Mission Picnic

They are life savers, my mother was planning a memorial for her sister from Alabama and Sterling edited the folks that came to the memorial were well fed. She ordered on Monday and we had food and drinks on Wednesday. We were all well fed and taken care of today. Thank you Mission Picnic.

We used mission picnic for a catering event. My company wanted to order lunch for all our clients during the holidays (so a complicated set of catering events). Josh was amazing in helping me select the right meals and ensured they arrived just in time. He was so communicative and helpful, we will use in the future 100%. Highly recommend for big or small events.

My go-to mission sandwich shop now. They are very prompt with their time estimates and service, and important thing during busy lunch hour. The San Franciscan is my favorite. Bread is crunchy and ingredients fresh.

Delivery was on time, very well presented, and flavors were outstanding! Watch out for those Habanero chips. I love hot, but those will kick you hard. Everyone enjoyed all the food. That Beets & Greens salad was ummmm too.

Great variety of sandwiches and all that I have tried so far are really delicious. The staff was friendly and provided quick service. Looking forward to trying some of the other sandwiches in the near future!

I really like Mission Picnic. Their sandwiches are creative and well produced. I've also had their sandwiches for a small corporate event. The seating is very limited, so grab a table if you can or take it with you!

lovely spot in the mission full of smiling employees and delicious food! stopped by mission picnic to grab lunch in the middle of the workday—it was hard picking between their menu options but the employees gave me recommendations and even told me about their personal favorites :-). ended up going with the picnic club based on their recs and am floored at how tasty this sandwich is (may be one of my fav sandwiches in the mission)! super well balanced in freshness and savory-ness, and the bread holds up super well to the sandwich without being too bready or hard to bite on the outside. honestly, this sandwich was perfect, and I would easily come back for it every time. service was quick, and they even gave us some free cookies to go with our lunch ❤️. highly recommend giving mission picnic a try if you’re in the neighborhood :-).

Turmeric chickpeas is not something I've seen in a vegan sandwich before and it was really great. Lots of perfectly fresh avocado! The only thing I'd change is the bread. It was a little dry.

Best go to sandwich in the Mission, hands down. They’re a great size, well constructed, and the bread is fantastic. Good, huge salads too. If you’re going to pay SF prices, make it high quality and quick - choose Mission Picnic. Plus: parklet seating is great, staff is friendly, and there’s never a line.

Love this place. I had the Planter (vegan) sandwich to mix things up a bit since I almost always get the New Yorker. Who would have thought someone could make a tasty vegan sandwich. The chickpeas and the veggies came together nicely. The new location has a fun clean atmosphere and nice indoor outdoor seating. They also have Ritual coffee now too!! I'm going to get my company to have them cater our next office luncheon.

The service was amazing, the restaurant is clean and inviting. I had the Philly Cheese and my sis had the cranturkey and they both were delicious. The meat is fresh and well baked and the bread is amazing. Will definitely be back!

My sandwich came packed in a separate bag apart from the items with gluten and was marked “gluten free” in multiple places. I felt really safe and the sandwich was great!

They were patient and answered all of my questions, and were easy to get in contact with and super responsive. The food was delivered on time, and the warm items were still warm. The cold items were also still cold.. We ordered a variety of sandwiches, sides, empanadas and drinks. Nothing was missing from our order. And the food was delicious. If I ever need to cater sandwiches on the peninsula, I will be coming here again.

This is a great sandwich and salad spot. They used to have the best cubano in town but for some reason removed it from their menu before they changed locations. Here's hoping they bring it back.

I posted the same request on Yelp--that you please increase the number of plant-based offerings! Not a ton of choice for those of us who want to avoid animal products. Data everyday reports that a primary way to stall climate crisis is to reduce consumption of meat and cheese significantly. If we all reduce some, this will have huge benefit. I see restaurants as having the opportunity (and the duty!) to postively influence consumer choice by offering more all plant-based menu items. Thanks for the consideration! (I only ate one item--the one Planter /vegan sandwich offered, it was good.)

2015.11.27: Got 2 sandwiches here for a picnic on top of Twin Peaks: a San Francisco and Pollopesto. The San Francisco was the better of the two sandwiches, but they were both good. The space itself is tiny, but the people were nice and the bathroom was squeaky clean. Really liked it!

Generously filled sandwiches made with high-quality ingredients. Good range or canned drinks available, including beer and wine. Recommend the Cranturkey, the Hot Salumi and the Devil's Egg (go for the extra bacon). Not cheap, but it's a superior choice to many of the local alternatives.

I love sandwiches.. happy i found this spot while walking around town on my break. The only disappointing part was the addition of spicy mustard when I asked for just mustard. Other than that, ingredients were fresh, and simple.

Super disappointed that their restaurant menu is hugely different from their catering menu. As mentioned to the cashier on my visit, our office goes crazy whenever Mission Picnic is the lunch option for the week...and that baked salmon?! AMAZING. Simply, amazing. That charred edges around the salmon pieces! Welp, came here on a Sunday for lunch, only to find out that the Baked Salmon isn't on their menu. In the restaurant. Period. In fact, they seem to focus more on their catering biz. Makes sense. But their restaurant menu is extremelyyyy limiting. Like six mixed salad options. And you can add some proteins (but not the Baked Salmon). They accommodated my failed request with Smoked Salmon. Mehhh not the same. The bud and I also got a side of the orzo salad as well. I meannn for half an orzo salad and a Kale Cesar salad + smoked salmon for $23pp seems a bit pricey. IMHO their catering is much better (salad bar style) than their restaurant menu options. 3 stars

Awesome neighborhood sandwich and salad shop. Portions are quite large. You can order online, but they also have quick service. Great place to pick up lunch before heading to the park!

I placed an online order from 11:30 pickup. When I went to the store it was closed! Saying they would open at 12:30. This is super inconvenient for me since there is no other time I could go pick up the food. There was no way for me to cancel the order on top of not having lunch!

Tried their most popular sandwich "London Broil" - Pretty disappointing. The meat was unimpressive and masked by the spread. Can't speak to the other sandwiches though. Mixed green salad was fresh and plentiful though

They need a lot more bacon! It's very thin and crunchy, but there's not much. They really should use a nicer thicker bacon for a $10 BLT! I am going to try them again, but no more BLTs. The bread is super yummy!

Used to love the old place. Now quality went down and prices gone up. Egg salad sandwich used to cost less than 10, now it’s 14. Total ripoff! Just saw the owner’s response: he is misleading. The old sandwich included Bacon, now if you want Bacon you need to pay extra 2$ totaling in more than 14 after tax. I neglected to emphasize the sandwich was really bad...

A clearly written list of 2 different sandwiches, plus a third sandwich ordered while there - very expensive and when opened NOT the sandwiches on the list. When calling back, told at first we didn't give list, then, oh, the list was unclear. IT WAS VERY CLEAR AND SIMPLE. Corned beef or pastrami and cheese is NOT SMOKED SALMON. was frustrating, expensive, NO RECEIPT GIVEN and when called, a casual, oh sorry, bring them back. We are a busy business and I don't have time to go out twice. BEWARE UUUUUGGGGGGHHHHHHHH
