Shabu House is one of the best restaurants in the entire city! Their all-you-can-eat shabu with beef is one of the best things to eat! For not much more than the cost of the one plate of beef and veggies, you can have as many plates as you want - I think it's $39. Their green tea ice cream that comes with it is really good as well.

Super high quality meat. Great unique broths. Ice cream and appetizers are included. They have an all you can drink option. 31 vs 41 not bad at all. Definitely worth trying. I'd say top tier for shabu in SF.

The food is awesome and consistent I come here very often feeling good about my decision. The staff are also really kind and they check on you every so often. 5 stars 🤩

Great atmosphere, presentation of food is thoughtful. Karage chicken is so tasty, as well as the sweet broth and lamb shoulder. My partner and i are addicted and wait all day without eating so we can stuff our faces when they open in the afternoon

Solid place for shabu/hotpot all around! I'll admit I stumbled upon this place after one of our go-to shabu spots was no longer taking walk-ins for the evening. Well guess what? Jin is now my go-to spot. I've probably been visiting this place weekly since the start of the 2021 NBA Finals. My whole family loves it here. Before I start talking about the food, the staff here makes this place amazing. The gentleman still seems rather new but is slowly getting the gist of things. Service is on point and the staff is extremely patient. Requests from turning down the music, changing the tv channels, and slight modifications to the food, they do not disappoint. One of the reasons why I like this place so much is because they offer the lean wagyu. Believe it or not, not a lot of places serve it because they feel that the fattier the beef, the better. Well not for me and my family. The lean cut they serve here has just the right amount of marbling and not chunks of fat. I don't have to pick off the fat for myself or my kids, which constantly complain about the excessive fatty pieces. I like to taste a bit of fat but also taste the beefy flavor, the perfect ratio. Jin is a must try, from their beef to the housemade meat balls! Jin too will be your go-to shabu spot!

Delicious Shabu Shabu, brought back the sweet memory of the Japan trip!

Outdoor dining was cozy while the hot pot burner was running and the staff was good about checking in and refilling even though it requires a lot of back and forth from them. I definitely recommend the soy milk base. It's really delicious!

$40 all you can eat and drink? The most flavorful broth I've had for shabu shabu in the city, and really, that's the differentiation between all of the shabu places in the city. The waiters and waitresses know that people go there to stuff their face, pound sake bombs, and get pretty obnoxious, but they handle it extremely well and make sure that your alcohol is always full, and there is meat on the table. I've been here about 10 times, and I plan on going back many more times.

The service is warm and very nice Food quality excellent+. The veggies are fresh fresh and proteins are pique Make a reservation, they do get lots of parties on weekends so be patient It’s my go-to for shabu and I live on the other side of town

Our first time here and enjoying all the food. They’re all good. And servers are very nice 👍

I sincerely don't understand how this place could have less than five stars average rating, unless people deduct half a star for the fact that it's noisy and the tables are close together, but... The menu selection is incredible, the quality of the meat is phenomenal, the broths are freaking exquisite and they have TONS of options, and the wait staff were literally one of the nicest and most helpful I've ever experienced. The price is also more than fair for AYCE. I can't wait to eat here again. Maybe with a party of four instead of two in order to get a more spacious corner table.

Delicious shabu that was well worth the AYCE price! We got the tom yum broth, which had a nice slightly sour flavor to it that cut through the meat. The wagyu was nice and tender as well. The AYCE option comes with ice cream, so that was a great finish to the meal. The service is also excellent, they were very attentive and patient. Overall, I would highly recommend this place!

Absolutely me and my wife’s favorite Shabu spot in the bay for AYCE Shabu Shabu. We’ve been coming here since prepandemic and the server Teresa would always take care of us and offer friendly service. It’s easy to make a reservation through Yelp. The interior feels cozy and has stuff animals on the bench seating with pictures and details of the broths they offer on the right wall. The numerous broths they offer are all flavorful and unique which you can’t find at most shabu/hot pot places. Our personal favorites are: 1) Szechuan spicy pickled cabbage which is peppery and sour with a bit of a kick. 2) Sukiyaki broth which is savory and sweet that compliments and enhances the sweetness of the nicely marbled wagyu beef they offer. This is the broth we miss from Japan that this place satisfies our craving for. 3) Spicy miso which is common amongst shabu restaurants but they add more miso in theirs which taste more flavorful and is actually spicy. We always order the wagyu beef which they slice thinly and the meat is well marbled so it melts in your mouth, our second favorite is the New Zealand lamb which always taste fresh and not gamey at all. Here are our favorites from the menu that’s included in the AYCE: Vegetable platter - Can’t decide? It comes with a variety of their veggies Tsumire Bamboo Rolls - minced wagyu beef w/ negi(green onion) or corn Chicken Kara-age - nice and crispy to get the appetite going. Takoyaki fries- comes with the sweet and slightly tangy Takoyaki sauce topped w/ bonito flakes. Cilantro Wagyu dumplings - flavorful dumpling to go with their broth and not overpowered by cilantro. House sake- check-in and you get a bottle for 50 cents Lastly they offer you a complimentary dessert at the end of your meal which is a bowl of vanilla ice cream with a brown sugar syrup and kinako powder and it is SO addictive and delicious.

Best Shabu House in San Francisco. ALways get the House Special Spicy Mala. And is so freaking good no disappointment. Everything so fresh and so damm good that it won't let me stop eating. That's how super good the food is. It's is an excellent. No words cant describe. Everyone should come and try it's a must. Food just smelt in your mouth. Like unconditional love.

Awesome hot pot place with lots of cat pillows and cat themed stuff (which is a major selling point for me). The service is excellent. Would recommend the spicy garlic miso broth and the fresh watermelon juice for a drink. Also if you wanna try something little unique, the soy milk miso was really good and interesting. I'd put leafy stuff like cabbage and black fungus in it.

V
Vidhu Chilkuri

The AYCE is the best! The broths are delicious - recommend the Spicy Mala. For the sides, the Vegetarian medley and Mushroom medley had a good mix of everything. Loved the Black Garlic Tsumire! The outside section is quite cozy even when it's cold out. The wait staff are super nice and remember to check in on you when sitting outside too. The inside looked quite lively as well.

We’ve been here multiple times and we love it every single time. I have yet to find an all you can eat hot pot place with better quality meat. Their meats are fresh and tender and perfectly portioned. Like I mentioned it’s all you can eat so there’s no limit on how much you can eat. There is a 90-minute time limit, however we have not run into any issues with time. I would recommend going on a weekday night. It’s a small restaurant so it’s packed on weekends. They do have a yelp waitlist that you can join, and you can also make your reservations through yelp as well. There is a parking garage nearby but they have odd hours so I would recommend planning on street parking. The downside of restaurant is that they don’t have a sauce bar. They only offer one sauce that comes out pre-made. Another downside is that you can’t order specific seafood items by itself. They do offer a seafood platter which is good if you’re with a group but not for smaller parties. They have a delicious dessert that they serve at the end. It’s vanilla ice cream topped with brown sugar powder. It’s super light and refreshing at the end of the meal. For anyone who has not yet visited this spot, I highly recommend them!

We went for the all-you-can-eat and drinks, and it was totally worth it. The service was amazing — super friendly and on top of everything. Everything was perfect! We came here for the experience and to try something new, and wow… they did not disappoint. The meats and veggies were super fresh, the broth was packed with flavor, and the dipping sauce was so good I could’ve had it on its own. And the best part? While we were eating, they had Spirited Away playing on a big screen. Such a cozy, magical vibe. Can’t wait to come back!

Really nice Shabi place in SF. Atmosphere felt warm and cozy. Value is also good as it was 40$ all you can eat and included Wagyu beef. The beef was super tender and definitely one of the better ones for the price! The cocktail was also super good and they have flavoured soju pitcher and sake.

Amazing! The best AYCE meat I've had. Service is always helpful, friendly and in a good mood. The restaurant itself is cat decorated, with pictures and little things all around, great for photos. Super recommend their Golden Kimchi and Strawberry Soju. Do reservations! They are popular and, especially on weekends, you might not be able to get a table at peak hours. They have opened a second floor on the weekends where you can watch some movies while eating. I will have to come back and give it a go! But if you want that, mention it in your reservation. Extra: They have a delicious ice cream for dessert (part of AYCE), don't miss on it!

We came during happy hours (5pm - 6:30pm, ayce for $36/person). Good quality meat, good service (one server for the entire restaurant) but our food came out fast. The orders came out in small plates, except the meat. Their dipping sauce has a tangy, cilantro taste to it. If you're not a big fan, there's ponzu sauce upon request.

A great shabu shabu experience! They had a good variety of soup bases and an excellent quality meat and veggie selection. They also didn't skimp on the amount each order like some places. We went with option A (unlimited) and didn't regret it. Also the ice cream at the end was a lovely way to end the meal!

Wow! My favorite shabu house hand's down. And it's not just because they have cat-themed decorations everywhere (including framed photos of cats along the wall and cats all along the menu). The place is so quirky and cool. There's not a lot of space, so I heard there's usually a wait. But we went on a Wednesday at 5:30, and it was pretty easy to get a table. It's all-you-can-eat, and if you like alcohol, you might as well go with the premium. You can have two broths so we got the umami sea kelp and the spicy garlic miso. The umami sea kelp was a bit bland - the spicy garlic miso was perfect. The orders were fulfilled quickly, and I loved how easy they make it. I would definitely come back and will recommend to all my friends when they ask for the best hot pot place in the city.

Fresh ingredients, delicious broth, friendly service. Went here for dinner with my mom and partner recently. Got kimchi broth and mushroom broth, along with fish, beef, shrimp, king oyster mushrooms, noodles, seaweed, pumpkin, and the veggie combo. Everything was super delicious. Also ordered takoyaki fries, which were awesome. Definitely coming back.

The food is amazing. We didnt get the AYCE with drink option. We did three rounds. The food were so fresh. My favorite was shrimp and and the meat balls. Their beef slices are so good. Quality one. The service on the other hand. The next level. We were there yesterday closing time and there was only one server serving all the tables and handling my five people group’s demands. I bet it was a lot for him but he puts a smile on his every time. Did I mention we keep ordering for 3 rounds? and he was so patient with us the whole night even when we were the last table in the restaurant. The server was so polite and friendly. Best service ever! Also he’s super cute. We even forgot the phone on top of that and he came out and gave it to us. You cant find someone like that. I wish I tipped him more but my friend paid the bill. I wish I could ask his name and the number so I could thank him personally. Lol 😉 Anyway, I recommend this place. This is a healthier version of a good hotpot.

If this place was near where I lived, I'd go here at least once every week. This place was able to satisfy the shabu-cravings I've had since I moved to SF. It's a shame that I didn't take more photos (because I was busy eating). The food was great and the price was reasonable. There are about 8-10 tables inside, but it wasn't super busy or packed on a Friday night. You could reserve your seats in advance, which I always appreciate.

Upon waking in we were kindly greeted and sat at a clean table. The menu was easy to understand for new comers and offered something for everyone especially garlic lovers. We chose the a la carte option. After our wonderful crispy gyoza, the soup was an absolute smash hit! So many favors and every bite was a treat! On top of such a cute interior, we loved the cat wall! The perfect place for a hot soup that feeds the soul on a cold rainy day. Lovely experience and definitely will be back very soo!

A long wait, but shabu was good! Lots of food for what you pay for. The Kobe beef and the lamb are awesome. If you don't like sharing with others, sit at the bar and you can have your own pot next to friends with their own. Green tea or red bean ice cream is served after dinner as part of the meal!

Nice open space. Spicy miso base was delicious. I preferred the beef over the pork, but it was all tasty. Their sauces are outstanding. I could have used more mushrooms in the veggies that can be thrown into the base. The green tea ice cream at the end of the meal was delightful.

AYCE Shabu. There's a choice of beef, pork and lamb; you can get a plate with a combination of two at a time. Pretty good Shabu. You can get pretty full after two plates. Seating can be tough for bigger groups. The bar area is good if it's only two people. Parking is also tough in this area. There is paid garage parking a block away if you don't want to circle around too long.

ZOMG. They have all you can eat shabu. Pretty good service and good food. I'd definitely recommend getting the spicy miso and the kobe beef. It's really delicious. The kitties on the wall are beautiful and cute, and the ambience is pleasing and colorful. Well the hot pot is just ok, they weren't kidding when they said the mala spicy is really spicy. I've had better mala broths at places like happy lamb and haidilao where the numb doesn't overpower everything else. For the other side, we had the 'healthy mushroom' broth which turned out to be too salty, we had to ask them to add a lot of hot water to make that even edible. The variety of options seemed to be lacking, no tofu sheets and no enoki mushrooms. To cap it all one of us had stomach issues afterwards 😭 At $55 for just veggies and a smaller pot than usual, it's not cheap either.

No frills, low-key place for shabu shabu. Not bad, but nothing to write home about. The portions were quite good (entire plate of vegetables and udon noodles with an order) and I appreciated the ability to split a pot into two different types of broth. However, the broth could have been more flavorful. I think you'd get the most value out of doing the all you can eat/drink deals, which we did not. Still, there was almost no wait and it satisfied our desire for shabu shabu, so I was satisfied overall.

Shabu Shabu, hot pot, or whatever you want to call it, has never really blown me away in restaurants around here. Shabu House is an ok option if you don't have time to hit up 99 Ranch for your own meat/veggies, but I consider it a sad day when I say I can "cook" something better than the restaurant. It can take a while to get a seat on the weekend/Friday night. I don't knock off stars for this as this isn't the restaurants fault. We waited about an hour, but it really depends on the time you get there. My suggestion is don't go there starving or you're in for a miserable wait. My major minuses on the food would be the bases aren't really very exciting. You've a spicy (not that hot) miso, chicken ginger (barely a hint of ginger, tastes like campbells soup), and some other rather bland bases that really don't get me excited to eat. The sauces are ok. The peanut sauce is tasty, but the soy one needs a lot of green onions and garlic in it before I like it (which is why they supply them for you). Overall I'd rather stay in a make it myself, but if you're craving hot pot then it's an ok alternative if you've plenty of time to wait.

Great place to eat to fight off the cold San Francisco weather. We got there about 5:30, no biggie, there were 2 table occupied. Between myself and my two girls, the waitress insisted that we squeezed into a table for two. Hhhhhmmmmm. Like there are tons of open tables that could seat four. But we took the table thinking it was a bit strange. As a few more people arrived around 6 we heard her say, sorry those tables are reserved, that was more than half the tables in the restaurant. By the time we left, around 7:00 ish, the whole place was packed and there were four to a table for two. There was about 6 other people waiting for a table. Next time we'll make reservations for sure. The price was reasonable, with the Shabu Shabu, we ordered 2 large beef, but since the waitress didn't bring a ordering pad with her or paper, she brought us two regular size. They already came with veggies, so there really isn't any need to order additional veggies. I also got a Tempura Soft Shell Crab Salad, that was ok, but the crab wasn't very big and there was tons of vinegar dressing on the bottom which wilted some of the salad on the very bottom. This is a fun place to come eat, but keep in mind, you're all sharing the same soup pot. They also have an all you can eat and another all you can eat and drink (I assume this is sake). We walked away very full and content.

I really expected more from a place so widely regarded as the best Shabu in SF. The broths were sub-par. There were limited sauce options. Prices for all you can eat were not worth the money given that there is no dedicated vegetable and sauce bar. Service was alright though. Overall, disappointing.

Well. Let’s start saying that the broth used in this restaurant is the best one we found in SF. My partner and I, we like to explore restaurants and we got very surprised with the quality of the ingredients in this location. Now, knowing that, the service there is really bad. There was two Girls working there, one Asian and another one White. Not that it matters, but it’s the only way to differentiate them in this review (obs.. my Partner is Asian). We had the bad luck of only being served by the Asian one. While the other girl was very welcoming, even tho she wasn’t serving our table, the girl serving us was very mad. IDk if it was us, or if she was just not happy at all. We are polite people so we didn’t say anything. We paid for the all you can eat and both times she allowed us to order 4 times but we only ordered three times (the first time). We left the place a bit upset the first time, but we still gave her 20%, in the hope of having a better treatment next time. So we went there again, same thing. But this time, after only ordering two times, our third order came missing mostly of the meat we ordered. We asked her about and she said that the kitchen didn’t have more of those meats. We then, had to order a forth time to add meat (that was available) because we didn’t have in our last order. Just so, next to us, the people that just got there was able to order all the meats they wanted. Now, if she was telling the truth, blame on the restaurant that promises all you can eat and is really far from that. Even sadly, because this restaurant have everything to get even more successful, since the quality of the food is good. But besides that, the attitude of the girl is not appreciative, and she should value her job and the client that go there. We didn’t disrespect her and we preferred just leave instead arguing about it. Here is the tip: if you guys don’t wanna keep losing clients, you should pay attention on your clients. Sadly, because we liked the food, we are not going back.

I used to consider Jinpot my favorite shabu spot in SF, but my recent visit left me deeply disappointed and frustrated. The decline started with a server who was shockingly rude from the moment we walked in. We were assured over the phone that reservations weren’t necessary, yet upon arrival, we were left waiting as she gave our table away to others without so much as an explanation or apology. But it didn’t stop there. The server offered no guidance on the menu, leaving our group of four confused when it was time to order. We opted for the all-you-can-eat option, only to be served portions clearly meant for two people. With just two pieces of each item per round, we found ourselves constantly waiting for more food, enduring long and frustrating delays. When we finally voiced our concerns, the server’s response was even more disheartening. Instead of addressing the issue, she dismissively claimed that everyone had the same wait time, even though it was obvious that other tables were being served well before us. To make matters worse, she suggested we speak with someone else and handed us a number, completely brushing off our legitimate complaints. I’m at a loss for words. Jinpot, once my go-to for shabu, has become unrecognizable with its terrible service. It’s incredibly disappointing to see such a drastic decline in both the quality of the food and the professionalism of the staff. I can no longer recommend dining at Jinpot, as it is far from the enjoyable and satisfying experience it once was.
