We visited the most popular bbq spot in Conroe (won't name) and this place, Coast BBQ was so much better. Fantastic brisket, half chickens and my personal fav, the Boudin. Would love to come back and try the banana pudding. Super friendly service too. Thanks Dee for being so welcoming and providing us with some tips for visiting the area.
This right here is the real deal Texas barbecue. The family that owns the place and works here are sweet people with the best service. Really a gem of a place fr.
Absolutely phenomenal. The ribs fell off the bone, the turkey was incredibly tender and moist, and the jalapeño cheddar link was delicious! We loved the mac and cheese and banana pudding too. The outdoor patio has lots of fans and tables and the service was great and quick. Honestly this was a delightful find on our weekend trip!
Absolutely incredible. We got the 3C sample platter and every single thing on it hit. The brisket was a straight 10/10, perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. The pork belly was amazing. The ribs were some of the best I’ve ever had. The turkey. THE TURKEY was unbelievably juicy. Sides were just as good. The mac and cheese was to die for. The cobbler was exactly how I like it. Im going to add some vanilla ice cream later and i can already tell it will bring it to the next level. Hands down one of the best BBQ spots around. We’ll definitely be back.
The moist brisket was really good. The pork belly was good. Service was great...they're super friendly. The peach cobbler wasnt my favorite. I prefer a less spongy crust. I'll definitely be back to try other items.
This is one of those rare BBQ spots that gets everything right -food, service, and heart. It’s a family-owned place with a genuinely warm, homely feel. The kind of spot where you instantly feel welcomed, comfortable, and taken care of. At one point, I almost called the chef “mom” — that’s how real and comforting the energy was. The staff was incredibly attentive and took the time to understand my dietary needs, especially since I don’t eat dairy or pork. Instead of rushing me, they walked me through the menu thoughtfully and helped me choose the best options without compromising flavor or quality. And the food? Better than best. Perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and clearly made with pride and experience. You can taste the care in every bite. This isn’t just a BBQ joint it’s a place built on good people, great food, and real hospitality. If you want amazing BBQ served with genuine warmth and respect, this is the spot. I’ll definitely be back.
This place is exactly what you want when you come to Texas, family owned and super great atmosphere. The owners are great people and I can’t say good enough things about it. Food was unbelievable, Mac n cheese, brisket, collard greens. Everything 12/10
We've been coming to 3rd Coast weekly for 8 years and never left a review. Our kids shame me every time we eat there and I talk about how great it is - - "dad have you left a review?" So typing this is releasing the weight of the world off my shoulders! :) We have tried everything here over the years! Everything we've had is phenomenal! The brisket is amazing and I'd put their brisket sandwich up against any sandwich I've had in my life! We love the wings too! All the sides are great - our favorites are the mac n cheese and smoked collard greens! The baked potatoes are massive and delicious! Their huge soft pretzels are amazing and every dessert we've had - delicious! It's a cool vibe! Cool outdoor area to sit, listen to music, watch the game, and have the kids run around. The owners are great people and the service always top notch! This is one place I've never understood why it doesn't have lines around the corner. I've been to the ones which do and I'd put 3rd Coast up against them any day!
I’ve been here a few times prior, however this time we decided to “dine in.” They have a cute area in the back with picnic tables, corn hole, and a beautiful lemon tree. We ordered a variety of items but my plate included pork belly, pinto beans, and peach cobbler. The pork belly was crispy, and moist with a sweet and smokey flavor. The pinto beans…I literally could just eat them as a main dish. They are soooooooooo good, meaty and full of flavor! Peach cobbler was amazing, perfect proportion of crust and peaches. Service was speedy and the staff were friendly and accommodating!
What an incredible hidden gem- 3rd Coast BBQ is top notch local Texas BBQ. We tried most of the menu and here is the genuine review: Their ribs fall off the bone, their country sausage bursts with flavor, the turkey is juicy, and the brisket is a must. Their homemade bbq sauce is great, and the atmosphere is perfect to have a good time with some friends drinking beers and enjoying bbq, with corn hole and plenty of space. The owners are true family people and so wonderful to chat with, and you CAN NOT skip their banana puddin!!! Highly recommend, we were shocked this spot was not more popular than it is. So happy we stumbled across them.
Holy moly I can’t believe this place. It is sooooo delicious. I had the brisket, ribs, beans, and potato salad. I haven’t stopped thinking about it since going there yesterday. Hands down the best brisket I have ever had and those beans were soooo delicious. If I could give them 15 stars for taste and service I would.
This is my opinion of this Bbq place and I hope you visit and make up your own mind. First off this place is mainly run by the family. They are extremely gracious and hard working! Absolutely loved visiting with them. The place gives off a hideout spot where you can enjoy a cold beer, bbq, and sports. As far as the food the Brisket was phenomenal! Great bark and perfectly sliced pieces. Very tender. The ribs were also smoked and seasoned perfectly with just the right amount of sweetness for my taste. The Jalapeño/cheese sausage was okay and did not stand out. The Mac and cheese was our favorite side with the beans coming in second. The smoked collard greens were unique but not a favorite. The chipotle coleslaw was also unique but we felt as if it needed a little sweetness to offset the spicy some so we added a little honey to ours and it mellowed it out and gave it the sweetness we felt it needed. The potato salad was okay. Also had the smoked banana pudding which could have used a little more wafers for our liking. Peach cobbler is worth getting for sure! Overall this is just an opinion and our preferences, but just to note, we will definitely be coming back for the bbq!!!
It was my first time visiting and wanted good rates Texas BBQ. This place is exactly what I was looking for! I highly recommend trying out their samplers! We had their smoke brisket, turkey, pull pork, and fall of the bone ribs! Sides: collard greens, bake beans, and coleslaw! If you love BBQ, you will not be disappointed!
Great spot for BBQ. First let's start out with the friendly service from the owner. They are so welcoming and truly want you to have a good experience. The food came out fast and the portions were huge. The ribs and brisket are top notch. Sides were good as well especially their potato salad. Definitely will be back to explore more of the menu.
some of the best bbq I have had in years! Moist, tender, flavorful ribs and brisket. The potatoes are large, loaded with sour cream, chives, cheese, butter, and the brisket really topped it off, though there are other options of protein. If you're in the area looking for good BBQ, stop on in at 3rd Coast and enjoy a Texan's favorite!
Some of the best BBQ in Texas. Ribs are fall-off-the-bone. Brisket is flavorful. Their sides especially the Mac and cheese are outstanding. My favorites are the brisket or turkey Whoaboy and the potato with meat. Definitely will keep coming back! Update: beef ribs are huge and come right off the bone
"If you're looking for a spot with a true Texas soul right in the city, this is it. It’s located very close to The Woodlands, but it immediately makes you feel like you've stepped out into the countryside. The best part is the atmosphere; it’s a family-run business through and through, which gives it a personal, welcoming touch you just don't get at big chains. The menu offers a solid variety of items. I was a bit disappointed they were out of ribs when I visited, but the sandwich I ordered instead was delicious and hit the spot. The patio is a great place to relax. While the place might look a bit 'run-down' or weathered in some areas, I think that’s just part of its rustic, unpretentious charm. Definitely an authentic spot for a good meal!
Real Texas BBQ spot. Cozy, laid-back, and full of character. The building’s a little tired, but that just adds to the charm. Great smoke and good vibes. Only wish they had a better variety of BBQ sauces to choose from. 🤠🔥
The owner and his wife are very nice people and want you to have an excellent experience. The patio has a great vibe and has everything you might need. 5/5 for service and atmosphere The food overall 4/5. Ribs were solid, they don't fall off the bone but a bite is clean just like it should be in competition and flavor was pretty good. Brisket was also pretty good, even though I went with moist it wasn't the most moist but not dry either. Turkey was a bit of a let down, it seemed pretty dry, Turkey often gets overlooked in bbq but I have started to notice its actually a sleeper and someplace it's incredible. Lastly the boudin, I loved the spice level. Sides 4.5/5. The collard greens were very good a little more meat in them would be nice but honestly very solid. Pinto beans were also solid. I would absolutely return to enjoy time on the patio.
They've recently been listed on the Houston Chronicle's Top 30 in Houston so had to give them a try. They've got a very cool little shack just across I-45 from The Woodlands, you order at the window and they bring it out, 100% outdoor seating at picnic tables, but shaded with fans. I got a late lunch at 1:30pm and found the meat lukewarm and the fat had started to congeal on both fatty brisket and ribs. Very disappointing as it was clear that the underlying flavor was good or excellent - hard to tell when it's not warm and the fat is sticky. I found their house sausage to be bland and uninteresting, but the potato salad, smoked beans, and pickles were all excellent. I think they deserve another try, but I don't understand selling a $40 lunch and not getting the temp right.
Hidden BBQ joint in the Woodlands. Very rustic old house with outdoor patio seating, Texas country music. Prices were decent and Bbq was ok. Sauce was not my favorite. Too thin. I prefer a sweeter sauce. Pork ribs were descent but very bland rub. Just salt/pepper. Sides were ok as well. Read reviews of beans but there were not many beans in the dish. Mostly juice. Way too many bbq options local so would be hard pressed to give it another try.
I’ll start with the fact that are always kind when I go and that really does matter, EXCEPT for when you’re really looking for some gooood Texas BBQ. This food truck called Smokin Aces at the Shell on 99 and Birnham Woods is phenomenal, but they weren’t there today so I door dashed 1/4lb of brisket for $11 and a pint of potato salad for $13. The potato salad was pretty good, but the 1 slice of brisket I received wrapped in foil was just like I remembered…BLAND! I never leave reviews but today I was plum disappointed that one slice of brisket was $11. I get a plate of delicious brisket and two sides from Smokin Aces. I’m just sharing so others aren’t shocked like I was.
