they were quite attentive and friendly. Overall it was good to be back and able to eat here. Perhaps there are new people that will get better with time and just weren’t familiar with how it used to be. We’ll come back, not going to give up that easily.
Had the Filet Mignon and the Rib Eye...both were amazing, perfectly cooked....
One of the best old fashioned steakhouses around. As you might know Santa Maria is the home of Tri Tip BBQ, and this place cook the BBQ and Steaks in front of you on real wood fire. The salad options are thousand island or ranch. I chose Thousand Island like good ol days and it was delicious.
Food was amazing. One of the hostesses was horrible, rude, flippant and just overall not a nice person. The other two were amazing, apologetic and super sweet. Not sure if she just had a bad night or that was her normal bullyish demewnor, but hope that management really pays better attention to front of house. Unfortunately for such amazing food, atmosphere she was the worst memory of the experience. I would hate for anyone else to have that kind of experience.
As this is a popular spot to celebrate, there are at times large parties. As such, if your order comes after a large group, be prepared to wait. We've been visiting Shaw's for over 10 years and the food and service has remained consistently EXCELLENT!
This is a first-class old-school chophouse with excellent food and outstanding service. The ambiance here is very cool and all the meats and fish are cooked on a wood fire grill. I ordered the tri tip—quality meat that was grilled just as I ordered. The sides included crispy fries, tasty cheese bread and an amazing bowl of beans. The chicken and vegetable soup entree was super tasty—chunks of chicken stewed with fresh vegetables. My waiter, Angel, was a pro. Can’t wait to return.
On our 5-day central coast wine trip we did one night in Santa Maria. There's a few recommended places for Santa Maria BBQ but we opted for convenience being across from our hotel. Everything was superb but we made the mistake of getting salmon on their specials menu. They should stick to barbecue. I make better salmon on my grill at home. Great bar though to wait at until table was ready and soups salads were decent sized. Overall would recommend this place and would happily go back for another round.
Shaw's was great! Their Tomato Basil Soup was excellent. It tasted like a mix of tomato and chili, very tasteful. Their baked beans were also very good. Had a meaty taste to them. Let's get to the steak. The steak was great, my only complaint is that it tasted a bit smokey, and that took a bit away from enjoying the steak to its fullest. The service was great, the atmosphere was excellent, and I would definitely go back.
Nicest place in area. Delicious side soups. Fantastic food. Got the special of tritip and linguica. Tri tip was delicious gave me tons of food to get full. Linguica wasn't worth the extra 10$ kinda boring. If I was in the area and wanted meat I'd definitely come back but its nothing super crazy.
If you are looking for original Santa Maria style barbecue this is your place. For many that have never had sweet breads, they are delicious. Must try for appetizer order them crispy! Beautiful restaurant with great atmosphere for family dining.
The sirloin was really great! I really enjoyed it! The ribeye wasn’t cooked evenly, but it was still good. A little salty for my taste (for both steaks), but overall, the flavors were nice. I did expect a bit more from the onion rings, especially from a good steakhouse like this. The steaks were solid, especially the sirloin. The waiter was nice, but the place was super busy, so the food took a while to come out. I’d also definitely recommend making a reservation since it’s a popular spot. If you just walk in then you would have to wait. It’s a nice place for a date or a special night out.
I was disappointed. Only served a mushy pickle, not a relish tray. The tri-tip was a bit dry and overcooked for my taste. They were out of potato salad, so the waitress suggested French fries as a substitute. But then came back and told me that the manager said there would be an upcharge for the substitution.
We stayed at the Santa Maria Inn so the proximity was great since we could walk there. It was a busy night with large parties but the waiter warned us while we ordered drinks that we may have to wait a bit for our order. Watching them fire the meat was fun. Overall though I didn’t think much of it for the price but I will say the leftovers tasted better than when we eating at the restaurant. A good spot to go for the history and to get your fork “wet” for the many other restaurants promoting tri-tip!
Tried this after reading reviews rating it up with other locally famous steak houses... Rather disappointed. my 10 oz NY steak was cooked OK maybe closer to 'medium' than 'medium rare', but way too salty.... my wife's 'medium rare' filet came blood rare, and when sent back it returned dried out. The sides were mediocre, too. Salad was strictly 'bag salad'
Last night I had guest I was sharing dinner with, spent over $200.00, tip the waiter $22.00, like the wine I had and ask if I could buy a bottle. Spent $30.00 for the wine the waiter put the wine in a bag which I didn’t look at until I got home. When I got home i looked at the wine and it had been opened. I called the next morning talked to someone who called himself the manager and said I wanted a fresh bottle of wine. He told me he would not give me a new bottle and accused me drinking a glass of this wine when I got home. I did not. I will throw out this bottle wine and will never go to this restaurant again. Plan on reporting this restaurant to the better business bureau. I’ll throw out this wine.
Shaws was a great restaurant, but it is not as good as it used to be. After the fire and rebuild Shaws is not near as good. Very expensive and the service is sub par. Makes me sad.
Called today, 12/27/25, right when they opened at 4:00 pm to order takeout for pick-up of 5:30. Order was for two bar platters and a tri-tip meal. Came in and waited and waited. Food didn't come out until 6:02. No explanation why an order placed well ahead of time was over 30 minutes late. When we got home just several minutes away, most of the food was cold. They also forgot to pack a pinquito beans with the tri-tip the meals. Will not order take-out here again.
Went to Shaws at 1:00 today. Worst service any of us have ever had (and we're seniors). Sat for 25 min and was never acknowledged by a waiter. The hostess tried to help out by taking our drink order. We had to ask another waitress to help us. Finally our waitress showed up. After eating (one of had salmon dinner, and the others had burgers), it took her half an hour to bring our check-and this was after asking the hostess to please get it. If it hadn't been for the sweet hostess. we would have walked out . The food was just okay. Not worth killing an afternoon over!
We went to Shaw's to have a great steak cooked on red oak. My husband had the sirloin, which was cooked as requested but it was very salty and tough. I had the 8 filet mignon. I requested medium rare. It was still mooing when I sliced it open. I hailed the waitress who took it back to be cooked more. The problem with the recook is once it was sliced, the juices were released and the recook resulted in a dry tough. sad looking and unappetizing overpriced piece of beef. When the cook makes such a mistake, a new filet needs to be cooked. Not a repeatable experience.
If I could give this no stars I would! My family and I went there tonight and the service was horrible! Two servers, the girls were so rude and not once asked us if they could get us anything. Super rude and it wasn’t even busy. We had called earlier in the day to make a reservation but even that sounded like it was a problem. Every time one of us asked for something it seemed like a problem! Then our food order took forever! Just to receive my steak underdone, like bloody still. The worst dinning experience ever!
Man, that tri-tip is as tough as a leather shoe. I had it medium rare and it was tougher than chewing on a wool sweater.
Absolutely the worst baby back ribs I've ever had. Bartender was awesome. Staff was nice. Atmosphere was great. Ribs should have been saved for dog treats. My jaw is sore from working my chewing muscles. My buddy had the sirloin. It was marginal at best. Stop in for a drink and good service, but don't order the meat. Got a hundred bucks worth of dry meat. I think Stevie Wonder could cook better meat.
On July 8th @ 11:30 I went with the Women's Santa Maria High 1963 graduate class. We have a get- together once a month at different restaurants to celebrate the birthday month of women in our group of 24+. The birthday girls pick the restaurant where they wanted to celebrate & eat. This month was Shaw's, your restaurant. The majority of us were very, very disappointed in the service. We were put in a large room. While we were seated it took over 20-30 minutes to see a waitress. When she finally came she took our orders. Took another 20 + minutes to serve our drinks & water (never came back to refill). It also took at least 30 minutes to get our food. After the food was served the waitress never came back to refill our drinks. One of the ladies got up to check the other part of the restaurant to see if you were busy. You were not, just a few couples having lunch. When we were done, no waitress came to give us our bill. One of the ladies had to let them know we were done. The service was very, very disappointing.
Maybe it’s not the usual thing but we had a NY and a filet mignon Probably didn’t clean the grill but everything thing smelled and tasted like pork. Even the garlic bread was drowning in lard. Packed all in to go boxes and handed them to unsuspecting homeless
Us ladies went to lunch for my Mom’s birthday the waitress took our order and brought our drinks three of us ordered the French dip sandwich the meat tasted old, potato salad was $7.50 for a small dish, and the French fries were just ok, so we were waiting and waiting for someone to clear our dishes so we can cut the cake when I finally seen who I thought was the busboy I tried to flag him over and said “busboy” he yelled over I’m not the busboy and don’t ever call me that. Ok, my mistake was just trying to get someone to come and clear the dishes. Our waitress was only around in the beginning and the end. So next time I’m going to spend $55 on lunch for me and my Mom it will be a better choice place
Environment inside is cute but thats it . The only good thing here was the beer from the draft and the salad that came from a bag. The server the first one didnt even know what a stout was ....then our other server took over after 10 mins of waiting we finally got our drinks. We tell our 2nd server our food we want and a appetizer. As we are telling her our order she told us a good amount of items were out of stock. One was a baked potato. You literally have that as a major side and your out. I tell her what I wanted. 30 mins pass and we get our salad and no appetizer. 30 mins more pass and we finally get our food and had to cancel our appetizer. I cut into my 50 dollar steak and its still mooing in the hills of California. It was like they put the cow back on the plate and said here you go. The potato salad is definitely not one to bring to the BBQ. It was flavorless , potatoes were under cook and it had this flavor of pure depression as it hit your tongue. The bread was as dry as the Egyptian dessert and the fries that weren't fresh were over cooked as well. We all know that was frozen. The waiter took forever to even come our way about 30 mins when our food to arrive and she was terrible. The beer and the pre-made salad was the only thing good here and the prepackaged crackers. Whatever that wanna be salsa aka a whole tomato in a bath was ridiculous. Wouldn't go here unless you are planning to get drunk then maybe just maybe the food is good just maybe.
I went into Shaw’s already knowing it wasn’t my favorite place, but I was attending a birthday dinner and the birthday girl chooses it every year. Unfortunately, this visit managed to be even worse than last year. When we first ordered, we specifically asked the server if the filet and scampi was good. He told us it was amazing, and four people at our corner of the table heard this conversation. So how did it go from him recommending the filet and scampi to us somehow being served and charged for a ribeye instead? It made absolutely no sense. I ordered the filet and scampi dish for about $52 and a cheeseburger for around $18. For context, the steak I had last year was plain and flavorless, so I figured a burger was a safer bet, and honestly the burger was good. Everything else, however, was a complete mess. First, my friend’s meal came out wrong. It had sausage and other meats he didn’t order, clearly someone else’s dish. The server realized the mistake, took it back, and brought out the correct plate, except it was missing the scampi entirely. When he pointed it out, the server told him he would have to pay for the scampi to be added. This made no sense because the filet and scampi dish is supposed to already come with scampi. Why should the server pay for the restaurant’s mistake? We declined at first because it felt off, but after some back and forth we agreed to have it added since it was part of the dish we originally ordered. When the bill came, it totaled $103, which made no sense. I asked for an itemized bill and suddenly everything became clear. We were charged $3.95 per shrimp, totaling about $25 extra on top of the $52 meal. The server said he told us we would have to pay for it, except he told us he would have to pay for it, which is why we were confused in the first place. We never agreed to pay extra for something that was supposed to come with the dish. To make things worse, after looking closer, I realized he didn’t even charge us for the filet we ordered. Instead, he charged us for an 8 oz ribeye, which was never communicated to us. So not only did he forget the scampi, but he also served and charged us for the wrong steak even after telling us the filet and scampi was “amazing.” I refused the idea of the server paying for any mistake because that should never be put on a customer. The way this situation was handled felt manipulative and completely unprofessional. This was not a simple oversight. It came across as dishonest. And to top it all off, even leaving a standard 20 percent tip made me feel like a fool because I had already paid extra for the server’s mistake. No customer should walk away feeling taken advantage of. I will be calling management, not for a refund, but because accountability is necessary. We will not be hosting any more celebrations at Shaw’s. For anyone who plans to dine here, please check your bills carefully and always ask for an itemized bill.
Placed a pickup order with the restaurant, only to find all the ways to the restaurant blocked by a parade and people viewing it. The parade would not be over for an hour or so, by which time our food would be cold. We called and explained this to the Manager. The Manager insisted we could pick up our food if we drove to the restaurant by a certain road, but we had already tried that way and the road was blocked. We requested a refund, but the manager kept insisting we could drive there, and "What am I supposed to do with the food?" I understand that the parade blocking the restaurant is not its fault, but the manager refusing to acknowledge the issue and speaking to us as if we were at fault is unacceptable to me. Perhaps in the future the restaurant should not accept to go orders when it is very likely that access to the restaurant will be compromised.
I just had the worst dining experience. I ordered my Filet RARE. Upon receiving my meal and cutting into the steak it was NOT RARE but Med Rare. My baked potato was hard and cold. It was so cold that not even the whipped butter would melt on it. I then proceeded to eat it as I didn’t want to complain and have to wait longer. Both the steak and potato were extremely salty. Another member of our party did not get his steak the way he ordered it either. His was undercooked. Needless to say I will NEVER eat there again. This is just another reason why I prefer and recommend The Swiss all day everyday.
We were served the worst French dip ever. Always have been the best. Low quality meat and roll was really bad. Don’t know why they’re doing this. Higher prices lower quality.
I will never go back… the service was poor, long wait times for everything… and under cooked food. The meat tastes like it’s road kill. The salsa was literally a smushed tomato with onions. The best part was a salad that came from a bag. The bread was stale and over cooked. They didn’t have a lot of items off the menu. How do you have no baked potatoes but have undercooked potato salad and bland taste, even salt and pepper couldn’t fixed it. Every dinner comes with beans but all they serve you is one small serving for the table… I ordered ice tea but it look like a see through dirty dishwasher cup…I had to ask them to make new tea, twice… I ordered extra fries and it was over $7 for a small amount of fries.. I should have asked the price but Didn’t.. my bad, who thought frozen fries would cost that much for a hand full… ridicules…
