Avis sur Claudette Albee Square
I came here with my 2 year old for lunch recently to check out their new summer menu, and it did not disappoint. We were seated at a table under the awning on the sidewalk, which affords a nice, shady spot to watch the activity on 5th Ave. I started with the Pied-a-Terre cocktail, which was a fresh version of a classic Sidecar. My son and I then split the gazpacho, followed by the Bibb salad and the Camembert egg dish, with a side of fries. The white wines by the glass (chiefly the Ventoux and Provencal white blends) were nice and crisp and complemented the food nicely. Everything was delicious, at a good price point, and accompanied by helpful and friendly service.
Had a great time here, drinks are a little bit stingy, but tasty the hamburger probably the best burger I have had , dry age, the atmosphere is pleasant, cozy, i’m usually not a big fan of French restaurants, but this one was different since they have a variety of food and drinks.
Great experience. Food was excellent. Manager Daniel Love did a great job and was very accommodating. Will be back. We had the Eggs Benedict and fries well done.
We came here for Restaurant Week and really enjoyed our meal. It’s beautiful inside and the food was lovely. The Provençal was fresh and delicious, the fries were nice and crispy, the Bouillabaisse was served beautifully and had a nice kick to it, and we were all raving about the chocolate mousse. We can’t wait to go back, but for brunch!
we went to claudette for a lovely saturday brunch. we sat on the patio and it was perfect. we got the cashew salad, french toast and the shakshuka. everything incredible and the service was great. the browned butter that came with the brioche french toast really elevated the experience. the shakshuka was phenomenal. add to the list for brunch and dinner.
I’ve always passed by and I keep telling myself that I’m gonna give this place a try and it did not disappoint! 1st of all the hostess are so welcoming, we sat at the bar and Ms. Ashley hands down took care of us she was amazing and was very hospitable. If the food wasn’t good I would still come back to be served by her but that wasn’t the case the food was great too. They have a huge selection of wine we ordered the spring pea pasta it was refreshing and delicious, we ordered the steak as well which is pack with flavor. Ashley had good recommendations! We had the chocolate cake for dessert which is rich not too sweet which was to my liking! This place is definitely worth checking out
Cool coastal French bistro in the Greenwich Village. This restaurant serves dishes that are closer to Mediterranean food than to typical French cuisine. Would recommend trying crispy artichokes for appetizers, the lamb tagine and Claudette burger for mains. While you wait for your dishes, they also offer a complimentary plate olives. The lamb tagine is is more of a Moroccan dish and is a bit spicy. The burger is very delicious and has a smoky flavor. It comes with fries and garlic aioli sauce. I wasn't expecting to get a burger in a French restaurant, but they did it really well. The seating is a bit dense, and the place is quite popular. Would recommend getting a reservation especially for a weekend visit.
After visiting the iconic arch, we found ourselves in need of a place to eat, and this restaurant caught our attention. It was my mom's first time in NYC, so we wanted to make it a memorable dining experience. Upon reviewing the menu, we decided to give it a try, and I'm happy to say that it didn't disappoint. The food at the restaurant was truly delicious, and the drinks complemented the meal perfectly. Seeing my mom have a great time added to the overall positive experience. If you're ever in the area and looking for a satisfying meal, I recommend considering this restaurant. It provided a memorable dining experience for my mom's first visit to NYC, and we left with satisfied taste buds and fond memories.
Bright, airy and vibrant location with aesthetic interior, outdoor seating and indoor/outdoor seats when the doors are all open, but no seat is bad. Friendly servers with solid service. Every meal is beautifully presented and delicious + there's something for everybody. Great cocktails and wines. Slightly noisy when crowded but not too bad, even the older crowd didnt mind.
Highly recommend this adorable restaurant. It’s cozy, romantic, and the food is amazing! Very rarely do we leave a restaurant fully satisfied and happy with the quality of the food… this is it! Everyone that worked there was also very friendly and all smiles. Their wine selection was great and just can’t go wrong with their menu. Only thing is our assigned server that night did not seem to want to be there and made us feel like everything we asked was a bother. We didn’t let this ruin our experience because everyone else was so friendly and the food was spectacular, but I wish our server would have been just as welcoming. Would definitely return.
Perfect place for date night or to catch up with a friend. The mood lighting and the design all added to make it feel so cozy and inviting. We were too caught up in talking to really look over the menu. We just went with our waitstaff’s recommendations and he did not disappoint. He took excellent care of us and everything was delicious. I missed to take a few photos because we were too excited to dig in. Planning to come back for brunch!
We were in the private “Flamingo Room” downstairs and I can highly recommend this space for a dinner. We had 20 people which perfect for the size of the space, and the package comes with your own staff member taking care of your every need (shout out to Israel who was wonderful). It’s very reasonably priced considering the high quality of the food, the amount of food included, and the range of options for drinks available. Really very happy with our decision to visit and hope to make it a regular for our annual get together!
What can we say... we are left speechless after our event. There are plenty of people to thank for our successful wedding dinner at the Flamingo room, but the most regarded people would be Ms. Child, Jennifer, Lauren, On the clock Manager, the dedicated butler for the night and the servers. We had plenty of issues with decision making such as the menu and decorations, however the management team helped us structure the event in a flawless manner. They cooked up good food, helped us in decoration, allowed us extra time as we were late to the venue and plenty more reasons. As y'all can see in the pictures I posted the whole event went well and we surely recommend this place for such events not just for the looks, but for the highly capable management team. We were a large party and had to go through the kitchen to get to our space. That was the start of a great experience. The lamb kebabs were spicy hot, but the yogurt dressing they're served with tones the heat down. My steak was cooked as requested. The cold cuts, shrimp served as appetizers were a good start. Tart was filled with dark chocolate. Our server was pleasant and prompt and party size had to be a challenge. If I go back to Manhattan, I'll go back as their menu looked interesting.
Great food and a fun place to get brunch! The service was very friendly and the aesthetic is cottage-core chic. I’ve been here twice and both times the food has been authentic in taste, and served timely. Eating outside there is very nice and has plenty of seating. Overall, I definitely recommend eating here and hope this helps!
Impressed by exotic flavors and depth of tastes on the solid base of French culinary. Lemon Vinaigrette on the shaved winter vegetable salad was so great. Sesame and pumpkin seeds added flavor as well. Curry flavored french fries stimulate my appetite. Harissa ketchup is not just spicy but also supported by flavor of fish stock or something, which bring it deeper sense. Overall, all the dishes were prepared with delicate attention and the qualities are perfect. Service was also good!
I had been eager to try Claudette for some time, drawn in by its inviting atmosphere and laid-back vibe. Its longstanding presence in NYC suggested a certain level of quality. However, my visit left me with mixed feelings. The atmosphere and service were indeed praiseworthy. Sadly, the food didn't quite meet our expectations. We started with the shrimps, which were the standout dish of the evening, and the octopus, where the ratio of potato to octopus seemed off. As for our main courses, I ordered the bouillabaisse, which turned out to be overly salty, and a notable portion of the clams remained closed. My friend opted for the ragu pasta, which also suffered from an excessive saltiness. To add to the disappointment, our side of Brussels sprouts arrived so deep-fried and greasy that they were nearly inedible. However, to their credit, the restaurant promptly removed the Brussels sprouts from our bill after we voiced our concerns. They even offered us a complimentary serving of vanilla ice cream as a gesture of goodwill. In summary, Claudette offered a welcoming atmosphere and good service, but the food, aside from the shrimp starter, left much to be desired. The issues with saltiness and the quality of some dishes were notable drawbacks during our visit.
After a third visit to Claudette I’d say it’s consistently ok. The restaurant is beautiful and the menu has a nice selection but I’ve never been wowed by any dish. Last night I had the roast sasso chicken and side salad and my husband had the burger. The standout to me was definitely the fries. They were perfectly salted and crispy and I loved the garlic aioli. The rest of the food was totally fine but not memorable. We were there for an early dinner before a show and about halfway through our meal they cranked the music up to an obnoxious level. No one wants to have to shout to the person next to them, especially in an airy and sun soaked dining room where you’d think the goal would be quieter and elegant. I’ve been here for brunch and would recommend that over dinner.
the food was good and the restaurant was really cute and vibes. the bathroom couldve been a little cleaner but im not gonna criticize. i have to emphasize on our waitress, im not going to name names. she was quite pushy on making us get more food and more drinks and after we paid the bill she seemed to have been unhappy with the tip. she was standing next to me when i was tipping which i feel like isnt the most professional? anyways would go again for the food tho.
Let me start off by saying that I would go back and try another dish, preferably the burger because of all the dishes that were coming out that one looked the yummiest. From host to server, everybody was awesome; very professional polite and friendly. However my brunch was not that good. Contrary to my original decision to have the wild mushroom omelette, I decided on one of the specials that was mentioned to me. It was supposed to be an egg souffle sandwich with some kind of potatoes. Unfortunately because of the mask I couldn't quite hear the full description. Rather than make my waitress (who was lovely by the way), repeat herself, I ordered it thinking how wrong can I go. The eggs were okay and the prosciutto was fine. I would have preferred a hot bun but that's no big deal. The potatoes on the other hand were inedible. It was as if you took a few burnt potato chips, crumbled them and put them on a plate. I actually ate them with a spoon. I'm sure my meal will be better the next time🙂
