Opiniones de Jerry's Deli Studio City
Best Jewish deli in town. Food is always tasty and I'm a big fan of their vegetarian rueban. But what hypnotizes me the most is the plates. As most of us know, with exception to those Square Plate conspiracists, dishware is round. But at Arts Deli, the circles don't just end with the outer rim of the plate, no! But there’s also circular lines moving inward to the center of the dish. Come to think of it...the cups are also round. And I saw someone that had a bagel, and a couple who ordered pancakes (also round). Wait a second! Is Art’s trying to tell us something? Is there a deeper meaning to these circles? As a kid, I learned from a bunch of singing lions that life goes in a circle, so maybe this unassuming delicatessen is trying to be a metaphor for the journey of life itself! We’re born, we eat stacked meat sandwiches, potato, latkes, and black and white cookies, and then die...It’s all starting to make sense now. Wow!What I wouldn’t have done without that circle with an a circle with a circle plate.
Love this amazing deli! Best vibes and food in the valley.
We ordered a large amount of food for a party. It was delivered on time, fresh and delicious ! Plenty of food and then some. Always worth the money for the best.
Great deli restaurant! Perfect for large or small groups. The staff all work well together. You can tell they take pride in their work to accommodate a busy crowd. Our group was large. We didn't have to wait too long for a table. Kelly was amazing! He was very patient with our chatty group. Food came promptly! My veggie frittata was more like an omelette, and dry but it was tasty. My friends all seemed to be very happy with their food. No leftovers! As we left, I placed a To Go Order, large barley soup. It was delicious at home for dinner!
Always a great choice for to go food or dining out. One of the best delis still around. Huge selection of food, sliced meats are always high quality. Best local place for turkey sandwiches, hot or cold. Delivery is almost always quick.
Art’s Delicatessen in Studio City is a true classic. Their pastrami sandwich is huge and packed with smoky, tender meat, and they don’t skimp on the sides—they serve big portions of potato salad and pickles. The deli has an old-school vibe, and the service is fast and friendly. It’s a great spot for a casual lunch or breakfast, especially if you’re craving hearty, classic deli food
Everything is delicious at Arnie’s. I can’t recommend it enough. Their potato salad is bomb too.
Art’s Delicatessen has been my North Star for deli cravings in Los Angeles since I first wandered in, and there is a reason this Studio City institution has been going strong since 1957. It does the classics the way classics should be done. The soups are the headline act. The matzo ball is light yet substantial, and if you order it my way, you get the full orchestra of comfort in one bowl. Matzo ball, kreplach, chicken, noodles, the whole symphony, and every note lands. Split pea is rich and velvety. Cabbage soup is bright and restorative. On days when you need a little fixing, this place is a reliable prescription, but today I went simply because it sounded good, and it still hit perfectly. Corned beef is sliced to the right thickness with that tender, steamy bite that tells you they care about the little things. Whitefish salad is balanced, clean, and generously portioned, great on rye that actually tastes like rye. The pickle plate still has that old school swagger. Portions are honest and the menu sticks to what Art’s does best, which is exactly what you want from a legacy deli. Service has always been kind here, but today Kelly from the deli made it feel like a neighborhood ritual. Quick, attentive, and all smiles, the sort of service that keeps regulars loyal and first timers impressed. The room has that lived in warmth that reminds you why Ventura Boulevard still matters for real food. Art’s remains my favorite deli in Los Angeles, an anchor for comfort and consistency, and proof that when you do the staples right, you do not need any gimmicks.
Possibly the best classic sandwich place in LA. I ate here 40 years ago, and thankfully nothing has changed (except the prices). Why mess with success? It’s pricy, but the sandwich portions are huge and the menu options are endless. I chose the brisket dip with au jus juice and fries. Heavenly! The atmosphere is classic diner, and the servers are all quick and friendly.
It was nice to find a delicatessen while visiting LA. Our server was excellent as was the food! The matzo ball soup had a great texture and consistency, my mom absolutely loved her Ruben and my Tuna melt was also fantastic. I've seen a few reviews about the prices but the portions are big and the prices to me were normal.

This is the first time that my husband and I are actually eating here we usually order takeout but we decided to sit down and eat and we're having the french dip sandwiches in the roast beef sandwiches with your absolutely delicious thank you so very much
Art’s Deli never disappoints! The sandwiches are incredible, and the rye bread is next level — soft, flavorful, and the perfect base for their classic deli fillings.
I cant believe i never knew this place existed! Listed as one of the most iconic deli's my turkey reuben was fantastic! The pastrami dip was amazing. Our server was a delight! Check out our video review @TripoutwithSadieandRandThom
So look, I’m a goy. I married a Jewish girl, it was the last decision I ever made. She wants to go to Arts Deli, so we go. We change seats twice. This one is too close to the toilet, that one she feels a draft. She says the corn beef is too fatty, I’m just happy to be eating a hot meal. This is all just to say, your experience will depend on your perspective. I loved it.
My husband and I just ordered our french dip sandwiches this is our first time trying this restaurant I wonder if it's going to be just as delicious as the french dip sandwiches from Felipe's weather for a family members recommended for us to come in and try this restaurant so we came in out of the rain this Friday afternoon and sober I'm our way home to enjoy a light early dinner

Amazing service and super cozy. We will definitely be going back. Our waitress was such a sweetheart, she went above and beyond. Prices are CRAZY but these be tough times. We got the corned beef hash (came with 2 eggs and a bagel), the baked salmon plate, a coffee, some OJ, and a sweet tea. Our bill was $75 before tip!!! Food was good though
I've been eating Art's food for over 45 years and remember when Art Ginsburg was alive and warmly greeted every person who ate there. As far as I'm concerned, Art's is the best Jewish delicatessen in the Valley and one of the best in all of Los Angeles. Through the difficult past few years the prices have gone up considerably and it is expensive, and that's my main gripe. But what can we do if we want to eat the food? So I get it but not as often. I'm glad the place is still around. The soups are great, sandwiches are still great, the corned beef and brisket are wonderful. Potato salad is good. Service and the restaurant is super and it's good for takeout. However, I do miss Roberta's wonderful cookies and chocolate fudge cake, they have not replaced those with anything to my knowledge. The bagel chips are good and the rye bread is delicious for the sandwiches. There are so many things on the menu to choose from and I'm sure everyone can find something they like whether they be blintzes, burgers, bagels, lox, white fish, knishes, or breakfasts, lunches, or dinners. The restaurant has comfortable seating and you can sit outdoors as well if there is room at the tables they have out there. My favorite really good snack item they have are chocolate marshmallow twists.
Open since 1957 Art’s is one of the more well-known delis in the valley. My main issue with it is that it doesn’t taste as good as some of the other competitors and the pricing is overly steep. We were a table of two and ordered one soup, two sandwiches, and two cookies and our bill was $115 which I think is absurd. All the delis are starting to price themselves more than diners but less than the LA hotspots but for someplace that specializes in sandwiches, I feel that many of them are climbing too high in their pricing. Art’s being one of these. Inside looks exactly how you would guess in that there are many booths as seating options that run the entire length of the restaurant in rows, along with a giant kitchen and a predominantly Hispanic kitchen staff. Our server was polite and everything that we ordered came out quickly, but the bill at the end really kind of soured the meal. As you would expect the menu here is giant just like it is at most delis but once you look over the menu, you realize there aren’t as many options as it seems like. If you’re not a fan of sandwiches or salads, this would not be the place for you. For my first visit I chose the Super Reuben which is a combined pastrami and corned beef Reuben. It was good, although not my favorite that I’ve had in town. The sandwich was gigantic and I was thinking of reducing it to the lighter portion but for a $3 discount I didn’t feel that it was worth it. I also started off with a bowl of the Beet Borscht and thought it was pretty good, although not as strong in flavor as other versions that I have had recently. Overall, I think this is a good deli, but there are better options around LA, especially given the price point. I will give it another try sometime in the future after I try the other delis that I have not been to yet.
I must admit, initially I was taken aback at the prices on the menu. Some sandwiches are $36! However, the pastrami dip is some of the best pastrami I’ve had. Well worth the price in my opinion. Classic and simple deli food done extremely well. The knishes are to die for, especially the potato one. This place oozes that old school vibe (perfect for the gram!) The service was fast and friendly and place was clean and comfy. They also have a relatively large variety in their desert case. The brownies were great!
Literally the most expensive deli I've been to. Everything was delicious, but also they charge 22 bucks for a hot dog. The crazy thing is, after talking about it all dinner, a lady sat down at the table next to us and ordered it. It was just a normal hot dog butterflied open. So we talked to her about it. How could you not? She was not stoked on it.
Good old school deli with a large menu. Service was good and our server was friendly. Plenty of nearby street parking on the weekend, clean bathrooms and the usual deli prices for Los Angeles. I enjoyed the Super Ruben, which was super.

Been here a couple times. I keep coming back because their food portions have met the price. Their not fancy but I promise you won't leave hungry.

Love this place for its setting and nice service but its prices are too high unfortunately. It was a work meeting and we spent 74 dollars for 2 eggs any style and coffee for 2 people. Maybe it’s just the inflation just being vicious right now.
This place is just a diner with prices that are outrageous. Mind blowing how expensive it is to get a meal for the average joe.
Solid deli food but it won't blow you away. A mile high sandwich comes up somewhat short of a mile. As you find with any deli these days, the prices are astronomical. I like the pastrami because it's not super salty and over seasoned, but they took that a little too far. It needs more garlic, more salt, more fat. Sandwich served on pretty average dry, crumbly bread. The secret to their potato salad, is they add pickle juice. Pretty tasty. I grew up eating in the best delis in New York City, so that set the standard for me. I'll get a bowl of matzo ball soup next time I go, that'll tell me how things really are.
Way overpriced, even for a Deli. Good food, IF you order the right item…. Great staff✅ $30/person MINIMUM Usually $40-$45
Save your time. The other reviews have also mentioned underwhelming flavor and crazy prices. - I actually loveeee the old school vibes. It’s clean in here and my server Kelly, he was the best!! The food was okay. I order the tuna salad sandwich. It was good but just bread and tuna salad. The server suggested I get tomato and lettuce on it. The potato salad was a bit salty - mind you, I like flavor. The matzo ball soup was pretty good. I must say I was so surprised by the price. For this meal is was $40. The sandwich wasn’t huge either. Service was great. But just bit over priced and underwhelmed with flavor. Maybe I’ll come back if I’m really craving a sandwich but idk.
Great food and service but terribly overpriced, even by LA standards. The atmosphere is perfect and it still feels like 1957, but a sandwich and potatoes pancakes will set you back almost $50.

Great food, but $32.00 for a corned beef take out sandwich with nothing else is pretty steep. Used to love this place, but I can’t afford it anymore. There are other delis that give you more food for cheaper. Sorry!

Expensive, average cuisine, poor service, dirty restroom. Twice visited, two strikes.
Came here looking for a simple sandwich as I driving by in the area. I had no idea how insane the prices were and not justified by the taste or quality of the food and definitely not the atmosphere. Sandwiches are $25-30, and so dry. I could have made a way better sandwich at home for free. Disappointing.
I'm dinging them on two things primarily. The first is their prices. $27 for a pastrami sandwich??!!!? That is just gouging plain and simple. It has gone up over 30% in 2 years! We are just going to drive to Canters or Factors from now on. It's not that far and parking is free. The second is their cup of matzo ball soup. They actually have the nerve to serve half a matzo ball!!! Who does that. No self-respecting jewish mother would ever do that. Either just offer a bowl, or do it right. It is the most absurd thing I've ever seen.
This place is underwhelming. No ampsoshere, food is average. The prices are inexcusable. The club sandwich is 42 dollars! That's 2x the price of Nate and Al's in Beverly Hills, and five dollars more than The Bel-air Hotel!!! How do they justify this? I've been going there for a while, because its close, but I just can't anymore. I really hate to leave a bad review in this volatile restaurant market, but come on guys! The place has the personality of a dead flea. With very little effort you can do better.
First, let me say I’m sick, so I specifically ordered from them chicken soup so that I didn’t have to make chicken soup. When my food got here, I had to make the chicken soup! There’s nothing more ridiculous than being sick out of your head with a cold, wanting good chicken soup and then having to make the soup yourself! What a waste of my time and health.

The place can be great again, the only issue is that it seems to have gotten stuck in the past. When I was there it seemed that the staff outnumbered the customers 4 staff per customer, possibly that could be why it's so overpriced. We have to cover the overstaffing. 2 people at the register, 3 waiters, and possibly 8 kitchen staff. There was only 4 people in the deli. The food, carrots from a can or possibly frozen as they were not evenly cooked. The Matzah ball was the only thing good that came out of the kitchen. Turkey pastrami was dry and lacking, getting stuck in my mouth and hard to swallow. The Potato kanish was not crunchy, rather mooshie and soft. It seemed that it was old as I could taste the fridge. Who eats a Kanish with Gravy, you eat it with deli mustard. Pricing was ridiculous, as when I was ordering I thought it would be a great experience. Rather not, so of course I will complain about the bill as it did not represent what was served. I almost forgot, what is the deal with plastic cups from the 80's, having a smell and not being clean. I feel bad, as I wanted this to be a pleasant meal with my wife. It turned into the, ok we tried it and it was not worth it. I hope the owners read this and reflect, you can make it a spot to go to again. Focus on giving great food, do not cut corners, and reduce your staff. If you are not busy, send people home, reduce cost and overhead and pass that onto the customers. We will keep coming back only if we have a great experience. Otherwise, the fact is, without changing you will remain in the past, becoming dusty and a distant memory of what was once a great place to go to. Aaron G.
Sat down and waited 40 minutes, finally flagged down a waiter who told us he’d been waiting for us to close our menus before checking on us. Decided we’d go somewhere else where it was easier to order.
My friend and I walked out. We felt like a Jewish sandwich (Pastrami) $26, and I had a real craving for Poptato Pancakes $27. 2 people and a couple of sodas is well over $100 FOR LUNCH. I really don't do Jewish Deli since most places are closed now, and Canter's is dog food. Shalom.
I went to this place via a recommendation. Ask for a pastrami sandwich and the order taker said $36. I said bye!
“Paid $140 for the worst sandwiches I’ve ever had in Los Angeles.” Paid $140 for three sandwiches, a soup, and a soda about $37 per sandwich and the food was awful. Turkey was dry, chicken tasted like it had been frozen for ages, and every bite had a freezer-burn taste. For this price, I could eat at a five-star restaurant in Beverly Hills, get fresher and better food, and still spend less. Outrageous prices, poor quality, and nothing fresh. Not worth it never again.
I have always loved this place but today I experienced one of the worst moments I have ever had in a restaurant. I was sitting outside with my dog eating lunch when an obnoxious man sat behind me and started a work call - full volume - on his cell/ speaker on. I turned around and asked him if he could turn down the volume and he called me every horrible name you can imagine. My waitress was traumatized. I asked to speak to the manager - Harold Ginsburg - and, instead of doing the right thing and telling this man he can’t talk to another customer that way … Harold decided to take the very low road and said he couldn’t do a thing about it and that I needed to leave. I am so so sick and tired of weak men who choose to take the side of someone who was clearly out of line and, instead, punish the women who are speaking up against verbal abuse. Shame on you Harold.
Very Disappointed. Corned Beef was not lean. It was very fatty. Matzo Ball soup was cold With dark meat chicken. If you get half sandwich and soup. Beware- $2.50 Up charge for Matzo Ball soup. Never Again
It's heartbreaking when a place that's literally PART OF YOUR CHILDHOOD... no longer is even a SHADOW of what it once was. To age myself (but mostly - to give this review perspective and accountability) - my GRANDMOTHER used to take us here when young. It was warm, full of life (TV stars hanging out between shoots at the Radford Studios) - what more could a kid ask for? As a young adult, working at CBS, we would jet over here for a quick lunch - fun, generous, and while not NY Deli standards - as close as you were gonna get in La La Land. You didn't mind the prices were steeper and sometimes you waited for a booth. Somewhere before Covid and today - IT LOST ITS SOUL. Today was the nail in the coffin. I had a rare Saturday to myself - errands, work, and JUST enough time to squeeze in lunch. Plugged a parking meter for an hour, walked in (this was 3 PM, plenty of booths open). The young gal at the front looked bored and was staring at her phone, and a young man next to her was speaking spanish to a customer on the phone. The gal waved at the room while texting her cel (SERIOUSLY??) - a rude, NON-WELCOME. The implication was 'seat myself'. And she's GETTING PAID...?? Okay. Take a seat. 8 minutes later, a male server with a beard wanders over to take my order. I place it. He is confused. Apparently, what I've ordered 95 times at ART'S is no longer on the menu. But it's not a delicacy, only 2 (different) HALF SANDWICHES. I offer to pay for the FULL, more expensive sandwich, and just modify. He's STUMPED. He goes to the cashier and I watch 3 dumbfounded young staff stare at each other. He wanders back after stopping to take a 5-minute order from a table of 4 that hasn't decided what they want - he could care less I've been waiting 15 minutes in a mostly-empty restaurant. Now I only have about 40 minutes for lunch. He states he cannot figure out how to order this. I ask if the manager is around - he wanders away. Eventually Roberta (not the owner any longer - apparently she sold her interest to her Brother or now owns but no longer works there) knows IMMEDIATELY what to do. She assures me to place the order with my Server, and she'll 'take care of it'. Now we're at the 20 minute mark, but okay. He's hanging out entering another order and staring at the screen. I GET UP, walk across the restaurant, and tell him "ROBERTA SAID TO JUST ENTER A TUNA, but to take my order manually and she'll handle it'." FOR A 3rD TIME with this 'SERVER' I say the simple order. Half tuna. Half swiss cheese. Lettuce. Coleslaw. THAT'S IT. I watch him scrawl this down. He asks "No tomatoes?". NO. Just lettuce. He walks towards the counter to order it... I head to my booth. Realizing it'll be 5-10 minutes to be made, I leave keys, prescription glasses, jacket, magazine on the table, so they know I'm still here, go to the restroom. In there bout 8 minutes. I come out. 2 minutes later... a female, short hair, age 50ish comes over and ASKS WHAT I'D LIKE TO ORDER. ??! Now I'm PISSED. I've been in there OVER 35 MINUTES - 6 tables out of 50 used - those who came in after me eating- and I am STARTING OVER?? I tell the Server my order was already taken 4 TIMES - she says, "I got back from my break, I'm gonna take over". I say my order was already IN - waiting over 35 minutes... SHE RUDELY INTERRUPTS ME TO LIE: "We didn't know if you were coming back, so he didn't put the order in." "My glasses are on the table, CAR KEYES, a magazine and down jacket... you didn't know if I was here??" She realizes she's been caught - so she LEAVES!! I walk to the front, ask for Roberta, and tell her: THIS WAS MY LUNCH BREAK. I've spent it with incompetent wait-staff who after 45 MINUTES HAVEN'T GOTTEN A SIMPLE ORDER DONE despite ordering 4 TIMES, with 8 customers total. No food, no time to eat now, and SAD. She offers make my lunch to go, and 10 minutes later - exactly an hour - I race back to work. For the record ONE SANDWICH, no drink, $32. Half tuna, half cheese. No sides. Plus parking. NOT WORTH IT. AND THEY DO NOT CARE.
I hate places that rely on their reputation as an 'icon'. The take out service server was so rude, so dismissive, and so totally disinterested in my order, I should really have just left. But I was hungry so put up with it. Bad choice. $60 for 2 take out bagels - I'll pay these stupid prices if you treat me respectfully, but no bagel is worth that kind of customer service. Art's Deli... sort it out. Sam's Bagels on Larchmont, half the price, better bagel, and the guy always has a smile and a hello.

Very Disappointed. Corned Beef was not lean. It was very fatty. Matzo Ball soup was cold With dark meat chicken. If you get half sandwich and soup. Beware- $2.50 Up charge for Matzo Ball soup. Never Again
