The burger and onion rings I had were great. The staff was polite and friendly. The place is clean, saw the staff cleaning the floors and also the restroom. The outside areas had also been swept. If I go back that direction I'll stop again.

I got the bacon cheeseburger with jalapeños. Burger was delicious! Jalapeños were fresh, not the picked kind. The beer battered onion rings were very good as well. Reasonably priced. I highly recommend!

Hugh selection of both traditional hamburger stand fair, but also healthy alternatives. Recommend the protein plates. Also has a wide selection of flavors in smoothies and milk shakes. Can get crowded during peak lunch times, so have patience.

Nice Old School Napa spot, the chorizo queso Burger was out of this world! My Wife's order of Fish n chips and calamari rings...was out of the freezer, just like gortons from the box... but they also have 100's of milkshake and Smoothie flavors that are legit and delicious!

Big D is the best and it's only gotta better . All the classic american eats . Shakes in nearly every flavor , I'm partial to lime and peach ! Not the fastest food in town but it beats the pants off fosters freeze .

I've always loved this place since before I moved to Napa about 6 years ago. Totally a little diner type establishment. Their service is awesome. I never had any issues calling in or dine in orders. Everyone is friendly and greets you as you walk through the door. They'll have something for everyone. And it ALL taste so soo good.

Great burger spot. They are always great on time and food always tastes great. My usual is the fish sando or the fish and chips. I always call ahead and have never had to wait more than 15 mins. In all the years I've been going here, they have never messed up my order. Which is honestly so appreciated.

Stopped at Mr. D's on the way up to Calistoga. The wife was starving - old style burger place trades people grabbing their lunch. Good service good food I had fish and chips and the wife had a cheeseburger both quite tasty and good value. Restroom was very clean!

I had the chicken tacos. Chicken was very flavorful and the tacos had perfectly charred peppers. It has a flavor of it's own with mozzarella like stringy hot cheese at the bottom of the tortilla. Great stop by for a quick bite

I ordered the Hawaiian burger along with a side of twisty fries, and I must say, it was an absolute delight. The flavors melded together in a symphony of taste that left me craving for more. The pineapple on the burger brought a tropical twist that was unexpected but incredibly satisfying. What pleasantly surprised us even more was the reasonable pricing. Quality often comes at a premium, but at Big D’s, you get top-notch taste without breaking the bank. This, in itself, makes it a gem in the world of burger joints. If you’re in the area and debating whether to give Big D’s a chance, I wholeheartedly recommend it. Excellent burgers. Well seasoned, nice charred flavor. Had the fried calamari, which was also pretty damn good. Haven't had a shake yet, or their tacos; as this was my very first visit. I'll definitely be back.

I have gone to Big D burgers through out the years and it never disappoints. They make great burgers and fries with a huge menu for just about everyone. Their staff members are always friendly and courteous.

Awesome food! No doubt, but the Onion Rings and Fries I think the servings were to small for the price. But if you dont mind the price for the quality then it's a done deal.

Solid burgers and other foods. Fried chicken sandwich is good, as are the fries. Nice place to sit down and a little retro as well. Solid Shake and float lineup as well.

I have eaten here a couple of times. +Butterscotch milkshake and every variety of fries you can imagine....need I say more? -Manager/owner likes to socialize with friends while running the register. Be prepared to wait in line a long time.

Would only give three stars if I was only talking about the burgers which are over-hyped and not worth the price. But I'm giving an extra star because of the MILKSHAKES! I don't know what type of ice cream they got going on over there but it makes some of my favorite shakes ever. They have like 30 flavors and so far every single one has SLAPPED. I blame every ounce of extra weight I gain this year to the addiction I'm slowly forming to these shakes. So far my favorite is creme de cacao.

Been coming to Big d burgers since 1983 I've always loved their big d Burgers the barbecue sauce bacon grilled onions etc. The milkshakes are still pretty good but they're not as big as they used to be they're large is like a small to maybe a medium back in the day.

Old fashion hamburgers! This place is a locals secret. Located off the beaten path, Silverado Trail will lead you there. The burgers are great! And you don't need a lot of money. Friendly happy people!

The food is good and service is also good. I went here because Gotts Roadside was a bit too busy for me. I was pleasantly surprised when a friend and myself came here and grabbed something to eat. I would definitely keep going here while living in the area. Definitely would suggest this place.

This is a small, very casual place where you order casual food like tacos and hamburgers, drinks, and the like at a counter, pay when you order, and then wait for it to be prepared. You can wait inside or outside for your order to be prepared. Sometimes they answer the phone, and you can order ahead. It's definitely not fancy, but there is quite a bit of parking available. There are a couple of formica tables to eat at inside, and they offer an adjacent, somewhat small, painted redwood building that has inside tables and chairs for eating what is the type of food that could be considered take out. They also offer a scattering of metal, four-chair, covered picnic tables and even a few covered, wooden picnic tables with benches to sit down and eat after you pick up your order inside. It's a good place for families with kids, a couple grabbing a quick bite, a solo diner, and workmen who drive service trucks to grab quick food and cold drinks either to go or eat there. Again, it's the opposite of fancy. I like the three-taco trays that come in your choice of chicken, fish, shrimp, or maybe beef, and stop in while I'm out running errands or meeting up with a friend for a quick, twenty-minute meal. It's definitely not upscale, restaurant-style dining, but it's tasty food freshly prepared to your order.

It wasn't bad. The fish portions were a little underwhelming. Everything was cooked well, the curly fries were seasoned well. The wait time was a little on the busy side. If you're looking for something outside of fish, you'll probably be happy.

I'll usually stop in when I'm in the area for lunch and I always get the fish and chips. The portions have gotten smaller but the taste is still good. My co-workers usually get the burgers and they never seem to complain about those. I like the mango smoothies, and they also have clean bathrooms as well!... I have even driven back over for dinner to get the fish and chips of course...

Chicken strips are pricy for only being 3 small nugget sized bites. And didn't get correct burger for husband. Otherwise it would of been a five stars.

Good food, bad service. I enjoyed the big D burger and making fun of its name, but they forgot my drink and didn’t give me any napkins. No trash cans anywhere (they told us they were in the gazebo, which was closed up.) Very high prices.

It is hard to compare with any other place. It is also a bit pricey compared to other major places such as In N out and Gotts. I would say that price is similar to Gotts and the taste is less than In N out.

Calipari rings were undercooked and like rubber, the 1/2 lb burger contained high quality hamburger but disappointed, it seemed like it was just thrown together, onion rings were great Food is overpriced sorry to say, I have frequented this restaurant for 40 years and it's not the same food it used to be.

I really must recommend the Jalapeno Avacado burger. If you like spicy, this burger is on point. Delicious FRESH jalapenos, not those weak pickled ones. Fresh avacado and a well seasoned burger. Personally I do not like the sides here, they all taste like the frozen fries, onion rings, etc you buy from Smart & Final. They just aren't worth ordering. I no longer order sides here, just the burgers, unless it's the fish n chips. I would really like it if they worked on the sides.

This is the perfect milkshake, greasy burger, and huge, crunchy onion rings! The regular fries are crunchy and curly. The food is fresh. They have pepsi products.

It's an OK burger for a average price, however $3 for a 12 Oz soda & $7 for a 16 Oz shake is absolutely ridiculous. This place is extremely dated & is long overdue for a remodel. The tables are worn out & broken, everything is from the 60's except for the cheep plastic patio furniture that was replaced 15 years ago. Overall it's not a bad place but the owners need to take more pride in there business & not gouge customers on drinks...

Burgers were not that great. Buns were dry and the patty was not smoky and so bland. I couldn’t taste much from my burger. But, Milk shake was pretty good and the staffs were nice. I would like to recommend the manager to change straws for milk shakes because the straw keeps getting choked by blended fruits.

The patty melt was terrible. Under grilled onions, too small patty and wildly over done bread. Chilli in cheese fries is not chili - it is all beans. And not enough cheese to matter. Really bad food. And it took forever to make it. Then no trash bins to drop containers. I will not eat there again

The food was ok. The have a varied menu. It's very pricey. A burger, fries, and a drink was $20. Total Bill for 4 was $79.20 Not including tip. They have many flavors for handmade shakes, $6 for 24oz.

So I always see a lot of cars here. So I thought I would try it. I got a bacon burger and the patty was about as thin as In and Out's patty and it was burned. The curly fries had no flavor. It was dirty inside.

Got the Big D burger which to be honest could not tell what kind of meat it was. The patties were dry and crumbly and the taste was somewhat lacking. Will Not go back to try any other items. Sad because a lot of people had recommended it.

Very long wait ( no, it wasn't busy ). Had to redo my burger because they forgot the cheese. Burger was dry and hard after being cooked twice. Onion rings were cold ( ate them while waiting for my burger to be redone) . Eating outside was impossible due to very aggressive yellow jackets.

I had a really rude employes mock me at this restaurant. They were young teenage girls and I was actually taken aback how rude they were. The wait for the food here is unacceptable. With the restaurant empty to get a single order will take at least over 15 minutes. The roster of people working there is sloppy.

Thanks to a thick layer of mayo on one side and a thick layer of avocado on the other, I was able to remove the onions (and the mayo and avocado and about half the green leaf lettuce) and feel safe trying the food. My order had taken 20 minutes to be made and I didn't want to wait through a re-order. The fries were crispy, if ordinary. They were crinkle cut from the freezer. The burger had fresh vegetables and fruit on it, which (after I'd discarded what I had to) were crisp where they were supposed to be and tasted good. The bun was decent, covered with sesame seeds, and just a tad dry, but well-toasted on the grill. The burger itself, which I'd hoped would be the star, was not good. The party was thin and cooked well-done, which I am okay with in most circumstances. But this one lacked a good crust, suggesting a grill that's off temp or just turned too low. It was tough, which is surprising from ground beef, and by the third bite I'd had to spit out two separate nuggets of bone, which is also surprising. And unpleasant. The meat itself was flavorless. At the halfway point, I gave up. The price I paid for burger, fries, and a can of soda (plus 18% tip) was $18.70. Even in Napa, that's pretty steep. Sorry, Big D. Maybe today was an off-day, but I'm not likely to come back to find out.

I genuinely wanted to enjoy this place, but unfortunately, the food fell well below expectations. The prices are quite high, especially considering the food just isn’t good. Honestly, you’re better off saving your time and money, and just go to places like Gott’s or even In N Out if you’re craving a good burger!

I genuinely wanted to enjoy this place, but unfortunately, the food fell well below expectations. The prices are quite high, especially considering the food just isn’t good. Honestly, you’re better off saving your time and money, and just go to places like Gott’s or even In N Out if you’re craving a good burger!

I was anxious to try the chicken protein plate - what a disappointment. The tomatoes were unripe, the lettuce had black spots, the mushrooms were burned. The food had been dumped in the container. The chicken was the only thing I could eat! Won't be going there again - ever!

The burgers were sloppily made .one of them h ad crumbled and was just stacked pieces of meat all junky looking . And they were not quality burgers you expect for r 10$ each .they even forgot the jalapeños on my husband's jalapeño burger..but we went back and got them....watch out they are super hot! Lol

I placed my order over the phone and went to get my burger. I tried to pay but the girl behind the counter assured me it was paid for she told me a few times and it registered in my mind like somebody gave me an act of kindness that felt really good... for a moment.. i was ready to leave with a warm heart and free food.. then she said never mind that she made a mistake. So I paid 27 dollars for 2 burgers and 10 onion rings. The confusion hurt my feelings 😪

If I could give a 0 star review, I would. I called in my order. When I arrived, I received a text that my order was ready. When I walked in, I was completely ignored. The girl working the counter ignored me for about 5 minutes. She then proceeded to help customers who came in after me. When I told her I was there to pick up my order, she told me to “wait my turn”. 4 more customers came in and were helped after that. When I approached the counter again, my food had been sitting on the counter for over 20 minutes. By this point, the hot food was cold, and the salad was wilted. I asked the girl at the counter if I could get it remade, since she had let it sit out for so long while ignoring me, she said no…”take it or leave it”. I always try to support local businesses, but this experience was absolutely ridiculous.

The place sucks don't go there the rude the food's no good and a new owners an a******wouldn't let me use the bathroom after me and my grandson had lunch he said it was broken I saw his employees using it don't go there go to Burger King is better!!!!! And cheaper!!!! Owner's a jerk!!!!!?

I paid $5 dollars for 5 onion rings and $1 for dip. When I called to complain because my food was delivered they only said oh well.

Equally cold in atmospherexas the restvof the tge buikding i callca dive.seating incattached building is not comfirtable, is cheap in appearance, was dirty, and I imagibe it to be hard to clean and i would not be able to work in that atmosphere or location unless a new building with better amenities is created. I do not know if rodents have access to this old old building. I would wNt a broom sweep inspection when they first open in AM. Its hard to be in a tiny room and notcsee acsink for hand washing, however many others come herexand love it, like the food. Hand- menu not available for each table but a sort-of- a -menu is at the counter hard to stand and try to read. No, Thank you.

Stopped here after a long day of work! looked nice from outside but as soon as I walked in the door i was not greeted nor was the atmosphere nice or kid friendly! My burger was disgusting but had alot of cheese on it ! Service was horrible and you couldnt pay me to eat here again! Will not be coming back!

How is it $50 for just 2 meals at this burger shack? And they be handing out some overpriced skimpy ahh burgers. And how are regular fries are more expensive than union rings. Charged me an additional dollar for every dressing. Definitely not have the best burgers and not planning on coming back to this place

They had the open sign i walked in, the waitress said hi how are you. Then took a second to say oh we're closed. Im like well thanks because the open sign is on, the door is unlocked, and it's not 8 pm. Then she started telling the staff in back in spanish well we're closed anyways. Not knowing i speak fluent spanish. I only wanted a drink, but now i don't want to return.
