My first impression led to many return visits. The taste experience here was excellent. The employees showed authentic kindness, many smiles, and genuine warmth. Many people recommended this spot, raising my expectations. This spot surprised me in the best way!
This place is fire!!!! I would give it 10 stars if I could everything was perfect from the service to the atmosphere and most importantly the food we ate. visited from Chicago and this is by far one of the best sushi places I’ve been to. every member of the staff was so attentive to our experience, checking in on us regularly. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for sushi near financial district and will certainly be back in the future. We got wings, sashimi, A few rolls, cucumber salad, a bottle of wine, green tea crème brûlée and it was all amazing.
Went here for my friend’s birthday and everything was perfect! The crispy rice was the Best!! And the sea scallop was so delicious. Also the 2oz wagyu beef was yummy. And to finish a perfect meal we ended with a green tea crème brûlée which was really good. The staff was very attentive even though the restaurant was busy. Great service, food and atmosphere. Everything that we ordered tasted wonderful.
Good ambience and aesthetics. The service was great, the whole staff was on point. The food was delicious, I got the opportunity to try a little of everything. The spicy tuna sushi and fried shrimp were delicious starters. The hanger steak was cooked very well, a perfect medium rare and it came with a tasty miso pepper sauce.
Amazing place! Quality of food is incredible. Superb ambience… I felt welcomed and I was looked after and really really really enjoyed my food! I could keep eating all night it was that tasty and delicious! Great choice of wine too. Also, if there is something you are usual to have and not on the menu, ask them and they will make you what you want! 👌🏻 🍣
We really had a good time tonight at Blue Ribbon Sushi. We walked in and we were greeted right away. As we went to our chair the entire staff welcomed us. It made us feel happy to be there. They gave us a great seat right in front of the sushi chefs. I had a lot of questions about the menu but the server was very patient and explained everything for me. I ordered the sushi general, which is 7 pieces of sushi that they pick for you. My companion ordered two rolls. We also ordered the green tea creme brulee and the ginger bread for dessert. At one point during dinner we spilled a little water on the table. They came and wiped it up. That was nice of them. Everything was amazing. The food, the drinks, the dessert, the service, the atmosphere was great. As we left, everyone thanked us for coming. We spent about $160 for two. It was not cheap, but the fish was really good -- soft and fresh.
Update: So I went for lunch today and I must say that all the issues I had with the place the first time I went were COMPLETELY ironed out. First off, the service was impeccable. We mustve been asked at least 5x how everything was going. The lunch menu was delicious with a special award going to the bone marrow and oxtail appetizer. Truly an amazing dish. Drinks were expertly made and again the service was top notch. I will most definitely be back again. Went for a breakfast meeting at the new AKA Hotel downtown. The service seemed unrefined. Waiters asking for orders twice, not delivering the right food to the right seat, etc.. The food however was good. The lox was fresh, the ham quiche was made well and the bacon and potato sides were good. However I don't think I would return only because there are better places in the area.
There's this Japanese spot close to my place that I've been wanting to check out for ages. Today, I went for the Sushi deluxe platter menu and the Sushi combination. The flavors were nice, but the sushi rice could use a bit more texture and I feel like the chef has some room to step it up. On the bright side, the vibe was great, it was clean, and the service was solid. 👏🏻
We ordered a sushi combination. While eating, I already started to feel stomac discomfort, and after I got home, I had diarrhea for three hours. I’m not sure whether it was caused by the raw fish or because I haven’t eaten sushi for a long time and maybe couldn’t tolerate it. I used to really enjoy sashimi and rarely had such severe and long-ing diarrhea. Now I’m thinking about getting some anti-diarrheal medicine.
My boyfriend and I both got pretty sick after eating here last Thursday (April 14). We started feeling it like 3-4 hours after the dinner. Same symptom diarrhea. Since we hadn't eaten together for a couple days before that, it seems like it had to be from there. We each got their sushi and sashimi sets, which were about $60 per person. We just had tap water, no cocktails or anything. My boyfriend thought it was really good, I thought it was average. We've been to their SoHo location before and liked it, so we were excited to try this one. The atmosphere was nice and the service was decent. Kind of disappointing because we generally like their food and have had good experiences at their other location. It's extra sad since it's only 5 mins away from our apt and 10 mins walk from my workplace. We were really wanting to make this a regular spot, but guess we will never go back.
