Blew me away. I cannot wrap my head around how good the duck is. The texture is and the flavors are unlike any preparation of duck I've ever had in any cuisine. The salad is perfect, the spiny lobster Crudo was so flavour packed and fresh, both being the perfect appetizers for the main event which was the duck. This is an absolute MUST. I usually don't order duck places because I'm always skeptical if people can cook it right but someone brought me here and recommended it and indeed, it was perfection. Then, as if it couldn't get any better the ice cream or some of the best ice cream I've had in my life. Sometimes when people do alcoholic ice creams it's too heavy on the alcohol and the texture is off or it's too hot in my throat, these guys really figured out how to extract the flavors of chartreuse without having the heat of it in your mouth. It was like heaven I'm never gonna stop thinking about it. The buttermilk ice cream is also excellent and I highly recommend just getting both scoops. I cannot wait to come back here. I can imagine this being a stop on every San Francisco trip i take, i seriously was swept away.

One of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco. Excellent food, especially the homemade charcuterie and cheese selection. Also fantastic cocktails, and a great wine selection. The Morris never disappoints! PS Get the Chartreuse Slushy as an aperitif. 😉

This is a wonderful, friendly, culinary experience. The entire Morris team is so fun, and really want everyone to have a great experience. No detail is missed, even the soap in the bathrooms. If you don't order a Chartreuse slushy, you need to go back and have one.

The vibe, food and service were all amazing. Their nibbles are delicious especially the chicken nuggets + caviar ranch. *Mind blown* The combination of the two flavors are so good. They have an extensive wine list! Next time, I'll need to try their cocktails. I love all the quirky and design details from denim coasters, receipt holders - and a projector in the bathrooms. I highly recommend this restaurant!

The Morris is hands down one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time! We ordered the duck, and it completely blew us away—the skin was perfectly crispy, the meat was tender and juicy, with this incredible smoky flavor that lingered in the best way. When we found out it had been dry-aged for 7 days, it all made sense—the flavor was just on another level. The atmosphere was so chill and comfortable; it felt like the kind of place where you could take your time and truly enjoy every moment.

We stopped for drinks and snacks last Friday but ended up staying much longer than initially planned, because it was all just so good! I'll start off with saying it is pricey, but if worth it if you can go. Personally I had the Pom Queen which is N/A by default but they will add a spirit to it if asked, and it was super refreshing and light. My second drink was something with coconut / pineapple, like a much more adult pina colada but again, total knockout. The wines are also good and they have an impressive selection. The snacks and desserts, of which we thought we would only get one or two things, are also amazing. Delicious fries, good selection of cheeses, knockout pudding / salty cookie and the doughnuts. The cherry on top was they are dog-friendly outside, have plenty of heaters, and the service was top-notch!!

Went to the afterparty event. Okay, chicken nuggets with caviar ranch are fire. In-house-made charcuterie and lots of caviar.

The food here is fabulous. The charcuterie with the duck liver mousse is to die for. Possibly the best I have tasted. The pasta w truffle was exquisite and the duck was wonderfully moist! A great meal with fine company! The service was outstanding [and prompt!] Highly recommended!!

Having enjoyed delicious dishes and good service in many settings, The Morris is still one of my favorite restaurants. Each dish is made with care. The flavor, texture, temperature, even colors are great for the eyes, the nose, the tongue, appealing to so many senses. Staff is courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. It is also consistent, which matters. They are environmentally conscious, which you can tell from the napkins to hand towels in the bathroom. The menu is varied, so whether you are a vegan or meat lover, you will find something that will delight your senses. The bar staff is excellent, serving cocktails at just the right temperature and just like the food, it is excellent. And I haven't even mentioned the extensive spirits menu :) come find out yourself. Absolutely worth the trip.

The kind of place that is so good and so reasonably priced that you want to keep it as a secret. Come for the smoke duck, which is legendary, stay for the selection of aged wines, or the grilled squid, or the collection of Chartreuse. And did I mention the dessert of buckwheat donuts?

Really phenomenal flavors with fresh seasonal vegetables, the dishes at The Morris will leave you fulfilled and satisfied. The smoked duck is obviously a highlight, but their veggies are not to be ignored! The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff are knowledgeable, the service was prompt and the attention to detail was there. I think this restaurant is certainly on-par with similarly priced inventive new-American restaurants in the area, and shouldn’t be skipped.

Wow, one of our new favorites in SF! Rotating seasonal menu with really great produce. Amazing options for any diet. Make sure to make a reservation beforehand. If you get the house wine (red or white), only pay for what you drink.

Excellent! This is my fav restaurant in San Francisco recommended by friends. My husband and I went and everything was incredible. Amy was lovely and so was our waiter (I wish I asked her name!) They accommodated a seed oil allergy as well as no sugar. Felt so taken care of. Loved everything we had — steak, halibut, cabbage, duck liver, etc. Hats off to the chef. I hope one day they will brine the duck w honey so I can have it because it looks divine. If you come to San Francisco, The Morris is a must!

10 out of 10! So glad I found this place during a recent visit to SFO. Ambience was lively yet ambient enough to enjoy dinner Conversation. menu is on the smaller side, but many delicious options. Wonderful service. We started with the mushroom appetizer, duck hearts and salad. All were unique and perfectly seasoned. Bartender made my boyfriend a tequila cocktail, and I tried a glass of Syrah from Sonoma. for the mains, my boyfriend had halibut with white beans and greens. Very rustic and delicious. I enjoyed the pork dish with beer sausage. Served with a wonderful mustard sauce and potatoes. We also tried the roasted brussels sprouts which were perfectly cooked. We both agreed this is one of our favorite dinners anywhere. Can't wait to come back again.

We so enjoyed our time at The Morris. We ate well and the staff were exceptionally kind and impressive. Checking in, ordering, and dining were all pleasant. The outdoor seating arrangement was plenty warm and quiet, and it was ~57 degrees on a wet day. The duck was marvelous, ling cod and charcuterie were excellent, particularly the rabbit terrine. Chartreuse slushy was fun!

The Morris , let me try to capture all the good things that are going on here. So we gave this place a try on a Thursday evening and it's certainly surprising how busy this little place is. The place is rather narrow and the ceiling is rather low. Congratulations to the decorator for making the place feel inviting and warm. I love the open kitchen at the entrance, it gives you a good glance at the various dishes and your nostrils will be on high alert absorbing the various smells. The staff is super attentive friendly and has a fantastic memory as they remember which guest ordered which wine and brought the correct bottle for refill without having to ask. The food. we really enjoyed the appetizers. The pork cracklings were yummy and rather light great for sharing and best with a cocktail. For me the best dish was the brocolini with squid. The combo of the charred, the lime juice ...out of this world. For the main we tried 1/2 of the smoked duck. Now let me tell you it's good but.. it's so rich in smoked flavor that after a few bites I was completely with the flavors and we had a hard time finishing the serving. My recommendation 1/2 a duck for 4 would be the right serving size otherwise your taste buds will go on strike Great experience overall definitely worth a follow up visit.

Overall, a welcoming place with delicious roasted duck. I would recommend. Service - Friendly attentive staff. Atmosphere - Relaxed, welcoming, and warm. Not many seats, so recommend making a reservation. Food - roasted duck: very tasty! Highly recommend. Duck was tender and had lovely smoky flavor. - duck heart skewer: also very tasty. Sweet and chewy. It is a small portion ( two skewers ), so perhaps get one order per person. - beer/wine: they have CM beer. Also their house red wine was smooth. - french fries: Unfortunately quite overdone and salty. My only complaint at this place.

The Morris is an upscale restaurant in the Mission that got quite busy on Saturday night. Outdoor reservations were available and it wasn’t too cold yet in mid-October. Their charcuterie menu can be ordered individually for $15 dollars, 5 items for $50, or all options for $75. Me and my friend ordered two individual portions of Mortadella and Duck Prosciutto along with their sourdough bread and butter. The sourdough was perfect - spongy on the inside and a thin dense caramelized rustic crust. The mortadella was a bit heavy on salt but once I sampled it with some pickled vegetables, it cancelled out the salt and left the flavor of the meat and pimento. The duck prosciutto took longer to hit the taste buds. Fat and salt followed by a subtle duck flavor. I also ordered a Chartreuse Slush, which had a nice sublime citrus and floral flavor. As it melted, a puddle formed around the glass. For our entrees, we ordered and shared the Heirloom Tomato Salad with pickled Chanterelles along with the Little Gem Salad. The tomatoes were plump and tangy. It had an interesting caprese-like taste minus the mozzarella. It was definitely a good amount of food. As we were wrapping up the meal, we ordered the Buckwheat Donuts and I got myself a cappuccino to keep myself up at the Rival Consoles show. I immediately picked up hints of cumin and cinnamon in the donuts, an interesting combination to say the least. I really enjoyed the relaxed outdoor patio, which is covered and heated. They are prepared for those chilly SF nights. I would definitely come back to try more dishes including the duck.

I found the dishes at the Morris to be inconsistent - some were amazing and others quite mid. Slushy was surprisingly a must get. The house wine was a unique concept and very smooth. Shinto pears were a miss but I’d go back just for the mushroom profiteroles. The halibut crudo left something to be desired. Morris sourdough and butter was one of the best dishes, which is saying something considering its bread and butter, and the duck confit just wasn’t for me. The New York steak was cooked extremely well and was the star of the show.

Our experience at the Morris was half great and half meh. The starters, charcuterie board, small bites and first course, were all fantastic. The main meals fell short. The pork belly was super dry, the duck tasted gamey and the skin was not crispy, and the tortellini pasta was not evenly distributed and I didn’t taste the truffle flavor. The service was a little spotty; our waitress disappeared on us and another waiter kept asking us if we needed anything. I’m not a sticker but the drinks came out very late and if you have to remind us three times you are short staffed at the bar just take it off the bill. I’d like to go back to try dessert which we missed out on because we were all checked out.

I think they got bored here. We had the duck, crab porridge, salad, and chocolate pudding. The flavors were there but nothing gave me a wow. Duck was dry, the chicken at Zuni was much better. After eating at Ernest and side A nearby and being blown away I was disappointed to see The Morriss is nowhere near the same level. I’d rec going elsewhere. Surprised to see the 4.7 on google. 6% added fee on bill.
