Wow! This place was amazing! The food and drinks were delicious and presentation was on point. Our waiter was Roger and he made the experience so much better. We will definitely be coming back! The ambience was perfect for a romantic dinner.
Really incredible! The best restaurant in Tulum! The food really honors the concept of bringing traditional Mexican ingredients and cooking traditions in dialogue with contemporary cuisine. Our experience was guided by the excellent attention of our waiter Davi who gave excellent suggestions, explored the context and history of each ingredient and could not have been kinder. The atmosphere is algo gorgeous and relaxing. Could not recommend more and will be back anytime I’m again in Tulum.
Best fine dining in Tulum. Tender carpaccio of beef tongue, juicy medium rare lamb with a flavorful carrot purée and one of the best unique deserts I’ve ever had: Hazelnut & chocolate crumble with passion fruit & guava cream. The manager and service is top notch as well.
Can’t recommend this restaurant enough! Husband and I got the “light” multi course meal for two, and we both agree it was the best food we’ve had in memory. Not only were the courses delicious, but the presentation, great service, and calming atmosphere made it a full culinary experience. In terms of food we had in this area of tulum, this was the best by a long shot. The splurge is well worth it!
I live in Tulum and have gone to so many places but this restaurant is the best. The food was insanely good and so beautiful, our server David was exceptional, and we had just the best time. I would go back 100 times
Ocumare is a must for any Tulum trip! Their seafood is freshly caught, their wine menu has the perfect selection for every option, and their staff is attentive and friendly! If you can get a reservation ahead of time, you should!
A fantastic experience with Roger and the BeTulum team overall.
Fantastically wonderful experience from start to finish. The food was phenomenal and the service divine. Great live music on site this night also.
Amazing service amazing food amazing ambiance takes a while for the food to come
Food was delicious and the staff was awesome!
The best bar service I ever had! Angel was so nice to us .
Everything is perfection here. The food, the cocktails, the environment - it’s all beautiful. The staff are lovely and hugely knowledgeable on every detail.
Carlus and Raul the bartender was amazing. They made amazing drinks and we're awesome! I recommend everyone in tulum to make a stop there. It's worth it!
Noel is an exceptional server, very knowledgeable and detailed! Every single time was like the first! Consistency is truly apparent!
Everything about this place is 5* Really inspiring exquisite food, service and ambiance. Nothing else quite matches up in Tulum.
Excellent food — sophisticated, fresh, and very reasonably priced for such outstanding quality! Truly one of the best restaurants in the entire area. We were warmly welcomed and served by Axel, who was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout the meal.
An amazing dining experience! Food was so unique and spectacular. Drinks were creative and delicious. Our server, David, was exceptional and made our anniversary celebration special. There are quite a few great restaurants in Tulum but this one definitely stands out. Don’t miss it.
I’m a restaurateur, so I know what I’m talking about — I recommend it, 9/10. Elto very good hospitalty
Food was delicious, especially the fried avocado starter. Tony was an amazing server and elevated the whole experience for us! Will definitely be coming back :)
Ocumare served us the best food we’ve had during our entire stay in Tulum. The atmosphere was peaceful and lovely, with running water and greenery all around. We were shocked that there was so much availability given the high end quality of the food, but we loved that because we enjoyed a peaceful meal and had fantastic, attentive service. If you are a foodie and enjoy uniquely creative textures and fresh cuisine, you’ll be very pleased! We don’t often leave room for dessert, but we were so impressed by the other dishes that we had to try both desserts, and they did not disappoint! We’re going back again! (Note: higher price point, and they included tip in the total, which I haven’t seen in Tulum before… usually it is a “suggested” amount). Didn’t bother us, though!
One of our top 3 experiences in Tulum! We found the place to be top notch! Not sure why the restaurant doesn't get more reviews. The presentation, taste and delivery of the food were wonderful! Our servers were there just the right amount of time without being intrusive. The chef did a great job with the dishes, and we could feel different tastes in one bite. Also, bravo to the architect! The place is really well designed with the restaurant integrated into the jungle and allowing place for trees to grow. Highly recommended for a quiet and exquisite evening of fine dining!
Absolutely looooove the food. The food was prepared very well, 5 stars on presentation. This is not a commercialized restaurant if that's what you're looking for go somewhere else but you're missing out on the well seasoned food. It's very authentic and the ambience is very relaxing and natural. I would DEFINITELY come back or recommend. The service is top notch very attentive. If l could have scored higher l would.
My favorite restaurant in the Hotel Zone. Michelin-starred quality. The signature cocktails are wonderful. The service is attentive..
Definitely one of the best Tulum beach restaurants! Not only for those who eats, but also for those who like to taste the food. Wonderful combination of flavors in every dish. Regards to chief!
I recommend this restaurant very good experience and the waiter Elto
This restaurant was amazing and a true experience. Every appetizer and entree was unique. The service was great and the waiter brought out homemade sauces for us to try and explained everything on the menu in great detail. Highly recommend dining here.
Our favorite spot to eat on our Tulum trip. The chipas and roasted carrot mole were amazing. In addition, the lighting in the restaurant wasn’t too dark, the music wasn’t too loud, and the chairs were comfortable.
super food and Service, thank you Elio for your recommondstions
One of our best dining experience in Tulum. The food was absolutely splendid, the service is excellent, very attentive, caring, and professional. When you step in Ocumare you immediately enter in another world. I can only recommend anyone to experience Ocumare!
Probably the best food I had in Tulum. A bit pricey, but worth every penny. Highly recommend the catch of the day. Definitely a place to come back to.
Hubby and I dined here while on vacation. This place was amazing... the service, the food & drinks and the ambience. The staff were attentive from the time you were greeted at the door, and the food was flavorful and perfectly prepared. We would definitely return.
Best place for a coZy night. Fresh food, lot of options gluten free and an amazing live musician. Price is ok and Perfect drinks! Our favourite place for sure (and we have visited almost all around)
Food and cocktails were outstanding. Michelin worthy from a Michelin chef. BUT we were the only ones there… Go soon or you may miss your chance!
Toney is awesome!!! Great service and amazing food!! Wish I didn’t have to leave. Thank you for the warm hospitality. 🩵. Toney rocks!!
Visited the bar. Received great service from Angel, who also made us some excellent cocktails
Excellent on all levels. Chef Eduardo pairs classic regional Mexican cuisine with modern sophistication on par with the best restaurants of NYC. The ambiance is peaceful and romantic with our server Elio attentive to every detail and charming us with his kindness and knowledge of this special cuisine. I will keep it a must for every Tulum visit.
Such a great meal! This restaurant fits right in with the Tulum jungle vibe with its water features, dim lighting and plants… and the food was incredible. Our sever Jorge gave great recommendations (we got them all!). Our favorite was the lamb and the dumplings!
Jorge was our server. He was extraordinary and understanding every detail of every food item and dish and so welcoming and so attentive. He’s So warmly greeted us. Many many thanks. What an outstanding experience to be surrounded by hanging greenery and waterfall behind us on a magical night.
Highly recommend this gem in Tulum! Honestly can’t say enough about this place. Beautiful Intimate space, thoughtful and knowledgeable server George and outstanding food by chef Eduardo! Oh and the cocktails are amazing too!
Really nice gently atmospheric place. Totally delicious food. We were served by Eliu who combined enormous charm with efficiency and humour. Thank you
Refine Mexican food with great flavours Nice vibe and atmosphere Portion on a small side Liked it, will be back
Recommended by our hotel. The food was quite good, especially the pork and the tamale, but the portions were a little small. We were there on the early side - at around 7:30 for dinner - and were the only ones. It started to get busier later on. Fans were great, music was loud for how empty it was. Great option if you’re looking for a solid meal at a not outrageous price.
Beautiful decor, friendly service, inventive tasty food and cocktails, delicious desserts. Bar is inside the restaurant so you're eating too close to drunken people shouting. Place is right on the street not secluded from traffic noise. Street parking.
The music was calm and nice. Food was small portions and on the pricier end. We would’ve left hungry had we not had a late lunch. Food was okay tasting, didn’t like the dessert had some coconut ice cream. The enchiladas were okay along with tacos. Food isn’t toddler/baby friendly.
After having read great comments, I had booked a table for 2 with my daughter. We are food enthusiasts, we love to cook. We were disappointed by the food + and it was way overpriced Sirloin was tough and overpriced (1’200 peso) Tacos (soft shell crab + sweetbreads) were ok but not exceptional.
Ambiance and live music is great. And location is more relaxed/chill than further up the road. Service is friendly but not polished. Food isn’t the best or fresh. Tuna tostada and ceviche tasted very fishy in a bad way - and it was a Saturday night. Guacamole was good. Chicken was fine. Main fish entree was also bad. Very expensive for what it is. I don’t mind expensive restaurants if they’re good. This like Gitano is an overpriced tourist trap. They know you likely won’t be back so it doesn’t matter. I wouldn’t recommend unfortunately.
We walked in at 8:15 PM. It took 15 minutes of waiting at our table before we were given menu's. After additional 60 minutes our welcome stacks were served, and our first servings came just after. One of the dishes ordered had been forgotten. When we received the bill our bottle of wine was charged with MXP 700 more than the price shown on the wine list. During our stay of just over two hours were not on single time approached by a waiter, but we have to wave for one every time we needed service. When we walked in the hostess made a big show about how difficult it would be to find us a table, because we had no reservation. When we left the restaurant around 10:30 PM eight tables which had been vacant upon our arrival was still vacant. Food was nice, but overprized.
The service was respectable but the overall experience was not to par. The presentation was gorgeous, but the food was mediocre and portions were tiny. 5 star prices for 2 star quality.
We have been to Tulum twice this year and have loved every minute with the exception of our reservation at this restaurant this past week and this was supposed to be one of the highlights based on its Michelin status. We had a reservation. We showed up 9 minutes early. The hostess made sure we knew that and seemed bothered by it but she did seat us (we were the only ones there). We began by ordering water and a glass of wine for my wife. The glass they brought was slightly more than a 'taster' at best in terms of quantity, but it was good. After that, they then informed us that they were having an electricity issue and they could only accept cash which was fine but not sure why they waited to tell us that. I walked back to our hotel to get more cash but the whole time I was feeling like we just weren't really welcome (which was so odd in Tulum) and then my wife texted me the same. So, we decided to leave. Our waiter was great, but beyond that, we just could not see staying and wasting a beautiful evening in such an uninviting atmosphere. Fortunately, after that, we found an amazing place that we now love and will recommend to anyone. Loco Tulum!! They know how to treat customers and their food and staff are amazing!!! We literally went there 3 times over our 8 day stay for either lunch or dinner. As a note, if Ocumare is an example of a Micheline restaurant, that's sad. Not sure they get it.
Okay, so we went there for New Year’s Eve since all the other restaurants were closed. It started off okay, but when we wanted to order dessert, they told us the kitchen was closed. Then we asked for coffee, and they said they didn’t have any. When we asked for tea, the waiter again said the kitchen was closed—which was ridiculous. The waiter then said, “I should be home now,” and I responded that it wasn’t our problem if he wanted to leave at 11 PM, etc. He then said, “This is Mexico, and I can do something to you,” essentially threatening us. It was a terrible experience. I would avoid this place at all costs. We spoke to the manager, who admitted, “Yes, he’s not a good man,” and encouraged us to complain to the hotel about him. Seemed like the manager was also scared of him..
