What a fantastic restaurant for lovers of Thai cuisine! The menu offers a diverse selection, so there’s something for everyone. The dishes are not only delicious but also very reasonably priced. I was especially impressed by the Thai iced tea.
Came here for lunch and was blown away with how amazing the noodle soups were. We ordered the 91 and 93 and the portions were huge and delicious. Not sure if the takeout portions are smaller but in restaurant they were substantial. The 93 was spicy, had a variety of pork in various formats and had a very rich broth. Service was quick and restaurant is cozy. Highly recommend!
Simply one of the best thai food in Bay Area.
What can say, I grew up in the area, was raised eating a lot of Asian fare. This an exceptional place, very unique dishes and flavors. No just Pad Thai and Tom Kai Gai. It's no Michelin restaurant, the interior is... a Thai restaurant. The service is perfect and food delicious.
Best thai food I've had in the bay area. I've spent a year in thailand and this is truly authentic thai food. Lovely staff also.
Awesome good with amazing flavors. Loved their Tom Kha Gai soup, Pineapple fried rice, Eggplant (Pad Ma Keur) And Catfish (Pla Dook Prig King)
10/10 fantastic dishes. Truly the best Thai food I've had in my life. I ordered the #111, spicy with shrimp, add onions. It was unbelievable! The fried banana desert and ice cream were heaven sent. Very reasonable prices at $20 a dish. Friendly staff, quick, attentive and accurate. You gotta try this place. No negatives. Seriously one of the best meals I've ever had in my life.
I love the Guay Jubb (but contains pig blood jelly, intestines)! Pretty authentic! Also ordered Khao Kha Moo (pork knuckle rice) and Khao Moo Krub (crispy pork belly and sausage). Very busy when I was there. Need vaccine card to get served. Friendly staff. Will be back for the Guay Jubb!
This place has a legit menu for Thai food and you're not going to find the same items at other Thai restaurants that cater to the American palate. The food is authentic, reminds me of my Thailand food adventures, and is probably the best you can find in the Richmond. My only complaint is that the square noodles in my soup were so soft that most disintegrated and disappeared into my soup. The remaining clumped up together. I did do takeout so this would definitely be a better experience in person. Soup was on point though! Give it a try and try something other than pad thai please. :P
Thai street foods and more! Amphawa reminds me about having street foods in Thailand. Inside the restaurant, the style is simply and tiny, but it is comfortable. We ordered Hoi Jor for appetizer. I had Tom Yum Noodle soup, it was delicious. My friend had Guay Jab, another big flat Nooddle bowl. It was good as well. The waitress is super friendly, she is also the owner, and her husband is a chef. If you like Thai Street foods, here is one of them in SF.
We order the Roti with curry and peanut sauce, the Kao Ka-Prow Moo Krob, and the Green Curry with tofu. Everything was delicious. The restaurant was extremely busy with take out orders, but the staff were still attenyive and kind as they tried to keep up. I will definitely come back again.
If you are seeking authentic Thai cuisine in the Richmond District of San Francisco, consider visiting Amphawa, a charming Thai restaurant. The establishment offers an exceptional menu featuring a diverse range of Thai dishes, from intricate creations to traditional street food. Amphawa’s extensive noodle soup is particularly noteworthy, providing a warm and comforting meal on chilly San Francisco days. The staff is exceptionally friendly, and food is served promptly. Be sure to save room for dessert, as the restaurant’s desserts are highly recommended.
Came at lunch time and there were several tables available. Hibiscus tea was both sour and a bit sweet. Tom kha had canned mushrooms and a good portion of chicken. Pad Thai shrimp was large. Veggie red curry tasted mostly like bamboo. Green bean and chicken with basil was standard.
5 Stars. Had the Crying Tigers and was very impressed. The food was probably one of the best meals I've had in years and the service was great. I will eat here again if I find myself in the area. Compliments to the Chef. Oh, and dessert was great too with the coconut ice cream. Come eat here and be happy. Highly recommend.
This is an incredibly delicious place! There are always a lot of guests, the dishes are prepared very quickly. The soups are simply fabulous.
My favorite Thai restaurant in the SF Bay area. Now I wish the ambience was better. However, the food is spectacular. Even traditional Thai dishes that we’ve all have had, like Pad Thai with shrimp, taste, new and fresh. Something simple as tea is made in a special way that brings joy when sipping.
Amphawa Thai Noodle House offers an authentic Thai dining experience in San Francisco. The Tom Luad Moo provided a comforting start, followed by the flavorful Vermicelli Beef Noodle Soup. The Pad Sator stood out with its unique taste, and the Jasmine Rice complemented each dish perfectly. The staff’s friendliness and professionalism enhanced our visit, making us feel truly welcomed. The cozy ambiance and attentive service reflect the essence of Thai hospitality. Highly recommended for those seeking genuine Thai flavors in the city.
This is our second time here. It was so good last time that we had to drive 1 hr from Lafayette through heavy Saturday afternoon traffic cross the Bay Bridge here. They have tons of menus you can’t find anywhere in one restaurant. What we ordered 👇🏻 tasted so authentically amazing that we really wanted to see the chefs! I love stir-fried dishes, noodle soups and Thai salads here. Find out more what they have, especially if you are Thai looking for authentic foods freshly out of street vendors’ woks!
This is the one of my favorite Thai noodles place to go with family and friends. I love all the Thai food here. The taste is just on point! It has an original taste for Thai like me. Will go there whenever I can ☺️ I can feel like I'm eating some Thai food in Thailand Everytime I come here. The staff lady is friendly and nice. Love it 😊
Incredible Thai food and service. This is my favorite Thai restaurant. Always a good to when in San Francisco.
I heard my friend talking about this restaurant before but never had a chance to come here until today. First impression that I walked in, I saw the waitress (and the owner, I think) and the chef who used to work at my husband's and my all time favorite Thai restaurant in San Francisco Bay Area, Thai House Express (closed now) so I knew the food would be good. And as expected, everything we had there was very good and authentic. I'm glad to find another great and authentic Thai food. We'll come back here again for sure!
Our favorite place for wings! We ordered their food a lot during pandemic. Their wings stay crispy even by the time it reaches home! The sauce for the angel wings is made from scratch so you can't get it anywhere else. Sukothai noodles, pad thai and pad see ew are delicious too. Roti is very crispy and layered. Thai iced tea is solid. Restaurant is clean and server is very kind.
This place was amazing! Probably the best Thai food I’ve had in SF over the past three years or so. I had the fish cakes, the mango salad, and the khao soi. All dishes were really good, but the star was the khao soi (though the mango salad was a close second)! There’s a small amount of broth that’s REALLY rich, thick and flavorful. It’s also pretty sweet, which I liked. The noodles have a really nice bite to them and the rest of the add-ins really make a great dish. I also really liked our server: she definitely cared about the food, was proud of it and was really happy to give recommendations on the dishes. Definitely recommend this place and can’t wait to go back!
This place is really good! There food is top notch. I go here for dinner, and always go for their pad Thai. The second time I went here, I had there Tom yum noodle soup and it was delicious. The 3rd time I had their crispy pork with Chinese sausage (I apologize for not knowing the name of the dish) and it was good! Recommend going here!

We had an epic power outage throughout the city tonight. We trekked towards the lights and found a this oasis in the darkness. They were being overrun by others looking for food and several take out orders. They were nimble, polite, and calm. They handled the rush with such poise, and our food was delectable. We had steamed chicken with garlic rice and curry over noodles. During dessert, the power went out momentarily and the restaurant didn’t skip a beat. The environment was always positive. Make sure to order the fried banana and ice cream!

Whenever I travel away from home, I always search out Thai restaurants that, hopefully, serve authentic Thai cuisine. How do I nose out these places? I ask local Thais where they would go besides their own kitchen to get the best Thai food. Being Thai myself and speaking Thai, I'm hoping that they would give me the real low down. Well, I was directed to Amphawa. It didn't disappoint. Although, not as good as mom's cooking, which no place is, it's pretty darn good. There are dishes you would not find in most Thai restaurants. Unique dishes that I haven't seen elsewhere. For example, the fresh spring rolls (Po Pia Sod) are a rare find. The sauce was both sweet and savory with the nutty undertone that is common with satay sauce. The crunch from the vegetables and the sweetness of the Chinese sausages inside provide a flavor explosion with every bite. Another rate dish is Gow See Mee. This is a Thai twist of Chinese style noodles. I love the fresh bamboo shoots and mushroom in the dish. The gravy was the perfect consistency and reminded me of comfort food. While I wish the noodles were a touch crunchier when the dish was served, the flavor was spot on Add a touch of chili vinegar and it freshens up the dish. I definitely recommend this place and I'm going back to try other dishes before I leave town
Great food! We got a wide variety! Everything was good. It was expensive though. Ended up being about 172 before tip for 6 people. The pineapple fried rice and the chow fun were just okay. The curry was the best. Have to order rice on the side. Parking is hard to find. Seats about 20.
Wide selections of Thai food. They have the real hormok (fish cake) which is unusual for California (usually so unauthentic). They have Kai jiew omelet too, which I love. Feel like eating back in a restaurant in Thailand. Waitresses are so attentive. Food is very quick.
The food looks very pretty and the taste is pretty good. I really liked the spicy pork belly. However the chicken curry was a little bland and the rice wrap spring roll didn’t have much flavor either. All in all, lots of solid items with a few slight misses
Nice little Thai place close to SFO downtown. Pretty busy during weekends but they serve with a smile. The food and drinks were nice. Must try dessert- coconut ice cream.

The food is decent, but their prices and portions are absurd. I paid $18 (including tax, not tip) for a papaya salad. Half of the plate was a garnish of full leaves of cabbage, and the actual salad didn’t even have the best part - the dried shrimp. There are many Thai resteraunts in this area with better prices and flavor
I was excited to try the shrimp paste fried rice here as I heard about it through Reddit however it’s not as good as Ler Ros. I got delivery. It’s got a slight hint of the shrimp paste smell and lacking in flavor. They didn’t skimp on the shrimp which I liked.

Worst tofu I’ve ever eaten! It was in an order for rice with”vegetables” (a piece of onion?) and was hard and tasteless. So,disappointing.
Used to be my favorite place for Thai food, but this time was disappointed... Tried their fish cake, stuffed tiger prawn, green curry shrimp, Tom Yum Gong, Pork rice plate. Fish cake must have been boiled with aged cooking oil, looked very very dark. It had very strong fishy taste and oily. Tiger prawns were stuffed with pork and it was dried and tasteless. The source come with it was salty. Green curry source was kind of on the watery side and was not spicy nor tasty at all. TYG was just salty, not enough sweetness and sourness. Pork rice plate was ok, nothing special. It really ran downhill from the past. Probably changed the ownership. Definitely totally taste different from the past
