Opiniones de Soleluna Sunnyside
Location, great vibe, attentive, friendly staff, innovative menu and above all delicious food –define a “go to place” for us. We shared a scrumptious lasagna and 2 specials: roasted oyster mushrooms over stracciatella cheese and truffle jest, and, a perfectly prepared red snapper with vegetables, couscous on a bed of cauliflower puree. For dessert a mixed berry crostata. Will return to this local Sunnyside gem.
I've been here twice and had an excellent experience each time. Both occasions were in a celebratory circumstance. I can see why each time I've been there has been a packed house. The menu is fantastic. House made pasta! I will be back here no doubt with company visiting in town to share the delicious food, incredible service, and lovely atmosphere. My most recent experience here was lovely. I had a date night with my partner where we tried a bit of each other's drinks and pasta dishes. My only note is that I wish a maraschino cherry was served with the cocktail I had - which was otherwise fantastic. I recommend SoleLuna to anyone who comes into the neighborhood.
I came to eat here for the first time this past weekend and I will be 100% returning. The parpadelle al funghi was so delicious and tasteful. The service was friendly and helpful.
Great food , amazing atmosphere! Always freshly made with flavorful tastes!
The Gnocchi and cacio e pepe was the best thing I’ve ever tasted!! Our server was very helpful and got the kitchen to make me the cacio e pepe seeing as they only make it every Wednesday, I explained I was visiting and was excited to try it and he made it happen! Didn’t get to take his name down but he was an energetic guy! Thanks for the experience.
I finally checked "SoleLuna" off my list of places to visit! From the moment I walked in, I noticed the place is spotless and comfortable, which is always a great start. I decided to order lasagna, but when I tasted it, I found it a bit salty. So, gathering the courage that only hunger can give, I mentioned it to the manager. His response? "It’s the cheese crusts." And, well, that made perfect sense. Why didn’t I think of that? In the end, I enjoyed my dinner and my drink while pondering the wisdom of cheese crusts and the manager’s expertise. The best part came when we asked for the bill: they brought us a dessert we didn’t order. I asked about it, just to be sure, and they said it was on the house. What a sweet gesture—literally! SoleLuna not only offers great food but also has customer service that makes you feel special. And the best part? This gem is right here in our neighborhood! It’s definitely worth a visit.
We love this place so much! It’s our favorite place to bring visitors, whether they’re just crossing the river from Manhattan or they’re from out of town! The food is always AMAZING - so fresh and flavorful with great specials, and perfect portions! And the service is always fantastic. Easily our top Italian spot in the whole city!
delicious food with great and very attentive service, I highly recommend if in the area to stop by
Met up today with my family visiting from Ireland & we all had the most delicious food & fabulous wine & cocktails, not forgetting to mention the staff who were so lovely & fun, even the customers dining there were friendly. Compliments to the Chef !
I came here along with 4 other of my girlfriends and it was our first time. We were referred by another friend of ours. Our friend was not wrong when she mentioned this place is a really friendly, with a pleasant staff and great taste in food. My friends and I got different options but our favorite were their buttermilk pancakes! ( I promise you won’t find pancakes that taste better than theirs). I enjoyed steak and eggs along a side salad. It was okay in taste but I should have tried their pasta dishes (next time)! What I absolutely loved the most of this place aside from their VERY DELICIOUS AND FRUITFUL Pancakes were their staff. Everyone that served us were super nice, friendly and precautious at the same time! I can’t wait to go back for a pasta dish!!! Anyone looking for a great brunch experience in Sunnyside I recommend this spot!
It's like you're stepping into a restaurant in roma. Everyone is so warm and welcome and great coffee too! best restaurant in New York hands down.
HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT!!!! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve passed this restaurant on my way to J. Van Vliet . Beautiful local gem in LIC. I’m not a fan of Italian food , especially franchised Italian, BUT AUTHENTIC ITALIAN ! I can dig it. This place did not disappoint and on my visit I decided to throw the kitchen a curve ball with my entree of gnocchi, guancale , and shrimp ( THANK YOU FOR ACCOMMODATING THE REQUEST) . I was amazing and before I even took a bit 2 people asked me what I ordered because it smelled so good. The drinks were nice too. I had the sangria , which is a happy hour special , and 2 complimentary shots of the strongest lemoncello. I ended my dinner with dessert (I can’t remember the name but I will post the picture) but it was very delicious. I will definitely be back !
I love the staff, he place and the food was perfect. The staff was so nice and also talk Spanish, so effective the time they take to cook it was really faster. The place is calm quiet and respectful for everyone and the food was incredible, I ate also a dessert, but I didn't take a picture, it was the tiramisu and it was soft, the taste was good and the pasta was amazing. I will go back to try new things.
My friends and I, visited this restaurant today after a friend recommendation, tasty food, friendly staff and Jacob was very attentive and friendly. Definitely will be back we live in the neighborhood.
Very excited to find this great spot in my new neighborhood. I’d seen it listed as some of the best Italian food in the neighborhood and it did not disappoint. The pasta was fresh, the service was excellent, and prices were reasonable. It was pretty full so I’m sure it’s a popular neighborhood spot!
Beautiful Italian restaurant. Not your typical Italian fare but with a few modern twists and hip offerings per say. The staff here were incredibly courteous and very helpful when choosing a dish that caters to personal tastes and preferences. My favorite? Get the pancakes! They serve them until 12:30 pm so getting them would be ideal for breakfast or brunch.
Best restaurant in Sunnyside. Get appetizers. You have to try different stuff because it's all so good. All of their pasta is incredible, but the lasagna is a must have (made in individual crock). Dessert: must. Limoncello to finish. I like to order their stuzzichini to go and snack on it at home. The owners are incredibly friendly and give you a personal experience. Speak up if you're in a rush. This place is all about the vibes, and they will let you take your time.
First time at this establishment. My wife had a wonderful time. Lunch was delicious. Service was good. Food was good. If you want a taste of the Mediterranean especially Italian then this is a good restaurant. Reasonably priced as well.
They made the best out of the Post diner spot!! So the food is always great. Lasagna is like it is in Italy. So are other items like the pear ravioli and their gnocchi. It’s cramped and noisy which isn’t a bad thing it’s a sign that they’re so good. I am shocked at how fast I have gotten take out! I have not one complaint about this spot except I wish it were bigger. Staff is friendly and not overbearing. All the food is fresh and wonderful.
Everything at SoleLuna was top notch! My niece graduated from medical school today and they had a table ready on time for 11. The appetizers (cold cuts & cheese) were so tasty! The entrees were surprisingly large portions and the wine and dessert were delicious. The waitstaff went out of their way to make this dinner extra special for us! It was an excellent experience and we are beyond satisfied customers! 😃🍴
Everything was incredible. As a suggested appetizer, “carpaccio de carne” was outstanding. For the main course, the “Gnocchi al Turfato”. Everything was wonderful.
Nice ambiance! fresh delicious pasta! Amazing staff! Not too expensive! Check them out you can’t go wrong!
My girlfriend and I came for lunch and was such a pleasure. We ordered a burger , fatuccini with mushroom, a soup, and tiramisu. Everything was wonderful and I have to say - the tiramisu is truly super delicious!! Highly recommended and this restaurant is so much better than most of the Italian restaurants in the city, and it’s much cheeper too. 12/8/2018 we decided to revisit after a while, and we had a spaghetti and a ravioli, and a appetizer baked mushroom suffle with pecorino ... which was sooooooo amazing. I’m very satisfied and the waiter did a such a great job. The only thing I would say is - I’m glad not many people know this place.
Tiago thank you so much for going above and beyond! Walking in, they sat us and we had a couple of drinks. Italian restaurant with burrata but we didn't get food. THEIR DRINKS were amazing though! I always pick my favorite drink which are margs and they make them really strong. Never watered. Mules are a must try and they gave free shots! Setting at this restaurant was great. Music wasn't too loud, you can hold conversations and they accommodate your needs. Always ask if you're comfortable and are very hospitable. I need to come back and try their port wine.
This is my one of the fav restaurants in sunnyside. They are famous for all Italian dishes including pastas, soups, salads. I love their ambience and food. The servers are very polite and helpful. This time I tried there desserts and coffee and both didn't disappoint me. I definitely recommend this place for a quick bite and dinner. It's right near Queensboro and 40th street.
Found this be chance on Christmas eve and we were so pleased. Delicious food and wine, excellent service and a great atmosphere. We'll be back for sure. Grazie mille!
There is a reason they are packed every single night. The food is great, the people are nice, it feels like a second home in the best way.
amazing !!! my partner and I went for dinner casually and had the best experience. the wait staff was super friendly, food was to die for and ambiance impeccable. we each got a glass of wine, split bruschetta, and ordered pasta dishes for our main course. The food was outstanding and I am so excited to come back!!
I’ve been a local regular here for so many years and i realized i hand l hadn’t left a review for this amazing place. Great staff, AMAZING food! My go-to for years has been the lemon chicken with a tiramisu for dessert. You must try their strawberry caipiroska. You’ll quickly become a regular.
Can’t get enough of this place! While, the menu is small the food is exceptional and the specials always bring exciting new options . We are regulars here and I’m so grateful to the gracious staff who always goes above and beyond to deliver exceptional service. In the event, they are out of a dish. They will always go out of their way to replace it with something exceptional after talking to us about what we should order and I really appreciate that especially after some terrible experiences with other restaurants in the community. Sole Luna is a must try!
This place was very delicious. I went here for my friend’s birthday and it was great. The meatballs in tomato sauce were fantastic. Tasty, good size, moist, with a great tomato sauce. My friend really enjoyed his seafood linguine. And my lasagna. It’s was mostly good. Everything lasted great but two things knocked a star off of that dish perhaps. The cheese on top was not an Italian cheese, not sure what it was, American, cheddar, idk, but it was a little odd. Also, there needed to be a little bit more pasta sheet in there. Many times it was hard to see, feel, and taste the lasagna. The chocolate cake we had was good too. Not the best I’ve ever had, but good enough to satisfy my chocolate cake urge. I also appreciated how they gave us bread and olive oil. Always a winner while we wait for appetizers and dinner.
I don’t think I’d be wrong in saying everyone in the neighborhood loves this place. Myself and my friends ate too fast and had such good service I forgot to take photos of most of the amazing food we had. Which was A LOT. We can never decide so we got about 7 appetizers between four of us. Don’t judge us.... Everyone is always treated like family here and again. The FOOD! The outdoor seating is perfect because of their location. One way street makes it so safe and comfortable. Ask for a wine suggestion and finish with an amazing coffee. Trust me...
Great dinner experience here. I'm hard on Italian food but this place hit the spot. Generous helping of calamari which was cooked and seasoned well. The homemade gnocchi with salmon special was delicious. Staff is above and beyond in the service department. Prices are very reasonable. I look forward to taking visitors here and am happy I found this place in the neighborhood.
The Bartender Tiago is incredible!! His service is exceptional. Attentive and caring. He deserves a raise for all that he does. We are always grateful for all that he does.
Food was exceptional! I highly recommended this hidden gem. It was recommended by a colleague… so my fiancé & I decided to check it out. My fiancé is actually from the Naples region of Italy. He is a true food fanatic, and I must say the food blew us away. Especially the ravioli with the pear filling. Definitely a unique taste! All the pasta is homemade and very tasteful. The atmosphere is very cozy and the gentlemen working there are very kind. Loved hearing them speak Italian, definitely felt authentic.
A splendid eatery with phenomenal food and fair prices. If you find yourself in Sunnyside, and you don't eat here, you're missing out. We started out with the meatballs as an appetizer. Usually I don't go for these since it seems a lot of restaurants order them premade. Not SoleLuna. The meatballs, as well as the sauce, tasted absolutely exquisite, with a well balanced acidity and flavor profile. We then enjoyed the baby spinach with mango salad. Be aware that the salads are larger, so you can definitely share. Then, we had the unique pleasure of eating the cheese and pear ravioli, and Oh. My. Gosh. It was an explosion of flavor. Be sure to cover the ravioli in the sauce that comes with it, you'll thank the chef. Finally, we rounded out with chicken as our secondi. The only critique I could offer is that the mashed potatoes that came with the chicken tasted like Spuds (boxed mashed potatoes), but overall the dish still worked well and was delicious.
I have been meaning to review SoleLuna in Sunnyside for quite some time, and it’s well deserved. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal. They have a great wine selection, and the food is consistently delicious. A strong recommendation for the papperdeli au funghi (mushroom pasta with burrata) — absolutely excellent. Everything we ordered was flavorful and beautifully prepared. The staff is extremely nice and attentive, which makes the experience even better. A wonderful neighborhood Italian spot. Highly recommended
Been going to this restaurant since it opened. The food is always delicious ! I moved outside of sunny-side and I always go back to have their pasta. Always worth the trip. Their pesto, seafood pasta and tiramisu are so good!
My family and I have been coming to SoleLuna for years — it’s one of those rare spots that just feels like home. ❤️ Everything on the menu is incredible (truly, you can’t go wrong), and the food is always made with care. As Sunnyside continues to change, SoleLuna somehow manages to capture both the old charm and the new energy of the neighborhood. It’s not just a restaurant — it’s part of the community, and one of the reasons we love living here. Highly, highly recommend. 🍝🍷
Highly recommend! One of the best Italian spots I've been to across NYC. Lively ambiance with super yummy food and great staff. Authentic Italian cuisine, and perhaps family / community owned as much of the staff was Italian. We had the mango spinach salad, the ricotta pear ravioli and the pesto fusilli. Finished the meal with a delicious tiramisu.
After a long day- the wife and I decided to grab a late-night snack from Sole DeLuna and amazed is what we are. Finally satisfied. The cheese balls are amazing and the gnocchi to die for. We are going to come back. Although we ordered takeout- next time we will order in. The restaurant although small is very cozy and seems like a nice spot to sit and eat. Manager is nice and easy to talk to. Helped us order and helped us receive our order. Very nice restaurant. We will return. >Review from Marissa and Jack
This is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants I've been to in NYC. It is understated and would be easy to walk by without thinking twice. But after the first meal here my wife and I decided we had to have her birthday dinner here. It was just as incredible the second time. I am genuinely in awe of this place. Amazing hospitality, incredible food. I'm not even a restaurant guy, I generally prefer to cook at home. But, this restaurant cannot leave my mind and taunts me to come back.
I googled for best restaurants in Sunnyside. Soleluna was one of’em. I walked in and sat myself down by a window side. Chelsea offered me the menus and water with a smile. 👍👏‼️ I asked for her recommendations and had Burrata to start with and Papardelle Al Funghi. She made my day-off! Every bite was delish and esp Papardelle was full of flavor. She and Nico stopped by a few times to ask me if I was enjoying!? This calls for hospitality! Attention to details. I chose to have Panna cotta, which she seconded as a very good dessert. It was a home run‼️🫶😋❣️It’s a beautiful room, great ambiance w music. Friendly service. The room was full of energy. This is my new destination for lunch! Kudos to chef/ owner and team 🫵🫡🫶‼️😋😋 luved it. Ty. Best presentations of dishes❣️❣️
Dining at Soleluna was an unforgettable experience, warm, welcoming, and bursting with authentic Italian charm. From the moment we stepped in, the service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about the food they were serving. It’s rare to find a place where hospitality and quality walk so perfectly hand in hand. We were pleasantly surprised to be greeted with free bread, a thoughtful touch, and honestly, not bad at all. A simple start, but it set the tone for what was to come. To begin, we had the Carpaccio di carne, a beautifully presented appetizer of thinly sliced raw filet mignon served with arugula, cherry tomatoes, and shaved Parmigiano. The flavors were bold and rich, though for my personal taste, the dish would’ve been even better without the Parmesan. The meat was already perfectly seasoned, and while the salad on top added freshness, the cheese pushed the saltiness a little too far. Still, a lovely dish with tons of character. The grilled octopus on mashed potatoes was an absolute standout, tender, perfectly grilled, and paired with the creamiest mashed potatoes. It was both rustic and refined, and the seasoning was spot-on. Our main course, the Trofie al pesto, was exceptional. The handmade twisted pasta had the perfect bite, and the basil pesto sauce was fresh, aromatic, and deeply flavorful. You could taste the quality in every forkful, it’s a dish that makes you close your eyes just to savor the moment. To drink, we enjoyed the Lime Caipiriñha a bright, refreshing cocktail made with Cachaça, lime, sugar, and club soda. It was balanced and crisp, a perfect contrast to the richness of the meal. We finished with the pistachio chocolate gelato, which was smooth, decadent, and just the right amount of sweet. The pistachio flavor really came through and paired beautifully with the dark chocolate. Every dish (with the exception of the Parmesan-heavy carpaccio) was perfectly seasoned and flavored, showcasing the kitchen’s skill and respect for good ingredients. If you’re looking for a special night out, this place will not disappoint. We’ll definitely be back.
I can certainly appreciate the authentic Italian cuisine at this establishment as well as the atmosphere. My group felt welcomed by the outstanding staff here and we spent most of the time laughing with the staff while catching up. The pasta is top notch and make sure you ask about the specials before settling on a menu item. Thanks for a great evening.
Recently came with a friend and we both enjoyed it! We'd definitely come back to try more of their dishes! Solid dishes and generous portion sizes. We got the: sotto le stelle salad with chicken - fresh ingredients and generous portion size Faggotini alla valerio - nice hint of sweetness to the filling and the butter and rosemary sauce was so good! This was probably the favorite of the night. Gnocci al tartufo - smelled amazing because of course it did with the truffle oil! It was good but not as good as the faggotini and I was slightly surprised given everyone else's reviews for this dish.
Dinner with friends was great. This place is my friend favorite. Food is excellent, good service and good vibes. We start with a dozen of oysters. Impepata Di Cozze (muzzles) I love the sauce, so taste. Burrata is fresh. Main course we have..... - Pollo: chicken is soft and not dry. - Lamb Chop: I love this dish; lamb is no smell and cooked perfectly. - Pappardelle Ai Funghi: pasta is al dente! We share a bottle of Amarone. Good wine! I will probably come back to try more food. I'm glad my friend introduces me to a good spot.
Blown away by how authentic and delicious this Italian food is. Tasted like my nonna made some of it. I enjoyed the tomato sauce with the squash blossoms, the lobster raviolis were to die for, and the broccoli rabe with white fish was excellent as well. We were stuffed but got tiramisu and it was the first time in a long time that I was telling my wife this is how it tasted as kids. I have to mention the coffee and the beer I had from amorediNapoli because they were great as well. Service was quick with great suggestions. The location is a medium sized nice place for dates and families. I highly recommend and will definitely be returning.
I went to this restaurant just for oysters Monday and the food looked so great that I had to order 3 more dishes. Everything was amazing, the mushroom fettucini was tasteful, the octopus pasta was just on point. They have a small but tasty wine selection at good prices. Don't get full of food and save some space for dessert you're not gonna be disappointed, I'd come back just to try all of them
My new favorite Italian restaurant! I had heard about it but hadn’t gotten around to try it. The food was sooo tasty and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. It made the whole experience that much more enjoyable. Will definitely be coming back on a regular basis and will be spreading the word about this lovely place(:
This is what you want from a local, neighborhood restaurant. Amazing food, friendly service and above all, a great casual ambiance to share with friends and family. Everything we ate here was amazing. From the antipasti, to the main course and ending on dessert, the food was prepared with precision in every bite. Definitely get the rice balls of the day. Always different, you never know what you'll get inside (unless you ask what it is of course!) Must try the faggotini, mini ravioli like pasta stuffed with pear and cheese. It's so good, a friend had to have seconds and ordered one for dessert! Come hungry and preferably with friends, get a bottle of wine and enjoy!
We celebrated our friend's birthday here at this authentic Italian restaurant, and they graciously allowed us to keep the cake (that I had baked) in their kitchen as a surprise! The fried squids we had as appetizers were Goldilocks-like "just right"—not too soft, not too crunchy. The seafood pasta I had was absolutely tasty. The wait staff were friendly; though they did try very hard to dissuade our friend from adding cheese to his tomato-based seafood pasta (hey it's his birthday!).
This was me and my boyfriend's second visit. The gnocchi was by far our favorite. This is during winter but we sat by the door and at times there were people coming in and out which would be cold. But the server was kind enough to treat us w dessert due to this inconvenience. Overall, this place has good food, service, and atmosphere and we would come back again!
Food was alright - the bruschetta with burratta was an outstanding appetizer, but our main courses were okay. The lasagna tasted pretty good but I wish it came on a plate so it would be easier to cut through instead of a bowl as pictured. The gnocchi with chicken was a little bland. Service was a bit slow - the waiter didn't come around to check on us a lot, so we had to physically go up to ask for our check. We also received two rounds of limoncellos and were only charged for one, so we weren't sure if they just accidentally gave us an extra round or if one was already included (which if this was the case they probably should have told us when we ordered it in the first place).
This place has delicious Italian food, very authentic and the staff is very friendly! I went for Sunnyside Restaurant Week 2018 with my friend and had the Sangiovese wine, burrata salad and the Faggotini alla Vallerio. The burrata here is out of this world 😍 and the wine which was a recommendation by the bartender, was delicious and I will be adding it to my fave red wines 🍷👍🏼
My family and I came here to celebrate my brother-in-law’s birthday last weekend. It is a smaller place but there is extra seating outside. Everyone was so friendly and attentive. The drinks were ok and food was good. I ordered the lemon chicken - roasted potatoes were good but a bit too hard. I chalk it up to a busy Friday evening. I do have to say that their tomato sauce was delicious. Give this place a try if you’re in the neighborhood.
Came here at noon for a brunch with my family and we loved everything we ate. The food tasted fresh, the tiramisu was my favorite. Some of the food may be a little under seasoned but it isn’t something a little extra salt and pepper can’t fix. We would definitely come back and would recommend to everyone near the area.
The food was spectacular. I had a lasagna bolognese, and even though it wasn’t served the way I thought it would. It was delicious. I normally never eat salad but the Buratta, Insalata Sotto Le Stelle was both amazing. Limited options for dessert, I’d say go got the tiramisu. A friendly staff with a heavy accent but will get the job done and even more. Atmosphere is bar setting.
First time dining here on New Years Day and probably be the last! Small restaurant! But located right across the 7 line train station. Gas issues for the entired block and therefore having a very limited Menu. Had a Skirt Steak Salad! The portions especially the Steak was very small and expensive! As the Manager knew I wasn't contented they offered us a Dessert and shot of a Lemon drink on the house. Waiters weren't too cleared about their Menu!
Skip the stuffed ricotta squash blossoms. It came out soggy and the only flavor was the ricotta. For mains, I highly recommend the pear ravioli. It was sweet and salty and served in a buttery sauce. The gnocchi is also a skip for me. It cane with melted shredded american cheese? on top and made it too salty. There was also very little truffle flavor.
I went to this Italian restaurant in Sunnyside after seeing a 4.7 rating on Google. However, my opinion is a bit different. Don't be fooled by rating. First, the pasta was below expectations. The flavor of the ingredients wasn't fully apparent. Second, one of the two staff members had a very irritating and unpleasant attitude. Everyone at our table felt as if they were being ignored when taking our order. The only thing that was notable was the coffee. This is definitely not a restaurant I'd return to. New York City is a vast city, and there are so many friendly and delicious Italian restaurants.
the lasagna was disappointing. it was overly salty and the noodles were overcooked and mushy. i usually love lasagna, but i couldn't finish this.
Ordered take out. People at counter were courteous. We've ordered from here before and was not real pleased, figured we give it another try. The food was horrible again tonighr, actually worse than last time. If you are Italian do not go here.. Everything we ordered was horrible. The meatballs were not good, tin tasting, weird burnt rust color. Served with 2 slices of bread that were so hard , even our dog had trouble biting it and she's a pit. Sauce taste burnt and bitter. Ordered arancini balls, mushy, not flavorful, sauce also tasted bitter and burnt. Chicken fingers were over cooked and dry and hard, difficult to bite in to, served with soggy fries. I understand the risk you take with fries, but we picked up, the food was hot. The fries were under cooked. We also ordered a calzone. Barely any of veggies we paid extra for [7.50] . Dough was under cooked and nasty. Ricotta was bland, unseasoned and watery. This is not Italian fare... Nona would not approve. For almost 63, it was so nasty I couldn't give it to the dog...who still didn't eat the bread. Guess we'll settle for pb&j instead for dinner tonight.
