Was there for a brunch to their sister property on top.We received bad service and was leaving disappointed and was stopped by Ashley and Donavan. They asked why was we leaving so soon. After a 5 minute conversation with them both they turned my day around. Thank you
Went here for a date and we had a fantastic time. The atmosphere is great, and DJ did an amazing job of showing us the ropes and enhancing our experience. At $30 pp for an hour, this was comparable to bowling, and more fun (in my opinion). Overall a great time, and I'm planning on bringing my friend group around.
Had a fun time celebrating a few birthdays rented the den and did some axe throwing. Mohammed was very accommodating with our party and Orlando did a fantastic job explaining how everything worked 10/10 would go again.
We hosted a team building event here and it was amazing! Tracia and her team were so friendly and fun. Our team members had a blast. The food was good, music hyped everyone up, and the staff were attentive and provided excellent service. I highly recommend Kick Axe Throwing and Throw Social for any memorable event or just a great night out.
Very adult but relaxed lodge like atmosphere with great staff. An adult play room is more of what comes to mind. You can have a bite to eat with adult beverages play UNO with extra large cards, extra large scale Jenga, extra large oversized connect 4 or in there case connect 6. I have been here 3 times already and plan to visit again. Great date night or fun friends get together spot.
This place was SO MUCH FUN. We went for my partners birthday and even tho it was just 2 of us, it was so much fun. Staff was fantastic. We did the axe throwing as well as the nerf. Axe throwing is definitely more fun but it was still fun being able to shoot a bunch of different nerf guns. The interactive games you can play for both are also a fun idea. Definitely adds something extra to everything vs just throwing at a simple target over and over again for an hour. Bar was great with delicious cocktails. The place was really fun and cool, with a ton of awesome sitting places. You could chill at the bar or other cool seating that also had other games you could play like giant janga or giant connect four. Will definitely be back again!
Met up with a friend for some quality hangout time. The place was pretty empty (Monday afternoon) but the staff were all awesome. We never felt rushed or pressured, and we always had support if we needed it. The axe throwing with projection is pretty fun. We failed at all of em but had a great time!
I had such a blast at Kick Axe Throwing!! There is so much versatility in the space and a whole range of options of things to do!! There’s giant Jenga, a bunch of board games, giant Connect 4, a bar with a host of fantastic cocktails to choose from plus so so much more. The music was also really on point and had me adding a bunch of songs to my playlist!! Of course, there is the axe throwing… Which I 10/10 would recommend doing. We made a reservation on the same day, and were lucky there were slots available!! Before starting we got a 5-10 min tutorial on safety rules and technique with throwing the axe 🪓 , which helped A LOT & also made me super comfortable. I liked the energy a lot — there were a good range of birthdays being celebrated, dates happening, friends hanging out… It was an all round great vibe!! I’m looking forward to going back and maybe grabbing some drinks, food, and playing some jumbo Jenga!!!
I really had a great time here. Came for a staff social event and I was very hesitant about participating at first but who knew I would end up being a pro. That may have helped make this a five star event for me. Here are some takeaways: Environment Large fun filled space - once you walk in there is the a bar and behind the bar is the area where you throw axes. There, they have the throwing area and kind of this bar area for folks who want to hang back and watch their friends or colleagues throw axes. It was really cool space with neat decorations hanging around the area that really inspires the fun nature. Service All the staff were welcoming and friendly. They have staff that give instructions and help out with the axe area. They are full of great energy and made us feel welcome in the space. Food and drinks The drinks were fine - nothing that stood out but got the job done. I can't speak to price because this was a company event so not sure if you get the bang for you buck here. Overall I had a blast. It was a lot of fun to throw axes - who would've known! Would definitely go back.
Quick summary: go for the Rooftop. My office held our holiday outing here on a Thursday evening. We were able to find street parking since it was after 630pm. As we waited for the whole group, we went by the fireplace to play big Jenga. They had other games to pass the time with also. Once everyone arrived and we signed our waivers, Kevin was our instructor and took good care of us. We started at throw 12 and saw behind us the glow option and asked to switch lanes. They were more than accommodating on that night, which I know was because the traffic of people was manageable. Food wise enjoyed the Mac and cheese bites and tacos. There were also wings, chicken nachos, and pig in a blanket we ordered as shareables. Time went quickly since we only had an hour with 8 people. We sat in the den to talk about our year and upcoming holiday plans. We were wrapping up, and I wanted to see the upstairs area. SHOULD'VE STARTED AT THROW SOCIAL. As soon as the elevator hit the second floor, I could hear one of my favorite songs through the elevator door. I was on the dance floor in under a minute and stayed on there for 20 minutes straight. The ladies on my team said we'll make this a ladies' night out stop for sure.
Amazing place to get together with friends. We did a veterans event. They have 10% for military. Make sure to check out both downstairs and upstairs. Didn't get any food. The drinks were way small for a lot of money but a cool spot. I got a axe bullseye. Will def go back! They do have some early happy hours but missed those.
I’m so happy to finally write a positive review. Our experience here was great! From check in to the games. Everyone was inclusive, funny and engaging. My family really enjoyed themselves and I know it’s because of the environment that team created. They all seemed to really enjoy what they do. Our hosts DJ (both of them), were great and made all of us feel included. I even have to shout out the check in guy. He was so funny. He mocked me, but in a funny way that we’re all still talking about. I hope everyone gives this place and the people that work here their credit 👏🏽
Definitely had no clue what to expect when I booked this experience and this place exceeded expectations by far. When you reserve a bay, you are set up with an instructor to teach throwing technique. Once you get used to throwing, there are games to play and keep score. Our instructor Taco went above and beyond to make sure we had a good experience. The waiting area has a lounge and games to play. There’s also a full bar and some food items to order. Throw Social is attached and offers more games, a bar, and music. You can essentially spend the entire evening here and be entertained the entirety of the time. Highly recommend.
Our boss took us for a team outing on a Thursday after work. This place is such a great place to have fun with friends, family, co-workers, or a date night. The atmosphere is welcoming and charmingly chic country and the staff makes it a great time! I hear they have a nice rooftop bar and social area I'll have to check out next time.
I came here for my birthday and had so much fun! The bartenders were nice and the ladies who checked us in, food was good, and drinks were ok for DC. Our instructor Preston was so sweet and cool! He gave us great advice on how to hit the bullseyes and was very patient with my party :) So excited to come back another day!
VISIT THIS PLACE ASAP!!!!! I must say that first! After living in DC for 10 years, I can confidently say this is one of the top spots I've been to for just an all-around amazing time with excellent drinks, outstanding customer service (Andre!!!!) and incredible entertainment! We accidentally went to the wrong spot first (use caution: there's another axe throwing place close by and it's NOTHING like this spot) so we called to say we wouldn't be there the 20 minutes early that they suggest. I do suggest you get there those 20 minutes as you have to sign waivers, get drinks and then listen to instruction. Luckily there was nobody blocked for our lane after us so they were very accommodating and it was no big deal. You will walk in and want to spend several minutes just taking in the scenery. The decor and neon signs are spectacular. It's an IG paradise for sure. I recommend going at least 30-45 minutes early so you can have a drink or 2 first. There are tables and couches and a fireplace to enjoy while you wait. Our axe-throwing guide was Andre and he was SO FUN! He was entertaining and such a joy for the entire group. He also came by nonstop to give us tips and advice on how to throw. I went from not being able to hit any part of the wood to getting the bullseye several times before we left. He would also clean our empty cups from the area and he just ensured our time spent there was absolutely enjoyable. When you're done, GO UPSTAIRS! Do not leave without at least visiting their sister spot (Throw Social) upstairs. You can read my review of that spot next. TIPS: Make sure you are going to Kick Axe and not another spot! Get there early! AT LEAST 20 minutes but to really enjoy it, have a pregame drink and be able to take everything in, I say 45 minutes. We had a group of 5 and it was a good number. I would say 6 is good per booth. More than that, split up and get another booth because this ensures everyone gets plenty of chances to throw.
This was our first visit and we had a great time! I recommend getting there early and arrive a bit before your reservation to maximize your experience. We were lucky to only have 4 of us in a bay the entire time. I can't imagine 8 people from different groups sharing a bay. I couldn't give a five star review for the following reasons: It took FOREVER for my husband's beer to arrive but our cocktail order came in a timely manner 🤔 We were told it was because they only had one bartender. The food menu is limited and just okay. We had tortilla chips with guacamole and salsa (seemed like all store bought?), chicken tacos (chicken had little flavor), and BBQ pork sliders (the best of what we had). I would recommend having drinks and appetizers and having dinner someplace nearby later. Finally, we went upstairs to the Club but we walked out quickly. It is a huge turn off when my shoes stick to the floor. It was only 8:00 and the evening was just getting started so I didn't understand why my shoe stuck to the floor with Every. Step. 😬 Overall, our experience was positive and we are looking forward to coming back. We are thinking about returning for the Drag Queen Mother's Day brunch. Kick 🪓!
Extremely slow bar service, even with only a few customers and three bartenders and a bar back. Why? Not sure. All three seemed to be more interested in talking with each other than greeting and serving the guests. Maybe slow service at the bar is our penance for having a great axe throwing experience. Alex took great care of us, taught us how to throw, and checked on us several times to make sure we were having fun. Get him behind the bar and you'd definitely see the review ratings go up!
Of the axe throwing places I’ve been to this is the worst. Not only did they shove 11 of us on one bay while charging by the hour per person while the next one was empty, but it’s the only place that hasn’t left a probe round to help coach people. A rip off for $38/person
