Avis sur Bijan's Albee Square
Food wise I’d recommend the breakfast pizza - whatever they’re putting in the sauce was unexpectedly herby but not at all overpowering. The chicken salad sandwich was solid - the bread was crusty but soft, and I’d come back just for the Persian fries. Alexander was our bar tender - fantastic energy. Beautiful eyes. T was our waiter. They had a dope t-shirt.
Bijan nails the balance between flavor and flair! The wings were absolutely delicious — perfectly crisp on the outside and juicy inside. But the real showstopper? The calamari — off the charts, with a bold Middle Eastern twist that makes it unforgettable. What makes Bijan special isn't just the food—it's Brooklyn soul with Levantine sophistication. This is destination dining disguised as a neighborhood gem. Don't walk, run.
I wouldn’t ask for anyone else. Trent goes above and beyond every single time professional, patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about what he’s doing. It’s rare to find someone who makes you feel comfortable, heard, and confident from start to finish. Every experience with him has been exceptional. If you’re lucky enough to have Trent helping you, you’re in great hands! Plus his drinks are great.
Happy hour is the way to go. Great selection to go with it. Monday - Friday from 4 pm - 7 pm The Dim lights are a plus. Definitely recommend for a date night or late vibes before parties closing at 12 am depending on the night. Be sure to inquire with server for timeframe. Drinks are made expediently and with expertise in consideration of your palette. The salad & sandwich menu is a grand plus to choices. I gotta try the shaved cucumber salad with the pomegranate vinigarette it’s tempting. Turn any quick bite into a full meal with varied add ons. Baby green with added salmon to make a dinner. Such a great choice, the sherry shallot vinaigrette was divine with the balance of savory taste without too much other ingredients.
Had an awesome time at Bijan. The whisky drinks were really well done — smooth and super tasty. We ordered the wings and they were crispy, flavorful, and just the right amount of heat. The bolognese was a surprise hit — super comforting and full of flavor. The vibe was chill and the staff were friendly and quick. Perfect place to hang out with friends, grab some solid food, and enjoy a good drink. Definitely coming back!
Such an amazing cute spot. The food was delicious, I got the pistachio salmon with homemade truffle mashed potatoes. The drinks were SUPERB, highly recommend the Bijan. Server deserves a whole raise, he was phenomenal
I love this place. The crack soup is fantastic! Also definitely try the delicious smoked eggplant if you’re an eggplant fan like me. Alexander is so friendly and my favorite part about this restaurant is the cute outdoor tables surrounded by greenery. The tables even have built-in heaters! So if you’re an outdoor diner, this is a great place to try:)
Bijan’s Restaurant in Brooklyn is an absolute gem! My family and I had a wonderful lunch here, and everything about the experience was fantastic. First off, our waiter, Alexander, was incredibly attentive and friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. He was great with my two little girls, which made the meal even more enjoyable. The food was spot on! We ordered the rosemary chicken, margarita flatbread, and the Persian burger. Each dish was flavorful and well-prepared, the Persian burger stood out—it was so juicy and delicious. My daughters absolutely loved their lunch, which is always a win! Dessert was on a different level… the tiramisu- hand made by the owners wife and the triple chocolate mousse cake was the perfect ending to a delicious lunch. Bijan’s is the perfect lunch spot—cozy, inviting, and with amazing food. We’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend.
Perfect dinner experience. Table ready when we walked in, great music, and amazing staff with all the tips to make for a great night. AND THEN dessert which was killer. No reason why this place should not be packed. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality and delicious food. And according to my DD, "the best tiramisu I've ever had!"
Very lovely place and friendly service, the appetizers were tasty , and they had a good selection of drinks ; maybe it would be nicer and tastier of they use a different bread for appetizer. The main course was a creative mix , and well served. I would recommend their sumac chicken and lamb stew for main course and grilled eggplant for appetizer.
The food was more than excellent. The lamb stew is out of this world. The service was excellent. It's a small space with ambitiously too many tables. We were 2 sitting between a fireplace and another table of 4. I could barely move without touching the person right next to me on the other table (happened at least 3 times), let alone have a private coversation. Although the fireplace adds a beautiful atmosphere and wonderful perfume, it was 50° outside and we were roasting sitting next to it. Maybe consider eliminating a table and spreading the remaining ones with a bit more spacing? I was there with my son, we're not particularly big or wide, but my husband would have not been able to fit in there.
Bijan’s has the cutest atmosphere, complete with a fireplace and plants and cool lamps hanging all over the place. I love the vibe but wish the food was a little bit better. My partner’s lamb burger was extremely dry and my eggs Benedict was okay but very plain. Overall we were expecting and hoping for a lot more flavor. Also, important to note that brunch is cash only; I’m not sure why as our waitress specifically said it was only brunch.
Food was three stars as the chicken kebab I got was average and kind pricey for what it is. The service two stars because it was INCREDIBLY SLOW. It was a weeknight dinner and everyone’s gotta work tomorrow, so expected an efficient dinner, but it took forever for the waitress to come take our order and deliver food and even get water. In terms of ambiance — hard to describe as at the end of the night it turned out into open mic which we were not aware of. On the one hand it was kinda spontaneously cool, on the other hand it was unexpected and we couldn’t continue our conversation at the table.
Slow Service - Doesn’t pay attention to the tables and what the customer is needing. Tap beer was flat and we were almost argued with that it was good. Ended up just ordered a bottled beer. We ordered the steak frites w/ truffle fries and the lamb burger. The lamb burger tasted almost like sausage. The steak was perfectly cooked though and would highly recommend.
There are a lot of things wrong here, I'll make a list so its easier to read First and foremost this is not Persian food, it's a disgrace to call it Persian food the closest thing they have is a kebab and its only ground meat, where are the rest of the options? The menu is small and primarily American centered, I went there during dinner time but if you look at the other times you'll see what I mean as well. The service was mediocre, my table was never checked on, mind you there's 5 people here so they immediately add a 20% gratuity uncharge. The waitress pushed alcoholic drinks on us and once we declined she left and never came back. What I will say is she knew what was good and what wasnt on the menu. Now moving to the prices and what we got we spent about $30 a person for a very mediocre meal. The pasta bolognese was terrible, all the sandwiches were alright but the meals did not justify the price in the slightest. I'd avoid this place going forward.
Came for early dinner. Food and waiting service were slow. Beer and cocktail list seemed basic, nothing exciting. Both the lamb burger and the hanger steak burger were like something you'd whip up at a cookout. Just very basic and bland. The fries were wrong, as they were not the kind I asked for. When they corrected the fries, it came out extra greasy and broken up in bits and pieces. Very unimpressed by the food. The hostess, however, deserves a lot of credit for the friendly intro and demeanor and for taking care of us throughout the meal, whenever things went south.
Biggest waste of money for inedible foodin NYC, never been so mad at how bad food was for the price point. I'm bewildered by how this place has an over 4 rating, it was by far one of the worst meals we've had in NYC, and insanely overpriced by how basic and terrible the food is. Aside from waiting 30 mins and watching the table who sat down after us get their food first, everything was beyond underwhelming. My partner got 2 orders of the jalapeno cocktail, while we enjoyed the kick, the first time was way too sour with nothing sweet to tone down the sheer sourness before the heat kicks in, the second time was less sour, it wasn't consistent within the same meal. Then our entrees arrived, I ordered the pistachio salmon but was served the charred grilled salmon instead - barely any flavour in the dish, and was served a strange dill cream out of a plastic cup, nothing special about the shiraz salad. Why did we leave home for 17 dollars and a 15 dollar glass of wine. My partners papperdelle with 'medium rare' steak was served in a piping hot ramken with the chopped up chunks of steak inside. Why did the serve bother asking if we like the steak medium or medium rare of it wasn't served on a side plate and frankly wasn't steak slices at all. The hot ramken overcooked the beef scraps sold as "steak" quickly, some of the vegetables were under cooked and some were overcooked, there was no sauce binding it all together, and the parmesan was preshredded plastic cheese from the supermarket. We couldn't even eat the rest, it looked like dog food in a dog bowl, for $36 a dish, this was absolutely embarrassing. We wouldn't have ate for sustinence had we not just arrived home from a long drive and flight. We were lucky to get a table off to the side, seating is cramped and for the decore and cozy vibe, there were giant screens playing sports everywhere, was confusing, just like the food. Dinner in total was over $100 dollars for both of us. Would you pay for plain unseasoned dry salmon that's the wrong order and pasta and extra for 'medium rare' steak in a piping hot ramken that you have to dig out and everything is brown and overcooked? Someone who gave 5 stars need to tell us which dish and what was good beyond the standard menu burger and fries. Frozen pasta or Kraft would've done better, save your money for McDonald's, don't bother.
