Went this week to celebrate my birthday 🎂 and had a wonderful time!! From start to finish the service was warm friendly and so detailed, Julio made sure everything was exceptional. Highly recommend for a celebration or restaurant week, was able to try different dishes, great for veggie lovers too (the green beans were a standout). Food was so delicious cant wait to try happy hour. Finished the night with the cotton candy baked Alaska -- wow!! Red carpet treatment for sure, compliments to the chef and team! Thank you!

Victor was the perfect waiter. He attended to our every need and ensured our experience was pleasant. He made wine recommendations for our dinner which paired well with the Peking duck.

This place is great and Julio was our server so special shout out to him! The atmosphere is really nice for a date night, girls night out, special occasion, etc The food was really good. We had the 4-course and was A LOT of food. There was a mix up with the bill, however, it was fixed and the manager came over and explained which was really thoughtful. Kudos to the service of this restaurant. You don't have a lot of these in DC, trust me!

Stopped for drinks and pu pus during happy hour. Delicious. Definitely coming back for dinner here. Second best old fashion i ever had i think. We came back for dinner without a reservation so we sat at the bar. I got the Chilean sea bass. OMG it was so delicious. I saw the branzino and it looked great too. Might try that next time. I didn't care for the hot and sour soup though and most places I love it. The crispy Beef was really good too.

The food was excellent — the soup dumplings and the salt-and-pepper eggplant were truly top-tier. The service from Camilo and Anderson was outstanding and made the experience even better. Great atmosphere, good music, and delicious drinks. I definitely recommend coming here and enjoying a really great time.

During our recent visit to Washington, D.C., my husband and I dined at Philippe Chow on the Wharf. The stylish decor and inviting atmosphere impressed us, and the modern Beijing-inspired cuisine was exceptional. We recommend the Salt & Pepper Calamari, Nine Seasons Spicy Prawns, and Beijing Chicken, along with the delightful Cotton Candy Baked Alaska for dessert. The service at Philippe Chow was exceptional. Our server, Julio P., enhanced our dining experience with his excellent recommendations, friendliness, and attentiveness. He truly excels in his profession. He permitted me to post his photo. To add to the enjoyment, they offer live jazz on Sundays, and we enjoyed Lena Seikaly and her jazz trio, Luis Hernandez (sax), Steve Herberman (guitar), and Blake Meister (bass), whose tight performance added a wonderful ambiance to the evening. For a memorable dining experience that combines delicious food, outstanding service, and live entertainment, Philippe Chow is a must-visit.

I came to Philippe Chow for a girls’ night, and it was absolutely perfect! We did the luxe waterfront 4-course dining and Moët experience, and everything from start to finish was top-notch. Our waiter, Victor, was incredibly attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, and Sadi, the supervisor, checked in to ensure our night was going smoothly. The service was seamless and made us feel truly taken care of. The ambiance was beautiful, the food was delicious, and the overall vibe made for such a fun and memorable night out with my girls. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a special evening!

I had an unforgettable experience at Philippe Chow! I went with friends to celebrate my birthday. The experience was literally nothing short of amazing! From start to finish, the service was top-tier and the atmosphere was amazing. Our waiter, Sebastian, truly made the evening special—he was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. He has the best personality and truly enjoys what he does! The food was exceptional, we had the Moet & Satay which was an amazing experience. Sebastian’s phenomenal service really elevated the night into something truly memorable. I can’t wait to return—highly recommend!

My partner and I stopped by Philippe Chow on the SW waterfront for a quick date night before a nearby play and despite our initial hesitation due to low rating and mixed reviews regarding a decline in food quality and atmosphere, we had a surprisingly great experience. From the moment we walked in, the service stood out. We were seated immediately in a quiet room toward the back perfect for conversation without the usual restaurant noise. A staff member promptly welcomed us and took our water preferences, followed shortly by our server who came to take our drink orders. I opted for the Kiss Of The Dragon Sidecar right up my alley (IYKYK if you follow my reviews). It was so well-made I had to order a second round. For appetizers, the chicken lettuce wraps were a hit: simple, flavorful, and more substantial than expected without being overly filling. My entrée was the Spicy Lobster Noodles with a side of fried vegetable rice. The dish was delicious, with just the right amount of heat. While I would’ve liked a bit more lobster for the price, the flavor didn’t disappoint. The only hiccup came at checkout. Our server took a little longer than expected to return, and the QR code option didn’t work since our bill hadn’t been updated with all our items. This delayed us and made us a little late to our play. Going forward, it would be great if bills were updated in real-time for quicker exits. All in all, I’m glad we gave Philippe Chow a chance. Despite the previous negative reviews, our visit was memorable and enjoyable. I’ll definitely be back next time for something more adventurous, and of course, another sidecar.

Philippe Chow DC delivers on every level—beautiful ambiance, attentive service, and truly standout dishes. The duck was absolutely incredible—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The dumplings were delicate and packed with flavor, and we ended the night with a decadent dessert that tied the whole meal together. A fantastic experience from start to finish. Philippe Chow in DC exceeded our expectations with its exceptional service and delightful cuisine. We were promptly seated upon arrival, and our waiter, Julio, provided attentive and friendly service throughout the evening. We kicked off our meal with unique cocktails the lychee martini with a coconut cream twist and the Passia Florida with a tajin rim both were refreshing and inventive. For appetizers, the hot and sour soup, chicken truffle pot stickers, and dry-aged crispy beef dumplings were all fantastic, with the pot stickers being a standout. For our main courses, the Kung Pao chicken and fried rice were deliciously satisfying. The ambiance was equally impressive, with a perfect view of the boardwalk and marina from our glass seating. Overall, I highly recommend Philippe Chow for its remarkable food, outstanding service, and inviting atmosphere!

When you are lucky enough to dine at Philippe DC, do yourself two favors: 1. Ask for Saron and 2. Order the Lobster Satay and the Cotton Candy Baked Alaska! We delighted in our evening here for a family celebration. The buttery, generous Lobster Satay won star status, with the Shanghai Noodles with filet mignon a close second. On this steamy DC evening, we decided to enjoy seafood entrees: buttery Sea Bass, hearty Red Snapper and smooth and lightly spicy Lobster Noodles. Saron’s skilled food and cocktail recommendations were just what we needed! Her attentive service throughout the evening kept this family meal on track. Her recommendation of the Cotton Candy Baked Alaska was a hit with our little guy and a fun, dramatic finish to a wonderful evening. Thank you for a memorable experience!

The food and service is amazing. Our waiter was very attentive and thoughtful. The atmosphere was nice with live music. I really enjoyed the crispy beef and shanghai noodles.

I enjoyed the Moet and Satay experience with my family. All of the food was good. The experience was a 10. It also felt really good to have Camilo as our waiter. He was exceptionally well with conversation as well as our host. Would come again when I am back in town

First time here! Food was fantastic! Everybody ordered something different so we could all taste. 1) the Duck was so tasty, I enjoyed it with the cauliflower and OMG! (Almost smacked somebody). The steak was beautiful , full of flavor and done to perfection. Somebody ordered the ribs for the table and I was “almost” too full to eat my own food! The only issue which was not a big deal was the atmospheric music. It was a little loud, but I understand why. It wouldn’t keep me from coming back! Oh, I almost forgot, the service was top-notch. My water glass never stood empty!!

I thought the food was good but the duck was over hyped. Good but not to die for. The sesame chicken fried rice and dumplings were solid. The service from Julio P and team was fantastic. We got the baked Alaska and that was great!! They had a really nice jazz band overall a 4.8 for me.

My family came in quite late one night craving dessert and drinks. We were seated promptly By the staff in the bar and provided excellent service by Julio in the dining area. Incredible desserts, and delicious drinks – highly recommend!

I had an excellent dining experience thanks to our server, Julio. He was incredibly attentive, checking in at just the right times without being intrusive, and his recommendations were spot on. Julio clearly knows the menu well and guided us toward some amazing dishes. The food itself was rich in flavor and perfectly prepared,every bite was savory and satisfying. Julio’s warm and helpful service truly elevated the entire experience. I’ll definitely be coming back and will be asking for him again!

Our server Andre was fantastic! My friends arrived before me and were seated. I arrived via Uber but the driver dropped me off in the wrong spot. My friend gave Andre her phone and he directed me to the restaurant and even came outside so I could see him as I got closer. It was my birthday dinner. The service and food exceeded my expectations. Everyone must try the Baked Alaska!

We expected the dishes to be half of the original menu b|c "experience". We loved everything (except the Edamame -- it was super salty) and ended up having to take most of it home b|c it was A LOT!! My favorites from the Menu: -- Duck Spring Rolls, Lobster Wonton Chips, Vegetable Lo Mein, Truffle and Chicken Potstickers and the Sweet and Sour Chicken The drinks were fire and each one hit!! Staff was lovely, they checked in with us but didn't hover, asked us about our experience with discovering and checking into the dining experience. We had such a good time, we forget that we didn't get our bottle of Moët & Chandon for the table. We will definitely be returning for a patio seat!!

Outstanding! The food was artfully presented and so delicious! Julio took great care of us. He and the entire team were so attentive, and to top it all off, the amazing Head Chef AND the General Manager came out to greet us. Can’t wait to come back!

I went for Happy Hour and it was a pretty good happy hour. All cocktails were 10 dollars. The star of the show is def the pornstar martini. On the happy hour menu our favorite food items were the spring rolls and the lettuce wrap I got they with chicken so good! We ended up ordering off of the dinner menu and I got the salt and pepper prawns and my friend got the crispy beef. I wish we had photos of the food but we scarfed it down pretty quickly. The happy was nice we found seating easily at the bar overall 10/10 experience. Our food came out nice and hot. Overall very pleased and I’ll be back again.

Dinner at Philippe Chow at The Wharf absolutely delivered. Alex and Anderson took great care of us and made a busy night feel effortless. We started with the Pacific Old Fashioneds, which were strong and well balanced, and shared vegetable spring rolls, chicken satay, beef satay, and scallion pancakes, all solid starters. Mains were a hit across the board, especially the Chilean sea bass, Beijing chicken, shrimp lo mein, and fried rice. Everything came out hot, paced well, and clearly meant for sharing. We ended with the cotton candy baked Alaska and espresso martinis, which were the perfect over the top finish. Great food, great drinks, and even better service. Alex and Anderson really elevated the experience. Would definitely come back.

Mina was our waitress and she was excellent! She made our family’s Valentine's Day dinner memorable and went the extra mile in getting us the baked Alaska dessert which was not on the menu today. Truly a five star dining experience!

We had an amazing dinner here! The food was incredible. We ordered the pork soup dumplings, the shrimp fried rice and the Crispy Duck and it was enough food for two people. Everything was so fresh, perfectly balanced and the Duck was definitely the star of the night. Victor, our server, was amazing. From the beginning he was very attentive to us, explained the menu and made some great suggestions. Thankfully he’s bilingual (English and Spanish) and it was helpful to us. I definitely recommend it!

We had a great experience at Philippe Chow for Christmas dinner. Our servers, Andre and Anderson were fantastic! They were both attentive and friendly and gave us great service. Food was delicious too - loved the walnut sesame prawns, honey glazed spare ribs, pineapple fried rice and Chilean sea bass. We weren't able to get the cotton candy baked Alaska for the kids so we'll definitely have to come back!

Show me and girls did a reservation for Galentines and to celebrate my birthday, an absolutely amazing experience! Attentive, and amazing customer service. Even with some minor issues, our server informed the manager, and the manager came and talk to us. Very professional and very demure! I rate the experience a 10/10. Definitely will visit again! And music was cute! Just an overall fine dining experience! See you all next time!

I went this year for my birthday and the atmosphere and dining room is beautiful, the wait staff are lovely and very helpful with recommendations! Food was great!!! Definitely love the ribs and wonton soup among other great dishes. We didn’t love the calamari and they brought out their executive chef to discuss feedback on the dish, which I appreciated!! They brought out complimentary rosé for my birthday andddd this really cool cotton candy over ice cream cake dish!!! Loved every minute of it! They truly give a one of a kind experience. The service was some of the best we have ever experienced. It was my dad’s birthday and the staff treated us amazingly. However, for food we ordered the Peking duck for two, which was good but did not meet expectations. I used to live in Beijing, China and had many authentic Peking duck meals. For the price of this place, I was expecting the skin of the duck to be very crispy but it wasn’t at all. It was flavorful and juicy but not crisp. I would suggest coming here to try the duck if you’ve never had it before but I wouldn’t expect it to be the authentic thing from China. Everything else was great, we were served the delicious sauce and authentic duck toppings. We received a complimentary dessert for my dad’s birthday as well!

We had an amazing WEDDING ANNIVERSARY (1.2.3) dining experience at Philippe Chow DC, and our server Camilo C truly elevated the evening with attentive, thoughtful service from start to finish. We started with several appetizers—calamari, shrimp spring rolls, glazed spare ribs, and wonton soup—each one perfectly seasoned, hot, and full of flavor. For drinks, the Midnight Mojito and Don Julio strawberry margarita were well-balanced, refreshing, and crafted beautifully. For our main course, the sesame chicken and crispy beef did not disappoint—crispy, flavorful, and served with great care. To top it all off, dessert was a showstopper: the cotton candy baked Alaska, which was as stunning as it was delicious. Overall, the food was excellent, the presentation was beautiful, and the service was outstanding. Camilo C made us feel welcomed and well taken care of throughout the entire meal. Update: The service is still fabulous & you can tell the front house staff cares. The bar crew can make a good martini. The food needs help. It's the high end of Wharf prices without anything near the quality to match. The bar area is more rowdy and loud than one image from the pictures or the website. It's not a go-to spot for me. If I go back, I would order the pork dumplings again. Philippe Chow's DC Wharf location will definitely be one of our go-to spots. Of course we chose to sit at the bar, and the service on opening night was wonderful. There are so many things on the menu that are a must try. This visit we sampled the steamed dumplings, fried cauliflower (best I've had), lobster satay (so tender), and crispy beef (perfectly cooked & a bit sweet). We're looking forward to being regulars here. Thanks for a fantastic food experience!

Overall, I felt that the price was a bit high for the experience and food quality. From what I hear, this place is supposed to be known for its yummy duck. The person I was with was really looking forward to it and said it was OK. They honestly seemed a bit disappointed. But they did finish their plate so that’s saying something since they usually never finish their food. As a vegetarian, this restaurant is not for me as there’s virtually no good vegetarian options. I ended up getting their vegetable stir fry option and it was just so bland. I understand that vegetarian food is not their focus and that’s totally OK, but I would expect something like that to be better for the price. Also, for the upscale restaurant that it’s supposed to be, the interior design is quite dull. It’s probably a good place to have a very boring business meeting though. The highlight was our server. He was very nice and explained the dishes to my friend who was very clearly excited to be there. He was very attentive and just had a natural warmth to him.

Ordered drinks before dinner. Took a good 30 minutes. Appetizers {egg rolls} were forgotten and our main course was served. We asked that they be taken back to receive the egg rolls. They were good although the crust seemed a bit firm. The main course was cooke fresh so it was not dried out under a heat lamp. They were also good. For what purports to be a high end restaurant, the food while good was disappointing. The service was the downfall. I will not return .

The restaurant is visually beautiful and very clean, but the food was average at best. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken, and it tasted similar to a frozen TV dinner. The service was extremely slow; it took over an hour to receive our food. When dishes were brought out, staff frequently mixed up table orders, and it didn’t seem like tables were served based on when their orders were placed. Overall, the ambiance was nice, but the dining experience did not match the presentation.
