Jijime is one of our favorite restaurants in San Francisco. The ramen is exquisite, boneless chicken (honey butter) to die for, wide selection of good beers, amazing service, mellow atmosphere (they often play bossa nova in the restaurant, it's awesome), all perfect. I can’t imagine a better way to spend a rainy weeknight then cozying up with a warm Tonkotsu ramen from Jijime. The most solid of choices for a casual night out for dinner.
We ordered the Spicy Boneless Chicken and the Vegetarian Sizzling Bibimbap. Both the dishes were very flavorful and outstanding. So many vegetarian options. We are definitely coming back to try more dishes.
I recently visited Jijime and wanted to share my experience. This place turned out to be a real gem, especially for Korean cuisine without meat. I tried several dishes, and each one exceeded my expectations. The bibimbap with vegetables and seafood was perfectly balanced, with vibrant ingredients and a delicious sauce. The seafood ramen was simply amazing: a delicate broth, tender noodles, and fresh seafood. What impressed me most was how each dish highlighted the freshness of the ingredients and the perfect balance of spices. The fried tofu with kimchi was a real standout, with its perfect mix of spiciness and umami — ideal for those who enjoy vegetarian cuisine. For dessert, I had the mango panna cotta, which was light and airy, with a natural mango flavor. The staff was very friendly and always ready to help with recommendations. It’s also great that the menu offers vegan options and gluten-free dishes, making it suitable for everyone. The restaurant is perfect for both a light lunch and a more hearty dinner with friends. All dishes are served with attention to detail and quality, leaving only positive impressions. If you love Korean cuisine without meat but with fish and seafood, this place is definitely worth a visit. I’ll definitely be back next time to try something new and just as delicious!
The Korean food here is delicious! They put a twist in it as it is a fusion concept, making it interesting. Parking may be challenging along Geary, but the neighborhood offers a lot of parking spaces. Also, the walk to the restaurant helps your build the appetite. I ordered the bibimbap bowl topped with beef bulgogi. Highly recommend this restaurant.
My husband and I came in here after just walking around the area looking for someplace to eat. first we visited Bluefin to only find out that they open at 5 p.m. so that was a bummer, then we went to Gordo's and discovered that they only had meat for their burritos so that was a no-go. (We are pescatarian-vegan.) Then we happen to walk across the street from Gordo's just a few feet from the stop light, and stumbled onto Jijime. What really grabbed us was the happy hour! visit their Instagram for pics of their food!!!! Tell me to my face that food dont look good, and ill tell you, you a muhfuh lie😂!!!!!! the happy hour menu, I mean just for the sake and the beer alone I was in static shock. Then we looked at their tapas menu; It was everything we could ask for! I mean everything we were able to have, delicious sake wine beer cocktails and small-plates that my husband and I were able to share at a very very very reasonable rate. My husband and I are native San Franciscans! this is what we live for, in our city, to find those hidden gems and this is a city hidden Gem. If you want some happy hour eats from 3 to 6 p.m. please come here and see Hannah shout out to you Hannah because you were very sweet and you served us very well and we were very pleased, you, the cooks, and the food are the reason we are coming back! PSA: to the vegans of San Francisco. Look no more they have a vegan and vegetarian option for their bebambib 😱. Your Welcome 😏. Now I am going to show you below a before pic and there is no after pic because, in the words of my husband, "WE TOOK THAT DOWN!!!" And shout out to the cooks! They threw down! I feel so good after eating their food. The freshness! The ambiance. It was cozy and modern and quaint! Definitely will become a regular!!!! See Ya'll Soon!!!
Love this restaurant go to Korean spot although I have to try more places. Their Soju cocktails are so good. Their prices are reasonable and the portions are large. If can get busy sometimes but the service is usually fast.
Sssssoooo good!!! The food here was so tasty! It was very filling as well with their good portion sizes. The food came out hot and the spices were amazing from the second it hits your tongue to the long great after taste. The prices are good and I would for sure bring a date here.
It's been awhile since I gave a 5 star review but this little hidden gem sure deserved it. I saw this fairly new place a week ago while running errands and stopped by for lunch with a friend today. Since the menu classified the starters as tapas, we were going to order a few and then share a ramen or a sizzling bibimbab. The tapas were large in portions and we couldn't even finish the 4 we order. We thought we were done till they brought out the dessert menu. Seafood Jeon $6.50 Korean savory pancake with mixed seafood 5* This was one of the best dishes, 2 small pancakes perfectly cooked. Crispy and tender at the same time. Boneless Fried Chicken (spicy or soy garlic) $7.50 Bite size Korean style crispy boneless chicken with your choice of flavor 5* Another hit, chicken was cooked to perfection and the sauce was perfectly seasoned. Popcorn Salmon $6 Bite size fried salmon with spicy 4* The salmon was just slightly overcooked for my liking but still divine. Corn Cheese $6 Corn with creamy sauce and cheese on sizzling pan 3* This was average, nothing spectacular. Next time we will order the slicked beef salad instead. I forgot to take a picture of the dessert, the Mango Panna Cotta was definetly a nice touch to end a delicious meal. I gave this restaurant 5 stars because the waitstaff was excellent. Great service with a smile!
Wow this place is amazing. I got their soy garlic chicken with a side of rice and a soft boiled egg. It was so crispy and flavorful!
Jijime was the last restaurant that we visited during our stay in San Francisco and once again, we were not disappointed. We visited for late lunch/dinner. We ordered the Beef Potstickers, my husband had the Bulgogi Plate and I ordered the Chicken Jjim (spicy, pictured). Everything was delicious. The Bulgogi had a delicious sauce that had a hint of sweetness to it. The Chicken Jjim was the perfect level of spice. It had the heat and a complimentary hint of sweetness to it that made you want more. Incredible food. Would highly recommend.
I got the pork belly sizzling bibimbap with extra meat and brown rice. I made the mistake of adding too much sauce, the pork belly seems to be already marinated, so the taste was a bit too much for me. Quality service, relaxing atmosphere. I would rate it 4.5/5 but there isn't a option for it and 4 star seems under rating it.
I tried this restaurant last night with a friend that had been there before and I liked it a lot! It’s small but cozy, with very kind and attentive staff. The food and the jasmine tea were delicious! I especially loved the appetizer with cheesy corn! 👌🏼
Cute, small, cozy restaurant with fast and great service! Must Try Recommendations! Appetizers: Vegetarian potstickers Delicate, crispy and absolutely delicious served with a sour tasty dipping sauce Vegetarian Ramen: Vegetarian Gyoza Ramen (spicy level) Absolutely a must try! Spicy, hot and delicious. More than enough quantity it is a treat! Meat option: Chicken Jjim Yummy soy garlic flavor and tender chicken. Recommend trying it!
My family and I went to this place and we were all blown away by the food and the service. Everything was delicious and we were attended to pretty fast. I got the pork belly buns and the pork belly platter. It came sizzling 🤤 My mom got a tea and the packaging was so cute! It’s dark in there so make sure to leave quickly before you take a nap from the food coma 😆
Always a pleasure to eat here. There are so many delicious options. Favorite Korean food in San Francisco by far. Their bibimbap and ramen are both amazing. Many tapas to also choose from! Also really cute atmosphere and decorations.
Excellent atmosphere and the service was great and the food was mostly good although some dishes could be improved. The kuro ramen was excellent for the price (8/10) but the "spicy" ramen was barely spicy. The okinomiyaki fries were ok but they need more sauce and fewer bonito flakes (6/10). Overall the food was excellent for the price, but maybe skip the appetizers.
Updated review 3/11/2025: Jijime is cozy when it is not crowded. I was picking up piroshkis next door and noticed there were tables available. Last time, my table was right next to someone else's table and the back of my chair against another party. Tonight I had their sizzling Korean short ribs $24. This came with a small bowl of rice and a side salad. The food tasted fine and service was excellent. Original review: Jijime was crowded on a Monday night. Some other restaurants on this block were closed and they might have benefited from the spill over. I had their bulgogi quesadilla $10 and kuro (black garlic) ramen $14. The quesadilla was good, not great. It could have used a small side of kimchi to give it a bit more excitement. The black garlic ramen's broth was lackluster. I could tell they spent some time on it but it was not rich enough. The black garlic oil was weak and I had much better kuro ramen elsewhere in San Francisco and Mountain View. Since the restaurant was busy, the service was adequate. My bill was $30 with tax and tip.
I really wanted to try this place since I saw their great deals for sake. Inside is really cute and clean. It is a bit small, but not crowded. We were seated immediately. We ordered the short ribs, okonomiyaki fries, two beef bibimbap, and the chicken jjim. Of all the dishes, the chicken jjim was our favorite. The chicken and noodles were super tasty. The sauce went well with the bibimbap. I loved the fries and would highly recommend those for an appetizer. The short ribs were a great deal too. I think one downside was that there were no sides/banchan, but that's okay! I loved this place and definitely plan to visit again soon. They have a great happy hour discount on sake. Their menu is pretty extensive and have a great selection of small plates. They're also doing take out for quarantine!
Staff was attentive and checked on us often. They have a nice variety from fried items (super flavorful) and noodle soup (perfect for the kids). I wasn’t a huge fan of the quesadilla though but that’s just me. Everything else was delicious.
Came by around 7:30pm, the day before Thanksgiving and was seated right away. Ordered a yuzu jello alcoholic drink, soju, okonomiyaki fries and the chocolate tarfufo for dessert. The yuzu jello was fun to eat. The fries had the flavors of okonomiyaki, it even came with sliced cabbage at the bottom. Fries were crispy. We came to celebrate a friend’s birthday and the staff brought a birthday candle with the dessert. The chocolate tarfufo is basically chocolate ice cream. What made the night special was the staff. She was very welcoming and sweet. They also have a happy hour menu which looks intriguing.
What a delight! All the dishes were amazing, the staff were super friendly, and the atmosphere was so pleasant. Highly recommend the soy garlic chicken.
A must stop place to eat in San Francisco! Had the chicken with honey crust and seafood ramen. Was a perfect meal on a cool day! The flavors were absolutely stunning! So glad we stopped here!

Freshest veggie ingredients I have eaten in a SF Asian restaurant. I ordered a veggie ramen, the soup had a strong mushroom flavor, and I think the ramen is soy based. The iced tea is black tea and would be a better alternative to the not so great water you get served when seated. The waitress offered me a plastic cup and straw for my ice tea (surprising). The waitress was patient, orderly, and busy since it’s just her. The interior is mostly wooden besides the aluminum chairs. There’s jazz and pop music playing in the background while you’re eating.
The food was pretty good, flavors were there for the most part. The pork belly, while cooked well needed more of the sauce that they put on top. The popcorn pot sticker bites were ok. If you pick half to pick between the chicken karage or the Korean fried chicken, pick the KFC. The KFC was way more tender than the karage, which was harder to chew through. I did enjoy myself, everything was reasonably priced. Service was great and will return but I'll be looking to try other things on the menu.
Came here because a friend raved about the ramen. Came mid day and was disappointed that they were already out of brown rice and the seafood for the seafood ramen. Ended up with the ramen with the truffle oil. Ordered med spice. Extremely tasty and filling. The peach sake was devine as well. A small pitcher is plenty to share. Id definitely come back for ramen if in the area.
Cozy place for korean food Yogurt soju: amazing House made spicy sauce: too sweet
Our group ordered a bunch of appetizers along with our meal. The small plates were better than the mains. The "limited" ramen topped with chicken was forgettable as only the broth was worth noting, not the noodles nor the chicken. The sizzling bibimbap lacked flavor. Not a disappointing dining experience but also nothing to rave about.
Looking for a quick eat and found this little establishment on Geary. The interior decor is modern and the music is jazzy. I feel like I should come here for a glass of whiskey instead of bibimbo and ramen which were actually what we ordered along with Popcorn Salmon. All food tasted good and service was great. And we were in and out under 45 minutes!
I got the gyoza ramen. They don't skimp on any of the ingredients and it came with 8 bite-size gyozas. The portion of the noodles is also generous. I didn't love the texture of the noodles though. They sell a lot of Korean soju bar eats for a reasonable price. It's almost half the price of some bar snacks in the south bay. I really liked the fried seaweed roll! Lots of alcohol options, sake jelly drinks, etc. and have a happy hour on weekdays. The place has a good vibe for drinking with a group of friends.
Korean restaurant which also serve japanese dishes like ramen and Takoyaki. Overall Food is good but I think it is not really authentic Korean dish but good. I think the bim bimbap missing something which I usually have at korean restaurant. Fried salmon us good. Tofu soup is refreshing but I think also missing something. Chicken jjim is good. I wish they torch it. Looks like the most popular dish are bimbimbap and ramen.
Bibimbap flavor was good, though spicy pork was not very spicy. Also, it could have been more food for the price. No free small plates like in other Korean restaurants, so an order of kimchi was extra. However, that maybe just for barbeque places which they don't have.

Keep in mind this is an Asian Fusion spot, so don't expect super authetic Korean or Japanese food. I made a reservation for 8 people ahead of time. They were surely busy. It took 40 minutes for us to receive our food after ordering... I got the Chicken Jjim, which was decent. It lacked a bit of depth in flavor for me... Mainly tasted like soy sauce. The chicken was fairly tender and it paired well with the cheese and veggies. I was shocked to see there were no potatoes in this jjim though!! It also needed a lot more glass noodles. We got the Okonomiyaki Fries too, which were a good appetizer. Similar texture to McDonald's fries! My friends all tried the Sizzling Bibimbap and seemed to really enjoy it! It comes out on an entire cast iron skillet, which is pretty cool. The texture of the rice changes as you eat it" says one of my friends who has never had dolsot before LOL
Came in for a Friday lunch a little bit after opening, I was the only person in there. Decent food, good service. Bibimbap was good, would try other dishes if I am in the area again.
It was just... fine — the service was nice, but nothing we ate wowed us. Don't get the Bimbibab; for $22, it's a shallow bowl of piddling rice and meat. Chicken jjim is better, but $3 for extra thin layer cheese feels dramatic.

Super disappointed with this place. Ordered the soy chicken jijime to go. When I got home and opened it up, the dish was super watery. More than half a bowl of liquid in the dish and chicken itself looked like it was boiled. Tried to call and explain to them the situation. They said this liquid comes off the vegetables. The vegetables wouldn’t produce that much. Offered to send videos and photos of the dish since I was a little far to go back since they said they wouldn’t know if they would replace until they saw it. They said I had to bring it in. So they can see the photo on this review then.
The food here is undeniably high quality, but it’s also extremely overpriced, and unfortunately, the service does not match the cost. I recently spent over $250 on our table, and when I requested additional lemon slices for the five plates around the table, I was surprised by the response. The hostess — a blonde Asian woman — seemed visibly annoyed when I pointed out that one small lemon, cut into roughly 15 tiny wedges, was not reasonable for a table of seven. Her reply? If I wanted more, it would be an extra $5. We’re not in a country where lemons are scarce — they’re abundant and inexpensive here. Charging extra for something so basic, especially when customers are already paying premium prices, comes across as nickel-and-diming. I’ve been a loyal customer for years, but this incident made me reconsider. It’s also worth noting that tips are optional — yet here, they seem to expect upwards of 30% on every table, regardless of service quality. At the end of the day, customers want three simple things: great food, friendly and attentive service, and fair value for their money. This restaurant is missing the mark on two out of three. If they continue down this path, I don’t see them staying in business much longer.
