One of, if not the best, Chinese food spot on Merrick Blvd...and there are several. I've been ordering from Gookies for many years and the food is always excellent. The staff is very friendly. All the food tastes fresh and is well seasoned. You can see right into their kitchen, which always looks clean and airy. I've checked out every Chinese take-out spots in the area, and this one is clearly #1.

The best Chinese spot in queens, wr2mm. Their food is always hot, presentable and delicious. The only thing is the wait time. I live like 5-10 minutes away (driving) so ion like how they take about 20-30 minutes to get to me. Worth the wait tho.

Was in NY, and this is the BEST Chinese takeout EVERŔ!! There's a little window you speak into to place your order. They only take cash, I believe. They do free delivery over $10.00. Wish they could deliver 600 miles 😫, I'm hungry thinking of the memory of shrimp and broccoli 🥦. YUMMMY!!!

Great neighborhood restaurant. Good Chinese food is so hard to find, but I travel out of my way, to come here! But, they only take cash so be prepared! It is soooo worth it!

I’m usually very satisfied wit the quality tho some people may not be so patient to wait as some restaurants deliver quicker But to add to this I ordered again tonight and just wow the foods amazing it came out perfect the cook did it just the way i asked an really nailed it on the money 💵 if you know what I mean Their really masters of fried food anything fried comes out outstanding just let me know you want it crispy and boom comes to perfection very well done I’ll upload some pics of what me an the fam ordered too

I LOVE their Lo Mian and Mai Fun! Very delicous and flavouful! They always accomendate my teste, making a little adjustment to my order fit my personal preference. The seasoning is just perfect! They adjust the dish according to my request.

The server at the front is great!!! She is very nice, patient, and pretty 😍😍😍Always provide great customer service! I place pick up order from them all the time. I also order for delivery occasionally. Although the delivery might be busy sometimes, but 35 mins is definitely worth waiting! STRONGLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I really like this place. Been ordering from them for over 10 years and the food AND service have definitely improved over the years. Food's not greasy and it's prepared in a reasonable time whether your deliver or pick up. Highly recommended.

I order today for the first time and the food was very tasty overall. I order house special fried rice with chicken wings. The wings were nice and crispy and the rice had a good taste but only Complain is that the rice was a bit hard. I also ordered Beef and broccoli and it was amazing. I will definitely order again and hopefully the rice will be a little bit softer.

This is one of the only Chinese restaurant's I eat at in the area. The staff is pleasant, and they will customize your order to your specifications. The homemade iced tea is great, and you get one for free if your meal is over 10 dollars. I've been eating here for years and have never had a problem.

Ordered food from here since my usual spot was closed. The rice was hard and tasted like it was the bottom of the pot and the chicken wings was soooo salty. The food really wasn’t all that. I asked for duck sauce and was given one but I had multiple meals so I guess one drop each meal. No napkins given.

I ended up giving over 20% because the driver seemed distressed, but it’s unacceptable to take their frustration out on a customer. The driver also claimed they drove 30 minutes to deliver my food, even though I live just 5 minutes from the restaurant. To make matters worse, my order was incomplete I didn’t receive the free drink that was supposed to come with my $20 meal. I understand that everyone has tough days, but this level of service was completely unprofessional and disappointing.
