Opiniones de La Scala Santa Monica
Food never fails. They are very famous for their salads. Food is always on point. The new location is very nice. The kitchen looks bigger. Service was nice. They are momentarily not officially open. I believe they did a test run today. Which btw, food was great for a test run. The address on Google is wrong btw, it's actually 3001 Wilshire Blvd Santa Monica, California 90403 I suggest that once it officually opens you give everything on the menu a try (not in one visit though).
Delicious pasta and great service. The salads looked really good too. Very pleasant waitress and patient with my elderly aunt and uncle. Apparently they have been going there for over 30 years!

Great service, kind staff, the food is always consistently delicious. The décor is traditional. It's a classic go to restaurant for locals and celebrities alike. Try the chopped salad or the spaghetti bolognase.
Literally the best salad in Los Angeles. Period
The Ravioli is to die for, butternut squash is superb. What i really like about this spot is the atmosphere! The waiters are great and there is just something about the setting that makes this a fantastic spot to have long conversations with friends, over good food
This is hands down my favorite Italian restaurant in LA, and I am italian so that says a lot. I love everything about this place, the classy ambience, the service, but most importantly the food. I’ve never eaten anything here that I didn’t absolutely love. My 2 go-to dishes are the turkey chopped salad, and the spaghetti bolognese. No trip to LA is complete without at least 2 trips to La Scala. 😍🇮🇹❤️
La Scala's Original Chopped Salad (with turkey added) is, honestly, the best salad I've ever ordered. It's pricey but one order feeds two people. Trust me... It's phenomenal.

Food was wonderful service was even better but don't go with a lot of people. We went last night, there were 7 of us our bill was around $200 and our card was declined. After being on the phone for 30 minutes with our credit card company who did not receive anything, it was discovered that their machine wouldn't accept a $200 charge, really embarrassing for us. They finally split the bill in half and it went through. Again excellent but don't try to pay a large bill as it won't be accepted. I asked if other cards were going through, I was told yes, ours was the only one, as we were leaving the manager said it was their machine and we weren't the only one. To add insult to injury we got our ticket validated and the parking attendant said we were over the time limit and wanted $9.80 more. Not that he had any way of knowing had we not had the aggravation, we would have been well under the time limit. One of our guests got out of the car and got the fee reduced but still...at that point we just wanted to get home, I guess we could have gone back and gotten it fixed. Yes the Cobb Salad was scrumptious!
Hands down, the best bolognese in LA. Service is ok, which is the only reason I didnt give 5 stars. The caesar salad is better at the Beverly Hills location. But the prices are cheaper at this one. But seriously, best bolognese ever.

Really had to change my review of 5 stars to this. I’ve gone to this la Scala for last 8 years. I’ve ordered a take out almost every week. No matter how long I would have to wait for Sandy to tell me “20 minutes..” The chopped chicken salad was our favorite and it felt really authentic. Last Friday 5/10/18 we came over and decided to dine in. My husband was parking so I asked to be seated while he was parking. The waiter told me that they had a rule of not seating until the whole party was there.. I was waiting for one person.. we sat down indoors and ordered wine and, of course, chopped chicken salad. There were a few flies that flies around and we tried to shoo those away as much as we could. Our wines came and we started sipping, then I noticed a dead fly in my husbands glass, we waived the waiter and he replaced the glass immediately and apologized. Then again another fly ventured into our bread and butter. We called the waiter, which at this stage said it was a weird scenario, and that he never seen something like this before. The place was either full of flies or, as the waiter might have suggested.. we attracted them? Finally the food is in and I am grossed out. We ate carefully. Paid full check and left. Disappointing.

The food is classic La Scala, but prices are crazy here. The same bolognese that was $15 at the sit down restaurant when it was open on San Vicente Blvd in Brentwood is now $21 from a take out only place. The overhead has to be much lower at a takeout only restaurant yet the plate of spaghetti is $6 more. $21 for spaghetti 🤔.... and they charge $2.50 for a can of soda. That is crazy to me. They will need to lower their prices for me to go back.
Food was terrible, I don't even know why I'm giving it 2 stars. I seldom give negative reviews publicly but this was a bad experience. Ordered three things: two pastas and a caesar. The caesar, literally, had no parmesan cheese, no one speck. Some lousy little store-bought croutons, romaine lettuce, and subpar, bland dressing. Bolognese was a C+, husband has never met a bolognese he didn't like, until now. Mushroom linguine (i forget what it's called on the menu, something like pasta verde) was a C+ at best, white mushrooms were barely cooked, had no flavor, as if they had been steamed, sauce was a mediocre red. What a waste of carbs. Much better places to order from
This restaurant forces drivers to break Uber policy — seriously? This place refuses to hand over the food until the courier presses “Start Delivery” in the Uber Eats app — before even receiving the order. That’s a clear violation of how the platform is supposed to work. Because of this: – Delivery time starts before the food is actually picked up – Drivers get blamed for delays they didn’t cause – Customers receive cold or late food – And the restaurant pretends everything is normal This isn’t how delivery should work. Drivers follow platform rules and aren’t required to confirm delivery early just to satisfy a restaurant’s internal routine. If this continues, no one should be surprised if this business ends up under formal review. Practices like this don’t stay hidden forever.

Ugh. We went for an early dinner to the Santa Monica location. Even though we said we were eating in the restaurant, the food was served in opaque plastic boxes. My Bolognese not very appetizing in the plastic box, greyish sauce smothering the pasta. Also noticed the pasta at the bottom had some red sauce mixed in under the grey Bolognese. Not sure about that. They forgot the grilled chicken for my husbands' penne, and it arrived as he took his last few bites. Wine is on the menu, but cannot be consumed on the premises... This is strictly a takeout place, so if you're looking to eat in an Italian restaurant, go elsewhere.
We fell on this place after our original choice was closed for lunch. We ordered spaghetti with meat sauce, meat sandwich, and chopped salad. The pasta looked like someone actually threw up on it, that is how unappetizing it looked. The salad was literally chopped lettuce with a few garbanzo beans, and the meat sandwich, we asked for no mushrooms, the sandwich came loaded with mushrooms, to cover up the chewy, low quality meat inside. The help was lovely. The cost of the above meal was just shy of $70- which included tip and two soft drinks. Unbelievably disappointing lunch, overpriced, we left hungry. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY at this place. This is primarily a take out place, food was served in paper containers. This is NOT anywhere near the caliber of food that they serve at the LA SCALA in Beverly Hills. Probably one of the worst lunches I have ever had.
Horrible experience. We ordered a smoked salmon dish as a starter. Dish came after a long while so we expected to get something good. They brought us lux that looks like lux from the supermarket with cut onion on it and a lemon. The lux itself included a lot of brown parts of the fish. Overall didnt look good. But we gave it a try and tasted. It tasted very strong in a bad way and left us a very bad after taste. We called the waiter and said we are unhappy with the dish and we would like to know if we could get something else. They argued with us and said a lot of people dont like many dishes and they cant help us. we ended up leaving very unhappy. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Worst service experience.
We both ordered sailfish last night. It was inedible, drenched in salt. I'm normally ok with salty food but this was beyond super salty. The waiter then the manager put up a big discussion telling us they could only approve to take one of the plates back despite both of us only had a bite. Again totally inedible food and then management did not apologize but told us it was notmal. Their attitude was despicable Worst restaurant experience I've had in 50 years. Avoid avoid avoid.
This is the second and last time I’m ever going to La Scala. The soup was pure salt and I threw it away. The seafood pasta looked bad, hardly had any seafood on it, and was loaded with heavy heavy thick chewy sauce. What a complete waste of money. I just hope I don’t get sick from this food.
Wednesday May 14 , 2025 We picked up takeout. The worst chopped salad! The dressing was nothing but oil. No flavor. No seasoning. The salami was like bologna. So disappointing. After a few bites didn’t bother eating it! What a waste!
No recent positive reviews. we too had a bad experience ordering two salads. Very underwhelming, below average for an overpriced small salad for four. Flavorless. They could do better but don't seem to care. Josh did not offer any positive resolution when i called from home after picking salads up; I guess they are used to hearing complaints.
