Taste of Fusion is a standout destination in the Outer Richmond that perfectly balances a modern, spacious atmosphere with deeply authentic Cantonese flavors. The restaurant’s clean and inviting decor makes it an ideal spot for both casual family dim sum and more formal dinners, while the service is consistently attentive and welcoming, adding a personal touch to every visit. The food is exceptionally fresh and well-executed, with standout dishes like the Peking Roasted Duck, which features perfectly crisp skin and succulent meat and the tender Sautéed Beef Cubes with Honey Pepper Sauce that deliver a delightful burst of flavor. Other highlights include their beautifully prepared dim sum staples, particularly the fresh shrimp and scallop options and the fragrant Sautéed Garlic Pea Sprouts. Between the high-quality ingredients, diverse menu and vibrant neighborhood vibe, Taste of Fusion is easily one of the best dining experiences in the district and a must-visit for anyone seeking a modern twist on traditional Chinese cuisine.

We went in for dim sum on Friday morning, and really enjoyed every dish! The scallop fried rice had a nice texture and a subtle flavor. The jellyfish and seaweed was beautifully presented, slight spice to it, and delicious. The green onion pancakes were very light and tasty. You may need a phone to browse their menu and order. Initially I had a problem with getting no signal - probably owing to the new building's thick walls. They have a wifi network and password - keep an eye out for it, or ask the staff. Not pictured: We also ordered sesame balls, which I ate before taking a picture, crab siu mai (also yum and substantial) and Shanghai soup dumplings. The sesame balls has a lovely texture between light crisp and chewy. They don't skimp on siu mai filling, and the Shanghai soup dumplings were definitely filled with soup (I find this can be hit or miss at some places). Definitely can't wait to go back. Glad this is finally open!

Love this place, can’t wait to go back. The highlights included the best Peking Roasted Duck I’ve ever had. The atmosphere was lively and service was fast. Other menu standouts included the mapo tofu, honey walnut prawns, and homemade pastry’s.

February 2024: Enjoyed a lunch on a busy Saturday. We tried some dim sum and a few noodle dishes. I liked the bitter melon spareribs chow fun. The sauce was a black bean gravy style. Very tasty 😋. The second noodle dish was a fish fillet mushroom chow mein that was also very tasty 😋. I would order both noodles again! Also tried a green bean stir fry. Good flavors. Dim sum that we tried was the steamed pork buns, sticky rice, and har gow. I only tried the pork bun, which was very good. Will be back again for more delicious food!

Nice neighborhood restaurant that wasn’t too crowded and the food is delicious. Staff is friendly. The only downside is too much noise for my liking.

Celebrated a milestone birthday here with family and extended family. Everyone raved that the food was delicious, service was great and atmosphere was clean, bright and open. Thank you to Gordon who made sure this day ran without a hitch. Would definitely recommend Taste of Fusion.

This restaurant exceeded all expectations!! We were looking for a Chinese restaurant that had standard fare like fried rice and chow fun, and almost passed this place up because it the name (Chinese fusion is so hit or miss and rarely done well), but I’m so glad we didn’t. When we entered we were greeted and the staff were all e extremely polite and attentive. The decor is simple, but everything looks new and super clean. We ordered all vegetarian dishes (chow fun, braised tofu and Chinese greens and fried rice), and they accommodated our requests and substitutions. I was super impressed that every dish had a lot of Chinese greens, and the longer greens were cut into bite sized pieces! I hate super long Chinese greens that you have to either keep shoveling into your mouth or gnaw at and hope it breaks, so this was much appreciated. Everything was cooked to perfection, perfectly seasoned, and just overall really delicious! At the end of the meal they brought over complimentary cookies and sweet mochies- such a sweet touch! And finally- the restrooms are spotless! I love that I didn’t have to worry about my daughter finding a clean stall because every single bathroom was so clean. This is easily my new favorite Chinese restaurant in the city.

Cousin invited us to Southern Chinese style banquet here. Food was excellent, very well prepared and tasty. A particular standout dish was the squid and scallop with American broccoli which was perfectly just done, both vegetable and squid were flavored and tender without being overcooked. The restaurant handled the many courses and large party with excellent service.

Taste of Fusion serves fantastic dim sum—easily some of the best I’ve ever had. Every single dish we tried was amazing, from the classics to the more unique offerings. The BBQ pork puff buns were the absolute standout, with the perfect balance of sweet and savory in every bite. We also ordered har gow, sui mai, steamed meatball, soup dumplings, beef chow fun, pork spare ribs, and Portuguese egg tarts—and everything was delicious. The flavors were spot on, the textures were just right, and the quality of ingredients really shined. If you’re looking for top-tier dim sum, I highly recommend Taste of Fusion. I can’t wait to go back!

You order from a menu with a dry erase marker - few carts and no paper waste. This also means your food is made fresh so it comes out steaming hot. It is so hot that you need to wait before taking full bites. I also liked how clean this place is. Would love to go back and try more from the menu!

The food here is great. Very fresh vegetables and lean meats. Sauces are delicious. We came here on a Monday walk with a bunch of friends to visit the middle lakes. One guy who used to live in the area said we should eat lunch here. We picked 6 different items to share they were all tasty. It wasn't super busy for a Monday lunch hour, but the bar area looks great. I imagine it gets hoping on evenings and weekends.

This is a dim sum place in the Richmond district - Balboa and 36th Avenue. It's so unusual to have a strictly dim sum type of restaurant so far away from Chinatown and Richmond Chinatown (5th to 10th Avenues on Clement Street). Parking is not easy, depending on when you are going. It's street parking in a neighborhood that has many houses with garages. The outside of the restaurant doesn't look anything different. Once you enter the restaurant, it's spacious. I believe this will be popular for Chinese weddings, baby parties, etc. because there are no obstructed views and the banquet prices are way more reasonable than elsewhere in SF. The food is served temperature hot - it does not sit in a steamer but is made when you order and brought to you immediately. Menu is simple and has most of the expected dim sum dishes. Ingredients are fresh and shrimps in haw gow is whole rather than sliced. The sesame balls outer shell could be thinner with more filling. The scallop dumpling is excellent. It's different - savory and scallop just melts in your mouth. Since I am not a fan of parsley and onions (it reminds me of the old time dim sum where everything had onions and parsley), I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but will come to entertain friends because of its cleanness. Food presentation is excellent. Servers were more friendlier and helpful than the waiter/waitresses. There were no greeter. You need to catch the eye of a waiter or maitre d to be seated. Once seated, the service is hot/cold, depending on how crowed the restaurant is.

I gave 3 star because the dishes were not clean enough. I found food residue, likely petals from chrysanthemums tea, on 2 cups and 2 plates. Attached pics showing 2 different cups. Felt that they should upgrade the dishwasher. Food was ok. Chicken feet were good. Changfen (rice rolls), siu mai were mediocre. Fried chive dumplings featured a traditional translucent dough, which weren’t what I expected but fillings tasted good.

I recently dined at Taste of Fusion and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. While the food itself was acceptable, the service was shockingly slow. We waited over 40 minutes for our first dish to arrive, and I noticed many other tables filled with frustrated customers also waiting an unreasonable amount of time for their food. For a Chinese restaurant, where speed and efficiency are traditionally valued, this wait time was completely unacceptable. They clearly need to invest in more kitchen staff. However, the most disappointing aspect of my visit was the questionable ethical behavior of the captain. After finishing our meal, we observed other tables being served a soup-like dessert. When we inquired about it, the captain told us they were running low and he would see if they could spare some for us. Moments later, when the waiter brought our dessert, and he made a point of asking if the portion was sufficient and offered to bring more. This blatant contradiction left us wondering: did they have enough dessert or not? It felt like a dismissive and dishonest way of avoiding serving us. Overall, my experience at Taste of Fusion was marred by incredibly slow service and questionable behavior from the staff. It embodies the worst stereotypes of some Chinese-run establishments. Good luck if you decide to dine here; you'll need it.
