Opiniones de Tara Kitchen Schenectady
We had a wonderful meal at Tara kitchen! The lamb was so tender it literally broke apart with a fork. The sauce was so flavorful and delicious. And not only was the food delicious, the atmosphere was just so cozy and comfortable. The host, Montesim, was very kind and explained everything to us. And we loved the music. I think it might have been Nora Jones.
Absolutely phenomenal meal. From the moment we walked in, we could see (and smell!) the sizzling pans on the stovetop right by the bar — instantly intrigued and excited to learn more about the ingredients. We ordered the grilled fish, a vegetarian dish with chickpeas, eggplant and prunes, and a lamb entrée — every single dish was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The flavors were rich, layered, and beautifully authentic. The chef (possibly the owner) was cooking right there in front, which made the experience feel even more special and personal. It’s a small but mighty team — bartender, waiter, and chef — and you can feel the care in every detail.
Food is always great. The staff is friendly, especially Anissa’s daughters. They are just lovely kids. Can’t think of a better place for a birthday dinner.
i lovee Tara Kitchen! they have amazing vegetarian/vegan options and the flavors are always on point! i have gone in-person which is really nice but i usually just order delivery and the order is always correct, great portions and prices. tonight i got the vegetable korma and maqooda, great as always!
Was very impressed with the food. I don't know much about Moroccan food but based on eating here I love it. The food was delicious!
Wow, just wow. I’ve been lucky enough to spend some time in North Africa and the Middle East and to fall in love with the cuisine, and if you want some great Moroccan food, look no further. The garden has lovely seating options, the wait staff was great, and most importantly the food was fire. A must visit in my book.
Do not miss a chance to come here and get a fantastic dinner!! The food is a step above most local restaurants and moderately priced. Everything is wonderfully spiced and the food comes out piping hot. We had the 3 sauce appetizer,, 2 chicken dishes and a spicy vegetarian dish. We ate it all because it was so good. We will definitely be back:)
I came across this hidden gem on my way to Canada. A cozy Moroccan cuisine with big flavor. The eggplant appetizer dip and chicken vegetable are absolutely delicious. The vegetable is cooked to perfection, fresh, sweet and subtly tangy. Their pita is thicker than store bought pita, which gave a dense texture. —— Came to this place second time a year later and the food is delicious as expected.
I was in Schenectady for work for the week and some locals told us we had to check out Tara kitchen and I'm so glad we took the chance! It is very unassuming from the outside but the food is out of this world delicious! I will definitely pick my hotel to be close to here when I come back for work!
We went on a Thursday night during prime dinner hours. There was a 20 min wait but with no reservations that was ok with us. Food was amazing and the service was great!! Well worth the wait! We were kindly greeting with water, their house green tea and menus by our server. We decided to get signature drinks - flying fig martini and the Moroccan sunrise - both very well made and tasty. We got the Moroccan ‘cigars’ for an appetizer which were very good and the sauce on it made it even better. For the entrees we selected the lamb meatballs w/ spaghetti in a special house made sauce which was very good and meat balls were big! And we got the Chicken Tagine with tomato jam, Harissa, almonds and figs - this dish was outstanding!! Both came with a side of seasoned rice and warm pita bread. We also order the charred broccoli with garlic and that was perfectly charred and very yummy. The portions were good sized we ended up wrapping the rest of our meals and ordered desserts to go. We got the cheesecake- topped with a berry sauce and crushed pistachios and baclava- delish! Definitely will go back!!
Came here on a Wednesday before a show at proctors. We arrived at 5:10 and were seated promptly. By 5:30 the entire restaurant was full! Nonetheless our food came out promptly and was quite delicious. I had the eggplant tagine and it was perfectly spiced, savory, flavorful and sweet. I could have eaten the whole thing but wanted to save room for the baklava which i highly recommend as well! Despite the whole restaurant being full our server was prompt and attentive. I appreciate that they were aware we needed to be on time to the show. We sat near the door so i could see that even as busy as it was the maximum wait time for anyone who didn't sit at the bar instead of getting a table was about 15 minutes. Id give more than 5 stars if i could because its not easy to have such amazing food and amazing service despite being packed!
There is nothing negative to say about this restaurant. I came from out of town, was greeted with a warm ambiance and amazing smells in a family run setting. I was given thorough information about each dish I inquired about. The food itself was perfectly cooked and well seasoned and I was provided with generous portions of the wine, lamb meatballs, and spicy fig tagine I ordered. The restaurant owner was training a new chef in the kitchen. She was patient, thorough, and consistent which I am certain translates to quality and consistency of each prepared dish. The food heightened my overall experience of Schenectady and I encourage those who are able to try it to do so.
So glad I stopped in. From out of town, i was wandering Schenectady admiring the old houses. I was looking for a unique restaurant in a fun location. My first time having Moroccan good and I loved it. All of the servers and staff were super friendly. The food was delicious. I had a spicy dip appetizer and there lamb stew with spinach and onions. So good.
The food and service at Tara Kitchen is second to none. You'll discover incredible flavors and unique dishes that never disappoint. I love ordering a variety of their appetizers and turning that into my meal. It's always the first place I think of when out of towners ask for recommendations.
Amazing food and hospitality. At their (great) recommendation, I ordered lamb with apricots and prunes. It was a perfect blend of bold flavors, sweetness, and a hint of spicy. Do not miss the warm baklavah. The mint and honey tea they offered was also a nice touch when I sat down. Very cozy space and a nice feel. There people there were all very friendly. Overall, a great experience!
This little Moroccan restaurant was delightful. Cozy and so fragrant, I could hardly wait for my meal to arrive. The Chicken Tagine with tomato jam, spicy harisa, almonds, fig, olives, onions, and raisins was fantastic. It came with pita, rice and green tea. The waitstaff are warm and attentive and the bill only came to $40 for two of us. I highly recommend this lavender little gem.
Delicious food! This is one of my favorite places to eat in the capital district. The food is amazing and its very easy to eat there if you or someone you know have allergies or is vegan as Moroccan food doesn't use much dairy and the staff is very knowledgeable about their ingredients. This is a favorite of my children as well, who can be fussy eaters but this place is always a hit. You can also puchase the spice blend and sauces/pastes at local stores as well as amazon.
Food was on point! This place was PACKED like I've never seen a Schenectady restaurant packed.. I felt like I was in some cool new NYC restaurant, packed in like sardines. But despite the crowd the food and service was top notch. I'd never had Moroccan food before this visit to Tara Kitchen and it reminded me of Indian/Middle Eastern flavors for any other newbs out there. I'll definitely be back!
