El Chicano Restaurant

Can’t go wrong with carne asada burritos. I order a regular to go. The burrito and the chips were good, but the star of the show was the creamy salsa they gave me. It’s hot and has some sweet spices like cinnamon, maybe cardamom. So Good!

Great place to get vegan mexican food when driving late at night down south from the humboldt redwood state park. Most other restaurants were closed after 8pm. This was the one of the few places in willitis that was open after 10pm. We ordered the veggie tacos and ordered the salsa roja and salsa verde enchiladas. The waiter understood our vegan preferences and customized the enchiladas to our needs. He even mentioned that the refried beans are made from canola oil and not lard. The rice was unfortunately cooked with chicken broth, so we opted to substitute it with refried pinto beans instead. They offer free chips and salsa (3 different types + refried pinto beans which was very tasty). They do charge extra for the rice + beans combo (or beans and beans combo in our case) from the enchiladas. Overall, excellent customer service and would definitely visit again if we go through willitis.

We had a lovely time. Great food. Pastor was a bit sweeter than I'm used to but delicious. Had chicken enchiladas suizas, delicious. Pastor Taco. Loved it. Partner had chicken tamales, loved them. We left full and happy.

Every item I ordered (wet burrito and tortilla soup) tasted exceptionally good. Full of flavor and right amount of spice. I would fix a couple of things: the menu was printed on a black paper and a bar area where I was ordering to-go had no lights. I don’t have a superpower to see in the dark. Using a phone light would be quite strange. The server was nice but speak louder, you are the boss! Music (terrible) is yelling, it’s dark and I can’t hear the server, can’t read the menu. But I tipped and left with a delicious food!

Food was EXCELLENT! Mole enchiladas were delicious and flavorful. Chicken was tender white meat in the enchiladas. The Chile Verde enchiladas were also really good! Environment was good and peaceful. Staff were kind and energetic. Pricing was good for alot of food. If your in the area, stop in and have some great Mexican food!

I was not expecting this place in willits. This place was excellent can't wait to go back. Someone told us about this place. Been through this town many times and passed it by. The service was great very friendly and the food was just what I was looking for nice and spicy Mexican food came out hot lot of food I had an enchilada and chile relleno and the chili relleno was great. Don't get me wrong the enchilada was good too. Kind of hard to screw up one of those but chile relleno was fantastic I have had bad ones in other places. Definitely going through willits you must stop it's worth it and the prices were good.

Best al pastor tacos I’ve ever had! We came from our long trip to San Francisco and we’re STARVING. This placed exceeded our expectations. Sizes were HUGE! We loved it and highly recommend it.

Amazing food and service was quick and courteous. One of the best Mexican restaurants for sure. They give complementary chips and salsa like many other places but they give pinto bean paste too which along with the 3 salsas tastes so good. Their entree portions are huge. Everything tasted delicious esp the chicken mole. I requested them to make it spicy and it was on point. We also ordered veggie and chicken fajitas. Everyone loved it. Do stop by at this restaurant when you are in town.

Delicious food at reasonable prices. Loved the chips and salsas especially the refried beans to dip. The chimichanga was fabulous and so were the tacos and burritos, which we unfortunately didn’t take a picture of.

Hands down, best Mexican food I’ve ever had. If you like saucy food, made from scratch, tons of flavor, and authentic, this is the place. Totally impressed by the multiple salsas and bean dip, and fresh chips. The mole was outstanding, my green enchiladas were killer!!! I love that we can choose black beans. The portions were huge! Service was great. Only downside is cash only tips, and we didn’t have any cash!!!! Bring cash!!!

This may not be the best Mole I've ever had, but if you like mole, you're going to walk away happy and full. Possibly with leftovers! Pollo Creama was top shelf as well. My only warning: Cash Only Tipping. You can pay with debit or credit card, but I ended up shorting my poor server because I'd tapped out my cash earlier on my trip. All I had was two fresh $2 bills. Those mean a lot to me, but he deserved more for his service. So when you go, be sure you've a $5 or a $10 for your waiter!!

I always pass through willits instead of by adding the small town to enjoy the charm and it’s been along time since I stopped here to eat and I did with my mother last night and it was delicious! The atmosphere was comfortable, nice big booth seats and great service. My mother got the grilled veggies soft taco, very good. But let me just say the mole is so good! I got the super mole chicken burrito and it was huge and the left overs were even better today. I would absolutely recommend this place and will be back when I pass through again. Thank you for reminding my palette how good door can be!

This restaurant was wonderful! There was an abundance of food served on our plates that was well-seasoned and so very tasty! The service was kind, quick and efficient. They serve beer and wine as well as water for the pups on the patio. It’s a very friendly, tasty stop to make!

I make better omelettes than 100s of places I’ve tried…. this one has been on my mind since having it a month ago. It’s amazing! Chicano omelette with chicken. It’s two meals worth of food and super delicious. The place was almost empty in the morning, not fancy but clean and nice. The server guy was very nice person. I’ll send people here as a destination breakfast.

I'm so happy this was where we stopped during our road trip. I had the crispy taco with rice and beans, and my partner had the enchiladas. Got a mango margaritas that was perfect texture. Partner got a beer 32 oz that was chilled to perfection. This place reminded me of San diego 20 years ago. Pulled chicken was well seasoned. I have absolutely nothing but good vibes for this place. They have clean bathrooms and a colorful atmosphere, and our waitress was sweet and attentive. This will 100% be a place to stop if you're making a road trip and need a good meal. Didn't take long to get our food and drinks. Chips, salsa, and bean dip were offered to us while we wait for entrees. Trust me, this is the go-to pit stop!

Loved the food here. Tried the following items: Veggie Taco: Super tasty! Baby Corn on the taco was super interesting. Broccolini was also roasted perfectly. Refried Pinto and Black beans: Refried Pinto was my favorite and definitely recommend this to everyone. Salsa Verde Enchilada: Wish they’d given more sauce.. nevertheless the taste was very good. Salsa Roja Enchilada: Again tasted so good with all those veggies. Totally recommend.

They know some of us had baratic surgery and others on zepbound and we can't eat adult servings. They allow us to order child's plate. The food is excellent and service is too. You can't go wrong with a good meal there.
