I had such a great experience at The Point DC. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted and had an excellent waitress and attentive servers throughout the night. Everyone was genuinely kind, and the food came out quickly. I started with the mussels and they were so good I had to order another round. That’s how delicious they were. The sushi and sashimi were incredibly fresh, so fresh and flavorful. The seafood risotto was also absolutely delicious, and the cocktails were complex and well crafted. I loved the atmosphere and truly enjoyed every part of the experience. If I’m ever back in DC, I’ll definitely return. Highly recommend.

First time here and it did not disappoint. Came for lunch with zero expectations. We had the option of sitting inside or outside- everyone was friendly. The menu had great options (lots of GF). We settled on the mussels with fries and hubs had wings & ceasar salad. The mussels come in a coconut curry broth that is amazing- good heat with ridiculous flavor. Wings were good too...grilled which us always a bonus! Service was great! Pablo was friendly, attentive & knowledgeable. Parking is a little tricky - ended up finding street parking.

I was visiting from Dallas and my friend recommended this place. I definitely enjoyed all dishes I had here. The staff was very friendly and helpful picking the menu. Low key but modern design and atmosphere. Parking was iffy since I had to pay for parking in the same building w this restaurant. There is free parking across the street but it was raining so I opted to park on the building parking.

My husband and I have been patronizing The Point since their opening some years ago. We have never had a bad meal or experience. Today our server, Ana, was fantastic as she was knowledgeable and attentive. The bread pudding is a must try!

We celebrated my daughter’s birthday at The Point in DC and could not have picked a better place. This beautiful waterfront restaurant set the perfect backdrop for a special occasion and the experience exceeded our expectations from start to finish. The seafood risotto was rich creamy and full of flavor and the mussels were absolutely ridiculously tasty. The broth was unforgettable and so good you did not want to leave a single drop behind. Every bite reflected care quality and thoughtful preparation. The drinks were excellent and expertly made. What truly elevated the experience was the amazing staff. Our server Danielle showed outstanding hospitality and was attentive warm and genuinely welcoming. The host Oscar was equally gracious and professional and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. This was the perfect place to celebrate such a meaningful occasion. We definitely picked the right place in DC and look forward to returning.

If I were a restaurant, I would be The Point D.C. ♥️ effortlessly beautiful, great taste, and unforgettable every time. From the moment you walk in, The Point DC wraps you in stunning décor and a warm, modern ambiance. The lighting, the greenery, the details everything feels intentional and elevated. The service is always attentive without being overbearing, and the staff makes you feel truly welcomed. The wine and cocktail selection is top-tier. The food? Consistently delicious fresh, flavorful, and plated with care. This is the kind of place you bring people you love, because you know the experience is going to be good from start to finish. If you have all-around great taste, The Point D.C. is definitely for you. One of my favorite spots in Washington. 💎

Perfect place for date, business meeting, family events, birthdays, up to daily brunch. Good and easy food for all taste. If you never been here you lost at least a week of your life 💯.

Friendly service and delicious food. Good place for a nice meal out. The Icelandic cod with crab and the seafood risotto were both excellent.

Went to celebrate a birthday with my wife and had two amazing meals! Seafood risotto and friend catfish sandwich. Fresh ingredients and perfect ambience paired with gorgeous weather. Great wine and overall a lovely time. On par with pricing for what you’d expect in that area.

This place was really good. We went on a Saturday evening. Service was promt and proficient. Food was amazing!! Our server even brought free ice cream for my kids. Everything was really good. This is going to be a place I see myself coming to frequently.

I truly enjoyed my dinner here. The food was great. Good atmosphere, the private room and dinner selection was good. No real complaints, just a little miscommunication about the room package however the manager Quentyn came by and clarified everything. Aside from that Steven was our server, made sure the whole party was taken cared of very well. I enjoyed every bit of my experience here. A place I will come back to. Thank you !

Really nice place close to Audi field and the bay. We got several different plates, a drink, and coffee. Our waitress was Jacqueline and she was honestly so welcoming and effective. Food took about 45 minutes. Three meals a coffee and a drink ran us $118~. The restaurant itself has a very upbeat yet chill vibe. We got reservations but there seems to be lots of open tables. The salad with shrimp was to die for, same with the cornbread.

We enjoyed brunch here! We arrived just in time to order and the manager made amends for us to be able to enjoy a delicious meal. I’m only sorry that I didn’t get her name.Everyone was so very kind. We will definitely be going back very soon!

If you’re looking for good food after spending time on the boat. This is your spot. It’s right next to the dock and food is delicious and the staff so friendly. The cornbread is a must it was so soft and the butter that comes with it makes it melt in your mouth. Everything we ordered was great. I definitely recommend this place and will be returning.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Point in D.C., and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience. Nestled on the waterfront, this charming restaurant exceeded my expectations with their delectable seafood offerings. From start to finish, my dining experience at The Point was nothing short of exceptional. As a seafood lover, I was thrilled to find an extensive selection of fresh catches on the menu. The quality and freshness of the seafood were unparalleled. From succulent shrimp to perfectly grilled fish, every bite was a burst of flavor that left me craving more. The ambiance of The Point added to the overall enjoyment of the evening. The restaurant offers stunning waterfront views, creating a picturesque backdrop that enhances the dining experience. The warm and inviting atmosphere made me feel right at home, and the attentive staff added a touch of professionalism that elevated the entire afternoon. Now, let's talk about the bill. With such incredible food and service, I expected the price to reflect the quality, but to my surprise, the bill came out to a reasonable $74.15 after tip. Considering the delightful flavors, generous portion sizes, and the location, this was truly a great value for money. In conclusion, if you find yourself in D.C. and craving delicious seafood, look no further than The Point. Prepare to indulge in a seafood extravaganza that will leave you wanting more. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

Saturday brunch on the Anacostia River. Upscale spot with relaxing environment & very friendly service. Jasmine was our server & we had nothing but enjoyment with our dining experience. I had the Caramel Apple Pancake, which was quite good. Pancake is stuffed with spiced apple & there is a generous supply of caramel butter & maple syrup for topping. It also comes with four strips of crispy bacon. My husband had the cheeseburger, which comes with seasoned fries & coleslaw. He was very satisfied & was accommodated with extra pickles. No parking & most people came by taxi.

The Point saved the day! If you’ve seen my review of Hen Quarter Prime next door, you already know how horrible that experience was—from the service to the food quality and overall execution. After such a disappointment, my friend and I decided to come to The Point, and it was the best decision we made that night. From the moment we walked in, the service was great. The kitchen stays open until 11 PM, so even though we arrived late, we were seated quickly and had no issues ordering food. The pizza? Absolutely amazing—flavorful, fresh, and exactly what we needed after the mess next door. We also ordered two Blackberry Bourbon Smashed Basil cocktails, and they were excellent—perfectly balanced and delicious. Huge shoutout to Derek, our bartender—he was AMAZING! Attentive, friendly, and quick, he made sure our drinks were perfect and that we had a great experience. The pricing was fair, the service was top-tier, and the overall vibe was just what we needed to turn the night around. After a rough start to my Friday night, The Point turned everything around. Huge thank you to Derek and the entire team for the great service, great food, and great drinks. This is how a restaurant should be run!

Awesome experience for my mother's 82nd birthday. Waitress deserves kudos as she took our orders and remembered them without pad and pencil. We was accommodated with patio dining which I requested through reservation. Too a surprise they came out with dessert for her which she was delighted. We were there on 9/21, 7:00 pm. Crab cake sandwich was very tasty and highly recommend. My wife had the papperdelle pasta dish and was delighted. Will definitely return. Thanks again.

The point was on point! The host seated us right away on a Saturday night with no reservation and no issue. Nancy was our server. She was very kind and attentive. The kids meal was a very generous portion and was ended with an ice cream bowl. I enjoyed the crab cake. The slaw gave cabbage’ and the tartar sauce wasn’t my favorite. It was my fault that I lathered my bun with it before tasting it. The tartar sauce made the sandwich sweet instead of savory. The lemon was not enough to cut the sweetness but either way delicious actual crab cake! Ali put the cherry on top of the experience with a pleasant table touch. I will definitely be a regular during my stays on the marina. I would recommend this spot for any occasion!

As hoped…back again and food was fantastic— lobster bisque, calamari, steak sandwich. Service was great! Venue and waterfront view with outdoor seating was very nice. Large Outside bar was nice to sit at. Great location for meal and drink before dc united game. Food…not that good. Burger was decent. Fries not good. Give yourself plenty of time to order food and drinks bec service is slow. As long as you are not in a hurry worth the visit. I’m guessing this place will only get better.

Our class met here on the night before our graduation. I was amazed with the atmosphere and vibe of the place. The highlight of the night was my VERY DELICIOUS Blackened Chicken BLT sandwich. IT WAS AMAZING! I definitely appreciated the good service provided by the server/bartender in the back. She did an amazing job improvising when I wanted a specially made mocktail drink. I am definitely a fan of The Point DC!

Came here for my birthday dinner the other day and the food was pretty good but the atmosphere was even better! The oysters were incredible, the drink was tasty & strong, and the stuffed rockfish entree was pretty good and unique. The service was a bit slow but it didn’t really matter because we were in no rush enjoying the beautiful night and the scenery around us. Our waiter continuously told jokes where it was very unclear as to if he was being serious or joking, it made some people around us uncomfortable… however, overall it was a good experience and I would like to come back!

The food tasted great. I thought the plate presentation could have been better. I had the Trout, several glasses of wine, and a appetizer. I dined alone. I think the skin side should have been down. Good scenery of the water. Overall it was a great visit.

Servers gave great service at The Point DC. I called ahead and made a reservation with Emily, who was super patient and helpful while explaining the different seating options for my party. We sat in the stage area where you can see the name of the restaurant, and the vibes were beautiful with lovely lighting and a great atmosphere right by the water. The variety of food options and reasonable pricing made the experience even better. The manager, Oscar Gomez, was present that night and went above and beyond to make sure our celebration was taken care of—he’s a real G and truly hooked it up. Shoutout to our sweet and kind servers, Austorcia and Danielle. I absolutely loved the people, the food, and the overall experience. This place is the perfect spot for a nice celebration.

Everything about this place was amazing. The aesthetic, the atmosphere, the food, and the service were all stellar. Juan was our server and he had great recommendations through the night. He was attentive and made sure our party was taken care. Our interaction with him alone was enough to make us come back. The food was awesome. I’m looking forward to the day when The Point starts opening for brunch. This would be an amazing brunch spot.

I live in the building and we've been waiting for this spot to open. I attended their first night soft opening tonight and can honestly say it was worth the wait. The restaurant is beautiful; it features modern, high end decor and an ample patio that will be great for summer. As pictured, I had the fish tostadas, the grilled wings, and the blackened shrimp. 1. The tostadas are the perfect starter, especially for spring. Fish was fresh, and the light, zesty flavors perfectly combine to make for the perfect appetizer. 2. The wings were okay. Alone they were bland and I was not a fan of the creamy dip they come with, the pairing seemed off. I asked the waitress for a BBQ sauce and that seemed to do the trick. 3. The blackened shrimp is a must. And I would highly encourage the owners to bottle that peppercorn butter, it was my favorite part of the entire meal and I could see it being a top seller. I also met the GM, Matt. He was welcoming and friendly and so was my waitress. I can tell this place is the perfect fit for our growing Buzzard Point community and I can't wait to visit again. I have no reservations (no pun intended) recommending this restaurant for your next dinner out!

Enjoyed a wonderful brunch! Food was amazing, atmosphere was lovely, and staff was attentive and friendly. We tried the oysters, shrimp and grits, and crab eggs benedict... highly recommend the shrimp and grits 👌🏼

Recently ate here. The staff was very accommodating we were actually late but they were able to move us to a 7:45 slot. They do have valet, I would recommend as the parking is hard they do have a garage but not sure how full it was as there was a game going on too. While we waited we got drinks outside. It was really cute and service was fairly fast. Once we were seated we ordered appetizers: tostadas, jerk wings, oysters, crab donuts, roasted Brussel sprouts, and calamari. Portion sizes are decent and made to share. I would recommend all except the calamari, it was over cooked and too much batter. I would note that the crab donuts were a hit and a table fav. I cannot eat shellfish but everyone loved it. We did express our dislike to our waitress Verta and she was able to take it off our bill. For dinner we ordered the hamburger, unagi sushi roll, spicy tuna sushi roll, tuna/salmon sashimi. All was good and recommend everything. For desert we ordered the banana split and the apple pie. I would definitely not recommend the banana split, it was too many textures and the plating was not appealing. Would recommend a warm/cooked banana and better plating. I would recommend the apple pie, it’s like an apple empanada with cinnamon and sugar on it with ice cream. Our service was great, Verta our waitress was very accommodating and answered all our questions regarding the menu. We will definitely be back once it warms up to sit outside.

Their dishes were all very tasty 😋. Plus enjoyable happy hours. I read an article on washington post that our DC major had her birthday party there. This is a new spot in DC to meet powerful politicians. We did not meet anyone who is powerful, but our bar attendant told us that “ you are the powerful ppl.” 😂

I wanted to take my friend out for dinner for her birthday, so we ended up at The Point D.C. The restaurant is not exactly a place that you would stumble upon, because it is located on a dead-end street, facing the water, so I am thankful that she discovered it. It was our first time there, so I wanted to try as much as possible. (I don't know why I act like I cannot revisit a place, but it's just my thing.) THE FOOD WAS STUPENDOUS. I could have said amazing, fantastic, incredible or "the bomb" but I want you to know just how pleasing the food was to my palate. We started with cocktails. I had the Point Punch. It was made with rum, cognac, Brandy, simple syrup, fresh lemon and a cherry. When I tell you that it gets your attention, it was like the glass said "looka here ... this here drink is for grown folks that appreciate the good stuff, so buckle your seat" ... LOL. My friend ordered a Reposadi Old Fashioned. She enjoyed it, but when it was time for round two, she kindly asked the waitress for The Point Punch. Now let's get to the appetizers. We had the Freshly Shucked Oysters, Fried Brussel Sprouts, Warm Crab Doughnuts and the Ivy City Smoked Fish Board. I am not an oyster person, so all that I can say is that my friend enjoyed each and every one of them. The Crab Doughnuts were very good, but the show stopper was the Ivy City Smoked Fish Board. The fish board consisted of pepper salmon, salmon candy, smoked rainbow trout, great lakes white fish salad, smoked salmon spread, tomato, red onion, chive cream cheese and bagel chips. At this point we were full, but how in the world was I going to come to a place like this and not get dinner. I am a foodie, so that wasn't even an option. For dinner, I had the Ora King Salmon. It was a bit spicy, but very delicious. The salmon sat atop charred baby boy choy, toasted almonds and tamarind curry. My friend ordered the Whole Branzino fish. You can either order it grilled or fried. I couldn't tell you which one she had because it was exactly as described ... whole. The fish still had it's face, with the mouth open. I am going to be honest with you, I haven't evolved to that level yet, but was told that it's the best way to prepare fish, with regard to flavor. The Branzino sat atop tzatziki, arugula salad and crispy falafel. (I apologize for the pics of our dinner. I didn't realize that the setting changed on my phone.) The whole experience was amazing. We ate outside by the water and was able to see the sunset. I recommend this place for any and everyone. It is a bit pricey, but worth every penny. The Point D.C. is located at 2100 2nd Street SW, Washington, DC 20024. It's best to make a reservation. I would hate for you to walk up and not be able to get a table. Check them out and I hope that you enjoy it as much as we did.

Surprised the reviews aren’t higher. Great atmosphere, service, portions, and food, all at a very reasonable price for DC standards. Their fried rice was some of the best out there, as were their half rack of ribs, which were an extremely generous portion. David is the best server!

N

The food was just as yummy as all of the other reviews mentioned (crab cakes were sooo good and fried rice) but the most memorable part of our dinner was how friendly our server Pablo was despite us coming in less than an hour to closing time that night. He was very patient with us and even gave us some insight on what to explore in the area (we are from out of town) and his suggestions made our entire trip to DC really fun so have to give credit where due 10/10 customer service. Will definitely return when back in the area!!

First time coming down to Point and it did not disappoint. Sat at the outside bar and service was great. There was 2 bartenders serving just that bar on a random weeknight so drinks were moving no problem. Food came out quickly and was hot. The general manager even came out to greet everyone and check that quality was upheld. It is pricey, but you won't leave disappointed.

The Point D.C. outstanding service and , you can feel The restaurant offers a perfect blend of modern design, delicious food, and a welcoming environment. The online booking system works smoothly, and the menu is clearly presented with tempting options. Customer service is top-notch, and every visit becomes a memorable dining experience. I highly recommend The Point D.C. to anyone looking for great food, friendly staff, and a beautiful location. Truly an excellent place!

Holiday weekend and wanted to experience something in DC near the water haven't been in DC for awhile.Parking was easy paid Valet $20, place is nice relaxing atmosphere, decided to sit out that was not a good idea small bugs was everywhere. We ordered Roasted Cheapeaske Oysters amazing, order came with 6. Then Calamari my husband loved calamari order them wherever we go..these was cooked to perfection. Got the Grilled Whole red snapper with kale salad- salad was amazing but fish just taste like water.I'm from the Caribbean wish it had more flavor-Order also the seafood Risotto amazing. Service was not good at all. Had to ask for utensils, she never check in to ask if we needed anything only to take the dishes away and bring the check.I will go back again just will sit inside and will like another servicer.

S

On point flavors but off the mark service. The food is simply quite good, but omg the service was annoying. They always come and say “everything okay” at random times but when you actually ask for something the time it takes from them to do it is atrocious. Imagine waiting 8 mins for spoons, 35 mins for food to come out “all at once” and 10 mins for the bill to be paid.

Nice place to chill and watch the sun go down. The food was really good and fresh. The only comment I'll do is that the chicken wings need a lil more salt.

My nephew picked this place for Brunch to celebrate his birthday . The location was nice as it was by the Waterfront Marina in S.W. Washington D.C. There is inside seating and outside seating with fire pits. The Atmosphere and decor was nice. Not Crowded- just right. The hostess seated us right away- our waitress was prompt- and accommodating. Our only issue was the food took a long time coming. The food was presented well and tasty. We had the crab donuts and lobster Bisque as starters- entrees were Chicken and Waffles, Crispy Fried Mississippi Catfish with fries and fresh slaw. The drinks were great- kudos to the Bartender on making our Mimosa and Long Island Icetea. Everyone in our Party committed on their drinks 🍸 🤣 If you are celebrating your birthday- they have a menu card were you can pick a free dessert . The prices are reasonable as all our checks were in the same range. We would go back.

The food is excellent, the interior ambience is excellent, the servers are not attentive. For the price point that you are paying for the meals I expect much better and more attentive waiters. I had to grab someone for refills on waters and sodas. Everything else was great, fix that issue and you shall receive the all mighty 5 STARS! The food was great though lobster bisque was beautiful!

The Point gives Miami/tropical vacation vibes with a nice view of the water from the open air patio and bar. The service is quick and the food is pretty good. We tried mostly appetizers and were satisfied. The crab donuts were our favorite. We also tried the jerk wings, fries and shrimp and grits. For drinks we had the Point Punch and the Blackberry Bourbon, both were potent and delicious.

G
Gregg McClain

Our meals were tasty & enjoyed pretty much by all. Seems the Chef is very basil forward in creating dishes which featured this herb...its even in the drinks! We would have wanted larger portions (for the $$) & ordered our sauces on the side. Although helpful, servers too varied in describing the same dish to us. Service was pleasant, not rushed attentiven, but not hovering & we like that. Our only snafu which the manager apologized for & with a round of drinks was the discovery of a foreign object in our bread bowl. No BIG DEAL but a concern nonetheless. We were told the menu changes every few months so we'll return knowing what we know & try them again.

Nice place, spectacular view .Food was very tasty and the presentation was superb. The staff could be more welcoming and slow service just for drinks. Food came out with hardly any wait time after order was finally placed.

Very spacious! At least one room for private party/dining. Great outdoor space with fire pit. Nice bars inside and out. Menu is limited. Food was tasty. Cocktails weren’t that tasty in my opinion. Bathrooms were clean. Great interior design. Parking garage is $25. Will return.

Incredibly beautiful location! Cannot beat the view and it’s away from the crowds at the wharf and navy yard. Food was good. I especially liked the doughnuts with crab dip. And the smoked fish board was super tasty. I had the whole grilled fish which was very good. I especially liked the chimichurri sauce, even though it was more sweet and less garlicky than I prefer but I didn’t mind trying something new. I like kale salad in genera but I don’t think it’s the right side for the whole fish. The staff weren’t too attentive about clearing away plates though. Very friendly though so I wasn’t mad about it. They have valet for $20 but it was not a game night so I didn’t have trouble finding street parking.

B
Brenna Holmes

The space is gorgeous and massive! Staff could use a bit more training on the menu and seating protocols, but everyone was very friendly. We loved our appetizers, but the entrees could use some refinement. The fish & chips batter was overly salty and doughy, the fries were stale, the BBQ shrimp wasa surprisingly small portion size and the arugula endive salad was overdressed. My medium rare salmon was perfect though, it's great when they honor temperature requests!

Went there for dinner with family last weekend. The atmosphere was really nice. The waitress kept getting lost so we felt like we had to put in extra orders just because we didn't know how long it would be before she came back, and some of the things that we ordered were forgotten or took forever to come like drinks and some appetizers. Then, when our bull came, there were extra items on there that we did not order. My significant other ordered the braised short ribs, and they were not tasty at all. It lacked salt and pepper. The meat itself was very tender, but the flavor was as if that poor cow was traumatized when it died. It was not good. After dinner, we sat at the bar for drinks since it seemed as if the drinks were better getting them directly from the bar than to order them at our table. Since it was my sister's birthday, she ordered a drink. I asked the bartender to give her a shot of whatever the alcohol was in her drink. However, my sister informed me (later) that her shot was nothing but sour mix and chaser! There was absolutely no alcohol in the shot that I paid for! While my stuffed rock fist was tasty, there were too many other inconsistencies that makes me very hesitant to return.

We were a party of 7 and had a reservation. The weather was nice outside and we wanted to be seated on the patio, but no seating was available. We ended up settling for an indoor dining spot with a "view" of the water. Servoce was somewhat slow - they seemed to be understaffed, with our server doing both indoor/outdoor tables. Food was good but nothing spectacular.

Although the atmosphere was great, i must say that within the past years this restaurant has fell off. first visit was spot on in 2024, then i went here for a 2nd time the crab cakes were under cooked, the veggies had shells inside i almost crunched on. server was nice but he wasn't very knowledgeable of the menu. Only good was the drink i had, and nice ambiance.

C
Courtney Johnson

Went for dinner and I had high expectations because the last visit the food and service was amazing. This visit was unfortunately not the same the atmosphere was still good vibes but the food and service was not good at all ordered a little of everything and nothing tasted the same the crab donuts were overcooked. The Shrimp tempura rolls was not as crunchy and fresh. Also the main course Salmon and seafood risotto was not very good. Overall disappointed with this experience.
