What a great treat! Stopped by here with the family a few weeks back and had a great dining experience. So we decided to pop in again, and they didn't disappoint. The atmosphere is welcoming, they have a hibachi grill "Ting Ting Flip" room for parties, a sushi bar, and a nice dining area. It's all a great use of space for a restaurant that isn't necessarily huge, but also does not feel cramped. There's mild background music playing, so you never feel awkward between chats. And the lighting is just right, without being too dim or annoyingly bright. I started with Crab Rangoons and a California Roll. The rangoons were crispy and delicious. The California roll was fresh and hit the spot. But the Basil Chicken really blew me away tonight. It came with a mushroom broth soup which was yummy and a simple Japanese salad with a delicious sesame dressing ~ perfect for that umami craving. The main course Basil Chicken was packed with vegetables, perfectly cooked chicken, and although it was mild, had a nice kick to it. On display mushrooms, red and green peppers, onion, eggplant, broccoli, and asparagus. Really a full serving of all the good vegetables you need! The basil was not overpowering, and complimented the rest of the dish with that basil pop of flavor. Definitely will come back to order this one again!

As sushi addicts, my husband and I usually eat here twice even three times a week. Their lunch prices are very fair, and the fish to rice ratio of their roll is unbelievable. The fish is always great quality. Never had any issues. As always, we will be back!

Sashimi is fresh. Spicy tuna roll is great. Lunch specials all have price lower than competing restaurants, reasonable portion, good quality. Meal preparation is super fast. We don't like beef scallion roll appetizer. Will come back and try other entrees next time. Update 7-22-2023: 2nd lunch visit. Ordered Thai crab cake, sushi sashimi lunch, lunch rolls with 3 choices, American dream roll. Happy with the taste, service, vibe, price. Update 10-5-2024: great dinner. Everything remains high quality and delicious. Very satisfied with sashimi, American dream roll, tiger roll, Thai seafood.

We had a good night at Sake Bon. The food was very good, we ordered shrimp pad thai, thai shrimp fried, and crab rangoon. These were probably the best crab rangoons I've had in a while. service was fast, and the place was very clean. We were checked on and got water refills often. We would be happy to come back.

This is THE place in Rotterdam for sushi! I’ve gone to a few other restaurants for sushi in the area, but this by far takes title of the best. Service is always fast and top notch. For a regular dine in experience for 3, probably there for about 40 minutes. I have only ever done regular dining here, so I cannot comment on the hibachi. Ordered an appetizer and 3 sushi rolls for about $25 per person. Prices are going rate compared to other local places. Not competitively low, but much worth it. Overall recommend coming to this place for sushi. I’ve only ever ordered that here, but why both with anything else. Menu is easy to read and understand so no mistake on what exactly you’re getting. Very appropriate sizing for the prices.

I got the Stir-Fried Pad Thai with chicken. It was really good but it had ground peanut throughout it and I don’t like no nuts. But it was pretty good. I wanted to try something different.

Our office gets take-out from Sake Bon occasionally and I decided to try the Crispy Duck Salad - so good! Fresh greens, peppers, red onion, cashews and pieces of crispy duck with a sweet dressing. Yum! Came with a side salad and miso soup. Highly recommend.

i’ve eaten in once and had a good experience. order take out from here regularly. the lunch 3 rolls for $14 is my go to. they have the freshest ingredients and the food is always prepared as requested. was with someone that didn’t want vegetables with their hibachi and the person that took the order on the phone offered extra rice instead which i thought was really good customer service because a lot of places don’t sub anything when we make that request. highly recommend.
