We ate here for dinner our first night in AZ 10/22. This restaurant is located inside of the JW Marriott Camelback Inn. We didn’t make a reservation and they were able to accommodate us (table for 3) with no issues. We sat outside and the view of Camelback Mountain is just beautiful. The food was delicious too! So flavorful and cooked perfectly. I can’t wait to go back and eat here next time I visit Scottsdale. Oh yeah we were celebrating my friend’s 40th and I told my waiter that off to the side and he brought us a delicious slice of cake with a candle :)
Very good quality food, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Happy hour has sliders that I highly recommend. The chicken quesadilla was great too from regular menu! The service was nice and staff are friendly.
We had a great lunch at Rita’s. Location is obviously perfect if you’re staying onsite. Prices are a bit high for the portions but the flavors were there and the setting is nice. Our server was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed for our meal.
Rita’s was a great experience! I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and we were not disappointed! They sat us right in front of the water fountain where the live music was, and it was beautiful. The music wasn’t overpowering at all and the musician was so good! We shared the chips and guac trio and both got the waygu burger and agreed it’s one of the best burgers we’ve ever had. The cheesecake was also incredible. Food was great, service was great, and the atmosphere was perfect! We definitely plan to come back.
Had a beautiful dinner last night and was wowed by the whole experience. The food was truly exquisite and the staff was beyond friendly. It's more than dinner, it's an experience. Make the reservation and enjoy the great atmosphere, setting and beautiful scenery. Compliments to all the great Chefs. (Shout out to Chef Jose).
Had several meals here during our stay. Dinner was very good, but breakfast was exceptional. For dinner we ordered enchiladas, and two burrito bowls. Everything is given an interesting and unique spin at this restaurant. The enchiladas were a non-traditional spin, with no tortillas that I could find. Instead, it was basically cheesy chicken enchilada filling with shredded coleslaw and herbs on top. Very unusual but quite good. Perfect heat levels as well. The burrito bowls were also given a shredded coleslaw and herb topping, and was a very fresh and herbal spin on the dish. We enjoyed it a lot. Breakfast was the best meal though. We ordered two huevos rancheros and they were superb. I stuffed myself eating it all because I couldn’t stand it going to waste. The dish was given a unique spin with two freshly cooked nachos in the mix. My wife chose the gluten free pancakes with blueberry lemon compote, and while she isn’t a huge fan of gluten free, she found it tasty. Excellent service both visits. Would recommend.
Suck a beautiful resort first off. Patio area is nice as well. Tuna crudo is amazing yellowtail tuna, salsa velle, charred avocado & miso soy dressing
Had a great business meal. It is within the JW Marriott. There is free event parking outside, and you do not have to valet. Service was excellent, and everyone enjoyed their food. Enough options to come back to try new things if you are staying at the hotel.
I absolutely love this place! We come for my sisters birthday brunch every year. The food is amazing and the cooked to order omelette are superb. Julian is amazing and as been here for the last 20 years. Love the crab legs and shrimp and the cocktail sauce you can make extra spicy with the horseradish. They have bottomless mimosas and a desert room. Bad choices were made.
We had a great experience at Rita’s! The outdoor scenery was beautiful and we loved the atmosphere. Everything that we ordered was delicious and full of favour. The steak burrito bowl was definitely our favourite! It had lots of different fresh ingredients and the steak was perfectly cooked. We highly recommend that you visit Rita’s!
We are staying at the J.W. Marriott and came back for happy hour at Rita's. So much for going out to dinner! The happy hour has amazing food and drinks, plus amazing service atmosphere. We were promptly greeted by a nice young lady and she asked if we were there for happy hour. We chose our seat in the bar, and water was brought almost immediately. Our server, David, was absolutely incredible. He was working the entire bar, along with the patio. We were never in need of anything, and a simple eye contact would prompt him over to see what we needed. When our food was brought, Joaquin had a smile on his face, and was absolutely awesome also. We watched as they had some difficult customers, and they were all handled with poise and courtesy. We were about to leave when the live music started just after happy hour, so we stayed and listened. It was well worth the stay, as the musician was great. Overall, a wonderful experience, and we will return.
Nice and cozy hotel with nice service and decorations. Friendly staff with a passion for customer service. Food was pleasant but they had limited choices. I wish they had photos for the dishes they have.
Chicken enchilada dinner was yummy. Waitstaff was nice and live entertainment rounded off a lovely ambiance. My friends enjoyed their burrito bowl entrees, too
Perfect food every time. It's absolutely perfect. Excellent service. Ambiance and scenery second to none.
We were a large group and had a reservation set for 45 minutes later, but were seated right away when we checked in earlier. The outdoor seating was very nice with beautiful ambience and live music. The food and the service was remarkable. Perfect for date night dinners too.
Very chill vibe. Lots of casual seating inside and out as well as a bar with plenty of seats for eating. Excellent, friendly and accommodating service. Great food and delicious mocktails. I got the Cactus Water, super tangy and refreshing.
If staying at the JW Marriott Camelback Resort, you’ll definitely want to stop in at Rita’s Cantina at some point for a meal. We had breakfast and we’re thoroughly impressed with the many options - from French toast and pancakes to made to order omelettes, hash browns, and fresh fruit!
WOW, can’t say enough positive things about my experience at Rita’s. This was my first time with the family staying at the JW Marriott and it was a 6 star experience. Rita’s was our go to for dinner and breakfast/brunch. Food and service was incredible. Live music every night and had all of the March Madness games on so I could take a glance at the latest scores when the family wasn’t looking ;) we will be back!
Wow, wow, WOW! What a great spot for breakfast! I’m sure the other food is good too, but I can only speak to breakfast. I had the blueberry lemon French toast and it did not disappoint! I also had one of the best breakfast quesadillas I’ve ever eaten! Service was great, food was great, atmosphere was great…you need to eat here. It’s a bit on the pricier side, but worth it. Our server, Rita, was top notch!
Absolutely fantastic establishment. Wait staff was extremely friendly and courteous. Food was outstanding for Sunday brunch. The endless mimosas were a treat. Chef has a remarkable personality and filled with laughter.
Food is great! I had a chicken enchilada which was incredible. Chips and salsa with fresh guacamole. Margarita was perfect. Staff is amazing. Very attentive and polite
Rita’s Cantina is the Camelback Inn’s breakfast spot and has a great bar and food service all day. Dinner was especially good. Service is outstanding.
Lovely atmosphere. Live music every night. You MUST order the quesadilla for dinner and the skillet for breakfast. The s'mores dessert and the sorbet are to die for.
Rita's Kitchen in the JW Marriott is in An amazing location with fantastic views of Cammelback mountain. Food is very good and the staff was friendly. For outdoor seating, make sure you are seated away from the building as it heats up during the day, tables near the building get extra heat so middle of patio is best. After dinner, take a stroll around the grounds with rivers and waterfalls along with spectular lighting of statues, massive cacti and the cascading water. Hard to beat this setting.
Wow! One of the best short ribs of my life. The service was impeccable. The views were gorgeous. This is my date night getaway!
Great atmosphere, a wonderful place to enjoy outdoors in a 5 star hotel. Everybody is cool, Orlando and Darcie were amazing serving our table. We really enjoyed
My husband and I enjoyed a 49th anniversary dinner, Here. Great food and service.
Exceeded expectations! We live five minutes away and will be coming back on the regular, the food and drinks were great! Juan Carlos was our server and he exceeded expectations, the live music, the views, the ambiance! Overall an 11/10!
Great experience in the air conditioned celebrating the 102nd birthday with Louise. Staff was wonderful, quiet enough to have a conversation, and surprise birthday cake for our dear friend. Happy hour prices with quality food... hated to beat
Super bar, great appetizers, amazing hamburger. Wonderful service, makes everyone feel welcome. The Sunday brunch is spectacular!
The churros were tdf. The huevos rancheros are amazing. They serve specialty mock-tails too, which are delicious. The setting is likely the best in the valley!
Such a great place to enjoy a nice dinner. Great and quick service. Food was exquisite and would recommend anyone to come for dinner here to enjoy the food, atmosphere, and views.
We had lunch at Rita's a few days ago. From beginning to end, our experience was wonderful. Not only is the food delicious, the atmosphere was so tranquil, and just what we needed on that day. Our server Jon was really great. Helpful, courteous, and professional. He went above and beyond to explain different dishes on not only the lunch menu, but the dinner menu and how they were prepared. it really helped us in our decision making, as this was our first time there for lunch. Jon steered us in the best of directions. What we ordered that day was very delicious, especially the Ranchero beans and the Chicken Poblano Torta sandwich,as well as the Tortilla Soup. We will be going back much more frequently in the future.
It was so good and honestly, the location is incredible. ChatGPT recommended to me when I said I wanna a breakfast with a view and I was not disappointed.
One word -Fancy. We had our team celebration here this February and the atmosphere was amazing with the mountains in the background. The food was great but the company and conversations was awesome.
This place is a hidden gem. The food is fantastic and the margaritas are the best. But what makes this plc outstanding is the service. Every server makes you feel special. One in particular remains etched in my memory- his name is Jon (esquivel if i heard him rt!) It felt like he really wanted me to enjoy the evening, and not just take my order. Its the little things i said in passing like an outside table, letting me keep the pen when iiked it.. its noticing ans hearing the little things. That level of care really made the service stand out.
We hosted a large group gathering and had the absolute best time at Rita’s! The food & drinks were delicious with awesome options, the service was amazing and everyone was so kind and helpful, and the atmosphere was welcoming and beautiful. The florals were stunning and the live music was a wonderful addition - would definitely come back again!
Not sure if we should rate hotel restaurants the same way as standalone restaurant, because in hotels, restaurants and food in general are only an accessory -not the focal point. At least in this particular case. We stayed in the JW Marriott at Camelback (which by the way is mind blowing) couple of days and Rita Cantina was the restaurant in-situ. Simply delicious, we tried it for breakfast and lunch and have nothing to say besides the flavors are amazing, the service is joyful and dedicated and the menu simply what you need to relax in a resort. The morning omelette with chorizo and a huge array of toppings was so tasty. The lunch menu is nothing sophisticated but is precise cohesive and the plates are very well executed. The steak tacos with cotija cheese and beans were so perfect representation of Tex mex food with corn tortilla and homemade salsa. The desserts menu has three options but all on point, soft, sweet but not too much, good portion and not too indulgent. For more content please check out my IG profile @ destination_food33
The setting is just the best here! Come closer to sunset so you can enjoy the colorful sky and then lights. They usually have live music, and this Friday night was perfect…Guy playing guitar and songs we knew, but didn’t make us cringe lol. He was on pitch and didn’t overpower our conversations. Chips and Guac were served quickly. Salmon was cooked perfectly but could have used a little more flavor and oomph. Honestly, all their food could use a little more seasoning. They accept reservations, and I recommend them because it can be very busy depending on resort capacity. We have been to this location several times, and I love that they have patio heaters when there is a chill in the air. Enjoy!
We enjoyed the lunch special at Rita's. The atmosphere was delightful-- clean, beautiful, well kept, and tons of flowers everywhere. All the food looked and tasted good, but service lacked a little so one star of off. Definitely going back. They serve at least breakfast and lunch. I didn't see a dinner menu, but most likely open.
We stayed at the JW for three nights and ate at Rita's twice when we were there. We had lunch and breakfast. Their lunch special is good value. For breakfast we opted for the buffet and you really cant lose. They have a huge selection, have well labeled vegetarian options and will offer gluten free options as well. Their staff are awesome. They are friendly, accommodating and looking to make your experience great. I'd definitely go back.
Rita’s Cantina offers a breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner options. A lot of time they have live music too. The breakfast is yummy with an egg station, gluten free pancakes, fresh fruit and lots of choices. The mushroom quesadilla with truffle cheese is really delicious! We got it a couple times. Their spicy margarita is worth trying.
Flavorful, delicious food and beautiful patio. (Although the host first directed us to a table in a shadowy corner away from the fountain area.) The server was fine, not particularly friendly or gracious, but did her job.
Went for the mother's day brunch. Good food and quick with the mimosas, but a little disappointed in the food quality and choices for $99 a person. The crab legs were really the only thing on the menu that struck me as adding value to the price tag; most of the condiments/butter/etc were prepackaged (plastics cream cheese, store bought butter/etc). The entrees were very hit an miss on temperature and quality. Okay taco bar, okay meat station, and a bunch of bread and typical breakfast food. Dessert was excellent, though. I can see $45 for the summer brunch here, but the $75/$99 premium buffets are a terrible value just to get endless Cupcake wine and some crab. Unless you eat your weight in crab legs, I would avoid and go to a higher quality restaurant. For $99, you could go to a high-end steakhouse and get a few glasses instead of a bunch of lukewarm catered brunch food.
The atmosphere is beautiful, but service ALWAYS falls short. I keep coming back because the spot is beautiful. I just wish the service would tend to customers faster. I can sit here all day without being acknowledged. They refuse to clear any old dishes/glasses until you ask.
I love the ambience at Rita’s. Food typically good to very good. Service needs attention. Last two visits very understaffed. Puts a strain on the help/servers as a guest you can sense they’re overwhelmed because they can’t timely get to the tables and give the quality of service other restaurants offer.
This is a high end Marriott with extremely poor service at Rita’s. More than one staff server was rude and poorly trained. Overcharged our bill and gave us an argument. Mandatory 20 percent gratuity is added for service that is not worth 15 percent. Very surprising for a high end resort.
My 78 yr old mother flew in from out of state for my birthday and booked a table for 4 of our family members on the PATIO. She is on a fixed income but wanted to splurge for her only daughters birthday as long as it would have beautiful views and we could enjoy the sunset together as a family since we only get together every few years. We drove 45 mins to get to the place and five minutes before our arrival we received a phone call saying the patio was now booked for a corporate group and the only tables available were inside the restaurant. She booked the reservation a week in advance for a patio table OUTSIDE! Since it was already late on a Saturday we decided we would just go in because we were all hungry and anywhere else would be hard to get a reservation that late. We were seated in a back dining room in the last open table right next to the kitchen and the table next to us had several dogs with them, that were in no way, shape or form services animals! Yorkies, Poodles etc…I am allergic and by the time I got halfway into my plate of food, I had to get up and leave the table to go wait outside by the car, while the rest of my family finished eating. We were treated like cattle and they had no regard for the fact we wanted a special dining experience for my birthday. The view of the corporate group of 100+ people having a great time on the patio, only added insult to injury for all of us! Rita’s Hideaway ruined my birthday dinner and then gave us a bill of $300 for doing so. The food was mediocre as was the service. The bus boy was very rude and acted put off when we politely asked for more water. He looked at us like we were being unreasonable and gave my son a very dirty look! Very disappointed!!!
The experience was far below expectations — especially for a JW Marriott restaurant. The food quality was poor, the chef’s attitude was terrible, the dining area was unclean, and the restaurant was clearly short-staffed. I honestly couldn’t believe I was dining at a JW Marriott. When I called the day before to make a reservation, I was told that the buffet was served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., so we booked for 10:30. On Sunday, we arrived at 10:40. There was only one host at the front desk, and since she was on the phone with another guest, we waited about five minutes to be seated. During that time, she completely ignored us — no greeting, no acknowledgment, not even eye contact. That set the tone for the rest of the meal: the entire staff, including the chefs, gave off an “I don’t care” attitude. The restaurant was less than a quarter full, yet the floor had crumbs and bits of food scattered around, and the tables still had bread pieces from previous guests. Some of the buffet trays were already empty, and no one was refilling them. Since this was supposed to be a buffet, I expected the food to be replenished — but it never was. We had to go directly to the only chef on duty to ask for food, but he looked upset, expressionless, and indifferent. I even saw him scrape food waste off the grill into a trash can, and when some missed and fell onto the floor, he simply ignored it. When I asked if there were gluten-free waffles, the chef said yes but that I had to order through my server. Finding a server was another challenge. When I finally found ours and asked for a gluten-free waffle, she told me to ask the chef. After I explained that the chef had told me to ask her, she reluctantly placed the order. When the waffle finally arrived, I wanted some honey, but again, I couldn’t find any server. I could only reach our server about once every ten minutes. During the meal, two or three flies kept hovering around our table, occasionally landing on our food. I had to keep waving them away while trying to flag down a server. My two kids stopped eating after just a few bites. We were all still hungry but just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. Even paying the bill took forever because we couldn’t find anyone to help. There seemed to be only one host, one server taking orders, and two people delivering food. None of them worked as a team. No one cleared dishes, cleaned tables, or swept up the food on the floor. Several empty tables were littered with bread crumbs, fruit pieces, and other leftovers — especially under tables where families with small children had been seated. From the time we arrived until the time we left, no one ever cleaned the floors. Ten years ago, when my wife and I lived in Phoenix, we often went to JW Marriott’s Rita’s Kitchen for their legendary Sunday brunch buffet. We loved the relaxing atmosphere, endless champagne, crab legs, seafood, carved prime rib, made-to-order crepes, omelets, waffles, fresh fruit, and strawberry chocolate fondue. We have many wonderful memories from those visits. Now, ten years later, we returned to Arizona and were so excited to bring our kids to experience the same Sunday brunch we had always talked about. We even called on Saturday to confirm that Rita’s Kitchen still had a Sunday brunch buffet. The person on the phone enthusiastically said yes — that the “Sunday brunch and buffet” were back — so we made a reservation immediately and drove an hour the next morning. But what a shock. Maybe there was a misunderstanding — perhaps the “buffet” she mentioned was just a breakfast buffet, and the “Sunday brunch” was something else entirely. Still, if the buffet ended at 10:30 or 11:00, when I arrived at 10:45 and told the host that we weren’t hotel guests but wanted to pay $41 per person for the buffet, shouldn’t she at least have informed me that the buffet was already over? Although I already felt unwelcome when we entered the restaurant, I still naïvely believed in the JW Marriott brand. This visit was completely disappointing.
If it’s was possible to give negative stars oh the rating would be -3 stars. Where to begin…it’s an outdoor restaurant in Scottsdale…what does Scottsdale have outside noseeums and flys…hence why all outdoor places have fans! This place did not and the food was constantly crawling with both. I wish that was all but were just getting started…add on to that a woman waitress that for lack of a better term was rude and had the attitude of “how dare I have to wait on these resort people” this is a 4 star hotel mind you that’s charging almost $40 for a Caesar salad with shrimp lol…with that we order a starter and a soup to start…the queso might as well be microwaved Tostitos with meat put in it but that would be mean to the Tostitos queso….it comes out like warm at best. 20 minutes later still no soup…still no waitress to check on us…another 15 minutes another waiter brings our entrees…two different meat dishes and guess what they are colddddd…the fries also cold shocking I know….I’m sure it’ll be fine the waitress will come by and check…also wait where’s the soup?? Ahhh the server the brought our food asked her and she tells him (I overheard since you wasn’t paying any attention) “ ahhh yea I forgot that I bet they won’t notice” finally we get a manager and he tried his best to fix the situation but much wow go to Blanco 8 minutes down the street save 50% of your cost and have a great meal with Great service….bye bye for now and this place should be closed it’s embarrassing
