Avis sur Blush! Wine Bar Alameda
Seat yourself in this welcoming relaxed wine bar. The staff are fun friendly and welcoming. Personally a fan of their house white and red. The small plates, grilled cheese options, and charcuterie tempt you to stay longer than planned. You will be happy you lingered longer at this local gem.
Great selection of international wines and beers, particularly special Belgian beers. There was life music with a very nice band. Went there before a concert at the Castro Theater.
Vincent, Christopher and all the other bartenders will welcome you and make you feel like a Cheers cast member. It's warm and friendly inside, with a comfortable beer and wine selection! They also serve food if you're wanting a bite along with your drink. In summary, Blush wine bar is a great place to rendezvous with your friends, whether they be gay, or straight. Check it out sometime!
If you want a great wine and beer, this is the place to go. This place has an amazing selection to choose from. The atmosphere is dark and cozy. You can really feel like you are in your own little world there. Bartenders were great. They were very attentive and friendly. When we didn't know what to get or what something was, they happily explained without any attitude that sometimes you get when servers are impatient or irritated at questions that they should be answering as part of the experience. If you get hungry, they have a really nice menu with a large variety of items to choose from depending on what you are hungry for or how hungry you might be. I recommend the large board. It had just the right selection of cheeses and meets to pick at while enjoying your drinks. It isn't cheep, but it isn't outrageous either. Definitely worth the money for the experience, level of service, and quality of drink and food. Check it out, you won't be disappointed and I do plan to visit again when in town.
My go to wine bar! I live in the area and this has become my local spot. I keep seeing negative reviews about service, but I’ve never had an issue. If you expect to be completely waited on then I could see the slight disappointment, but if you are going for a great glass of wine, and a chat with a friend, then it’s the perfect spot.. Highly recommend!
Marvelous ambience, delicious wines, excellent service. A first class wine bar in the heart of the Castro. The cheese board was outstanding and reasonably priced. Friendly, down to earth management.
My favorite wine bar in the Castro. Quaint and cozy ambiance. Great smaller bites if you are hungry. Great place for a date, or to catch up with friends where it's not too noisy.
This is a very nice classy alternative to the other bars in the Castro. Beer and wine only, and frankly the wine is just ok, but they do have some fabulous Belgian beers, including Chimay. They also have some nice lite bites to nibble on while you hang out. Overall a very nice place for a date or to chill with friends where you don’t need to shout over overloud music.
Fun atmosphere, great wine, funny little charcuterie boards!
Great place for some good wine and delicious snacks, with excellent service. Not sure they have as many wines by the glass as advertised on their website (maybe due to the pandemic?), but my friend and I found one we liked and enjoyed a couple bottles.
In addition to being a friendly local wine bar, Blush doubles as an art gallery, with a rotating display of paintings, drawings, and sculptures. I have purchased one-of-a kind pieces here for less than $100. The atmosphere is cozy, wines by the glass and bottle are reasonably priced, and the cute staff is friendly to all comers, gay and straight.
Cute little wine bar in the heart of the Castro. Definitely attracts a gay/lgbt crowd. Wine bar with decent pricing. They also serve small bites. Great place to meet a friend.
I visit this place every single time I am in SF and think I fall more in like with it each visit! From hanging out with our cycling team before the LifeCycle to a great weekend with the girls, this place has got a great mix of casual ambiance, amazing people watching, killer appetizers and, of course, WONDERFUL WINE! Visit and Blush! will surely become one of your favorite stops!
SF bars need to take notes on this place. So refreshing to have such colorful personalities in the knowledgeable staff, great wine selection and talented live musicians. I wish every neighborhood had a blush
I like the cozy atmosphere and wine selection. They know their great wine! Good light eating menu too. Great place for a date or to chat with a friend.
New in the hood and these folks took care of us and made us feel at home. One trip and Vincent remembered our whole crew when one of us came in later. So many delicious wines!
This is one of my favorite spots to wind down with a small group of friends for an intimate convo or go to for a casual date. The wine selection is good as are the cheese plates! No pretension either. Plus they have some rad live music sometimes!
Amazing wine and great good! They even have Ravioles, my friend dish from France. Great service too! Live the vibe.
Great wine! Great food. Felt like we were in France.
Great wine bar in the Castro District. Popped in for a pre-dinner drink and was so impressed by the Red Sangria. One of the best Sangrias I’ve ever tasted. The aura and vibe of the wine bar was perfect for a Thursday evening. They also live music some nights which we missed due to a dinner reservation. I’d definitely return for a glass of wine, music and small bites.
A nice comfy wine bar in the middle of Castro. There are couches, bar area and tables where you can sit and chat with friends. The wine collection is decent but not amazing. The crowd is very diverse set of people.
Great place. Amazing wine list and good beer, plus snacks. Go there if you're in the Castro.
Best bar in Castro!. The live band is world class. The lady singer has a very soft voice making the place so cozy and very entertaining.
Great vibes and very cool wine list with a lot of smaller known regions & appellations.
Great service! Impeccable selection of unique wines. Friendly and warm atmosphere.
Happy hour 50% off on wines, Monday to Friday. Good quality wine ! I recommend
We love the couch! This is our favorite wine bar in the City. The atmosphere here is so shiek. The mulled wine is fabulous!
Lovely little wine bar in the Castro. Bartender is super informative and can give great suggestions as well.

This is a great neighborhood spot! I like coming here for their happy hour (4-6). They have a wide selection of wines by the glass and also sell bottles. If you're into wine at all, you'll probably find something you like. The selection shifts over time, but there's always a wide variety. The service is great and the space is warm and inviting. It's definitely more "wine bar that also serves snacks and light bites" than a restaurant. The food from the small menu they do have is fresh and delicious, but you may still want a full meal afterwards. Blush! would be a great spot for a date if your prospect is into wine (or at least wine-curious).
An excellent wine bar offering delicious wine, beers, foods and a quiet place to sit. Always something new, and the servers are very knowledgeable and friendly. Enjoy!

One of very few, may be the only place in the Castro where you can hear live music. Love them for supporting our jazz musician community. I’ve also found the wine selection to be excellent and excellently price as well.
Nice wine bar with good vintages. About ten to fourteen per glass as of 9/2019. Would have given the 5th star but the place is way too noisy. You need to yell at your friends to get them to hear.
A cozy neighborhood wine bar that attracts many chatters that sometimes can get loud. However, find this place to be totally relaxing, and without pressure of knowing the latest wine trend. You can even enjoy bubbly such as Perrier or Rosé. Crowds in Saturday night tend to thin out after 10 p.m. so that more seats are available.
I watched the Americano social club at Fillmore Jazz Festival and have been meaning to go see them at Blush on Thursdays and I finally got a chance to do that. The bar was packed, but there was still enough space to stand, enjoy some music and grab a wine. They have a big wine menu. Slightly on the pricey side. I had a glass of Riesling for $11. But worth it for the music !
Taxi driver recommended this place. Went twice. Bartender Christopher was very accommodating. Wine menu was accessed on a QR code. Christopher made sure we could taste a couple of wines to get the perfect one. The conversation from the other tables went from loud to soft and everywhere in between. Depending on how many others are in the room, it may be cozy or noisy. I don't know anything about food that may be served.
Best happy hours in the Castro Mon-Fri 4 to 6pm: all wines by the glass half price.

It's a nice, quiet atmosphere compared to the rest of the Castro area, though the lighting is a little too dim. They have a good selection of wines and the staff is knowledgeable. It's a good spot to check out if you want a relaxing drink and to do a little people watching.
Stopped in to see a great band play. It was awesome. Customer actually sat in on vocals for one song, and crushed it. Great staff, great time.
Being new to San Francisco, we were out exploring the Castro and stopped into BLUSH! on a whim. The vibe immediately stood out—fun, lively, and very much in tune with the neighborhood. It felt like a spot where people come to relax, connect, and enjoy themselves. They have a solid selection of wines and beers, which made it easy to find something everyone could enjoy. The atmosphere felt established and local, and it definitely seems like a place with a lot of regulars who know each other and the space well. While the staff wasn’t the most welcoming or friendly, it didn’t take away too much from the overall experience. BLUSH! is a great spot to grab a drink and soak in the Castro energy, especially if you’re exploring the area. With its vibe and drink selection, it’s worth a stop.

Cute little wine bar on Castro, right next to all the nightlife bars/clubs. We ordered a charcuterie plate that went perfectly with the selection of wines and beers we were having. The cheeses were actually better than the meets, and they served it with a nice sweet and sour jam that really topped off the flavors. I'd say this place is a great hang out spot, somewhere nice to sit and catch up with friends, especially if youre want something light and easy before heading out the bars around the corner.
As a wine bar, it works pretty well, except it can be very warm inside and you can't go out with your drink. As a brunch place it's pretty terrible. You have to wait long, they mix the order and don't have potatoes on Sunday noon. The only good thing are bottomless mimosas.
If I had visited for first time on Sunday then I would have given 5 stars, unfortunately my first visit was Saturday and I had the misfortune of experiencing the most miserable bar man ever. Unresponsive and totally disinterested spring to mind. Cheerier server turned up towards the end of our visit. Sunday visit much better as the two servers had passion and personality. Visited again Tuesday and the miserable one was back - left straight away as i couldn't be bothered with his attituted.
I've been to Blush several times and even though it's a nice space to grab a glass of wine where the rest or the area is surrounded by cocktails and debauchery I can't say I've ever had outstanding service here. The last time I was here my friend and I had a seat on the couch as we ordered our wine, but the server who gave us menus seemed to have a chip on her shoulder for some reason. Everything was met with a snarl and a little attitude when ordering and paying. I was happy that she carded us and everyone has a bad day but if I'm friendly, you should be too. Good wines, but lacking in great service.
While the wine was great and the atmosphere was nice, service was basically non-existent. We never got a chance to order food, and the "waiter" never came back after our initial drink order.
If you’re not white or look a certain way, DO NOT expect to be acknowledged, seen, etc. I went there with a girlfriend who enjoys drinking wine, and I tried to get me and my girlfriend a glass of wine, and even though I stood in front of an empty bar, I was completely ignored by the staff there. I walked out and took my business elsewhere. Gross customer service experience
any establishment check id’s for validity before you decide they are fake. its quite frankly embarrassing to deny people service when they are in fact over 21.
I would have loved to leave a review if I had been served. We entered the bar around 10:50 PM and waited for 10 minutes for a staff member to appear to assist us, which never happened. No one at the door, no one at the counter, no one in the hall. Zero stars. Typical no one cares service in a touristy area.
If i could give 0 stars, I would. From my friends POV, this is the experience that her and I had at Blush this past weekend. - I had a friend come into town to visit me since moving into the city and we decided to go to Blush to meet with a friend and have a bottle of wine. your employee (unsure of his name, mustache with tattoos) came over and greeted us and asked to see our IDs. I have yet to switch my Florida drivers license to a California license since moving to San Francisco about a month ago. your bartender then proceeds to give my friend her ID back and then threw my id on the table even though my hand was reaching out for it. he scoffed and walked away and we were very confused as well as taken aback to what just happened. a few minutes later as we’re still waiting for our friend to arrive he looks at us from the bar and says “ I just wanted to let you know we probably will not be serving you guys tonight.” at this point we were very confused and i asked him why we were being denied when we are both over the age of 21. his response was that he “didn’t like our id’s” assuming it is because we are from florida. now i am a queer woman who lives in san francisco and i have come to your establishment before with the same bartender and NEVER had this issue. we wanted to come to what we thought was a safe space for me as well as my friend who we were waiting for. I think it was completely unacceptable that we were treated this way due to him not liking our licenses. I am well aware of the political climate we are in currently as well as the political views of the state of Florida. in no way, shape or form do i agree with any of Floridas politics and what is happening in this country. i think it’s completely unprofessional to judge and then decided not to serve based off of that. we completely accepted what your bartender said and left absolutely shocked and embarrassed that he did that in front of the entire establishment. again i have been to blush multiple times without an issue in the past but this was completely uncalled for. i don’t plan to come back to blush ever again being that your staff member was incredibly rude and his actions were unacceptable. i completely understand that places have the right to refuse service to anyone but we were nothing but respectful and the reasoning is quite honestly bullshit. i just wanted to let whatever management know what occurred and i hope that anyone who comes from out of state does not have the same experience as us. Blush seems like a safe space that is accepting to all humans especially those in the LGBTQIA+ community. Unfortunately i again, a queer woman did not get that same treatment.
