Amazing on every level. It's definitely off the beaten tourist path....but that makes it even more special. Still walkable from the hubbub of Zona Romantica (I walked there and home), but some might prefer a quick Uber ride. Anyway.... I had the Asian cucumber salad, Phô Dumpling soup, Siracha-honey Wings and Creme Brulee....OMG, so good. And...if you sit in the upper area at the back of the restaurant you'll get to enjoy whatever entertainment is playing from the connected and co-owned Casita & Garden venue. I don't remember his name, but my compliments to the young gentleman server... excellent. BTW, most things on the menu are under $15...!

Delicious food, tasty cocktails and excellent service. The potstickers and the Bao buns are the best but everything on the menu is delicious. Bonito is located on the Rio Cuale and has a great dining atmosphere with seating both on the outside terrace and inside. The light filled space along with plants throughout the restaurant creates a comfortable dining experience.

Best meal we’ve had in PV! Every dish was fresh and flavourful. The lycee and passion fruit margaritas were amazing. Highly recommend!

New Location! Indeed same incredible experience! We tried to find good Asian Fusion all over Mexico City and were disappointed. Came home and went straight to the best which is Bonito Kitchen. Phenomenal. We went with dumplings, pot stickers, never had better Bao Buns anywhere, pork belly, kimchi, and Asian donuts with ice cream! Best food around

So I pass this place all the time but don't usually eat other foods besides Mexican when here. But I saw they had baos and I wanted to try. OMG It was so delicious and flavorful!! One of the best meals I've had here in PV. The drink was a delicious change too. They take credit card and all the staff was wonderful. The woman who is the sister of the owner walks around and checks in with each table. Really loved it and sitting outside was nice by the little stream. I should've went sooner! 😋

Un lugar muy «bonito» para comer platillos japoneses

Normalmente voy a Bonito en Tules, pero está vez mi amiga y yo quisimos visitar el bonito de zona romántica. Siempre pido el Tan Tan y la ensalada de mango ( cuando es temporada ) pero la ensalada no la preparan en este restaurante aunque sea temporada lo cual es una pena. El tan tan tenía una consistencia muy líquida como un caldo de pollo, así que lo regrese y la mesera muy amablemente me lo cambio y me comentó que me lo prepararía nuevamente.... Peroooo me lo regresaron y tenía casi la misma consistencia. En fin,ese día aparentemente estaban haciendo modificaciones o correcciones en el menú porque otras personas ya se habían quejado de los alimentos. Este restaurante en zona romántica es rico pero comparado con el de los Tules, me voy por este último. La comida en el bonito de Tules siempre es rica y las bebidas también.

Un lugar maravilloso para comida asiática. El ramen es excelente; de los mejores de México, y el bao de cangrejo estuvo fenomenal. Es un lugar súper recomendable. Cuando vayan no dejen de pedir también los mejillones en salsa thai.

Me lugar favorito para comer en Vallarta que no es de comida mexicana. Buen sabor y textura en sus platillos. Un menú de comida asiática muy completo y la decoración con vegetación hacen que comas muy rico. Si abrieran un poquito más temprano estaría mucho mejor.

Cabe mencionar que llegamos sin reservación y aún así el trato y servicio fueron excelente.

El bao de pork belly es increíble, súper suave y con mucho sabor. Tienen que probarlo. También me encanta el ramen, siempre bien servido y con muy buen sazón. En general, su menú está muy bien pensado, con opciones para todos los gustos. Es un lugar al que siempre quiero volver.

We've been twice now, the first time we didn't have such a great experience. I think its mainly because we didn't understand how the food was supposed to work- lots of smaller dishes that are intended to share. I ordered some curry and after everyone else was done we were told that they were out and would I be OK to substitute another kind, which I did. The food and drinks were great and friends kept recommending it so we went back again with friends. This time we ordered everything to share so we weren't each waiting on specific dishes. We had a fantastic time doing that and we got to try even more of the menu. So if you are up for sharing I highly recommend this place. It has some indoor air conditioned seating, but the patio is really lovely with lots of plants. Also when the venue next door is open you get treated to some live music. You just can't see it. Don't forget to check out the really big banyon/focus tree growing in the street out front.

As a group with 2x Vegans, 1x Coeliac and a norme, Bonito was a good choice. They had a dedicated gluten free menu and some vegan options. Everyone enjoyed their food, the vegans in our group had 2 different Ramens, I; the coeliac, yellow curry. Everyone thought their food was tasty.

If you see all my reviews you will see that I almost don’t rate restaurants with 5 stars unless their food is very good. And I just returned to this restaurant after 2 years of not coming and I would like to say that they have improved so so much, the food was excellent, flavours were very good, very Asian and accurate. I liked this place and the food a lot. I highly recommend it!

The staff here are absolutely incredible. The manager is attentive and so are each of the team on their serving staff. I don’t think I could say enough good things about the food; those pork belly dumplings, the pho dumplings, chicken satay, the tan tan ramen and the wonton soup are simply perfect. It’s a must go in PV. I also love the drinks (lychee martini is unreal). They have live music with great talent as well!

Beautiful restaurant. Patio gardens are peaceful and romantic. Cocktails, creative and well executed. The bar program pairs an Asian flair with the magic of Mexican spirits. Food was delicious. Pho dumplings were meaty and rich. Potstickers, pan fried pork perfection. Biang Biang noodles were toothsome and flavorful. Well worth the visit if you are in Puerto Vallarta’s Romantic Zone.

Love the garden setting. Make sure to reserve a table after 6 so you can get seated there; it’s very relaxing. I enjoyed the gin blueberry lavender drink, yum. The food taste so fresh and unique flavours that I’ll return to next year. I only wish I discovered this place in Zona Romantica sooner…but the Foodie Alert came near to the end of our stay. Oh well, always next year 😃

Such a beautiful restaurant. There are gardens, with flowers and fruit growing in the garden outside. Wanted to do the tasting menu im not sure if they have it, but our waiter didn’t speak English well so we just ordered a bunch of appetizers and drinks. The pork belly dumplings, and fish sauce glazed wings are a must get here. I hope to encounter food that tastes this good in the states. Additionally had a tableside cocktail made that was delicious !

An amazing experience from start to finish. Staff super friendly when you walked in, seated immediately in a beautiful garden! We had two different kinds if dumplings and ramen. Both phenomenal, flavor profile was out of this world.

I loved Bonito. Went the other night with a larger group and got a spot on their beautiful patio. The cocktails were very unique and enjoyable. The passionfruit lemonade apparently was delicious. All the food was very tasty, especially loved the soft shell bao buns, coconut shrimp and the cauliflower dish. The portions are definitely on the smaller side so something to keep in mind when ordering. We didn't realize at first and had to order a second round of food, which worked fine too. Servers were nice, food was pretty timely and the ambience was a+++.

A MUST TRY in PV!! All of the drinks are to die for especially the lemonades. The food is perfectly cooked, has so much flavour, it’s always fresh and they have some unique dishes to try something new. The portions are on the smaller side so I’d recommend ordering a starter & a main or share the tapas! The service is good & quite fast. Inside the restaurant is also done very nice.

*UPDATE* - I’m so glad Bonito Kitchen is back after the original location was washed away 6 months ago during Hurricane Nora. The new locations is in the more local artsy neighbourhood right next to the historical tree. It’s only a short walk from Basilio Badillo. Beautiful open courtyard with live jazz every Thursday. The menu has evolved, more Asian fusion and ramen is a daily feature on the menu. The wonton ramen is super loaded and delicious. *Original review* Great addition to the Asian restaurant scene to zona romantica. I've only tried the small plates, and they were all delicious, great authentic flavours and decent portions. Great ambience by the river and a real cosmopolitan cocktail list like negroni and espresso martini. Will definitely return to try the different entrées and their soup noodles. Just didn't have enough stomach space 😋

The only dish we did not care for and would not recommend is the ahi seared tuna. The consistency did not taste fresh. However, take this with a grain of salt - because I’m from Hawaii, my expectations for raw fish (especially tuna) are extremely high.

This was a nice restaurant to visit. They have two locations. They serve a mix of Asian food and I would say it was above average but not really worthy of 5 stars. We tried many different dishes and they were all good. If you went to a dedicated Asian restaurant, you would get better tasting food.

Ha mejorado mucho, el lugar es agradable y la comida es buena, las porciones son más pequeñas que en otros sitios, la mixología es rica.

Creo que la sucursal de fluvial es mejor en cuanto al sabor de los platillos y también el servicio por parte de la mesera que nos atendió no fue tan bueno, hasta un poco sarcástica y hacía caras al momento de pedirle algo. No regreso a esta sucursal.

I recently visited Bonito Kitchen & Bar and unfortunately, my experience was a mixed one. The food was absolutely amazing, with a wide variety of delicious options and expertly prepared. The flavors and presentation of the dishes were outstanding and I would highly recommend trying them out. However, the service was not up to par. The servers seemed disorganized and not well coordinated, leading to delays in service and confusion about orders. They also seemed preoccupied and not particularly attentive to the customers. Overall, the food at Bonito Kitchen & Bar is fantastic, but the service was not good and it was a bit of a letdown. I hope that in future visits, the service can be improved so that the overall dining experience can match the quality of the food.

El servicio fue bueno, muy buena atención siempre atento el mesero. Pedí ramen y estuvo algo salado. Pedí Baos la salsa dejo qué desear. Y el postre, que fueron las donas de taro con helado, tuvimos opiniones encontradas en la mesa, a unos no les gustaron y a otros sí. Fuimos en la Noche y hacía mucho calor afuera, solo había ventiladores pero eran muy pocos.

Not sure what’s the hype of this place ! I was not very impressed about the food at all. When food taste to salty for me it means no taste. I order several dishes , I started with gyoza, very small and deep friend ? Gyoza are either steamed or pan fried on one side only ! The filling was very salty, couldn’t taste the shrimp or pork ! They serve it with soy sauce? A touch of vinegar would have made a big difference. Second dish fresh rice paper spring rolls , they did not have fresh herbs like mint inside or cucumber or carrots. The deeping sauce was horrible ! Maybe hoisin sauce ? With nuts on top ? It’s so easy to make a peanut sauce !!! A few basic ingredients that make these spring rolls stand out. I then order some Korean style kimchi , which was ok ! Very spicy and a bitter taste . The last dish I order was a ramen soup miso based. With pork belly. The pork was very tender and good. The noodles had a very good texture. The broth was very salty. Again when you add to mouth salt you can’t taste enything but the salt. I was not impressed with the food at all. The place’s very cool and has a nice ambiance. They have an outdoor Patio that looks very nice. The service was ok , the waitresses are very nice and sweet, just very busy . The maracuya lemonade with rosemary was delicious.

He ido 4 veces buena atención me encanta el lugar pero la ultima vez me atendieton muy mal pedimos ramen vegetariano y nos dieron con carne de cerdo luego se olvidaron de colocar ingredientes debimos cambiar nuevamente y la verdad la atención fue mala no estuvo atenta y a todo lo que pedía lo hacia de mala manera no me gusto y no me dan ganas de volver de nuevo . Espero traten de solucionar

Demasiados meseros preguntando que ibas a ordenar, aún cuando ya se había hecho la orden, el lugar es agradable, pero la atención muy neutra, no sentí cordialidad por parte del personal. Pedí entre varias cosas una rebanada de pastel que no era del día, seguramente ya tenía sus días en el refrigerador.

This place is a disaster. Drinks took 43 min. Food took over an 1hr. There was more than 15 min between dishes. 2nd round of drinks took over an hour. Waiters are totally confused. O idea what’s on the menu. We got other peoples food. Didn’t get our food. Never have I experienced such craziness. Basically the kitchen is too small for the number of tables…

El lugar estaba completamente lleno, me comentaron que la espera era de aproximadamente 40 minutos, decidí esperar por que me recomendaron mucho este lugar, me pidieron mi número telefónico para ponerse en contacto conmigo en cuanto tuvieran espacio, además incluyeron mi nombre en la lista de espera, pasaron HORAS y jamás recibí la llamada, volví al establecimiento y al parecer pasaron completamente por alto mi espera.

El lugar esta muy bonito, el servicio quedé decepcionada, le ponen mucha atención a los extranjeros, no nos ponían atención (tal vez porque éramos mexicanos) tardaron en mandarnos la cuenta(20min.) ya que la pedimos dos veces, muy decepcionante.

Pésimo servicio,solo 1 mesa y no pudieron atenderme,que estaban haciendo los meseros,nada!!PESIMO!

Fui el día de ayer por mi cumpleaños y se olvidaron de mi comida. Trajeron todos los platos incluso el postre que indicamos lo trajeran hasta el final menos mi plato de comida. Tres veces pregunté por qué trataba tanto y era por que se pusieron a hacerlo a último momento.
