Avis sur Bombay Grill House 3 Albans
GREAT Indian restaurant in Brooklyn. Food is great, service is great. This location has been open for 8 months according to the owner who came over to introduce himself. We ordered the Salmon Tikka appetizer, Bhindi Masala, Chana Masala, Dal Makhani, mango chutney, and Peas Pulao. Loved everything we had! They serve beer and wine. BYOB with $10 cork fee per table for beer and $15 cork fee per table for wine. WOULD RECOMMEND!
Great Service! Peal did an incredible job!
I’ve tried many Indian restaurants around the city - none have compared to quite to thus one. From the marinades to the service, Bombay grill house was a hit. I got the behl puri (I’ve tried this many times and usually it’s dry or over seasoned but this one hit the spot), lamb saag (meat was juicy and tender), and the mixed tandoori grill (something about the way they marinated the lamb, wow??). The owner even treated us to some rice pudding…on the house. Soo kind. Will be coming back here for sure. Service was immaculate and Bollywood songs playing the background were a cherry on top!!
The food here is so delicious and fresh. The lady who works behind the desk was very kind and patient with my questions. The portions are great also. Top notch food.
The food the food the food is amazing, beyond belief, 5 stars, Michelin level, as good as any classical style North Indian menu anywhere. The paneer makhni was delicious and perfect but also distinctive and fresher, more tomato sharpness, original interesting and delicious. The butter chicken - most of the time it’s the same dish as the makhni with chicken put in for paneer - not this time. This isn’t a microwave special. The chicken and makhni fuse together in a long process before the plate. It’s sublime and rich and fragrant. We also had dal makhni. Yes we kept it utterly basic. And even this, once more a makhni dish, was rich and distinctive and interesting. If this had been a top table in Delhi or London I would have been impressed. Hidden in plain sight, in a speakeasy-on-the-streetfront, it’s just amazing. It might put you off… It’s strategically located in an absolute hole, creaking neighborhood takeout joint. The service is friendly-clueless. Sweet folks who just don’t quite know when to refill water or clear dishes (our server had only started work 2 days ago - perhaps different in other days) But I think I need to rush over to this place before they triple the prices and put out a velvet rope. Will be back!
We went during an off time (4:00pm) and had the whole place to ourselves. The two of us each had a bowl of soup and a salad. We split Naan bread and Raita. We then shared the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Mixed Grill. Everything was delicious and plentiful. We were starving when we went there. Ate a ton of food and still had plenty of leftovers for another meal. The service was terrific and they were all very pleasant.
Came here for a later night dinner, did not fail to deliver. Paneer makhani was outstanding, and selection of drinks was fantastic. No shortage of good Indian food in this area, but Bombay Grill House definitely stands out.
My new go-to Indian restaurant in Greenpoint. I ordered the Lamb Saag and cheese naan and it was some of the best lamb saag I’ve ever had. Super kind and helpful service. This place is relatively new and I was the only person in here but it should be busy because it is delicious, and affordable considering how good the food is!
This place is really great for authentic Indian food and quick bites! The aloo paratha is so freshly made and great. Also, they have Kingfisher. (Banger bolly playlist too)
Amazing indian food in Greenpoint! I can't believe i discovered this so late after being in the neighborhood for 4 years. The paneer makhani was mouthwateringly delicious and pretty authentic - gravy was amazing , plenty of serving and not sweet! The malai chicken Tikka was great as well but could have been more marinated, but the pieces were big and juicy Highly recommended in GP
I have been living in greenpoint for almost a year, I’ve walked past this establishment so many times and decided to walk in today with my good dear friend who is from India. NO REGRETS. This food is delicious, the service is amazing, the lamb was full of taste- not dried. The chicken curry was delicious. You can let the server know how spicy you like your meal & they will deliver. 10 out of 10, I should have came here long before. Coming back again really soon!!
Happened to be in the neighborhood and stopped by to get some takeout. Host recommended the Rado Gosh, which was this amazing melt in your mouth lamb in a complex spiced sauce. So so good. Will definitely be back for more, even though it’s a subway ride away
Food was great and the service was attentive and kind. Was locked out of my apartment and they let me sit and wait there after my meal and even gave me some rice pudding on the house. Wine was super inexpensive ($7 a glass!) and the garlic naan was buttery and soft - I finished it even though I was so full. If you’re looking for a solid, casual, and delicious Indian restaurant in Greenpoint, this is the place!
I haven’t ever left a review before, but had to after eating at Bombay Grill house. The service and food were some of the best I’ve had in NYC and I can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend the samosas, goat curry, signature chicken curry, and garlic naan.
Great food, very flavourful and attention to details. All the dishes ordered were amazing. Great portion size, great service and value for money. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Ordered late delivery. Absolutely delicious, high quality meal. Fast delivery. Caring personal attention to detail- a follow up call personally apologized for an item that ran out and when we opened the bag we found they stuffed it with goodies and extras. Will return!
My fiance and I were visiting from Michigan and stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant for lunch. The owner was our server. He was the nicest person! Beyond that, the food was incredible. 10/10. I wish I could go here everyday for lunch and dinner. Amazing experience.
This Indian restaurant is great, I used to eat at Agra but this place is 100% better. We ordered the goat curry and salmon tika. The food came out quick and it was fresh and delicious, they gave us complimentary garlic naan and it was also very delicious. I’ve ordered takeout from here but this was my first time dining in. The service is also great and it’s very clean, I’ll definitely be back. Thank you for a delicious meal!
Service is good.I popped in for take out the gentleman behind the counter was friendly & helped me select a pescatarian dish without dairy. The order came out in good timing. I got the Shrimp chili spicy which was very delicious & it actually does have a kick so I was pleased (my family is from the Caribbean so spicy should be spicy). He was so sweet he give me the coconut rice pudding for dessert that I didn't order, it was yummy too. Definitely worth going back.
My girlfriend and I have been 5 times in the last 6 months and we cannot stop coming back. The food is to die for and it is by far the best Indian Cuisine in NYC. My girlfriend gets the butter chicken every time. I get the lamb vindaloo or madras. The fresh garlic naan is a mainstay. The atmosphere is very clean and calm. The service, always respectful and speedy. See for yourselves what we see in them! HIGHLY recommend 10/10
Best Indian food I’ve had since moving to nyc 14 years ago. The staff is really nice too.
I order from this place once a week. I am obsessed with their delivery special! The chicken tiki masala and the samosas are SO delicious, flavorful and fresh every time. The naan is so fluffy. They always deliver to my apartment super quick.
The food here is really good and I liked the presentation. There was a very cozy energy and atmosphere which I really liked. The staff is so kind and the owner has great hospitality. I would recommend eating at this restaurant!
, clean and tasty. I don’t usually mess with Indian food, but I can smell their kitchen walking home from the subway and had to try it out. I’ve picked up there a few times now and all the chicken dishes I tried have been quite good.
Traditional Indian restaurant w/ authentic flavors that don’t try to cater to the masses. Every dish we got was great: onion bhaji, mulligatawny, baingan, and goat curry. Will definitely be back!
A true gem of a restaurant - we went for lunch on a day where there had been apocalyptic rain that morning because it was right around the corner from our house, though we half expected the restaurant to not have opened. Luckily, we were wrong! The owner was incredibly kind and accommodating and the food was phenomenal. A gem of a place to which we will definitely return!
The food was great, had a nice quiet dinner with a friend. The mango lassi was especially tangy and tasted freshly made. I would recommend the Goan fish curry, it was excellent and the fish was cooked perfect.
We love this place! Highly recommend this gem. We love the veg samosa, chicken tikki masala, saag paneer, etc. Everything is always fresh and consistent, whether it’s delivery or dine in.
Excellent food, prices and service. I usually get delivery but today I went to the restaurant for lunch and it was perfect. I already knew that I loved the food but the experience of dining in was very enjoyable.
Excellent addition to the neighborhood. Ordered Butter Chicken, Aloo Gobi Mutter, and Garlic Naan -- all of which were exceptional. The Butter Chicken was deliciously rich and velvety, the Aloo Gobi Mutter was beautifully spiced, and the Garlic Naan was perhaps the best I've had. Even the complimentary basmati rice was superb -- fluffy and fragrant with perfect separate grains. Owner William was warm, gracious, and accommodating -- going so far as to prepare a magnificent mug of masala chai (which isn't on the menu) for me upon special request. Will definitely return!
Food is excellent! Favorite place for Indian takeout in the area
this place has great food and great service. i brought my family here and now my mom has not stopped going back any chance she gets. the owner is so nice and accommodating. even went as far to make her food personally off the menu. love this place.
Oh my gosh my fav Indian spot in Brooklyn!! The lamb tikki masala and lamb korma are the perfect creaminess I crave. And their lassi rocks. And the team is so sweet!!!
Love this place! The chicken biryani which comes in a clay pot, sealed by a piece of naan, when you dine in is so delicious. Service is great. I’ve eaten here a few times now and it’s always been good - a great local spot.
The food was delicious and the service was amazing and friendly I highly recommend it to come and try it I love it 👍👍👍
Ordered delivery. Best Indian I’ve had in a long time!
Amazing food, very tasty and the customer service is top notch! Thank you so much, i’ll come again❤️❤️
Delicious food here! I am a lover of Indian food and I have been trying a few neighborhood spots over the years. This one is definitely a standout for quality of food. The butter chicken and garlic naan are delicious. We ventured from our norm to try the pomegranate chicken appetizer and their new signature chicken masala dish. They were excellent and we’ll be back for more. The staff and owner are super friendly. Highly recommend!
The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with beautiful décor that added to the authentic Indian dining experience. I ordered the goat curry, and it was absolutely delicious. The meat was tender and flavorful, perfectly cooked with a rich, aromatic sauce that had just the right amount of spice. The accompanying naan and basmati rice complemented the dish wonderfully. The service was excellent as well; the staff were attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. Overall, I had a fantastic dining experience and would highly recommend] to anyone looking for authentic and delicious Indian cuisine. Will definitely be coming back to try more dishes!
Outstanding food & exceptional service! Bombay Grill House catered my father’s birthday & it was a huge, tasty success. My family are quite picky and they all went for seconds & some even brought leftovers home. If you need an event catered - don’t hesitate to use them. (Sorry no photos - too busy eating)
Bombay grill house was such a hidden gem! On a busy Saturday in greenpoint we couldn’t have asked for a better spot. No wait, quiet and kind atmosphere and wonderful food!!!
As a big Indian food fan, I ate at many restaurants, Bombay Grill House was one of the best! Spiced at just the right amount, fresh and delicious. Service was great as well. Highly recommended!
The waiter was super nice and made sure to grant our every request. While eating, even the chef came out to ask us about our experience which I found quite humanistic. I was thankful. Lastly, I took a small portion of my food to go and they severed the food on the container themselves as appose to some other restaurants that make you serve it yourself. The experience was great and I’ll be back again for sure.
Great food, great service. Highly recommended.
Really solid option for Indian food! Clean and simple menu it’s great. Service was lovely
Some of the best butter chicken I've eaten. My wife had a chicken curry plate that they were nice enough to modify with additional spice. The Naan was also perfect. Fluffy yet crispy. Attentive service as my glass was never empty.
They have the yummiest food and the best people that take such good care of us every time we come! The Chicken Signature Masala is a TOTAL standout dish for us! We CRAVE it!
Food and service were great! We got the butter chicken and dal, both were superb. We will definitely be back and recommend to all!
This small restaurant serves up BIG authentic Indian flavors. We especially loved the lasooni gobhi appetizer and the grill lamb chops
Delicious food and wonderful staff! The Kedai Chicken, Chicken Biyrani, and Bhel Puri were amazing!
Hands down THE BEST Indian restaurant in the area. Dined in and tried the saag paneer, aloo gobhi mutter, biryani, and lamb madras. Vegetable dishes were so flavorful I could order those alone. When I brought the leftovers home I had to enjoy one more spoonful of each dish before I stored them in the fridge. It was that good.
The vegetarian aloo gobhi mutter is delicious! The cauliflower is cooked just enough that it gives a little crunch. It goes well with the garlic naan or the rice that comes with the dish. They have happy hour that gives 20% from 3-5pm, also during weekday, you can get 50% off during lunch time.
Wonderful cozy meal with nice service. Loved the samosa and they have great naan MmmmmmmmMm!
This was my first time eating at this establishment and to be honest it was the best food I’ve had in a long time. The service is excellent staff was kind and very informative on all the dishes even recommended some of the best salmon I ever had (I don’t eat fish at all). The atmosphere is very close set and the food is cooked to perfection I will definitely recommend coming in for a great and authentic experience get the tandoori mixed grill you won’t be disappointed
Amazing butter chicken! Really friendly place! Made sure my daughter even was comfortable!!! Highly recommend
I ordered the Veg Lunch Box with Panner Makhni, and it was delicious! The portion was generous, and it came with Panner Makhni, Chole, Rice, and Garlic Naan. They even included a complimentary Gulab Jamun, which was a lovely surprise. This is a must-try for lunch.
We visited Bombay Grill House for the first time on Valentine’s Day, and it was such a wonderful experience. Both servers were great, but the girl who helped us was incredibly sweet and kind. Since it was our first time, she guided us through the menu and helped us choose the best dishes:Oh Lord, we loved the food, and we loved her even more! My fiance was so excited about the food and she loved it and was impressed with girl. After the other customers left, we even got to talk with her for a bit. We wished her well and good wishes for her studies. She was so welcoming and friendly, and it was clear that everyone knows her and feels comfortable around her. We’ll definitely be back and honestly, we’re looking forward to seeing her again!
We always go there on date night and we love it. The food is great, the worker is always polite. Small but Very nice place.
My husband and I walked across the Pulaski Bridge from Long Island City, Queens to Greenpoint, Brooklyn to have dinner. The first restaurant we came across was the Bombay Grill House. We decided to take a chance. The cleanliness and comfort of the restaurant with its luxurious wooden tables created a sense of anticipation for a good meal. The lentil soup and salmon with an extraordinary sauce exceeded our expectations, and the mango lassi was prepared with a rich flavor and aroma. This is my favorite drink, and it's the best I've had in the city. We highly recommend this restaurant for frequent visits. No matter what bridges you need to cross, go for it! You won't regret it. Tamara and Viktor
This was the best vegetable korma I have ever had--and I order it everywhere I go!!! The owner is so lovely and kind! Delicious naan bread!
Food was amazing! And great people! We ordered Achari Ghobi and Butter Chicken. It was super delicious🤤 We love Indian food and the dishes here were on top level🌟 Service was on top level too! We even were regularly supplied with water. Everything was great! Thank you Bombay Grill house☺️❤️
Was in New York City during Christmas with my family. Looking for restaurants to take dinner. Family decided to eat Indian food. Found this restaurant in google in Brooklyn and Manhattan. We’re confused which one to go. Since Brooklyn one was very close to my hotel, all decided to go there. Was hesitant to go in, but after going inside got very good welcoming environment which was encouraging. Food was delicious especially Chicken Tikka masala and malai chicken with malagathani soop were so good that I wish to eat everyday. Garlic naan with goat curry were amazing combination. Next day I went to their Manhattan branch that were great too. During my next visit , I know where to go to eat!
This was our first time dining in. We had a great experience! The food and staff were very good! Reasonable prices. Our waiter Sanjiv was super friendly and helpful for any questions we had! Lollipop chicken is highly recommended as an appetizer! There’s a meter parking right in front of it. I was able to find a free street parking as well.
Sensationally tasty dishes! Aromatic and fresh ingredients. Authentic Indian cuisine. We ordered Garwali Chicken Makhani (delicious !!!) and Kadal Lamb (very tasty). Excellent Mango Lassi. Renovated restaurant. Neat and tidy. Promotion for the opening week 50% cheaper. We've just come across the opening for the owner's family, so it's also a nice moment. Good luck!!!
Great curry house with delicious food! We tried the Lamb Madras and the Chicken Signature Masala with naan. Surprisingly, Rice did not come with the curries, but we were able to get full so we didn’t miss it. 😄
Solid neighborhood spot for Indian food, dine in or take out. Would love some more chicken in curry dishes. Otherwise flavors are all on point, it's not terribly expensive, and it's close by. Service for dine in was really good.
ordered delivery for this place. I got dal makhni, chana masala, basmati rice and naan. Food was fine but dal makhni was too oily. Chana masala was fine and had good consistency Good for business lunch
Had their saag paneer which was solid, the service was great and they made me feel very welcome:
I came here on the 6th of February. I was greeted by Basudeb. The restaurant was so beautiful. He was kind and helped me pick from the menu. I was the only one there. I ordered from the lunch special. I got Butter Chicken with basmati rice, onion kulcha naan, and lentil soup (Chana masala). Everything was delicious and spicy. Not too spicy but the kick was amazing. The bread was fresh and hot. The chicken was very tender and savory. The rice was not too mushy or dry. I paid $17 for everything and it was worth it. A 10/10😍
Updated review as of March 30, 2024: What happened to this restaurant? One day, the food was flavorful, nuanced, and fresh… and tonight it was heavy, spicy, and didn’t taste authentic. We used to love this restaurant and brought all our friends here over the past 6 months, but after tonight, we’re deeply disappointed because something has changed. We used to feel like we were taken care of with warm hospitality… tonight, it was like we’d never been there before and the staff is completely different. Hope things return to normal, but we may not come back based on this evening. My review in January 2024 (all five stars): This restaurant is completely underrated. We’ve been here three times in the last few weeks and each time the food is rich and filled with flavor, and the staff is so hospitable. If you live anywhere in greenpoint or Williamsburg, this needs to be on your weekly rotation.
I don’t like to write bad reviews and I’m not going to knock them down to a 1 star because I feel too bad. I’d rather just give the restaurant a heads up. The quality of the food has gone down immensely, everything is so dry! We used to order from here every other week, then orders started to come wrong or not at all, and having to call the restaurant several times. We’re big on the delivery combo deals and that had us ordering from here every other week, things went down hill and we stopped but every once in a while we try again to come back and are met with disappointment. We really hope Bombay just gets back to the quality they were at before, don’t dry out all the food, give fair portions again and stop forgetting the sauces!
I really wanted to like this restaurant. The first couple times we ordered from the restaurant, the food tasted amazing despite of the occasional delivery issue. Then the food quality became so unpredictable, one time it was so salty I had to throw it away, other time the meat was too rubbery to eat. Today, I ordered but the food never arrived… no initiative was taken by the restaurant to fix the issue. All they said was the delivery person might have kept the food. Disappointed that this restaurant with so much potential is so mismanaged.
So a went back to this restaurant, the food was good! But the service was horrible, the waitress didn't took the order he wanted to order for us, then he heard us speaking Spanish and started some racial "jokes" as like "sorry we don't have guacamole" and I don't like Mexican food 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ very disappointed
We ordered the saag paneer and chicken korma for takeout. It was highly disappointing to say the least. I’m not sure where all these positive reviews are coming from. Maybe this place was different in the past but it was our first time trying it and we won’t be back. The chicken korma was a white sauce that was not a right consistency and had a poor taste. The chicken was dark brown on the outside after removing the sauce because I could see it didn’t look right. I have had chicken korma in many restaurants even internationally and it has never looked like that. The saag paneer was also like a creamed spinach blended. The samosas were just potato pretty much and pretty bland. Overall it was underwhelming and not worth the price. I would not recommend.
The food tastes really good but the place was not cleaned at all. We saw small cockroaches running on the floor. Unfortunately, I had already started my meal when I noticed the cockroaches. Obviously, I couldn’t finish it. The menus that we were given were a bit disgusting, they had food residue inside, between the pages. They really need to do better. I will not come back. I can’t trust this place with cockroaches running around. Hygiene wise, it’s a disaster.
I’ve been a loyal customer of this restaurant for a long time and usually enjoy dining in, but my recent delivery experience was incredibly disappointing. I decided to order delivery after getting home from traveling. I was quoted 30–40 minutes for delivery, which seemed reasonable but the food didn’t arrive for over an hour and a half. After waiting about an hour, I called for an update. They said they’d call me back but never did. I called again 20 minutes later to cancel the order, but they told me it would be there “any minute.” I asked for a discount given how delayed it was (it had already taken double the quoted time, and I would’ve just picked it up myself had I’d known), but they gave me the runaround and didn’t seem to understand what I was asking for, I waited another 20 minutes before the food finally arrived. The manager called afterward and apologized, saying it was his fault for accepting the order because I supposedly live too far away for their delivery area. That didn’t make sense, I’ve ordered delivery from them before, and it’s only a 13-minute walk from my place. Once he realized that, I asked again for a discount due to the long delay, but he refused and instead offered a free appetizer “next time” if I mention his name. Frankly, that doesn’t make up for this experience. It’s unfortunate, because I used to really like this restaurant. But after how poorly this was handled, and the lack of accountability or basic customer service, they’ve lost a loyal customer. There are plenty of other great spots nearby that value their regulars more.
I had a very disappointing experience with this restaurant. I placed an order directly through their website, but right after confirming, they called me and told me I needed to contact a third-party app called "Sauce" to arrange a delivery driver. At no point during checkout was this mentioned on their website. Their response was simply, "call Sauce and ask to send driver, here no driver"—with no explanation, apology, or courtesy. I ended up stuck on hold with Sauce customer service for nearly 30 minutes, only to be told they couldn't find a driver and wouldn't let me cancel right away. After waiting almost an hour, my order was eventually cancelled-again, with no apology or accountability. When I tried to follow up with the restaurant directly, they were rude and even hung up on me. The food itself is okay, but the customer service is extremely unprofessional. I've ordered from them often in the past, but this experience was frustrating, disrespectful, and very disappointing. They really need to improve both their communication and customer care.
Really disliked my delivery order. Lamb had a lot of un-rendered fat on it, chicken tikka had large inedible burnt bits (and don’t get me wrong, I like a nice grilled item with little burnt ends- these were raisin-sized), so there was a lot of things in this meal I had to pull out of my mouth. Cilantro chutney was sour. Naan was a bust too tbh.
That’s my second time visit this location ill order 3 chicken biryani ill wait 20 mints for fresh when i get the order I am really disappointed its A lot off pieces of chicken or less Quantity rice in it or its too Salty even when ill tell the staff she sai i can give you white rice you can mix it this was really disappointed if I order biryani so why i add white rice on it the food Quality is not good staff was fine both girls was nice but they spouse focus on Food Quality.
