One of my favorite coffee shops. They bring in new drinks which is often but the basic coffees are wonderful as well. I’ve bought coffee here as well and it’s always recently roasted and pretty fresh. Gelato flavors switch out as well but I haven’t tried a bad one yet. My dog knows the way there and thinks the people are the best.
The coffee is great and so are the baristas! There is outdoor seating available which is nice on a pleasant day. Also, it's a great place to pick up gifts and art from local artists.
2023 update: With new ownership in 2022, Square Beans has really taken things to a new level. This is easily the best latte in town now, and the consistent availability of world-class pastries and sandwiches make it a go-to destination! They also feature an ever-changing list if seasonal specialty drinks for when the best latte in town isn't quite enough for you. Original review 2017: Best small town coffee shop imaginable! Great coffee drinks, great homemade pastries, great gelato and great Turtle Shell pottery for sale.
Cute little spot on the square! A bunch of flavors for coffee drinks. Marshmallow latte was delicious. Didn't hurt that they were baking muffins when I walked in. That aroma 😍 Spent 3 hours working here. Will definitely be back!
Such good coffee!! Fast and friendly as well. If I lived here I'd definitely make this my go to! Also, being almost a year into a global pandemic please don't forget a mask or if you can't wear one have someone who is able to go in and order for you.
As someone who cannot drink coffee, I can oftentimes only get hot chocolate at coffee shops, which, let’s be honest, isn’t that great. At square beans, not only do they have amazing hot chocolates, they also have other options that aren’t coffee. Their food is amazing! Anyone can find something they like here. Highly recommend. 😁
A great local coffee shop that sells some really cool local artist pieces too!
Have many options to choose from and their seasonal drinks are really good. Love the ambience and the hospitality.
Very quaint and cozy. Great customer service. Very good iced coffee. The barista made it perfectly for me. I definitely will be back soon. I can't believe I've lived in the area for so long and never tried it here before, especially with my love for coffee
Latte was the BEST- Coffee cake out of this world Nice people too
Very cool little shop. Stopped by today for a cold drink and was very pleasantly surprised by the warm vibes of the place. Great drinks, both seasonal, and great service from the barista.
Such great coffee and great barista! A nice gem
A real coffee shop. Infinitely better than a Starbucks. The espresso drinks taste delicious and they made my wife a proper cappuccino, which is so rare these days. The baristas were very careful about making the drinks and clean everything on the machine between drinks. Even wiped out the coffee holding thing before and after my decaf. And a large espresso drinks is under $5. I feel like I went back to the 1990s with prices and quality. The pastries look delicious. I’ll have to get one next time. Great vibe with the classic table of regulars in the corner talking sports and weather. I could not recommend a coffee shop more.
Coffee and the food was great! Cool little square too
Been going since they first opened. . The young ladies at the register are always nice and pleasant. They have outstanding coffee. And the atmosphere is wonderful.
The pastries and coffee are amazing. Worth the trip. Iced lattes are fantastic. Adorable coffee shop you shouldn’t skip!
Caleb, Gabby, Sara and Carly are always super nice, chill people to talk with! Caleb asked me one day if I wanted to try the Honey Vanilla Latte and it changed my life. Can’t drink anything else now.
I will admit I did not like Square Beans at first. I still am not a huge fan of their ice coffee. But when I tried it hot. Boy was it a game changer! I started coming this Month and I’ve been everyday pretty much! The Strawberry Latte is AMAZING! Seriously the best coffee I have ever had. The combination is just legit perfect , I could cry! I will continue to come and get warm drinks in the summer! Along with their wonderful drinks is a cool atmosphere! Very easy to talk to friends and work inside! And lastly their costumer service is superb! Sarah is the best. She’s wonderful to talk to and makes my drinks beautiful everytime. Will continue to come back!
Great place to relax and get work/meet up with people. The staff is very friendly and even though the weekends are crowded I can always find a quiet corner to work in during the weekday. Plus they always have a nice music selection playing, which is a nice bonus to me. I also really enjoy the seasonal drink selection!
Square Beans has been my favorite coffee shop for a few years now! They use J Brooks coffee so it's very delicious and the baristas are very accommodating with special requests. The atmosphere is my favorite: a cozy coffee shop with original wood floors and brick walls right in Collierville Square. It's my favorite place to get my work done or chat with friends. It's a wonderful place to be a regular at. If I had any suggestions, it would be that they bring back their homemade syrups, which made their drinks extra delicious.
Peaceful, cozy atmosphere — perfect for getting work done or relaxing with a book. Great coffee, friendly staff, and not too noisy. A hidden gem!
While visiting the Memphis area stopped at a cool little coffee shop in Collierville called Square Beans. The medium roast coffee was good. Service was friendly and fast. The atmosphere was antique-ish. Really cool coffee shop.
Good quality coffee in a very cool historic square. The whole vibe of the place is very relaxing. Service was great and and friendly.
A nice cute cafe by the town square. The coffee place has a retro vibe with a nice, laid back atmosphere. I got myself an iced mocha. The coffee was good- with perfect amount of sweetness and a right balance of bitterness to it. I loved it, and I mean it ( I’m very picky, actually). It was a summer weekend and the place was rightly packed. I am definitely going back with a book.
This is a cozy little place on the Square. It’s hard to see from the road, but it’s next to the boot store. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The place is clean and the coffee is good. If you order something fancy it will take a few minutes to prepare because there are only 2 people working in the afternoon.
A true gem in Collierville! Square Beans Coffee is everything a coffeehouse should be--warm and inviting; nestled in the heart of the town square, and brimming with local charm. It feels like a home away from home, very comforting. Whether I'm diving into a good book, tackling work on my laptop, or simply taking a moment of peace, this café is friendly and never rushed. And most importantly, it has the best coffee, smooth, rich and flavorful (not bitter like the chain coffee houses). This is the reason I've been coming here for the last five years, and why I decided to give them five stars for greatness! It's consistently the best. The baristas are welcoming and the local guests add to the charm--you can start up a conversation, or study for hours in uninterrupted bliss. If you are in Collierville, make sure to stop in for a hot cup of coffee. Well done Square Beans and keep brewing coffee and smiles!
A cute little coffee shop located on a beautiful town square. We ordered a cappuccino and ice coffee to go and both were tasty. The cappuccino had the PERFECT amount of foam. They also offered gelato, muffins and other small bites. They had an assortment of items you could purchase such as pottery, specialty syrups and prints. A great stop for coffee or to meet up with friends. Who doesn’t want to visit a shop that has the lamp from A Christmas Story in the window?
Super cute shop little shop! Atmosphere was lovely and staff was so kind. We ordered hot cocoas, cookie crumble lattes, pastries and gelato. Everything was wonderful and they even had some ceramic pieces for sale. 100% recommend.
In town from Nashville for the Vesta homeshow and picked this place for morning coffee & nibs with my dad and brother. Very pleased!!! Coffee is delicious and well priced. Bfast croissants did not disappoint. Owner even offered a free sample of the espresso gelato. Can’t wait to come back for a full cup of that alone!
A cute spot I visited because of the Memphis Coffee Shop Hop! Their pumpkin syrup for their lattes is house-made and you can taste a beautiful blend of sweet and spice rather than just sweet like other places! Also, I don’t have a picture but the Nutella Croissant is one of the best pastries I’ve ever had in my entire life. Buttery, flaky, and the Nutella didn’t overpower the taste.
Square Beans...squared! This quaint little coffee shop in the center of this small town of Collierville. This place is like in a distant country town. Love the feeling of this area. Their coffee this morning was HOT, FRESH, & GOOD. This coffee shop offers many other items. Little cakes, muffins, pastries and items to go along with a cup of joe. There is gelato too. They sell other items inside, like mugs and platers. Small cozy seating areas are scattered all about. Men sit out front “shooting the breeze” like in the olden days. Such a pleasant experience. We are coming back.
Favorite coffee shop in town! Y’all knocked it out of the park with the summer drinks too. The Nutty Nectar is chefs kiss 😍

I usually avoid dark, bitter coffee, so I’m pretty picky and don’t often try new places. But today, I decided to give this shop a shot after getting tired of the long lines at Starbucks—and I’m so glad I did! From the moment I walked in, I loved the retro ambiance. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the coffee was just right. I’ll definitely be coming back to try their gelato!

Coffee is a little pricey, but what place isn't these days. However; the atmosphere is great. Its low light, it's quiet, it's cozy, and the store faces Collierville park and its a historic building with original wood floors and brick walls. The dude that runs it is a straight up nice dude.

Very cool little shop. Stopped by today for a cold drink and was very pleasantly surprised by the warm vibes of the place. Great drinks, both seasonal, and great service from the barista.
Their gluten free blueberry muffins are delicious! I loved the ice pomegranate green tea. Service was good. A very nice place to come and get some work done. Very quiet and relaxing. Also a nice place to get together with friends over coffee.
A nice place to stop in for a pastry and a coffee. The seasonal pumpkin spice latte was great, and the interior is reminiscent of European coffeeshops. There are also some tables on the porch overlooking the historic town square. The star of the show though was the cinnamon roll, which was rich and gooey - it just hit the spot!

I gave the place a try when it was slow in the middle of the week and the almond croissant that was warmed up was very tough, overheated, and unfortunately didn't have a lot of flavor. While the service was nice (which earned the stars above), I did not enjoy either the chai latte or the food and the atmosphere was just okay. Would give it another try in a few years.
A bit disappointed. Thr flavors used to be homemade and a lot more fun I like coming here to do bible study. But I can make this at home it's that easy. Its bland coffee. I know it's under new management but girls are on their phones and don't necessarily seem to care much. The atmosphere used to be more inviting and family orientated.

I have been a big fan of this place, but lately ‘my drink’ (iced caramel latte) has been disappointing. Tried it twice before writing this to be sure it wasn’t a one off. Unfortunately I think y’all are skimping on the espresso. My drink has been 90% milk and 10% espresso these days. Please don’t cut corners! Just raise the price and keep up the quality. Everything costs more. We understand.
This is a great location for a coffee shop. Unfortunately I just can’t stand the coffee.. I have given it a few tries now but it’s just not good. For example, my Simmer Pot latte is supposed to have apple, orange, spiced syrup, but it tastes like a cup of milk with some espresso. Absolutely no flavor. From the other reviews it’s clear that a lot of people like this place so I figured I would add my two cents, as I don’t think the reviews ring true to my experiences here. I won’t comment on service or atmosphere because my husband says I’m being a karen lol
Came for early breakfast and I was Disappointed , I loved the atmosphere of the place and the view but the food and service was the least ever. First no healthy alternatives at all. Only white bread of a commercial value. If you don’t eat pork then all you have are eggs and American cheese. Since I don’t eat processed food I choose only eggs. The eggs were just plan omelet without even salt or pepper to taste. I had to go like thousand times to ask for , salt, fork, tissue, proper cup for my coffee cause it came in a cartoon cup 🙄. Yes I paid less than any other place but still I would pay more and get a better breakfast. This place have a lot of potentials with a better management . I must give credit for the coffee , it taste so good and may be that’s why the place have a good review .

We wanted to visit this coffee shop since they were featured in some kind of local coffee shop tour card. I went on a Saturday morning and it was almost packed. There weren’t many breakfast options, but we ordered the Square Hollow and the Sweet Potato Chai to drink, and a quiche and an almond croissant to eat. The service felt a little pushy—the barista seemed out of patience, and we ended up ordering everything in less than a minute. We asked for it “for here,” but everything was given to us to go. Both the coffee and the tea were extremely hot, and I really didn’t enjoy the Sweet Potato Chai; it was too sweet and had an artificial flavor. The food was okay, and the best thing by far was the almond croissant. Overall, I don’t think I would come back to this coffee shop :(
I used to like going in here and the former owners had lots of good coffee flavors. I revisited and there was only one girl working and she seemed overwhelmed and annoyed. The white mocha didn’t taste anything like a white mocha and I had to add sugar. Love the quaint location but it’s a no for me going forward.

There's a new girl that makes my coffee each time and it never tastes right. It's gotten worse after their reopening. I even had one girl give me an iced coffee with a Frappuccino top. I used to love this place, but the watered-down coffee that is worse than what I can make at home. It does not justify the price.
