Truly a pleasant place to enjoy excellent traditional Bergamo dishes accompanied by excellent wines... the pizzas are very good with well-leavened dough and excellent quality ingredients.
What can I say? The preparation and ingredients are top-quality. Excellent, perfectly aged salami; creamy, cheesy taragna polenta accompanied by porcini mushrooms, a true explosion of flavor. The Moscato di Scanzo gnocchi are soft and balanced; the casoncelli are richly seasoned yet delicate on the palate. The seafood spaghetti is perfectly cooked and features the quality of the shellfish. All this in a setting I'd describe as picturesque, with customer service and an ambience that seem to come from a bygone era. Worth a visit; we'll be back!
We arrived for lunch by chance, but it turned out to be a wonderful surprise! The atmosphere was quiet, simple, and peaceful, and the staff were friendly. Amina, the waitress, was truly professional and kind, always smiling! The portions were generous and delicious, and I highly recommend them!
We arrived by chance. We ate outside. The place was relaxing. The waiter seemed a bit aloof but then revealed himself to be professional and welcoming. Very good food, quality ingredients.
Everything great!!! Always a great place to dine in and spend some great time with friends and family❣️
Vety good place! Very good food. Owner is amazing person!
Conto adeguato.
Nice, characteristic place in a renovated old building. I ate a pizza there with friends, it was very good!
We ate well, the service was impeccable, and the location was very original.
A great, relaxed atmosphere and a varied menu to suit all tastes. Priority is given to local products, such as the famous Moscato di Scanzo, which is the star of many dishes. The service is courteous and attentive.
I went there for dinner on a Friday night. We were the only customers. I chose it because the dishes were all excellent, and if there had been a few people, the atmosphere would have been pleasant. Still, a good menu at reasonable prices.
A positive experience. The restaurant is reached via a moderate climb and has ample parking. It occupies part of the castle once used by the Bishops of Bergamo, who spent their summers here. In this season, you can sit outside, enjoying a beautiful view and, above all, spectacular sunsets. Professional service, local food (the Vescovado salami, polenta, and mushrooms are excellent!), and competitive prices. The atmosphere is elegant and relaxing (too bad about the mosquitoes! I suggest the management place repellent outside between the tables: citronella candles?).
I'm giving it three stars only because of the restaurant's potential. A little more expertise in the kitchen and service would make it much better.
Visited on a weekday evening for dinner, very friendly staff and decent menu. I used the restaurant but the pizzeria was also available. The house appetizer was good with local cured meats, shame about my dish that wasn't particularly successful. I'll be back to try the pizzas that looked inviting to me. Dated environment, typical 80s reception restaurant.
A very nice place, high up but not too high, it takes you out of the city. The restaurant is old-fashioned, perhaps 1980s, which I personally don't mind. The dining room is really large, with exposed wooden beams and comfortable sofas. Unfortunately, I have to say, they weren't spotlessly clean, even with crumbs—I think it was an oversight rather than a habit. The bathrooms were very clean. Let's move on to the food... the antipasto del Vescovado, exceptional salami, and vegetable omelette too. The rest of the food was average, I'd say. In the center was a julienne of zucchini and perhaps eggplant, loaded with garlic. Gnocchi with Taleggio cheese and Speck, very soft, with lots of cream, Taleggio cheese and Speck in abundance. The Casonsei alla Bergamasca were truly seasoned to perfection, with crispy pancetta and sage, beautifully soft, and a filling with a rather sweet note that I'm not crazy about, but was mitigated by the seasoning. Red wine braised with taragna polenta, the meat was super tender and nice and fatty, just the way I like it. Otherwise, I didn't like it. Extremely salty, the sauce tasted like a grainy brown stock and I couldn't taste the wine. The polenta had a burnt aftertaste and was definitely not taragna. For €17.50, I'm a bit disappointed. The profiteroles and tiramisu were definitely positives. The bulk wine, I'm afraid, was watery and very high in alcohol, which I found unpleasant. We spent €70 for two, which I'd say was reasonable. The service was quick, discreet, and very professional.
The place is definitely the TOP, shame about everything else... horrible food and pizza, the risotto and Moscato can be seen with binoculars and the owners are not very friendly especially the pizza chef who thinks he is the King of pizzas when in reality any kebab seller is better than him... also I happened to witness scenes of arguments between them, I think they are brothers or in any case relatives... icing on the cake the price is very high.
