This was our go-to spot during our visit to Tulum. We ate and drank here several times and each time, the experience was so pleasant. The service was excellent (thank you Ulisis) and very personalized! The manager, Juan Carlos came to us on our first day, greeted us, and gave us several recommendations for our trip. We tried most of the smoothies and breakfast items here and all plates were so flavorful! The goat cheese omelette and tacos were my favorite plates (in addition to the pancakes) and the papaya and cacao smoothies were our favorites.

Amazing drinks, food and service. We had a huge group for NYE dinner there and it was beautiful vibes on the roof top! The guys Gaston & Memo were super nice and helpful! They have beautiful rooms as well... I'll definitely stay there next time I'm in tulum :)

O ar condicionado é portátil, mas o ventilador deu conta. Em Tulum tem muito mosquito, mas as janelas todas têm mosquiteiro e usamos repelente a viagem toda. No jantar fomos no rooftop que é lindo. Comemos ceviche de entrada, polvo e o drink com o nome da casa. Tudo delicioso. O Café da manhã dá direito a um suco ou smothie, um café e um bowl ou outra opção de sanduíches, panquecas ou ovos. Tudo à sua escolha. Amamos a estadia e o atendimento.

Mamasan is a wonderful cozy place on the strip of tulum beach. Has great food, amazing drinks and cocktails, and most importantly staff that makes you feel so comfortable and at home. If you want a chilling night on a rooftop in an jungle atmosphere and still feel the sea wind, this is your place. I loved the staff and the vibes there. Plz try it!

Best drinks we had during our stay in Tulum! The prehispanic margarita is incredible!! The Jungle Bar or Treehouse offers a chilled, laid back environment in comparison with the surrounding bars, and the pricing is reasonable. Be sure to order the cucaracha for an entertaining surprise!!!

Mario was an amazing host and the food was really something special. The cocktails, although very expensive are creative and extremely well done. I’d go back to the rooftop for a great atmosphere and a few cocktails before heading out for the night.

Mamasan is a special place. With only 16 rooms, the staff really gets to know everyone staying there. I had the luck to stay in both a treehouse as well as a cabin (the cool glass domes that you see in the pictures). Both were amazing. The rooms have AC (if you want it) but I opened all my doors in the treehouse and just let the cool jungle breeze come through the mesh. If you have an opportunity to talk to either Carlos in the AM or Carlos in the PM, listen to their recommendations! I gave them my idea of what I was looking for in Tulum and they provided me with all of the spots and more. From an east rental of a scooter, to where to get my Covid test, to what restaurants to go on the beach strip as well as in town. In a place where the nightlife is blowing up, and it seems like more big corporations are coming in, Mamasan is keeping it real with their down to earth, sustainable model of what hotel service should be. I feel like I have several new friends just from staying there 3 nights. Carlos, Carlos, Coco, and Angelo, if you read this, I’m talking about you! Thank you 🙏

Very nice room on the top. No view over the trees, just straight into it, but it had such a relaxed vibe. No idea if it was temporary, but you could hear noise from a generator all day and night, so if you sleep light, it's not a good place, but the room is amazing.

Lugar rico y saludable. No sirven bebidas comerciales, pero tienen ricas limonadas y jugos naturales. Los platos son excelentes y de buen tamaño. Tienen un menú exclusivamente Vegano. No perderse la tarta de coco!

Excelente atencion, probe unos tacos de pescado y un smoothie de fresa y estaba todo muy rico. El precio un poco alto pero tiene buena ubicacion, una bonita terraza y buena musica.

I went to Mamasan twice during my stay in Tulum and can definitely recommend it. The food is great and fairly priced for the area. Jimmy was incredibly welcoming and helpful. I tried the shrimp tacos which were among my favorite tacos I had in Mexico. The catch of the day was tender and fresh. Their rooftop is beautiful by night and by day, the downstairs is a nice shady area to chill and enjoy some of their delicious food

Really situated in the best location on the strip IMO. I really enjoyed the unique menu quinoa kale salad appetizer was delicious. As was the entrees we had: shrimp tacos and tropical chicken. For dessert brownie with a avocado ice cream and ginger flan. Super attentive staff, Jimmy was great!! We loved it here. We did stay here on property in one of the treehouse rooms. Wow! What an amazing hidden gem right in the heart of Tulum Beach! My fiancé and I recently stayed at Mamasan for 3 nights on our most recent trip to Tulum. We visit Tulum quite often and decided to stay in 4 different hotels in different parts of the area to get a feel for various locations. We were SO pleased with the location, vibe, staff and overall hotel, we will definitely we coming back! Carlos and Carlos are by far the most accommodating and interesting people that we met on our trip. We truly cannot thank them enough for their hospitality and their genuine kindness. THANK YOU GUYS. You made our trip soooo delightful. Mamasan is on the jungle side of the beach, close by to many restaurants and shops. They have a bar and restaurant right on the street, with a rooftop as well! Mamasan is an interesting place to have a meal, or even just a drink. Elevated 25+ feet above the surrounding area, you get a great view of the top of the low-jungle and the sunset beyond. Drinks are hand-crafted and delicious. We were pleasantly surprised by the delicious food. Overall great place for lunch, dinner, or a cocktail.

What a cool drink menu! Very professionally made drinks at professional drink prices (but fair considering the ingredients and quality), HOWEVER I don't feel there's much booze in them as it took at least 3+ to feel anything, but it's hard to argue with the amazing taste and friendly staff that comes with the place. Don't plan on getting stinko here unless you have deep pockets (should be the slogan for Tulum).

This is a review for the restaurant only. It is a pretty sweet setting with a wonderful view. The bar will serve you whatever you ask for and the food is great, specially breakfast. The staff is really friendly. One downside is that there are plenty of mosquitoes, but you're in the jungle in Mexico... deal with it. They do have vegetarian options but not too many, I ended up eating the same thing two nights in a row since we were staying at Mamasan tree houses and cabins as well.

Nous avons séjourné deux nuits dans cet hôtel. Le personnel est vraiment très aimable. Le restaurant BOn mais un peu chère. Pas d'accès direct sur la plage. Le bruit du ventilateur, des animaux extérieurs ainsi que d'une borne électrique sont assez dérangeant la nuit, il fait très chaud dans les chambres. Très jolie et typique mais pas très confort.

The shower is always problematic, it's hard to adjust the water temperature and the water is on and off most of the time. WiFi is a disgrace to modern technology. It took almost 1 hour for me to write this review. So three stars at most

Nice setting, good food BUT be prepared to pay London City prices for an average meal. Portion sizes are small and cocktails cost more than a meal. Service was slow and rather a disappointing evening overall.

Let’s give this one 3/5 stars for a good reason. The staff was nice - the Ambiente too. But our coconuts where not ready to be served and the coffee was just a regular filter coffee. Not a big deal but for the prices they are asking for - simply too much. Nevertheless- great place to spend some time.

ROOFTOP BAR, NOT WORTH MY MONEY. Honest opinions. Was walking down the strip and me and friends picked this spot. Nice setup and vibe and started off ok with our waiter but shortly after it took a while for our drinks and food and we were starving! The portions we're for a kid and should not have cost that much for our entire meal (I love trying new restaurants). It took forever for the check and there was hardly no one there. Still was hungry after and the drinks taste like juice (wheres the booze) smh save your money for something better. They need to do way better than this.

This review is for the ROOFTOP JUNGLE BAR. Listen, just save your money. It is not worth the cost. It really is like a tapas bar as far as the amount of food you get. Drinks were good quality and the seating up there is a nice vibe. BUT me and a group of 4 friends all were hungry after eating. We spent probably $40 USD per person between our entree and 1 drink. The service was subpar at best. They took awhile to bring our drinks, and they took FOREVER to bring the check. If I was a person who had it in my heart to walk out I would've skipped out on that bill in a heartbeat because there's no reason for them to take that long. The portions were horrible. I ordered the 3 tacos and they are the tiniest set of tacos you can get. Looks nice and tasted decent but I literally felt like I ate bird food. It was so bad that were ended up licking our wounds and going to Dominos after on our drive back to Cancun. Dont give them your business go somewhere else.

Charged us a 15% service fee (tip) on our card after telling us there wasn't one! Lying to us to get a tip is horrible service and stealing. Will never return and don't recommend anyone to, much nicer service staff elsewhere in Tulum.

I had an awful experience, they brought us cokes that were not good, we asked another ones and they force us to pay the first ones. When we said that we will pay for the drinks but don't want to eat, they call the army on the street. Fortunately, the military gave us reason and we left the restaurant. I had one of the worst dinning experiences of my life! It was Saturday night and the restaurant was completely empty. We ordered our drinks and food but the drinks were flat and tasted funny. Therefore we asked for new drinks but the employees said we had to pay for the bad ones! After this, we decided to pay and simply leave. The manager didn't let us leave and he even called the military force! Of course they said we only needed to pay for the drinks...20 minutes of our life and pure humiliation, that's what we have paid for in Mamasan!

AMERICANS BEWARE! I've eaten here a couple times and the food is mediocre at best, you can get exponentially better food across the street. The last time I was there I put in 3 food orders over a 2 hours timeframe as the owner fed us tequila shots due to the hassle and then when we asked where our order was the owner told us the kitchen was closed and they "didn't get our order in". Then he forced us to pay for the "complimentary" shots (which was over $100 USD) and called the police when we disputed the charge. Never going to this restaurant again and I would recommend all non-Spanish speaking individuals to avoid at all cost.

There are many places in Tulum that are worth the $400+ price points, and then others that deceive with beautiful online photos. Unfortunately Mamasan is the latter. Management botched my confirmed booking and had my stay for the incorrect dates, which they never took responsibility for or fixed. The cleaning service of the rooms were missed several days, and could not seem to work a routine to clean midday when we were not there. The AC was not effectively functioning, which is a big deal in a humid jungle environment, and their bike handle bars are loose and broken yet they continued to give them to guests, which in Tulum is incredibly dangerous. You want to like the two Carlos’ managers but their incompetence ultimately is too much for a $400+ stay. Additionally, the worst thing about Mamasan is it is nestled next to a terrible hookah bar called Mambo that plays thumping ghetto rap all night. It was so loud through the paper thin roof thatched huts, we could barely sleep with ear plugs. I would never recommend this place, as it simply does not deliver the serene, tranquil experience it sets out to, and there are so mant alternatives that do. Nomad Hotel, Sanara, Ahau, Coco Tulum to name just a few. Travel well!

They only take cash... tax is also not included with their prices like it is at every other restaurant in Tulum. Was charged a ridiculous amount more for tequila shots than I should have been. Nice atmosphere.

Abbimo fatto colazione qui ed è stata la peggiore di un viaggio di 15 giorni in Messico. Erano disponibili solo 3/4 piatti rispetto a un menù di 15 scelte. Non siamo stati avvertiti subito delle mancanze e abbiamo dovuto chiedere noi cosa fosse disponibile. Inoltre ci hanno spacciato del pane comune come fatto in casa e dato panna acida al posto del burro. Sconsigliatissimo, andate altrove.

Zero stars / the Ac didn’t work mosquitoes everywhere due to standing water place looks like a construction site I upgraded paying more but had to switch room twice due to the air not working the room was 38•c or 109.4•F waited over an hour to try to cool it but both rooms stayed boiling They claim the AC worked but it doesn’t they refused even a partial refund it was unsafe to stay in that sort of heat even though I paid for upgraded view there was no view due to the filthy windows and construction netting over the windows the room was full of bugs and the heat was unbearable yet they still refuse to acknowledge the issue and now want to charge me fees !!! I’ve escalated to my CC company and booking.com this place is not habitable and if you view the reviews they are all old and say the same things - I never complain and didn’t complain here I simply asked to cool the room and send us photo of the room under 25• and we’d come back but they refused to prove the room cooled. Yes the ceiling fan worked but the cooler didn’t have any air coming out in either room - I’m so disappointed I paid over $280for 2 nights now they want to fine me too?? Very unethical at least provide a partial refund… we had to buy another room at 6pm on my birthday last minute since no one can slerp in a hundred degree roo With 500 mosquitoes! Or the crazy nightclub noise what a shame if they invested in prope cooling and sanitation it would be great. My advice ? Ask to view the room in person Prior to booking you’ll run away!
